The reviews here are completely ignorant! This place is pretty cool specially since they are huge in Germany… I guess if you’ve never been to Germany is hard to understand :) This place is the Bomb! Best beer and Mustard is amazing!

Very good food, slightly under seasoned but fresh. Definitely get German/European taste. Nice beer selection as well. Service was okay not very happy or enthusiastic but attentive enough. Worth the trip to taste the food and great beer!

Went here back in December of 2015. The food was excellent. I don’t drink but my boy friend who is a certified cicerone said the beer was fine. The problem was when I went to the bathroom. I agree with Sonia’s review from a month ago. It was totally disgusting. Broken down and looked like it had never been cleaned! I’m from NYC and I have never seen a bathroom this bad even in the worst places here. We will never go back because of this. Shows that they don’t care about cleanliness. Made me worry about what the kitchen was like. BTW we were there for lunch so it wasn’t that the bathroom had been used all day and night.

This rating is based on eating a huge pretzel and drinking a huge beer. I have two words for you, «THEBOOT«. It’s a large glass boot filled with amazing German beer. It takes two hands to lift it and takes like two hours to drink it. Great place to have a beer and a pretzel to soak up the alcohol. Great area for people watching. I’ve heard the food is pretty good but I haven’t tried it yet. If you order the boot all the tourists walking by stare and point. HAHA

Beer like its supposed to be. The dunkelweiss is heroic. We didn’t try anything else. For extra manliness, order it by the liter. We didn’t eat here but the food on our neighbors table looked decent enough. I’m just rating it for the beer…

This place is all about sausages and beer. We tried this place on a Saturday night, mainly because they had seats available and a big screen tv to watch the Heat game. Each entrée is roughly $ 15-$ 25. They don’t give you the quantity for the price that you pay. The food was decent, it was tasty. I had a veal sausage, with red cabbage and mashed potato. Definitely a good combo, but their entrees, felt like appetizers or finger foods for me. The red cabbage had a little bit too much cinnamon for my liking, but other than that, decent food and good service. Oh, one thing, don’t check out their bathroom! You’ll probably end up throwing up from the nastiness in there.

Great place, fast and friendly service and the food is super tasty! Being a German myself I always go to German restaurants with mixed feelings(my moms home cooking is unbeatable) and I have had experiences where the food is just not tasty at all, and really plain. This restaurant is one of my favorites now! I had super yummy potato soup and Jaegerschnitzel, with the right salt and pepper. Our food was delivered fast and the waitress was so cute in her dirndl and just really friendly. Definitely deserved 5 stars!

The kitchen closes at 10pm on a Friday night? Last call is at 11:30pm? And on top of those two, it is pricey. Three strikes; you’re OUT!!!

Very close to the original and no, the pretzels are not hard. They are light and crunchy memories of Munich. They lose a star for service, which is dreadful, but on Lincoln Road I don’t have a lot of pretensions about getting good service

I’m at hofbrau right now … Placed our order 45 minutes ago. Our server just left and never came back to check in with us. Asked the hostess where our found is she said she doesn’t know… Never coming back to this slow paced, bad customer service place again

Ashamed to be German in this place, came here waited 45 minutes for food to get to my table nobody speaks German here and waiters barely speak English the toilets are disgusting they didn’t even have soap ! There was a single guy next to my table he waited around 10 min for a server and then just left cause nobody helped him ! When I complained and asked where my food was after 45 minutes the girl just told me sorry but got no explanation what a shameful place ! Food tasted like rubber, took waitress 25 min to bring me a check ! Never again

My fav German/Balkan restaurant. Every time I’m on Lincoln road I stop for the civapcicas, ajvar and bratwurst. Reminds me of my two national countries German and Croatia. Located on Lincoln road and all of the shops. Great out door seating is giving way to people watching. Service is great from the staff.

