We went on the recommendation of the concierge at The Edition Hotel and were so happy we tried it. We didn’t have reservations and the wait was about an hour so we went upstairs to the bar area and got two seats at the bar immediately. The mixologist made us two great drinks and gave us the menu and we decided to eat at the bar. Such a fun environment, great music, people watching, and watching the mixologist do their thang! Food was great too! Had a fun evening here!

Bottom line… you must go to eat at 27 don’t think about it any further just go! The coolest place you will go in Miami(unless you are a die hard club goer). We actually went in via the hotel and walked thru the Shaker bar area(which was a very cool shaded outdoor scene) to the restaurant area. We went upstairs for a drink first(I had the B*tch drink and hubs had Blacksails drink both strong and good — make sure you get the cherries w the Blacksails drink they forgot them on our 2nd round). Downstairs we had reservations for 2 and our waiter was excellent! His name was Pablo and he has extensive knowledge of the menu and took the time to explain it! We had the Avocado on Plantains $ 10 for an appetizer which was perfect! We had the chicken dish for our entrée which looks like flatbread and was amazing! I wish there was more chicken on it though! We also ordered a half order of the fried rice and I’m not even kidding it was the most flavorful fried rice I’ve ever had! Coolest place in town– just go!

I love everything about this restaurant, starting with the ambiance and décor. Also the fact that they grow some of their own veggies, fruits and herbs, makes it that much more appealing to me. In regards to the food, everything I tired was extremely delicious and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the shrimp dish(can’t recall the name) but it’s been one of the best shrimp in garlic sauce that I have ever had!

LOVED the atmosphere. Super colorful and great for Sunday brunch. Ordered the tamales — spicy and super flavorful. The friend I was with ordered the fish sandwich and said it was the best he’s ever had, but the jerk spiced fries were overly seasoned and a little bit too spicy.

Loved this restaurant! The drinks were great! «Bitch better have my money» is a must try! We had the avocado tostones, arepa platter, and the catch of the day in a curry sauce. Loved everything except for the fish in curry. Not that it was bad, just wasn’t amazing. Overall, great place! Loved the vibe and the décor. Feels like you’re in someone’s swanky home in another decade or something. I would definitely come back and recommend this spot to anyone. Especially for the drinks and ambiance!

Come in and eat at this place! The food is phenomenal, the service is top-notch, and the ambiance screams relaxed vibes and fun! This seriously has been one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. It was so good, my girlfriend and I went there twice while on our vacation. Although you can call in reservations, we were able to walk-in and get seated right away. We got the guacamole tostones for our appetizer, and cheeseburgers for the main course– both phenomenal! We then had an awesome warm brownie with bourbon cherries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream that was to die for. Not to mention, throughout the course of the meal, we each had amazing cocktails. I recommend the cocktail with the frozen grapes(I forget the name of the drink)! The second night, we got the falafel app and chicken schwarma main course, which were both on point! You won’t go wrong at this place. Next time we’re in Miami, we’re making a point to come back! Shoutout to Pablo and the entire waitstaff at 27 Restaurant; they were amazing both nights we were there! Pablo, our waiter, was the man! He knows how to treat customers right and he made sure we had a great experience both nights we were there.

It has taken me awhile to review this place since every time I’ve visited in the past has only been for the cocktails. but last weekend I was able to try some of their dishes and that deserved a review. First off, don’t get me wrong .the cocktails here are very good as well… I had their Bi*** better get my money(lol) awesome drink, fruity… couldn’t really tell u all the ingredients but def worth trying. Now onto the food… We tried the falafel with tahini sauce, the garlic shrimp and the tostones with avocado… by far the tostones def stood out! This bar is also very laid back with a mix of 80s 90s music. if you get sick of being out by the patio of the Shaker. just come here and enjoy the A/C.

