I have three words. DEWEY’S…IS…BACK! I passed by this corner bar dozens of times over the past year and pressed my sad face against the windows like a lost puppy. Yesterday my wife and I were walking home from dinner and we couldn’t believe our eyes… there were lights, bottles and action inside! That’s right, Dewey’s is back and better than ever. They have a great bartender, an awesome juke box, long necks bathing in ice and half a a dozen taps including Funky Buddha. There’s even a pool table and couches with several TV’s out back! The good news is this place is only a few blocks from where I live. The bad news is… it’s only a few blocks from where I live! I feel a habit forming… hmmmmmmm

Complete disappointment. Totally empty. Only 1 type of tequila. Payton reposado $ 13 margarita. No cook and no draft beers. They had«run out» of everything else and no actual menu. Definitely not going back. Waitress looked lost and clueless.

This place is my go to local bar in South Beach. I always get excellent service here. The food is great too! Cheap food… Cheap drinks= AWESOME! :) They have karaōke on Saturday nights and the DJ is a great guy. This bar has a ton of TVs that always have sports on them. You can also bring your 4 legged buddies with you!!!

Believe it or not, the mens’ room is FAR improved over what it used to be. The current mens’ room situation, even though it’s still difficult to lock the door, is a palatial porcelain expanse compared to the old loo. I was impressed. There’s some space inside, oddly decent bar food, a jukebox, and the Guinness and Murphys is always around, so it works for me. During the Dive Bar Dash on the 17th of March, I was surprised to see a credible corned beef and cabbage being served. If/when it gets too stuffy inside, I also like the fact that there’s a small outside area.

Ah, I want to rate it higher I do. If it were for the company and fun of Dive Bar Dash, this would be a 5 Star review easily. Although their Bacardi Limon with sprite made a respectable imitation, they did not have the mint or muddling tools to make a mojito. I know it’s a dive bar but uh how about having a slightly cleaner boys room? Ok now that that’s out of the way… At least I got the opportunity to taste Murphy’s Stout and it’s coffee grounds taste.

I don’t go to Dewey’s often but I ended up there for the Super Bowl and it was a good time. Got a table on the outdoor covered terrace and the buckets of beer kept coming. They had some specials going on, like a burger and a beer for $ 8. It was packed and the girls who work there were doing a great job. Only complaints are the boring beer selection(bottles only) and they should install some kind of surround sound system… the only speakers were the ones on the TVs and it was impossible to hear anything.

This place is all about convenience for me. It is not my favorite Pub in Miami but it has what I like. Good food(the wings are damn good), affordable drinks although I must say they glasses are a bit small. I am usually around that area so for me it is a great place to have a last libation! Oh and the bartenders are really friendly!

**GOODSPOTTOWATCHFOOTBALL** Die-hard Saints fan here. Had to venture outside and search for a sports bar to watch the Saints and Bucs game. Dewey’s was perfect. Lots of televisions, 2 pool tables, and friendly bartenders. Patrons left when I started screaming obscenities. I was that *rowdy, obnoxious fan*. Made friends. Bought rounds. Jameson shots. Beers. Smoked a cigar. Like I said, Dewey’s was perfect. RECOMMEND.

Dewey’s is a very good place to watch football and have some beer with friends. There are lots of TV sets with almost every game that’s being televised. Sue, the bartender who was working while I was there with a friend, was very friendly and attentive. My buddy and I sat outside, where it was quite comfortable. He had a burger, which he seemed to enjoy. I had a bucket of fries which were okay at best. The fries may be fried in oil where other foods are deep-fried and absorb the taste of the other foods. BLECH! I repeat, it’s a good place for football and beer.

Awesome chill bar! I like this place a lot. They have a juke box to play your favorite tunes and a pool table. Drinks are cheap and they make them strong =D Bartenders are super nice too. If you get food I got the mozzeralla cheese sticks and jalpeno poppers and they were amazing. By the way I ate them before I got drunk so I can credibly say they were truly good. Stop by for a late night drink with friends and you can meet some of the locals around. Pretty easy going people. On occasion it can get a little roudy though. =)

What a freak show this was. Was excited to try this place because sometimes you’re just in the mood for a scummy bar but things got a little out of hand. Two women were approaching every man in the bar, God knows what they were saying to them but 15 min. later they changed into lingerie and were selling«raffle tickets» I will say that their wings and burgers are pretty tasty. And I like their little outdoor area, I’m not sure I’d feel safe venturing inside.

I’ve had some good times at Deweys. Not going to drag this one out, here’s the bottom line: Super duper dive, cheap drinks(i think cheapest on the beach) and a good crowd. Friday is Karaōke night, that’s when I do my MC Hammer impression. This is technically a Philly dive bar so if you got beef with any Philly team Im gonna laugh watching you get rebounded off the juke box. Gg

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this yet. I have fond memories of this dive bar! One is of my english mate who used to live in Miami, now back in London. But has named her dog after this bar, and the dog Dewey now roams in the London fields. I wouldn’t say the refined crowd hangs here, but i’m not exactly refined myself. Just pure white trash… i’m not sure if i’m talking about the crowd or me. he he. Good cheap booze! Dig it!

3.5 stars You definitely won’t find any tourists at Dewey’s that’s for sure. This local DIVE bar always has a very STRANGE mix of people. In fact the gambit runs from downright scary borderline homeless alchies to businessmen at lunch. I’ve been to lunch here on several occasions as well as watched numerous sporting events here, and its a pretty cool casual place to go without any hassle. The times I have went to watch games, my friends have made up the majority of the patrons in the place so they were pretty accommodating with putting what we wanted on the TVs. What I am surprised about is that no one has mentioned the GREAT burgers here. Very surprisingly they make an incredible sirloin burger that is HUGE. It is definitely big enough to share. The drinks are also cheap, although the place is a little grimy. Service is suspect depending on how busy they are, but for a great local hang you can’t ask for more.

