Planet Sushi

The rolls are really small and tasteless. True that it’s not pricey but still you have to spend a lot if you want to feel satisfied.
I took and avocado roll and it made feel sick after. The avocado on the top had a strange color (closer to white than to green) and a disgusting texture (like it had been frozen).
NOT RECCKMENDED.

The worst service and sushi. We had to wait 30 minutes to for someone to see us once we sat down at our table. Another 15 for her to bring back our drink order and take the food order. Then once the food finally arrived — the rice waste trilby overcooked or it was 3 days old. It was hard and tasteless. The fish was warm. Will never come back.

The place is a little bit too overpriced.
Server was too slow. Asked for check but came 10 mins later. The Salmon and scallop was not too bad though.

Ate here awhile ago and my experience was pretty good. It was a quiet night when I came here. As I had miso soup, salad and edamame. My friend had sushi as we watched them make from the tvs. Would come again and try more food

Maybe being from California u expect more from a sushi place besides tuna — salmon but 90 percent of their menu was only that — service was so bad we didn’t even stick around cause we couldn’t even get water — expected a lot better being in south beach — expensive — over rated on Unilocal — find somewhere else if u like variety and service

We had been disappointed with many of our meals in South Beach, but this place is a gem. Service was a little slow but not her fault (one server for the whole restaurant). The food was delicious. We ordered a few plates to start and ordered additional plates as finished the previous food. We had a good time and left full and happy.

After a long day on the beach — this hit the spot! Great hand rolls, great Lycée Sake.

The prices are pretty reasonable and I liked that they have pictures on their menu. The service was pretty crappy — it took about 15 minutes after sitting down before the waitress came up and even asked for our drink order. The fish was pretty ok but the rice — oh dear lord — the rice — it was either over cooked or it was 3 days old. It was hard and crunchy which made the rolls and sushi taste gross.

Not bad! I always order with them for delivery, I think they are a little bite pricey though but I guess it’s worth the money.

I’m positive I got food poisoning from this place. I thought it was a good idea to get sushi while in Miami. The next day really sucked flying across the country with what I’m positive to say was food poisoning. I’m glad the flight attendant (s) let me switch seats to sit by the lavatory during the flight (s). Worst way to travel home. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The sushi is excellent and sushi chef as at the top of their game. Great value for a South Beach and they deliver. If you want to shave off some carbs with a variety of rolls without rice, this is the place to come

I was starving and my wife and I just happened to walk by this place so we decided to grab a little Sushi for lunch. The restaurant is decorated very cheaply and has no appeal whatsoever but we were hungry and didn’t care much about the atmosphere.
My wife ordered the Hamachi plate which was presented perfectly but lacked any real flavor. The fish was cut paper thin and it was overwhelmed by whatever sauce they poured over it. I ordered the sashimi rice bowl and I have to tell you it was weird. The dish comes in a big bowl and I was like HOLY COW this is going to be awesome but it was a big let down. There was about 12 pieces of sashimi which looked great but once I picked one up they were cut paper thin as well. The dish ended up being 5% fish and 95% rice. It didn’t make sense at all as there must have been at least 2 cups of cheap rice.
Since I had about an ounce of fish and didn’t feel like eating a pound of cheap rice I was still hungry so I then ordered a plate of salmon sashimi. Once it was served I was pleasantly surprised to see there were 7 pieces of fairly modestly thick salmon that were very fresh and just melted in your mouth BUT the dish cost $ 30 so a little over $ 4.25 per piece. It was good but not that good.
Overall this place is on the lower end of the sushi places I’ve eaten at yet it has the South Beach prices. I’m sorry to say I cannot recommend it to anyone.

The TV monitors show you the sushi chefs making your food so that’s nice. If you check in with Unilocal you get a free miso. We ordered too much food: sashimi, assorted sushi rolls, edamame, seaweed salad and a veggie plate that had two types of veggie rolls along with veggie tempura. Very nice, convenient and affordable.

This place is full of surprises. It’s full of tacky neon, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that the sushi rice was perfect — short grain, not too mushy, not too dry, the perfect temperature! It was just above room temp meaning it didn’t chill the raw fish nor did it cook the raw fish. Delicious!
We tried one roll from every section on the menu, plus the sushi pizza. We also enjoyed watching the rolls get made on the flat screen TVs on the wall showing a live feed of the sushi bar!
Sushi was fresh and delicious, not to be missed are the salmon tartar, coconut shrimp soup (miso soup with unsweetened coconut milk and real shrimp) and the rolls wrapped in salmon. Those were delicious and delicate. Again the temp and texture of the rice is so important! This rice was spot on.
The sushi pizza is really heavy and filling, a perversion of Japanese ingredients put together in a ridic non-​Japanese way. Did we leave any on the plate? NO! It was tasty! =)
We recommend avoiding the «dessert maki» which were too heavy and sweet and getting the charming coconut sorbet instead. We’ll be back!

We started off with a ginger salad and it tasted as expected. Cold iceberg lettuce with the traditional Japanese style ginger dressing. We then had the Planet Yakitori which was a mix of meat skewers (chicken and beef). The beef with cheese inside was a little greasy according to the guests we were with. We had the Dragon and Spider Roll which were both very good. Nothing too fancy as far as presentation. Our servers were PJ and Emily which were both very personal and gave us enough attention so that we could enjoy private conversation. We waited a little bit for our check but we were in good company so it didn’t really matter. The ambiance was modern and the pink hued LED lighting added an edgy feel. I really enjoyed our seating in the corner booth which gave it a private party feel! I was impressed that they had multiple TV’s in the dining room which displayed he chef making the sushi rolls! That was the first time I’ve ever saw something like that. Definitely a great experience and I recommended it to whoever is looking for a lite meal, great service and modern casual dining.

This is the first time I had sushi in Miami. Living in NYC I am blessed to have access to excellent sushi. I was very impressed with this place. It was delicious. Well done Planet Sushi. The salmon avocado was perfect.

Als Sushi Liebhaber bin ich voll auf meine Kosten gekommen. Toller stylischer Laden. Bedienung sehr freundlich und das Sushi überragend. Die Sushi Meister machen das Sushi frisch hinter der Bar. Ein muss für jeden der Sushi mag in Miami.

Habe bei uns in Deutschland noch nie annähernd so gute Sushi gegessen wie hier im Planet Sushi Miami, was man hier fürs Geld bekommt kann man fast nicht beschreiben. Muß man unbedingt hin. Deswegen gibt es von mir die Höchstwertung.

wer Sushi liebt ist hier im Planet Sushi bestens bedient, das Ambiente ist auch speziell und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist perfekt! I love it…

Die Sushis bei Planet Sushi sind einfach SUPER! Ich war schon so oft und kriege nie genug :-)