Restaurant:27 restaurant and bar Summary: Ok so this is the restaurant in the same building as Broken Shaker and the hostel. Very cool inside. The food was hit or miss. I have been twice and the first time was wow, like solid 5 star wow, but the second time I was pretty disappointed. Snapper was dried out and bland. The problem with this is the cost. You can’t be inconsistent when you are charging high end prices. Meal: Dinner Cost: Expensive Service: Good service. The staff seems caring and attentive. Food was fast. Ambiance: Looks like an old-timey house with an scattering of different tables and chairs, booths and nooks. Essentially wherever they could find a spot to put a few people they fit it in, without making it feel to crowded. Great feel/vibe for a date place, plus you have broken shaker right outside which is one of my favorite date spots. What they do well: ok so a few must tries: Kimchi fried rice– nice and sticky with great flavoring. This is one of my favorite dishes. Only had the first time, but I will go back for it again. Braised short ribs Malawach Where they need to improve: Consistency Best Dishes: Kimchi fried rice, go for the full order, it actually reheats decent if you can’t finish it… Oh and if you can’t finish it, learn how to eat baby. Kidding! Parking: Street parking, there is a lot of metered spots around, you shouldn’t have problem finding it within a few blocks. Score: 5 star first time, 2 stars second time, we will average that to a 3 star. I want to give it the benefit of the doubt and will go back. When I do I will update the review. Tips: Do yourself a favor and get the fried rice.

Awesome, awesome place. Highly recommended — the food is so delicious, the outdoor seating is so fun, and the décor of the restaurant is quite charming. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious(despite the fact that the Freehand is a hostel) — highlights emphasized below(*): — Yogurt-Tahini Massaged Kale Salad — Malawach(*) — Pulpo a la Huancaina(*) — Whole Fried Daily Catch(this was around $ 55 – 65) — Kimchi Fried Rice — Gabe’s Arepa Platter(*) — Braised Short Ribs(*) Again, everything was absolutely delicious so you can’t go wrong, but our party of 6 really loved the above 4 dishes. You can’t go wrong with this place!

Relaxed and cozy restaurant that apparently seems to be the place to go on a Friday night in Miami Beach. My friend and I decided to try it out, but when we arrived(without reservations) we were told they did not have any tables available for the entire evening. However, the upstairs bar is first come first serve and so the host directed us upstairs. This actually panned out to be better than sitting downstairs in the main restaurant area, as we sat at the bar, ordered drinks and food, including dessert, and were able to people watch the few hours we were there. The crowd is not your typical«local to Miami» scene. It took me by surprise, but I rarely hang out at the beach so maybe this is standard in the area. The bartender was super attentive. We ordered a Pear Parm and B*tch Better Have My Money as the signature cocktails to celebrate yet another good week, and for dinner we shared the Local Catch Crudo and the Arepa Platter. The drinks were a perfect blend of fruity, sour and just enough liquor to make you feel happy(at least for me anyways). The Crudo appetizer was interesting. It was a hot plate with a piece of cooked fish in what appeared to be a curry sauce. It was okay. The Arepa Platter was huge! It included a lot of arepas, cheese, shredded beef and various sauces. It was very filling, but there is always room for dessert, specifically the peach cobbler with Nutella ice cream — yummy! Peach never tasted so good. 27 restaurant shares a space with The Broken Shaker. I found it convenient that you could transition from one spot to the other seamlessly as Shaker is outside and looks like an immense patio and pool area. All in all, a nice place to go and spend a few hours with friends over festive drinks and a diverse array of food platters.

Envision a beautiful home like feel designed by a hipster grandmother. This is what it feels like when you walk in. Can’t picture it? Well then you’ll just have to come and fall in love for yourself. 27 is everything that makes me happy. The staff is super attentive. The kimchee fried rice is made with rainbows. It is adjacent to the broken shaker. The bar upstairs and the little balconies will make you smile. The drinks are solid. There’s just no losing here. I prefer to get there for an early dinner and wind down with a drink upstairs or right outside. It is one of the best restaurants in Miami(I’ve had the short rib, the fried fish, the crudo, the octopus in huancaina sauce– you name it). The star of the menu is by far the kimchee fried rice. Be sure to take a bite sitting down because it will knock you off your feet. And they offer half portions of it too which is more than enough if you want to sample several things of the menu. Yep. I’m a fan.