Oh you fancy huh? — STAYAWAY Just to be clear — THISIS A DIVEBAR — deep dive bar — Jacques Cousteau deep dive bar !! This a great place for cheap drinks with locals and karaōke on a Saturday night. I enjoy that an any random night, you can mix it up with record executives, life guards, Unilocalers, Local businesses men, and yes the occasional drug dealers and prostitute but you could wait in line all night to get into Mansion and see the same people and spend a lot more. I saw a few WORLDCUP games there and had no problem with the volume, but of course I had to turn it up myself because the waitress just didn’t know how to do it. — agree with Maria — Yellow Card for Training. Also as the Miami Beach Philly Bar — they have the banner outside to prove it — I can’t not go here for a game. More than most places if you are nice the bartenders, they will be nice to you. I brought a group of Rotary Exchange Teamers from Latvia and Sweden on Halloween and they had a blast thanks to the staff who kept the on the house shots coming. They do need to keep locks working on the bathroom doors though. It can get kind of scary when the door flies open and you are walking in .lol Good place to start or end an evening on SoBe for sure.

My previous review touted Dewey’s as a one of the best sports bars in Miami Beach. This is absolutely not the case anymore. What was once an affordable one stop venue for all your sporting needs doesn’t exist anymore. Dewey’s has abandoned having the DirecTV sports packages. The only games on the TVs there(sometimes) are only those that can be found on basic cable. Food prices are every bit as premium as you’d find in much nicer establishments such as Burger And Beer Joint or 8oz. Burger Bar without the quality and cleanliness. The cook frequently walks through the bar with months of crust on his filthy apron. You’ll quickly lose your appetite when you realize there is no soap in the only bathroom and wonder how he must wash his hands. All the food is heavily layered with cajun seasoning(it comes this way no matter what), this is a sure sign that the food isn’t fresh and they are covering up the smell and taste. Dewey’s has no draft beer, bottle beer only. There are no drink specials outside of happy hour. They simply cannot compete with the truly affordable drink specials of Lost Weekend, The Playwright, Finnegan’s Way, Ted’s Hideaway or the Clevelander without any draft beer. How can any place refer to itself as an Irish Pub without Guinness on tap? Dewey’s has a perfect location which only makes it more frustrating that the management and owners do not see the potential of this place. Why in the middle of all the thousands of professionals who live in the expensive high rise condo’s along West Ave would Dewey’s prefer to cater to the ubiquitous always present drug dealers and prostitutes who openly apply their their trades is beyond me. Must be a Russian Mafia front. The diversity of the crowd in Dewey’s is the same you would find in any maximum security prison — and even fewer women. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

I used to be a Dewey’s fan. I liked it for being a neighborhood spot, a local bar catering to the year round residents. Good prices, solid pours, fun late-night karaōke on Saturday nights. But not a good place to catch the World Cup. I went in yesterday to try to catch a bit of the Brazil game. I thought perfect: a dark, cold, quiet bar with small drink prices and big televisions. The game was on, score but the sound was tuned to a different station. Yellow card. The waitress/bartender/manager comes over and my friend orders a Guinness. I look around and notice she’s watching some rerun on FX or something and that’s what the sound is tuned to. There were two gentlemen also watching the game on the other end of the bar. But that made no difference. Sufficed to say we didn’t stay long. In short, skip Deweys during weekday World Cup games.

Welcome to Dewey’s… SoBe Dive Bar Extraordinaire! Seriously, this place is one of the best dive bars in all of Miami. I love how it doesn’t care about anything but having a good time. You can come in here dressed up, dressed down, and maybe even in your PJs(though I’ve yet to try that). They’ve got cheap beers, cheap liquor, and food(although I’ve yet to taste it) so you dont have to worry about drinking on an empty stomach. The staff is friendly, there’s plenty of space to spread out, and they’ve even got a pool table. There’s nothing complicated or detailed about Dewey’s as an establishment– it’s just a laid back place to have a drink with some buddies… simple as that.

OMG! My first time at Dewey’s and what a blast! Shawn’s housewarming party hijacked Dewey’s and headed for the mic instantly like a bunch of bees heading to the honey. Dewey’s is hidden quite well, no wonder I didn’t know where it was. I almost couldn’t see the entrance on Alton road. Old fashioned bar, cheap drinks, friendly crowd… a very pleasant atmosphere far from the Miami hype and glitters. Already boozed up Unilocalers screamed their lungs out on Bohemian Rhapsody and Don’t stop believing… ;) It was quite a sight, or I should say quite a singing sensation! The only bad thing about the place was the cigarette smoke… my throat hurt the second in breathed in. Seriously, I choked a few times when I came in. Still, a special place to have fun without obnoxious people around you.

Like Kathy, I love this place… partially because I too can walk here from home! I will admit, Dewey’s is a little frightening from the outside, but not so scary on the inside. Beers are pretty cheap for SoBe and the bartenders are pretty nice. There has been in interesting mix of locals the few times I’ve been there… Great place to watch sports. They have a number of TVs & lucky for me I found a bunch of other Red Wings fans to watch the games with. Late night(I know on Saturdays for sure) they have karaōke(or however you spell it) if your the type who like to have drunken American Idol, some people actually sang quite well much to my surprise. Bathroom situation is a little scary here. No marked restrooms, the locks are broken on both doors and one of the toilets has a chain coming out of it that you use to flush it… in my opinion this is what makes it a dive bar! I only got walked in on twice, so not too bad. So, if you want a place to chill with pretty friendly locals, cheap beer & lots of TVs this is your place. They also have a pretty decent juke box… although last time I was there someone was stuck on Elvis…
