Capri Sushi & Italian

Placed order for delivery last night at around 7:15 PM. At 8:30 I called back to find out where the order was and they said it will be a little longer. Called back at 9PM and there was no answer. I kept calling and then the phone line was busy for over an hour. I never received my order. I called them the next day and they told me that they refunded my credit card the price of the order but they could not tell me why it was cancelled and why they never notified me. His consolation was to come in and he would give me a free sushi roll! Are you kidding me? I placed an order for four adults and you never notified me that you arbitrary decided to cancel it!!! I know mistakes happen, but fix them appropriately!

Bought a Living Social Voucher for $ 130 for $ 65 and tried following instructions to make a reservation. Restaurant refused to take one.
We were given menus to order and ordered sushi appetizers and after deciding on specialty pizza the waiter came back 20 minutes later as we were eating our sushi and told us they weren’t serving pizza that night. He said they only have regular person pizza but that we shouldn’t order it because they get it from «kastner’s next door”(ridiculous to pay for a frozen garbage pizza in a «higher end» Italian restaurant. So o at this point we were stuck because we had ordered sushi and now had to chose from the few pastas on the small menu. The menu indicated that the pastas can be ordered in multiple forms (ravioli, fettucini, linguini etc.). some of our party ordered ravioli and again ten minutes later we were told «no ravioli». so we got other forms of pasta. I feel like we got duped being that the voicher was purchased based on the menu that the restaurant menu which apparently is not accurate.
They took the voucher but they charged tax and 18% tip on the full bill ($ 36 on the $ 130 amount as opposed to aspprox $ 18 on the $ 65 amount) including the full voucher amount. So your $ 130 voucher is actually costing you $ 83.
We definitely would not have bought the voucher had we known the situation… So you decide. The sushi was delicious and the pastas were not bad. the salmon was a bit fishy overcooked and dry.

Elegant and delicious — the food was just fantastic! We had the sushi «Love for Two» combo and it was some of the freshest fish I’ve ever had in sushi. We also ordered the risotto which was creamy and cheesy without being too heavy. The sweet potato and beet fries were just perfect as well!
The service was great, especially for a kosher restaurant!
While pricey, its great for a nice dinner out or date night :)
Will return again soon!

Food was good, not great. Service wasn’t great either. The best was the volcano roll.

Capri Sushi is a mom and pop right on 41^st street that offers Kosher cuisine and something for everybody. From a vast assortment of sushi rolls to salads, to Italian dishes, whatever one craves can be had. The restaurant is very classy at a glance and the service is spot on. The prices are average and a little high, but for the location and quality and freshness, I would say it is merited. I think my favorite item during our visit was the olive tapenade topping for my salmon dish, as it added such a taste I had not tried before. My fiancé had a sushi sampler that had a little bit of everything and really enjoyed that as well. We each had a huge salad and took some of that home which was nice the next day. All in all, with or without a coupon, Capri is a nice place for dinner while out and about on the beach.

Very happy with our overall experience. Service was great and the food was ready quickly. The spicy tuna roll was one of the best kosher sushi rolls I’ve ever had. The fish was fresh and the spice was perfect. I also really enjoyed the mock scallops as they added uniqueness to the meal. My husband ordered the eggplant and ate every last drop.
One suggestion is that the bathrooms could be cleaner.
Will definitely be back on our next trip.

We’ve been here twice. The first was on Valentine’s Day night. They were completely full and a bit overwhelmed. It was a bit of a comedy of errors, but there was some humor in the way things went and the way the servers worked. The food was very tasty.
So we decided to come back. The second visit was better. We went on a Thursday evening a bit early. It was not busy, so we got served promptly. The server was super friendly and attentive. I had Garden Pizza and my lady had the Salmon Carbonera with Penne Pasta. That flavor was incredible! Wow! Regarding my pizza, it was seriously, no overstatement, the best pizza I’ve ever had. Move over Andiamo and Spris. The crust was good enough to eat by itself. The topping had fresh ingredients. Have you ever had baked cheese, where it is toasted like golden brown? Do you like the edge of lasagne better than the middle? This is what I love, and why I loved this pizza so much! I love baked cheese!
We finished and asked for the check. The server pointed out that the total was less than the Living Social deal we had. So he offered to give us more food, like a dessert and coffee. Yeah, free. What kind of honesty do you see like that in the MIA!!! So we both got a foamy cappucino (and they even had the decaf version) and a chocolate soufflé with rich vanilla ice cream. OMG!!! Melty magnificence.