Great restaurant and bar particularly the cocktail bar near the reception. We ate outside and the kale salad with chick peas, daily catch and ribs were fantastic We had booked but arrived early and they were able to seat us relatively quickly way ahead of our booking which was great. Really knowledgeable waiting staff with great suggestions. Good choice of drinks too

I had dinner at 27 last night with an über-picky friend that lives in NYC. For as long as i’ve known him, he’s been of the opinion that restaurants in Miami are mediocre at best. We arrived at 27 about 15 minutes late for our 7PM reservation, but were seated almost immediately upon arrival by the friendly hostess. Our server Stephanie was wonderful! She suggested that my friend have the drip beverage that apparently changes monthly. I had a sip of it and it was delicious. I had a mocktail comprised of lemon, cucumber and mint which was also delicious. There were so many delicious-looking things on the menu, we had serious trouble deciding what to get. So, we basically ordered everything. To start, we had the falafel and the avocado tostones. Both were delicious. The falafel were done just right and the hariff yogurt was a delicious complement. The avocado on the tostones was perfectly ripe. The appetizers were so good that I was afraid the rest of the meal wouldn’t measure up. We had a terribly hard time decidng on entrees, so we ordered three. We tried the malawach, the braised braised short ribs and half a portion of the kimchi fried rice. The malawach was tasty. I loved the tzatziki and the way the onions complemented the chicken. The braised short ribs were AMAZING! I think they were probably my favorite part of the entire meal. The kimchi fried rice was also deliciously spicy. If I could have fit more into my belly, I would have finished every single dish we were served. But, I had to save room for dessert. For dessert, we shared a chocolate brownie with black cherries and vanilla icecream. It was unbelievably good! As we walked out of 27, my friend looked over and me and said, «I think that is the best meal I have ever had in Miami.» I think that sums up our experience pretty well.

I loved this place! The 5 is mostly for the atmosphere– the inside of this quaint little converted house is so adorable, and the outside has a very relaxed, tropical vibe. I ordered the«Pear & Parm Bees-Knees» cocktail because it sounded too interesting not to try– it was awesome. For 2 of us, we split the local catch in the coconut-curry broth(5 stars) and the arepa platter(4 stars). Delicious. Wish we had a bigger group so we could’ve tried more– or even gotten the amazing looking Whole Fried Daily catch. The service was great. I really appreciated that our waiter was honest with us that we were probably over-ordering for 2 people(we were originally going to order more)– and we were so glad when we finished because we were too full to even have dessert! I need to come back here for brunch!

I absolutely love the cozy feel of my grandma’s house 27 has going on. My first experience at 27 was much better then my most recent. The first visit we had delicious crafted cocktails and the short ribs, arepa platter, and kimchi were all on point! For our most recent visit for my husbands birthday. I made a reservation for 8:30p and upon arriving our table wasn’t ready and we were directed upstairs to the lounge bar area that too is packed with character where they would come get us when the table is ready, no biggie. Cocktails are perfectly crafted and fresh-to-death with clever names like B*tch Better Have My Money and West Kendall Swizzle. After 30 min. of waiting I go to ask the hostess how long we should expect to wait she replies«Oh, it’s ready» and a manner which makes me think we were forgotten. Once we got to our intimate candle lit table in the corner, and were forgotten some more. After at least 5 min and looking at every server that walks by hoping one of them is ours, a lady comes over and asks if anyone has been to our table yet. Finally, we get menus. While waiting for our food I unfortunately had the chance to see a runner pick up a food item on a plate and reposition it with his bare hands before taking the dish to the guests table. No bueno. We ordered the Gambas al Ajillo, rock shrimp, which were pretttty great, same goes for the Kimchee Rice, ordering it again was a given. When placing our order we were stuck between the ribs which I had before and knew was delicious and the Malawach Shawarma Chicken. Two very different dishes and as we didn’t know what malawach was we really wish our server would have explained it was a flatbread when we asked how it is and which she recommended vs the other. It was okay with a sparse amount of actual chicken. Guess this night just wasn’t our night with 27. I’m not opposed to returning as I have a brother in law who raves about the spot. and I’m all about second second chances.

