I am a waiter at Andy’s Bistro and decided to take two of our eldery guest out for lunch. 86 and 92 years old. The hostess i didnt get her name but she was a young pregnant black woman started off our experience. She excuted her job flawlessly and accomodated the two ladies that were with us. The server continued with grace and a little patience. Thank you so much. Our food was very good but these two young ladies made everything exceptional and as their normal waiter i fully understand. Decent food. Duck nachos were really good. BBQ Shrimp and Popcorn Rice wasn’t great. Kids Alfredo was a joke. My daughter was not very happy. Portions were not worth the money on entrees. Was very clean and a decent atmosphere for a group or a daytime date. I had a good time but I will not be returning.

Not good. Disappointing — The Firecracker Shrimp and the Duck Nachos. Loud. There were only 3 small pieces of duck on the nachos and the sauce was goopy and sweet and strong not in a good way. It was overpowering even just on chips. The Firecracker Shrimp had too much batter and the sauce was, again, goopy and sweet like thousand islands dressing. The sauce was poured onto the fried shrimp so you couldn’t scrape some off. However, underneath were large shrimp. Dessert was very good — Chocolate Rocky Road(cake with ice cream, chocolate sauce and nuts). Overpriced for what you get. It was very loud. My ears are ringing from it. Perhaps if you ask to be seated in the center portion of the dining area, it would be quieter since it’s carpeted.

Everything was delicious, service was great, perfection! I ordered the lobster Cobb salad– the lobster was sweet and tender… The egg was fresh and fluffy… The dressing was flavorful but not overbearing… Everything was fresh and perfect. My fiancé ordered a salad to start and the oyster BLT– oysters were friend perfectly in fresh clean batter. And the waiter had great silent service, catered to our every need. Will be back!

Wonderful atmosphere and service. Very clean and inviting. The music they play is for everyone. While at lunch we heard Al Green, Johnny Cash, Blondie, Elvis and so on. Just a great mixture. Now to the main reason why we went here, the food. It was all fresh! If not, they fooled me. Guacamole was very good &the duck chilli was great! I had the Taco Trio with fish. It was good, but the sour cream and sause was a bit too much. If they had had any spice to them I would say the sour cream would have fit. But, there really wasn’t much flavor or spice. They were a bit pricey, but I’m sure that is to pay for the fresh food and clean environment. Overall, I’d go back and try something different.

We ordered the chicken and waffles. I didn’t care for, but then again that’s my opinion. It just wasn’t enough sweetness to even out that salt. What I didn’t care for was the service it the attitude of the restaurant, instead of offering to take this dish back basically I was told«you ordered it then eat it». We will not be back.

It was empty when I walked in. So we were the only table, and yet took way too long for them to come to our table. Didn’t even greet us or stop by for a drink order, like what? All the servers were in a corner talking. Then eventually one server was shutting out all he blinds and finally realizes he didn’t acknowledge us. Then he comes by. It really makes no sense that it took that long to notice that we were the only other human beings in an empty restaurant. Never going again.

The atmosphere is pleasant, not too loud but not to quiet, with very friendly and professional staff. The food is delicious with the Softshell Crab BLT being my favorite. Been going regularly lately and will be returning.

So my husband and I came to Legacy Kitchen to celebrate our anniversary. We have been here before and we have always had a great experience when we come. This time, we came close to closing and we had a few problems with our food. However thanks to the exceptional customer service of our server Jacob and the manager on duty Jeff we had a great evening. Some folks would have just ignored our complaints, but Jeff and Jacob went above and beyond to make sure that we had a smile on our faces when we left. Thank you for a great evening, and a happy anniversary.

I enjoyed every meal from LK. Duck nachos is very delicious, that sauce and how the duck just melts away with those crunchy chips. Service is always on point. Drinks are superb, entrée options is selected but that is okay because sometimes you just don’t want to be overwhelmed with a huge menu option. Tuna salad is good. I rather you go and decide for yourself. I tried to bring my friend but she looked at the menu and wasn’t feeling it. I think if you like that type of American food to begin with then you will like it. Think of it as a distant cousin 2nd generation to Houston’s on St Charles. Laid back cool and causal, nice for a group lunch/dinner or just for a couple going on a date.