So, I have mixed feelings about this place. The beer is usually pretty cold and the selection remains the same. The Maibock is the seasonal beer selection which is on tap on occasion. I usually order the large pretzel and a beer. The service is friendly and the food is good. Most of the time the restaurant isn’t usually packed and seating is always available. It’s a nice chill place for Lincoln Road.

I have my usual spots on Lincoln road but thought to switch it up and go German. I’ve never had German food before and while scoping the menu I played it safe with a sandwich. What I was looking forward to was German beer and huge pretzels and in that aspect this place excelled! They had happy hour going on and serving the beers in the big beer glasses was key for the experience. Pretzels were big, soft and lightly salted. I’m not sure if come back for a full meal but would return for beer & pretzels.

Awesome real German food. I had the potato pancakes as a starter. Very good. You get 4 nice size pancakes. The offer apple sauce or sour cream as a side accompaniment. Kinda cheesy you only get either or. If you want both they charge an extra $ 2USD. Seriously? I got over it. Then I had the veal schnitzel with cold German potato salad and cranberry sauce as an accompaniment. It is was fantastic, just like grandma use to make! The portions are big so come hungry!

It’s a good place to have a beer or two. I ordered the pretzel, which was really good. It was served with mustard. The sausages are good too. If possible, sit outside.

Ich sage nur deutsches Bier in Florida. 1a!

I have by this place many times wandering how is it. We order the giant pretzel and it took forever to come out 15min or so. The pretzel was cold and my friend had ask for mustard and the server disappear. Oh, and we also didn’t have silver wear. I had to ask the hostess twice(once for each item.) Not a good first impressions.

Bier sehr gut. Hofbräu halt. Bei den bayrischen Spezialitäten natürlich nicht vergleichbar. Aber ok

This place is maybe good for a beer, but definitely not for eating the good old German food. The only German that I could see there was the nice girl at the front. The guys in the back are definitely not German. For that taste the food is way too expensive. Don’t be fooled, real German food is somewhere else. I actually didn’t dare to order a glass of beer. Ok, ok, ok… some people might argue that I’m pushing it with a four star rating, but after careful analysis(and multiple visits to this location), I decided to go to the top. Here are the reasons: — Food is incredibly close to the original, that you get in Germany. The wienerschnitzel is great(veal or pork, just like I had in Vienna), the currywurst is crazy close to one I had in Berlin, the Munchner Schweinshaxe is oven roasted and excellent. The Roosti was very close to one I had in Zug, also very good. For desert the traditional apfelstrudel is great, but I really like the kaiserschmarrn(although not as good as one I had at a friends house in Munich). — Prices are a bit on the high side, but in line with Lincoln Road offerings — Service was always between Very Good and Excellent — Beer is expensive, I wish they could have more variety and lower prices here Recommended!

Do yourself a favor and skip this place, unless you don’t care for subpar food. Yes, the waitresses wearing the traditional Bavarian costumes look cute, and the costumes are cute too, but that is probably the only thing this place has going for it, other than the fact it is located on the pedestrian friendly Lincoln Road Mall, so it is incredibly convenient if you’re in the area and looking for a place to eat. My friend and I came here and ordered the Hofbrau Wurstplatter. We thought it was odd that the meal literally took 5 minutes, or less, to come out. That, to me, is a bad sign. And I was right. The food tasted extremely bland and the sausages were dry. You could tell by the sausage casing that it had been reheated in the microwave, the wrinkled texture was a clear sign. The sauerkraut was swimming in liquid, very soggy, and the mashed potatoes were obviously box-made. And all that for $ 24? No thanks. Oh, and the beer is $ 9. Insane! Sure, the waitress was nice, but that makes no bearing on the meal and the quality of the food. Do yourself a favor and go to Schnitzel Haus for fresh, flavorful AND cheaper, German fare. Sure, the wait staff at that place may not have the cute costumes but who cares, you’re going to a restaurant to eat, not to get your jollies!
