This park is the cutest little pocket park in crowded Brickell! Note that it is a tiny, paved park, and there is no grass(so don’t expect to play catch). There are currently lots of white holiday lights adorning many of the trees in the spirit of the holidays(though I think these lights may be up all year). I like to come here in the evening before or after dinner. There are beautiful palm trees, a large banyan tree, and several benches for sitting and enjoying the view. Allen Morris Park is located on 10th Street in Brickell next door Perricones and Mary Brickell Village. The park is also located in close proximity to the Metro Mover station. I would definitely recommend Allen Morris Park to anyone who wants some shade and a movement of peacefulness from the crowded Brickell life.

Park? Really? More like: here’s a tree and Good luck with your life! If Allan Morris is alive, I should punch him in the throat. If not, I should still punch him in the throat.

I had to go and check this park out for myself. So on a hot summers day, I packed my kids and a picnic cooler up and drove 17 miles with no a/c and parked my car in the parking garage across the street at Mary Brickell Village and of course with no fore-planning had no idea of where I was going or what I was looking for. Well, we walked about the area for about 10 minutes asking people«do you know where Allen Morris Park is?». The responses I got ranged from«que?» to that«gethefucawayfromecrazywoman» look. Eventually we stumbled up on it after we had given up hope and had opted to take the«wee» train to Bayfront Park to have our picnic. It was right there on the corner where the steps to the 10th Street Station are. O’ Happy Day. Anyhoo. Thank goodness we DID find it because the little 5yr old one was about to pass out from carrying that big olé red Coleman cooler full of beer around. Allen Morris Park. What can I say. We came, we saw, we laughed heartily. And then we sat and wondered how many homeless have slept here, on these seats, in this relative shade. How many drunken fumbles have you observed in the dark obscurity of your tropical foliage. How much public funds have been invested and spirited away into the great unknown in your«upkeep» and«development». Ah, the City of Miami. We love you all the same, despite your foibles. [Foibles is a great word isn’t it… much underused and delightful to the eye]

I really enjoyed the 21 seconds that it took me to take a leisurely stroll through this park A really big Banyan tree provides plenty of shade and there are plenty of benches to sit on… it’s really only like four benches but since the park is smaller than my backyard and I don’t have any, it seems like a lot This review is already larger than Allen Morris Brickell Park Allen Morris Brickell Park doesn’t have a dog park frisbee golf soccer pitch swing set jungle gym pull up bars baseball fields tennis courts swimming pool party shelters working farm a lake mountain bike trails petting zoo suck it M.A.

This park should be renamed Big Fat Lie Park or Total Failure Park or We Think You Don’t What a Real Park is Park… It’s a corner with a tree and some benches, yes a corner, behind a restaurant and next to wait for it… yet another restaurant. There is nothing there that makes this place pleasant and much less a park, hello two consistent feet of grass would be nice. It’s insulting and sad to think that anyone would deem this pathetic concrete corner a park much less waste the time, effort, materials, and paperwork it took to turn this sad, little corner into a «park». Oh the shame, oh the horror, oh the generous use of the word: «park» Some people are in desperate need of a dictionary and maybe a tour of iconic parks of the world, not to mention maybe a trip down memory lane to fond childhood memories of time spent playing in an actual park. I’ve seen people’s private lawns that are nicer, I’ve seen lusher, bigger medians in this city while driving on the highway. Wait, maybe those are parks too? Anything is possible. Hope you enjoy my photo tour of this park. ;-)
