I love this place. Everything there is awesome: The ambience, music, tapas and spanish food options are really great! Every weekend, after dinner, they get rid of the tables and the place becomes the hottest euro-latin night club in town. It really becomes in a must go place when in Miami Beach.

A few years ago when I first arrived in Miami, I used to hear a lot about this place, supposed to be a Spanish Restaurant by day and a pseudo Latin dance night club at night. Finally I took some out of town guests based on a couple of recommendations. There is nothing that annoys me more than a place that bills itself a certain cuisine and it is not, in fact far from it. This place is not only not Spanish, at best you could call it generic Mediterranean. The Calamari feels and tastes like it comes straight from a can, the tapas are dismally bland, no regards to the chef here. Made the mistake a couple more times and finally decided it was enough. There is probably a good reason why only 2 Unilocalers have rated the place and they only come out with 2 stars.

my friend performed here last thursday, i guess thats the only reason i went to macarena. ive been there maybe six or seven times, only to see a live band. never to eat because the menu doesnt really get my attention besides its way over priced. like, filete de tilapia for 25 $ 28 $? its tilapia, the budweiser of the sea. no thanks.
