It’s true, I go to Polar Bar weekly and every single time, I get a vodka tonic and french fries. I’ll sit outside, I’ll watch whatever game’s being televised to an otherwise captive audience, and I’ll watch all the people stroll down Lincoln Road. Service has always been totally on-point and you’re bound to find a bartender with a personality. I gotta say, as far as bar food goes, the burger here rivals some of my favorites and the fries are a must. They’re basic fries, sure, but I’m a big fan. Lately, you can catch people sucking down smoke from hookahs, so if you’re into that sorta thing, you probably can’t beat Polar Bar. I like it. I even think I love it.

This place is okay. The waitress was this cool Russian chick! I liked her a lot. She made my trip to this place a lot more enjoyable than what it really was. Our drinks were bit on the pricey side and the seating arrangement pisses me off. I hate when they sit couples too close too each other. What ever happen to intimate setting? Although I was with my Homoerotic Bff, I still would appreciate some privacy while we make fun of the people around us and people watch. Its a great spot to people watch. Gratuity is already included in your bill.

So i used to go here just because of the cheap beer… but last night when i was walking by with my boyfriend i witnessed something completely unnecessary happen. The manager had just walked outside from inside the bar and started yelling at the top of his lungs to a homeless guy telling him to go… the homeless guy begins to get out of there and the manager out of no where just smacks him down to the ground… needless to say i will never return to polar bar ever again and surely i will make sure my friends don’t either.

So here I am sitting at an outside table at Polar Bar. I’m drinking a Jai Alai IPA after a beautiful day at the beach and thinking what a lucky guy I am to be here at this place in this very moment. For those of you who don’t know. When you get here, pick one of the cool outside tables that are always available. Then, completely ignore the beer menu that the waitress gives you, walk into the bar and look at the cooler on the left. Pick the beer you want to drink, give it to the waitress and then sit back and enjoy(kind of like me right now). I’ve been rocking this place for years now, and honestly, this place is better than ever. Remember, this is Lincoln rd. You shouldn’t come here expecting the best service and price range. Cheers(and i am actually raising a glass with my left hand this time)!

There isn’t anything special about this place. We just happened to settle here because we wanted a beer and it was closest to us at that moment. I was a but annoyed at first because the waitress comes up to us and just flat out tells us she has no menus to give us except one drink menu. Luckily, we were not hungry, but what if we were? So, that was kinda odd. Otherwise, the beer selection was decent and cheaply priced for the type of beer we had… in fact cheapest I have ever seen in Miami($ 8 Duvel) and the waitress ended up being really sweet, attentive, and even hooked us up with some drinks that someone had messed up on. I would come back for a beer if I was close by… nothing to go out of my way for though.

After walking by this place 100 times, and seeing the same«99 beers for $ 3.99″ sign out front, I stopped by tonight for a couple of Banana Bread Beers and a chicken sandwich. I had been there a few times in the past, and all the beers were in fact $ 3.99. The bill came, and they were charging $ 8.00 for each beer! When I objected, the Eastern European waitress said to read the new fine print…“starting» at $ 3.99. I made a scene and had them take one beer off the bill. NEVERAGAIN!!! No wonder the place was empty… ITSUCKS!!!

Polar bar is a great place to hit up on lincoln. Its that«go to» place when your about done walking, shopping, or right after a movie. I like the outside seating, especially on cool nights. Drinks are reasonable for south beach prices and many nights they have $ 3.99 beer specials. I haven’t tried their food yet but it looks like your typical bar fare. can’t go wrong at polar bar!

This place isn’t so bad. In fact I think it is very underrated. Polar Bar. The name sounds ridiculous, and from the outside it looks like some crappy overpriced tourist trap. Yet go in, and it looks somewhat like a «real bar,» far more so than Zeke’s does. The beer selection is probably about half«fizzy yellow beer,» but otherwise there are some good options. I went with a Sierra Nevada Torpedo — can’t argue with that. With many of these beers, though, there doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason as to the pricing. With some beers the prices are very favorable, others not so much. Hey, I’ll take it — let’s just say I wasn’t complaining! I like this bar as an alternative to Zeke’s, or to just stop in and catch a game. It’s simple, isn’t pretentious, couple TVs for sporting events, good bartender, decent beers, outside seating if you want to see the Lincoln Road parade. Cool little dive bar.

Following my dinner at 920grill, some of my friends and I decided to go next door to Polar Bar. God it was terrible. They didn’t have half of the stuff on their menu, our waitress was a ditz, their frozen margaritas are a cup full of salt and ice, and they add a 15% gratuity when our waitress deserved a lesson in waitressing(sp ?) instead. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that I finally got to use a Hookah Pipe– even though it wasn’t quite my thing, it was a good experience! Save your bucks– go elsewhere.

Um… aint nothing polar about this bar. False advertisement. It was hot and humid. Bar service was slow as hell. I wouldn’t come here again for a beer. I think I got suckered by the $ 3.99 beer sign.

