I came here to see my sister’s boyfriend’s band play and had a great time. There was no cover & there was a full bar with cheap drinks. The music was incredible, not just the band I was there to see but the other one, too. I will definitely be back.

they never pick up their freaking phone. My phone was either stolen there or handed in, but I cant get a hold of them and Im from out of town. We were lured in by the«free drinks» or so we were told outside… but then when i tipped the bartender he took double the amount i told him from my card. So an expected cheap night turned into 250+

«Free shots,» said the guy at the door. We were all like«YESSS.» We sat at the bar, asked for our free shots and drank ‘em. Then we were all like, «This is apple juice.» The place is a breeding ground of filth and cigarette smoke. The night I went a few foreigners frequented the place and asked to take pictures with us/of them. The pool table costs a dollar and change to play for about a half hour. I don’t think I’m coming back here ever again. Nothing special, but not horrible enough to despise.

Nice place for locals. The live music is nice, great beer specials and the food is pretty good.

This place is a fraud and a scam! The drinks were watered down. Had to talk to the manager about it. I think they add water to their alcohol bottles in attempt to scam drunk tourists! Shady spot… Stay away

Came here last night after a stop at Zeke’s. I had been meaning to check it out and it just the kind of laid back spot I anticipated. Beer was reasonable and plentiful. My companions indulged in shots of tequila from the very well stocked bar. Bartenders were friendly. We were joking with them because there were two large photos of Kid Rock and Tommy Lee next to the stage… where was the photo of Pam Anderson between them?! A few nitpicky items… we got the PBR and pizza combo. The pizza was advertised as cheese but came with pepperoni. Also, the bartender neglected to put our 2nd pitcher of PBR on the bill, so we got a second bill. After several rounds at Zeke’s and then shots and pitchers here, it was a bit confusing to sort out why we were getting 2 bills. Probably would not have been an issue had there been a modicum of sobriety. Bartender was very apologetic. Also… when we arrived, I asked the bartender if there was a jukebox. He said there was and pointed me towards it. As I was loading in my selections(12 for $ 5! Bargain!), a ponytailed guy approached me and said, «Hey, do you know there is live music tonight?» but before I could respond, he walked away. So, I continued loading up the box with my picks. When I returned to the bar, Ponytailed Guy was over at the stage area packing up his stuff and grumbling about how we had ruined his Christmas by overriding his set with crappy jukebox music and how we would just go back to where we came from(which is around the corner, but apparently he felt that the only assholes who would put the Grateful Dead on the jukebox must be tourists) while he would still be here making music with the $ 22 in his pocket come the new year. So, my friend let the tequila talk and yelled at him to STFU and start playing already but Ponytailed Guy was out the door with his guitar slung over his shoulder at that point. We asked the bartenders if we did something wrong, or if they had some kind of bizarre rule where as soon as a customer puts money in the jukebox, all live music is cancelled for the evening? But they just said no, nothing wrong, no worries, they pause the jukebox when live music comes on. About an hour later, the«real» live music came on. Not sure who the band was, but they were great and the place filled up and was quite festive.

We stopped in here on a Tuesday night. It’s pretty new(used to be a restaurant, bar, many different names in the past.) Now it’s a bar that wants to be a club. There is a nice stage and dance floor with a DJ. Tonight both the stage and dance floor were empty and everyone was sitting at the bar. Not the most interesting crowd at the time we went. Perhaps it’s better at different times.

Stopped in early on a Friday to quell the beast in my belly with some wings and rings. Wasn’t expecting anything special especially after smooshing 3 palmetto bugs while waiting for the grub. I was very pleasantly surprised to receive 6 giant terydactyl wings, sauce came on the side which initially was disappointing but when I tasted one naked I knew they didn’t need any sauce, these wings taste just like your southern aunties fried chicken, they’re great as is and don’t need no sauce. The onion rings are good too. And the new chef came out to make sure they were well liked, you, Sir, are well liked.

My name is Chris and I went to the Rock Shop on Friday night with my girlfriend. I had a brand new credit card which i had just activated an hour earlier at the atm. The bartender(a blonde, not the one with tattoos) swiped the card and then strangely wrote the credit card number down. My gf joked with her«oh so you do it old school here» to which the bartender just nodded and gave the card back. On Saturday I only used the card once at the ATM. Turns out that someone today made over 200 dollars of fraudulent charges in Baltimore using my card number. The only place anyone could have gotten the number was when i closed out my tab at rock shop. Not surprisingly the bartender did write down my cc number. This is pretty lame and not the quality of service that one should expect from the beach. Rock shop’s bartenders are doing shady things and getting away with it. My gf and I for one will never buy a drink there again. Please be on the lookout for such blatantly irresponsible and sheisty behavior.

Went there using a Living Social Voucher. They don’t open during advertised times. And when they did open I still had to wait 2 more hours for the kitchen to open. And when the kitchen opened I could only get ‘certain’ items from the menu. The bartender didn’t want to serve me until she could verify with the manager that They actually accept vouchers. The Manager acted as if he’d never seen a living social voucher before. It’s as if, when a business sells online vouchers wouldn’t they let their staff know???

Good place for a quick beer and good music in south beach. I’ve been there twice and liked the ambiance, prices and service(at the bar). They have live music especially on weekends and check in specials as well. Not bad at all!

I’m pretty sure I’ve been here before when it was called something else. It’s a pretty laid back bar with pool tables and djs. Went on a thursday night and ladies drank free! Points off the bat for that one. Since it is in a touristy location definitely expect the out of town Sobe goers!

You had me at «no show.» They don’t really operate during the advertised hours and even leave their employees sitting outside their venue waiting and wondering when they’ll be able to go in and work. We’ve been twice to visit this venue, once to grab a drink and the second time to use our(I believe it was) living social deal I purchased looking forward to some burgers. Each time we made the trip out to Miami Beach we checked the hours of operation and even made a phone call to ask some questions. And each time we made it out there(had to pay for baby sitters both times too, cha-ching) they did not open at their advertised 5pm. They didn’t even open at 6 or 7pm either. They never answered their phone and the pre-recorded message is a woman’s voice saying that you’ve reached another business, some catering company. Hey guys, just get a google voice number and forward it. If you make it out and end up reading this, try the amazing Mexican spot next door. They were our back up plan on our second visit to The Rock Shop Bar and did not disappoint.

I’ve only been here once and it was on a Monday. The people at the door was nice and there was no cover charge. There wasn’t a live band playing when we went but we were there at around 3am so maybe the band played earlier. The place is smaller but the atmosphere was comfortable. There wasn’t a whole lot of people there so we had plenty places to sit. They have two pool tables and also some couches are lined up against the wall if you don’t want to sit at the bar. They have a food menu, but it’s pretty much just bar food(hamburgers, cheesesticks, etc.). I’m not sure how pricey the drinks are because I shared a pitcher of beer with her. She told me she paid about $ 6 – 7 for the pitcher. The door guy bought us all some shots, which was a plus, and two of my friends who came there earlier had free drinks the entire night. I give it 4 stars based on that one visit and may try that place out again on a different night.

Stopped in here this weekend. Cool new place that has live rock bands. The bands playing the night I went were Argentinian and sung most of the songs in Spanish(which I don’t speak) but, the music was good. The second band that played was also pretty good. Beers are $ 5, I don’t know how much cocktails are. There is a pool table, so maybe when there isn’t a band playing you could play. It was pretty crowded when the band was playing. A little smoky inside. There is no cover charge. I didn’t find it particularly loud when I was there, but I think my ears are still ringing from Friday night(it is now Sunday). I’m sure I will be back. Nice addition to SoBe.