This place sucks! Been here 3 times and never open after I bought a Living Social deal… The hours they display are a lie!

Placed order thru Grubhub at 11:40pm. Delivery time quoted was 12:45−1am. Never received food however was charged for my order. It’s now 2am in the morning (3hrs after I placed my order,) I’m starving & now have limited options on where I can get late night sushi. And I’ve been on hold with Grubhub for 21minutes and counting to get my money refunded. Going off another review I do not think the hours are posted correctly. This needs to be fixed especially if they are going to use delivery services like Grubhub. A simple sushi order has now become a huge ordeal. Very unhappy.
Update: waited on hold to speak with Grubhub for 30min due to high call volume. They have to contact restaurant to let them know I did not receive order (which now they are closed.) Beyond annoyed.

Went there on a Groupon deal. This was so horrible. We walked in and they had us sit ourselves, which is fine. After sitting down, my hands were sticky. I’m not sure if it came from the filthy menus, or if the seats were just never wiped down. We then ordered some food and I opened my silverware roll. The WHITE napkin had grey smudges on the inside of it.
I was a trooper and ate there anyway. Most times I would have just walked out. The food was average. Honestly, I’m just happy I didn’t get sick. I was really looking forward to getting a good piece of fish for dinner, but just couldn’t muster up the nerve to try it there. The prices were way high for what you got. For a bowl of pasta with some sauce on it, you could have gone to Olive Garden and paid a few bucks less, but at least knew it was clean and sanitary.
I can not imagine that I would ever recommend this place to anyone ever.

Found this place from living social. I couldnt find enough reviews before going there, so I took a risk.
I am an expert of aunthetic sushi, I went 1000 of places, this one would be almost the worst I’ve ever been.
Why I am not putting 1 star is because living social made me to spent what its really should cost. Its nit pricey, but you get what you pay for sometimes.

Visiting on vacation. This place ruined our night.
Do not order the Seafood risotto. I had to send it back. it was gross.

They had SIX tables full in the whole place…

Went here on a living social deal and the food was pretty bad. Pasta had no taste, dessert was eh, sushi was also average. Pretty bad service as well. I wouldn’t come again

Decent food and good prices, especially if you use the Unilocal deal. Service, meh, ok, but it was worth it. The bread was awesome.

I’ve been vacationing in Florida for about a week and noticed a Unilocal deal for Capri so my wife and I decided to stop in. We got the Coral sushi which was pretty good (so long as you dunked it in the spicy mayo), my wife got a salad, and I tried the Capri Asian salad.
Overall, the service was better than most as the staff was friendly and accommodating. If you’re looking for nicer parve place with decent prices, this is definitely worth a try.

Terrible service. Pretty shabby restaurant. Disorganized. We went there and waited for a host to seat us… 15 minutes no-​one. We asked the sushi chef to seat is, he did after another 5 minutes. Then we waited… And waited… And waited… And 10 minutes later not one person stopped by our table to greet us, ask if we want water/​drinks, order, etc. And numerous staff had walked by us. We walked out.

Went here based on the previous reviews and was disappointed. The sushi was ok, but nothing special. The service was beyond slow, we watched more than one couple get up and leave after being seated and not helped. It took us around 10 minutes of continuous asking to get out bill to leave. Will not return.

Great food! Great service! Great sushi and tuna/​salmon tartare.
I would knock off a start for ambiance, just because it was not my type of crowd. Most customers were in their 50 ‘s, very quiet place. However, I can’t bring down a star just because it wasn’t what I was looking for.
Try it out!
Good for dates.

I see I’m in the minority here but I really didn’t think the food was anything special or particularly well cooked.
Maybe it was just what I ordered…
