The best Italian restaurant I have ever been in and outside of the U.S. Great fresh pasta and amazing seafood. Additional compliment to Felipe — who helped to make the best choice of dishes and ensure that the atmosphere is amazing. Beyond any expectations.

This was our 4th night in Miami and I have to say this is the 2nd place that we have had a wonderful experience. Most times we attempted to eat throughout the week, it was a complete disaster every time. Luckily, it was my 30th birthday and the second we walked in, we were greeted by Gilbert and a few other staff members at Osteria. We did not have a reservation but they were very accommodating to make sure we would be comfortable outside under the heaters. Our waiter was very nice, along with a great sense of humor, read the enticing specials. With that we started with the grilled Portobello marinated in garlic with melted Fontina cheese sitting on a bed of Arugula. So delicious! I then ordered the special, Lobster and Homemade fresh Pappardelle pasta in a creamy pink lobster sauce. My girlfriend had the Pesto Ravioli. Everything was amazing!!! From the service to the food, we gave more than the 18% gratuity because not only was the charge shorting the attentive staff but they deserved every extra dollar. I would love to recommend this place to anyone who loves true Italian food. I especially enjoyed Gilbert, owner?/manager? who could not stop cracking jokes along with our server. I watched him as he took over pouring water to guests or simply greeting and seating them personally. THAT is how you manage and serve your patrons! Any place that I have encountered over the past few days DONOT show any kind of care or attentiveness that Gilbert does. They surprised me with a delicious tiramisu cake with a candle and attempted to light it but it was too breezy so we laughed and I blew out the lighter flame. I’m from NYC and I understand and have experienced the competition of real authentic Italian cuisine and these gentlemen know how to get it done and make every dish taste and look amazing. Next time I come to Miami I will definitely be back. DONOT believe any bad reviews. Don’t pass this place up! It’s worth every penny and delicious bite! Thanks again!

Osteria del Teatro is one of the best restaurants in the world. Every time I visit Miami I make sure to come and bring my friends here and they always end up wanting to eat every meal here because no other restaurants can compare in terms of delicious food and incredible service. As soon as you approach the door the owner/manager greets you with the friendliest smile and escorts you to your table. The waiters are like synchronized dancers as they place both you and your guests napkins on your lap, then fill your water at the same time. I have honestly never experienced better food and service anywhere. I should add that I am vegetarian and my friend I recently went with had a ton of allergies, but it was not an issue at all. The waiter was so kind and the menu is extensive, so definitely a restaurant to make everyone happy.

The best meal in Miami. Was in south beach in December and on the last night before returning home my sister and I wanted a nice dinner. The place we were going to go(after a Unilocal find) was closed for business. we walked a block and found this GEM! We didn’t think we could get in without a reservation but since it was only two of us the owner made it happen. The food, service, overall experience was excellent. The pasta was fresh and the shrimp was well cooked and flavorful. If your looking for a delicious meal in south beach. This is a must!!!

I’ve been meaning to try Osteria for years and years working on Washington Ave but never took initiative until New Years Day. We were able to get a table without reservations, all the servers were professional and very attentive. We ordered the lobster mango salad which was very good with the exception of the avocado and mango being slightly under ripe. Garlic mussels were excellent and plumped(craving it as we speak!) and the lobster risotto was delish it was made in a lobster bisque base!

I have eaten here on numerous occasions and always loved it until now. We had a 7:30 dinner reservation and our table was still not available at 7:50. Our party of 5 including my 90 year old mother was asked to stare at the table’s occupants and shame them into leaving. Finally seated at 8:00, we had a waiter in the middle of explaining the specials run off to clear a table! Another waiter came over and the same happened. Since we were a party of 5 an 18% was automatically added! Although the food is excellent, we were all made to feel like we were inconveniencing them by being there. Truly disappointed since this restaurant had been a favorite.

Amazing. We were treated like queens. Every recommendation was perfect. Sage raviolis.wow. Home made pasta, not enough space to say how awesome this place is. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal service. Had a light meal– buffalo mozzarella appetizer was perfect, slight smoked flavor was so delicious. Homemade papardelle pasta with lobster was heavenly. Pasta was hearty and light at the same time. Sauce was creamy without being heavy. I would eat here every night if I could.