Stopped by Sunday night for a couple of beers since some friends were there. We had already eaten dinner down the road so didn’t bother to check out the food menu, but they do have a lot of bottled beer to choose from. Prices were very reasonable and the owner came outside to say hello and gave all 6 of us a round of beer from his home country on the house. That is defintely a good way to win the heart of a bunch of locals! I still prefer Zeke’s but one of the guys we were with had forgotten his ID(he is well into his 30’s but couldn’t get served) so Polar Bar was a nice alternative.

Not sure I’ve ever drank here, but let’s face it — beer is beer! GAH, did I just write that?! They seem to have a decent selection, but at any rate, this review is for the food, believe it or not. The fish sandwich is so freaking awesome! Order it with a side of onion rings and you will be a happy camper!

Can’t give this place zero stars so one it is. Pseudo extensive beer menu, first two beers I asked for were NOT in stock. Mediocre food and TERRIBLE service. This place treats locals like shit. Walk over to Zeke’s for $ 4 beers, where at least the servers are smug with EVERYONE.

Great place! Besides the clueless waitress, this place is pretty good. Perfect place to grab a beer and an inexpensive meal on Lincoln Rd and watch the people go by. No attitude and very friendly service. Will definitely return.

Eh, this place is never an option that crosses my mind. If I’m here it’s usually because there is nowhere to sit next door. This place rarely has specials & has a pretty limited selection of brews. There are usually seats open & the wait staff is hit or miss how fast they will be. The whole place is pretty nondescript. On the plus side, they do have a TV you can see from outside to watch sporting events. I just think there are places with better atmosphere and have better prices.

The service is terrible. The waitress didn’t take all our orders, we had to call her to order food. She got my order wrong(I ordered a burger and I got a chicken sandwich.) The food was good.

Great little dive bar located on Lincoln Rd. We sat outside, plenty tables to enjoy a quick cocktail and people watch. They had a sign outside for Happy Hour 2 for 1. Sure why not, five o’clock is about an hour away. I never fully walked in the inside but from what I could tell it looked very small with some local patron’s hanging out. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us excellent service. I ordered a margarita on the rocks. While my daughter had a frozen drink of some sort. She loved her drink. My margarita tasted like either inexpensive tequila was used or something weird tasting with the mix perhaps. OK, well it was not horrible as I had several but I do not think I could handle more than a few without getting sick. We did need a snack so we ordered some fries and onion rings. Basically, their menu consist of burgers, and a few sides. The fries were delish and even the onion rings were good. This is a perfect place for a quick drink with reasonable prices and great service. If my margarita was a bit better it would have been a four star dive bar for me. Still a cool place that I would visit again.

After a leisurely stroll done Lincoln, we were passing this place and a sign caught my eye. FROZENDRINKS. I am all about the frozen margs, frozen darquiris etc. oh and look… HAPPYHOUR :) DIVE yes SMALL yes CHEAP yes FUNFUNFUN yes!!! We sat outside to people watch. I got a frozen Rum Runner and Mom got a Marg on the rocks. The size was smaller than what I was hoping for and oh sooooooo yummy! and strong, did I mention strong? yes strong! $ 7 drinks that were 2X1 for Happy Hour… NOTBADDDD! especially for Lincoln. Service was good, good! We has a nice girl from Macedonia! She was very attentive and sweet! We also ordered fries and onion rings for $ 3 just to munch on and man, nice, greasy goodness! just what we needed for a Thursday happy hour! I will def be back to have another one of those frozen drinks to try all the flavors :)

Good little bar right on Lincoln Rd., near Michigan Ave. right next to Finnegans Two and opposite Books & Books. You can walk in there and grab a beer and a burger without any hassle or long waits. They often show sports on the flat screens. It’s a small sliver of a place. There’s more room out front on one of their two outdoor tables. You would think that it would be pretty mellow inside, and it is for the most part; but the last couple times I’ve been there I’ve seen some pretty drunk patrons at the bar. And boy were they LOUD. The type of folks that can be really loud without yelling. I don’t know how they do it. Must have something to do with their tonsils being soaked in alcohol or something ;)

I’ve stopped at the Polar Bar for drinks a few times when waiting to meet friends or when we were just looking for a place to grab a drink before dinner. I began stopping here simply because there are usually plenty of open seats at the bar or at the tables in front of the place. The service has always been good. Some drinks can be a little expensive when compared to some other places on Lincoln unless there are specials, and I’d avoid the pre-mixed frozen drinks that come from the machines at the bar unless you actually see them add alcohol when they pour them. I’ve seen them pour the frozen drinks from the machines and then add a shot of alcohol on top, but I’ve also seen them pour frozen drinks from those machines and tell customers that the alcohol was already in there. Once I got a Pina Colada and was told the alcohol was already in there; In reality there was little if any rum at all. If you’re looking for a place to have a drink and watch a game this would be a decent place as there are a few plasma TVs behind the bar and they’re usually showing ESPN and/or sporting events. In all, this place is good because it never seems overcrowded or terribly busy and you can usually always get a seat or a table if you’re with a group.