Yet another place I know that I have been to in the past, but I just needed a refresher on the atmosphere and the food. The first time I came, they had just opened, and I remember feeling overwhelmed with the conflicts, it seemed nice, but I was unimpressed with the food. Fast forward to now. It is close to Veterans Blvd, but in front of a strip mall with a huge parking lot and one end being Rite Aid, the other being the Fresh Market. Plenty of parking. The exterior reminds me of a old school Shoney’s in the shape, but the colors of the paint are neutral and pleasing to the eye. They have recently added breakfast hours and food on Saturdays and Sundays. The interior is classy, very neat and clean, the wait staff is friendly. The moscow mule the other night was strong and delicious. The punch from my most recent meal was also strong and fruity. The food on both occasions was beyond reproach. All very good, fresh and hot. I liked the what tasted like homemade sauce that came with the fish. The BBQ shrimp and popcorn rice was so good, I was tempted to pick up the plate and lick it, but I refrained. They have a variety of wines and mixed beverages to choose from, and it was all so well laid out on the menu. I look forward to coming back and enjoying them again in the future. This would be a perfect spot for a romantic date night!

While most people seem to be really excited by Legacy Kitchen I have to say i was just not that impressed. To me it was like they were trying to hard to remind you they are no longer a Shoney’s but a shiny new modern eatery. The décor is really cool and the menu ultra hip with items like Loaded Duck Nachos and Blue Cheese Chips for appetizers, I am sorry they refer to themselves as «refined american fare.» I wish I could say we tried something more refined but three of the four of us wanted burgers so that’s what we ordered. My sister, the lone standout, ordered the chicken and waffles. My daughter and I ordered ours medium rare and my niece ordered hers well done. My daughter and I were extremely happy with the way ours came out. They were juicy and cooked spot on. It was a nice size patty and i loved the flavoring. It took me back to the classic fire grilled burger taste from Ground Pat’i which I loved. I will say thought it was not a $ 15 burger. It was an 8 – 9 burger easily. I do not even pay $ 15 for a burger in Cleveland at Iron Chef Symon’s B Spot Burgers. My sisters chicken and waffles arrived so beautiful and the chicken was excellent. The batter is light and airy and the chicken moist and tender, It practically melted in my mouth. However, the waffle itself was so dry that it needed a vat of butter to moisten it and the pepper jelly in the syrup was a real turn off. Way too much jelly not enough syrup. She left a lot of the waffle on her plate and just ate the chicken. All in all we had great fast service but we all agreed that while we were not miserable with our choice for lunch today we do not think it is someplace we would want to go again. There are plenty of other places to get great food and more bang for our bucks.

Hard to not like this place and hard to like it. Really good food. The firecracker shrimp are great the ribeye is good and the house made A-1 sauce is great. The problem is this place is not fancy and formal enough for the PRICES! 30 dollars for the steak and every single small mix drink is 10 bucks. I want to spend over a 100 $ at Ruth’s or Pelican Club not this place.

Loved this place. We started with the firecracker shrimp and we loved it. We had the wedge and tuna salads and again it was great. The turtle soup was tasty(with sherry). Happy hour at half price beers. 6 dollar wines and 6 dollar cocktails was great. Our waiter Daniel. Was terrific. Suggestions and he helped us with excellent service.

Legacy Kitchen is the kitchen! Good food & great service when I came yesterday afternoon. The hostess greeted us as she was walking to give a table a refilled drink while she told us she would be right back. Can I say great multitasker? LOL Our waitress was very nice, accommodating and answer our questions informatively. Moving onto the food. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip & you can’t go wrong with that. I ordered the legacy burger medium rare w/friends while my picky friend ordered the ribeye(14oz) w/fries. Both of our food were hot, juicy and flavorful and the fries were crispy. However the food were expensive. I’m sorry I couldn’t give LK a five star. :c

Let me first say that I was so hoping this location was consistent with the location in the CBD. And it was! We had the best wedge salad we have ever had at both locations. My son ordered a grilled cheese with fries from the kids menu which was huge and delicious. It was not the typical greasy bunny bread grilled cheese, but more of a rustic one with thick fresh brtead. Our service was great, our drinks were never empty. We also had the crawfish queso which was good, but nothing to write home about. I ordered the Buffalo chicken salad which was just right. Not too much of anything but still had awesome flavor. We were also in and out in less that 45 minutes at peak lunch time on a Monday.