I came here on a recent Friday night to celebrate a friends’ birthday with a group of about 10. We didn’t dine in the restaurant on the lower level, but instead went upstairs, found a little nook across from the bar where we could all fit on a few couches and ordered drinks and some bites. As a bonus, there was a small porch adjacent to where we were seated where the handful of smokers in our group could go and destroy their lungs. This place is located next to Broken Shaker, and the food menu in the upstairs lounge here is the same as the food menu at the Broken Shaker(burgers, hummus, jars of jerky, etc.). I ordered the hummus which came with some tasty bread and sliced veggies and was priced reasonably. Mixed drinks were about $ 12 each, bottles of cider were $ 6. This place was full, not packed, and I’d love to return here some evening for dinner on the downstairs level. As with most all bars and restaurants in this immediate area, finding parking to come to 27 and the adjacent Broken Shaker can be a real challenge. I was very lucky and got a spot a few spaces from the front entrance; others in our party drove around for 20 minutes or more, trying to find an open space before finally scoring one.

3.5 rounding up for food and vibe. Dined here recently on a muggy, rainy Miami night. We scored street side parking around the corner almost immediately. I later found out that there’s a public parking lot right on 27th and that 27 also offers valet. We were seated immediately upon arrival(with a reservation). I did not love our spot given it was basically just an indoor picnic table, but I decided to just go with it. Next time I will definitively request a regular table and chairs with a backing though! I love the décor and vibe of 27. It’s very dark inside and I felt like I was dining in someone’s house circa 1978. Dress code is «anything goes.» Want to dress up? Go for it. Shorts? Cool too. It’s far away from the SOBE hustle and bustle, yet still hip and alive. FOOD&DRINK Doctor Zhivago Draft– Absolut Vodka infused with lemongrass, ginger honey shrub, lemon juice, and ginger beer. I loved this cocktail! Kimchi Fried Rice– GREAT! I will be ordering this always and forever here. Lamb Kibbeh– these didn’t look very good, but they were. Mofongo– an interesting take on mofongo, but not my favorite. Bacon Cheeseburger– Not something I would usually order for dinner, but I did and it was worth it. Just thinking about it makes me want to drive over right now. Really good. Pappardelle– this was another simple dish done just right. Loved it. Arepas– Not your traditional arepas and that’s great since I don’t like areas to begin with. The platter had rope vieja, a couple of sauces, cheese, and black beans. All of it was seasoned very nicely and it was fun trying different combinations. Great choice! Tostones– this was the most underwhelming course. The tostones were missing that crispness I love so much. Also, the avocado on top wasn’t ripe enough yet so it was a little on the hard side. Pass. Bubbie’s Latkes– I love you Bubbie! Whoever you are! These were amazing! Sadly, my friends and I took one look at the dessert menu and decided to pass. I can’t recall the last time that ever happened. Nothing stood out to us. And we all eat. A lot. Weird. Maybe we’ll have better luck next time. Service was efficient all night. Once we were done and the table was cleared, our waiter came by to ask if we could basically go elsewhere because they needed the table. Usually, this would offend me. I love taking my time with dinner and enjoying the company of my friends. I decided to let it go because he asked in the most polite way one could, and I knew their seating was limited due to the rain. Next time though, no picnic table seating and no rushing me OK? Pfft. We waltzed to the very cool upstairs lounge for one more drink. Still the same vibe as downstairs, but with vintage Cuban salsa playing. I love having the option of the lounge. There’s not much within walking distance since it’s mostly residential. The drinks also happen to be PHENOMENAL! I look forward to my next visit. Up next… brunch!

This place is so cute and the food was great! There are two entries, by the side of the road but the door is kind of hidden or you can enter through Freehand, which is a hostel. If you enter through freehand you will walk through the Broken Shaker which you also HAVE to try! I suggest making reservations before you go, otherwise you will won’t get a table. It gets very packed. It took me an hour and a half to find parking, so make sure you get there before 9:30PM on a Saturday! I only had Falafel but it was a great choice! I was not stuffed but I was definitely satisfied. The pico de gallo hit my mouth with a zing! The greek yogurt was enough to tame the spiciness. This was my first time having Falafel and I was not disappointed! Meanwhile, my friend had a burger big enough for her to split with her boyfriend. I cannot wait to return again.

Very friendly and chill out environment, good music. No booking possible for less than 6 people, but it’s worth coming here early(before 8pm) or wait for a table at the bar in the meantime. Angus steak was excellent, and the burger too!