We had resevations at Quality Meat for a party of 5. Upon arrival we found the restaurant closed due to a blackout. We found Osteria Del Teatro on Unilocal and they said they could accomodate us… they did much more. Not only was the food excellent, the service surpassed all of our expectations. We enjoyed caesar salad, salmon with bruschetta, champaign chicken and pasta with lobster in red sauce. Each dish was excellent. And as i said the service was everything one would want, attentive and timely without being intrusive. But the highlight of the evening was when our waiter brought back our paid receipt and showed us that we had unknowingly added a tip when the restaurant policy is to add 18% gratuity to each check. We never would have known. Will definitely go back for more great food and welcoming hospitality.

Best pasta in USA. Mon coup de coeur en Floride. Service A1, cosy, always perfect. Accueil chalereux, attention aux détails, spécial de 18−19h et après 22h pour 25 $ incluant: choix de salade, choix de pasta et verre de vin.(Pas offert à l’année par contre) une façon économique de s’offrir cet excellent resto!

Wonderful homemade pasta in a cozy restaurant far enough away from the horrible food on Ocean Drive yet close enough to still do some people watching on Washington Street through the large windows inside. Staff is friendly and attentive but not overbearing. The owner is great and apparently very hands on. He was there and making conversation with his guests. I think it is very telling that local families were dining there. Underscores the fact that the food is good. Two thumbs up. Will bookmark this place for when I’m back in South Beach.

I am in love with this place. Service is AWESOME!!! My friends and I went there tot ry it out since it had great reviews. We ordered the pre fix menu for $ 25 which is salad or soup, pasta and a drink it could be beer, wine or soda. We ordered three different pastas. I have to say that the BEST Carbonara in the world is here. It’s super delicious! I had the clams pasta which it was great in flavors but I really loved the carbonara. While I write this I get so excited and I want to go back. Food is incredible. They just took a loooooong time to bring our food but, it’s ok. They knew how to keep us happy with the jokes. Loved it. Definitely this place has a lot of locals clients. Not a touristic place at all.

We received excellent service from the team of waiters. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful during our dinner. We ordered the black tiger shrimp(size of a lobster), squid ink pasta with seafood, and squid ink ravioli. The flavors were great. Seafood tasted great! The shrimp was ordered as an appetizer so we only got one. It was grilled perfectly. We went in for the $ 25 twilight deal and they let us upgrade to the other pastas and we paid the difference. This would definitely be a place to stop in South Beach.

I was really psyched to go here for many months. It started out with fantastic service and attention to detail. The bread basket is awesome– but… no olive oil and balsamic? We had to ask– served immediately. Awesome burrata platter I didn’t expect the prosciutto. For dinner I had the shrimp scampi it was served with a lentil bean side which I wasn’t fond of and a scalloped potato that was out of this world. The Shrimp came in the shell which was annoying– it was like getting lobster out of the shell! The service was very good and filled our wineglasses and water appropriately and cleaned the table regularly. The location is great and allows for great people watching if you’re at a window table. My only gripe is that we were sitting near the waiter station where we heard the constant clatter of silverware being folded and sorted– it was a distraction and kind of ruined the mood. Do your silverware work in the back of the house?!? I would come back but there are a lot of other places I would like to try first as the new guy in town.

Superb! The food is absolutely delicious and the service was great! Our waiter, Rafael, was very attentive and made sure everything was to our liking. I even ordered something that was not on the menu and they made it happen. The owner also makes you feel like royalty. He isn’t «stiff» and actually engages with his guests. I definitely recommend this restaurant to locals and tourists.