Time and time again, I find myself choosing the same restaurants due to convenience and comfort. I chose to step out of my comfort zone and I felt adventurous. I’m so glad I found it. Living in Metairie, it can be quite difficult to find good food that isn’t the same hum and drum of what is chain restaurants. Legacy Kitchen provides a cute date night spot, or girls night out dinner that is perfect for those in Metairie. The menu has changed from the other pictures I’ve seen on Unilocal, and for the better it seems. There isn’t just one steak option — but three different flavored/types of steaks. We started off with the Smoked Salmon Dip — delicious. The dip is the perfect amount of sauciness with a good amount of salmon. It is served with long toast pieces. I had to ask for extra because I love carbs. I got the Hawaiian Ribeye — always a favorite of mine when I go to Houston’s. The one here is three dollars cheaper than the one at Houston’s though! Yay! The ribeye is served with a thinly sliced round pineapple slice atop. It adds a perfect sweet bite to a flavor-packed ribeye that was cooked to perfection. Instead of the baked potato, I chose to sub the side with crawfish cornbread casserole. I did not care too much for this side because it was very sweet(similar to a sweet potato mash). I should have stuck to the baked potato instead. My boyfriend got the market fish with the crawfish topping. With the fish, you can choose one of three options on flavor/topping/cooking style. I believe the options were the crawfish etoufee, blackened, and one other I don’t remember. The fish was good, and it even came with some rice. If the fish was fried — i know, unhealthy — I would have loved it more. The saucy crawfish on top of grilled fish really made for a mush type meal. A crunch from a fried batter would have elevated the dish. Overall, the service was spectacular, the environment was very cute and romantic, and the food was delicious. I would definitely return to try other items on the menu!

I don’t often dine in Metairie so I’m not necessarily up on all the latest and greatest out there. But I was pleasantly surprised by Legacy on my first visit. It’s pretty much traditional, American food — burgers, salads, some comfort food items(ribs, chicken and waffles), stuff like that. Our group started off with the blue cheese chips, which were awesome. Handmade kettle chips doused in a blue cheese and truffle sauce. Even though I’m not really a truffle fan, I liked these a lot. The truffle flavor wasn’t terribly overpowering, which is usually my issue with it. We also had the salmon dip, which was very good too. Kind of like a «lox spread» that you’d get at a bagel shop in New York. For my main course I went with the ribs. That’s not something I get very often but it was speaking to me that day. They brought me out a whole rack of ribs, which were really good. The meat came right off the bones and the BBQ sauce was sticky and sweet. The shoestring fries on the side were also really good. For dessert the table shared the lemon icebox pie. That’s not really my thing either but I enjoyed a couple of bites. Very refreshing on a hot summer night. My drink was also refreshing, though it didn’t really taste like it had any alcohol in it. It was a peach lemonade thing with vodka. Yum. Finally, the group I was with are apparently regulars and are friendly with the owners, so they came out and said hello. Everyone was very nice and gracious. Our waitress was also very good. No complaints at all on the service. And I can’t really comment on the price because I was a guest and didn’t see the bill. I’ll definitely keep Legacy in mind if I need a nice meal in Metairie again.

I believe I became ambidextrous because of this place. Seriously, I learned how to destroy a plate with both hands, eloquently might I add. This spot was in my bookmarks less than 48 hours before I stopped in. I had a hunch about it and didn’t want to wait too long before I paid them a visit. Luckily, i had an errand to run in Metairie and hadn’t eaten yet by the time I was done. Very nice décor upon entry, i noticed the bar was empty and whenever I’m grubbing solo, a bar spot is one I quickly commandeer. Some force of inner lush ordered a gin and tonic without me even noticing, accompanied with what had to be the best decision of the day, the roasted chicken with black beans, rice and avocado. I remembered the look on the bartender’s face when I was done with my plate(in record time), she was in awe, and I’m just like, ‘yeah, it was OK’. it was much, much more than that, she was impressed. I also ordered a pineapple mojito for no reason at all, but it was worth it. Added a nice touch to the whole thing. Some people are weird about drinking ‘hard liqour’ with their meals, me, not so much. I was so torn over what to order as I glazed over the menu, I’ll definitely be back to try the chicken and waffles because all the pictures and what I saw coming out of the kitchen looked way too good to not give it a shot.
