Empire Asian Fusion

Best Asian place in Metuchen, my favorite plate is fried dumplings… so yummy. The owner is very kind and friendly. The service is very fast.

I miss Meilings. The quality of Empire is horrible compared to what was there for so many years. Empire is average at best; no better than any other Asian restaurant in the area. It has been a major disappointment.

Have been here three times now and somehow this place just doesn’t do it for me. I had pad thai the first time and there was an odd taste to it. Can’t really describe it… Gave them another shot and tried the tofu teriyaki dinner. The tofu was rough and not very edible for me. I thought I would never be back until I was recently in the area, looking for something to eat. The chicken teriyaki I ordered to go was just okay. The service has been good and I want to like this place, but the third time wasn’t quite the charm for me.

I had been a loyal customer for 2 years and never had a problem but recently I ordered for delivery and gave them my debit card. I often ordered for lunch as I work in the area. New person took my order. I was charged the wrong amount $ 41.72. When I complained they said they would refund me the 41.72 and charge me what was the right amount $ 29. So they took the 29. from my account and they say they credited the 41.72 but it’s been 3 weeks and has not yet gone back into my account. I will never order from them again. They have no customer service skills not to mention that they steal your money and never give it back.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Do not get the offer they do not honor it and will refuse to speak to you in regards to your purchase.

I ordered delivery from here recently when my go-​to sushi spot was closed and I was left feeling underwhelmed. I started with seaweed salad, edamame, and miso soup. The seaweed salad didn’t appear fresh and the miso soup was so-​so. I had the California roll combination for my entrée and it was just okay. My boyfriend ordered the Eel roll combination and was confused to find that the eel appeared to have been baked. This is my second time trying this place and unfortunately the second time wasn’t a charm.

Love the food, especially the chicken in garlic sauce. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating for large groups and families! I highly recommend!

We ordered take out, a simple chinese food order. Big mistake. Shrimp chow mein, roast pork fried rice, wonton soup was all thrown into the trash. So we called the restaurant to let them know what we thought of their food and asked for the manager. We were told he wasn’t there and that he would be back in ½ hour, but suddenly he appeared and got on the phone. He wanted us to bring the food back in the pouring rain. We already had a «credit» with them from a previous bad experience. I’ll summarize, they are liars, ripoffs and they sell garbage. If you live in the area do yourself a favor and go to Jade Dynasty, Mia’s Garden, Hunan Chicken… or just find a dead bird outside, trust me, it will taste better and it won’t insult you.

Had pad thai and pineapple fried rice. Very accommodating for a soy and peanut allergy. Instead of soybean oil, they substituted sesame oil. Fish sauce only in the sauce. Left out tofu and peanuts.
Food was better than I expected. Both dishes were pretty tasty.
Food rating of 4 stars, but 5 stars because of the accommodations.

Fast delivery and good quality Chinese food. The Double Cooked Pork is really flavorful. Glad I found this place.

This is our go to spot when ordering delivery and dining when it comes to Asian cuisine. I enjoy the sushi lunch special and so does my wife. We order from here a ton and 9 out of 10 times it’s great but once in a while it’s just okay but it’s always good enough to come back. If you’re looking for a good meal and are in the mood for chinese /​asian fushion /​sushi this is worth the stop and money.

I really enjoyed the egg drop soup and was surprised how big the portion was for the low price. the sesame chicken was decent but had a little too much breading for my taste. scallion pancakes are thin and crispy but a little bit too dry for my taste.

Best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been too. They do not cut corners on the ingredients or the quality of food. Excellent service and sushis are great as well.

The Consistency is great here! I am a regular and I love their coconut shrimp roll. It’s so amazing every time. And I always get the avocado salad to start: D the ginger dressing is really good, tastes homemade.

I went there for dinner yesterday. I thought this is just a place for delivery, but actually the environment is good. I got seated right away as I am the only dine-​in customer.
Not an ideal place for authentic food, of course, but the food tasted good and is not expensive. The only thing I didn’t like is that I waited for a long time for the food to come, even though no one else was there. Maybe the kitchen was too busy with the delivery orders? I don’t know.
Anyway, this is not the restaurant for authentic food, but is not a bad place to get something to eat.

The food is good and so is the service, prices are fantastic. A very kind and friendly asian lady was our waiter. Theres a liquor store on the same block (I bought a pretty good Pinot Grigio for $ 14) and brought the bottle with me becouse here you can, witch is a plus. Im not giving this restaurant more than 3 stars becouse the outside of the restarant looks sleek and elegant but the inside is very plain and the atmosphere (when I was there) was boring and uneventfull. I bought 2 sushi rolls one was $ 5 the other $ 6, and got one free. They were ok, one of the rolls was fantastic, I cant remember the name but it was recomended by the waiter. I had the pinnapple and shrimp Thai rice, deliiiiiicious and huge portion, although I think the cheff should be more creative with the presentation. I ate less than one forth becouse after the sushi rolls I was already stuffed. I enjoyd my meal, I wouldve liked the place to b more impresive becouse Iv been to other places in Metuchen and most have their own thing you know, everyplace Iv been to in this wonderfull little town, has their own vibe and distinctive quality.

Quality Chinese/​Japanese delivery, better than most of the options nearby.

After making the transition from Meiling’s to Meiying’s to Empire Asian Fusion, I wasn’t sure what to expect after the renovations were complete. However, when you walk in from the street (there is a rear entrance from the parking lot on Pearl Street if you can’t — or don’t want to — find street parking), you are greeted by a very clean, mellow atmosphere with a friendly hostess at the front desk.
I’ve never had to wait for a table here, which is surprising given how great the food is. Their complimentary crispy noodles and duck sauce are a phenomenal start to your meal. Wonton soup and hot and sour soup are slightly salty, but then again, most Chinese food is. Their General Tso’s chicken platter, sesame chicken and moo shu pork are fantastic. Great flavor, a little spice and tasty rice that isn’t too greasy.
The sushi is phenomenal for a small restaurant in Metuchen. You always see them make it fresh, they have a brown rice option available and never overdo any one particular ingredient. The raw fish is always fresh, although the spicy tuna roll was once a bit gummy.
They once messed up an order, and I didn’t realize until I returned home. I was able to come back, get a new order and receive money back. Friendly people, prompt service and a nice evening out. Not too fancy, but just right for a casual night with family or friends who are big into sushi or Chinese food. Really never disappointed!

Great food, always fresh ingredients, and the quality of the dishes are superb. One of my favorite place for either Chinese food or sushi.