This is my new favorite Italian restaurant in Miami. We ended my bffs bachelorette weekend at this quaint restaurant off 14th and Washington in Miami Beach(literally right next to Cameo’s across Española way). We were greeted warmly and sat immediately. The restaurant is not huge but very homey and vintage. The art work and setup is traditional. It has a good wine selection with reasonable prices. We ordered a bottle of the Hess Cab, actually two of them. My sister enjoyed her Prosecco. Rafael attended us and was on point with every description he provided. He has a positive aura and was jovial in his service. We were a group of 7. Among us, I was able to try the special of the day: a lobster mango salad and the foie gras. I didn’t hear what the lobster salad had, but could taste the chunky lobster, mango, and I believe cilantro. It was very fresh and hearty. I ordered the foie gras, which was delectable! The presentation was stunning. It had an orange vinaigrette drizzle with arugula and raspberries. I will say the earthiness of the arugula and liver married very well with the sauce and raspberries, which I rarely enjoy. Very savory. My sister ordered the grilled shrimp stuffed with a goat cheese, buttery lemon sauce. I died and came back to life. Tasted a little bit of heaven when I was there. Because they offered, I took a fork bite from others’ dishes and tried the tuna tartar, which was not disappointing either. My favorite entrée was the squid ink ravioli stuffed with white fish(sea bass) and crab meat in a pink lobster sauce. Best ravioli I have ever had! Meaty, succulent, and mouthwatering good. I ordered the pappardelle pasta(large noodles similar to fettucini but thicker) with porcini mushrooms, garlic and a truffle oil sauce. Pasta was perfectly cooked. I gobbled it up. It was not a heavy sauce but perfectly served. They also had the same pasta with crab meat in a vodka sauce. The crab meat was very lumpy and fresh! All the portions could probably be split because they aren’t stingy in portion control. Because We like sharing, I tried a piece of the chicken parm which isn’t my favorite, but enjoyed tasting very much. If you like pesto, you must try the agnolotti al pesto studded with ricotta and spinach. For dessert, everything is homemade. I appreciated the fact that the dessert menu was the actual dessert bowl/dish you will be served from. We ordered the tiramisu which is probably the best I’ve ever had: perfectly creamy, cool, refreshing, had substance but not heavy, rich yet delicate! The bride to be wanted something sweet but not a whole dessert. Rafael asked what she liked so he brought over a piece of the chocolate dessert on the house. So if the food didn’t do its job, which it DEFINITELY did, the service absolutely sealed the deal. Rafael was beyond amazing with customer service. The owner/dishwashing boy/microwave bulb changer/water boy, whose name is really Gilbert, was the perfect host. He cracked several funny jokes with us and could not have equipped the restaurant with better staff and evident leadership. You could see that the staff truly enjoyed working there and under his ownership. More importantly they provided a great and unforgettable experience. The staff sang happy birthday and anniversary to other tables, so I asked if they could sing to the bride to be. Rafael immediately let me know they would improvise, which they did very well by singing«for she’s a jolly good fellow.» The bride to be absolutely loved it! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! Kudos to the chef, the team and Gilbert.

Miami Beach can be pretty intimidating for the neophyte visitor on a Saturday night when all the pretty people come out with their buttery tans and sculpted chest areas. I decided to fly out to Miami a day earlier than my conference since I’ve never been, even though I feel like I know the city from all the episodes I’ve seen of «Miami Vice», «The Golden Girls» and those Travel Channel specials on South Beach. I have to admit I circled Osteria Del Teatro twice before working up the nerve to walk in(photo: ). I wasn’t looking for a fine dining experience much less a theatrical one, more like the hidden gem that gets ignored by the local pretty people because it’s probably too fattening. As it turned out, this higher-end Italian restaurant turned out to be a surprisingly amiable place with solid pasta dishes well executed. Although I would have preferred an out-of-the-way corner table in the dim of my solitude, I was seated in the middle of the dining room right between two couples both out for their respective evenings of romantic celebration. I felt like a Peeping Tom singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the two sides of me. However, to the credit of the convivial manager and the veteran waiter, I was never treated as an afterthought. Much to my chagrin, they gave me as much in my bread basket as any other tables with the requisite curly-cues of butter(photo: ). The menu is quite extensive and takes a bit of time to review. I was very conservative and started with the simple $ 9 Caesar Salad(photo: ). No fuss, no muss, it was exactly what I wanted, a very non-committal start to my meal. But then I threw balls to the walls and ordered the $ 29(yes, $ 29) Pappardelle ai Granchi, quite a pile of homemade pasta rustically cut and luxuriantly lubricated with a creamy pink vodka sauce that was festooned with chunks of crabmeat(photo: ). The sauce was described as ‘light’ but it was far from it. It was beyond decadent to the point of being too much. I could have survived on half the portion that was served, and in fact, that’s what I left on the plate. No matter as I wouldn’t hesitate returning some day should I ever return to Miami Beach. Good service goes a long way with me. FOOD — 4 stars… rich pasta sauce & homemade pasta work for me AMBIANCE — 3.5 stars… tight quarters but quite nice in an older kind of way SERVICE — 4.5 stars… their trump card as far as my experience goes TOTAL — 4 stars… an atypically friendly South Beach restaurant deserves your attention if you’re in the area
