It must be a Florida thing to automatically add 18 percent to your bill. But hey its for my convenience. Forget the shitty service because we will charge you anyway. I guess I should be happy because I’ve never tipped less than 20 percent. Thanks for saving me a few dollars. 3 beers for 30 dollars? I live in New York and have never paid that much for three beers including tip, and I get good service. Thank god I’m leaving in a few days. 18% really?

Giselle, our bartender, made our night fun. She even got us milk for my dates Frosted Flakes. The only bad thing is they close @ 11pm on a Saturday night. Will come back!

The food was pretty good and the service was good but we are NOTHAPPY about the bill. We had a pretty pricey tab, which was fine since we had a few drinks. Since the bar tender was good we left a great tip. A few days later found out that TIPWASALREADYINCLUDED. I know it’s our fault for not double checking but I have never seen that before. Turns out we got screwed over by a few places in the area, they are trying to trick the tourists that aren’t used to that. If the bartender just pointed it out we would have still left a good tip but we ended up leaving over 40%, complete scam.

I’ve had lunch at Biscayne Tavern twice and both times were great. Good service and great food! I had a burger and the Cesar salad, both were delicious! Vasera was our waitress and she was very helpful and nice. The only problem we had was parking, in the area it is also difficult to find parking. On top of that you’ll pay way to much just to park for an hour.($ 7.00) PS — IFYOUPARKINTHEPARKINGLOTINFRONTOFTHERESTAURANT, MAKESUREYOUHAVEEXACTLY $ 7.00(if you use the machine) THEREIS A MINIMUMOF2HOURSANDITIS $ 3.50/hour

There’s one thing on my mind and that is the«Three-cheese mac with a bread crumb and bacon crust» It was deliciously made! The person at grilling area was very adorable because of his kind attitude. Before i forgot, there was something weird taste from their top water.

This was in our hotel and we wanted to have some drinks and food close to the room. Ok on food and decent beer and wine selection but way over priced. $ 75 for 1 glass of wine, 2 beers, shrimp app and a burger was way too much. The food was ok and service good. Took a long time to get food as well but they did split the burger for us. If you are staying at the hotel this is convenient but I don’t think it is worth it if you are not. I read that they add 18% tip to everyone’s tab but I forgot to check and tipped more. This is probably why I am dissatisfied with this place. We may stop in again before we leave so maybe I will modify this review.

Where do I start? I really wanted to like this place. Our server was very jubilant until he realized we had a Groupon. We payed 25 dollars for 40 dollars worth of food thinking(because we reviewed the menu online) it wouldn’t be more than 20 – 30 more with the discount. I’m still not sure how AFTER the Groupon, our 3 tapas items that sum to 10 dollars each and 4 drinks that were 8 dollars left our bill with a remaining balance 80 dollars? When I asked how this happened, he gives me a fast and confusing answer of «the codes with the hotel.» We were on vacation so we didn’t bother contesting. I warn you, if you are tight on your budget, be aware of the«codes.» I enjoyed the food I was able to order after I was denied twice from my original orders. Yes, they have a small menu and were missing 2 of the 10 tapas items they offer. If you do make it in, order the popcorn shrimp. OH don’t be fooled by the tin. Half of it is filled with lettuce. But the little you get is DELICIOUS!

The food was very mediocre. I had the wings, which were not what I was expecting as far as the taste(more of teriyaki taste instead of the sweet chili described by the waitress), the corn tasted as if it had been boiled instead of grilled and the shrimp were just okay. If you’re staying at the YVE hotel I would highly recommend visiting the restaurants in the area instead of eating here.

I’ve been called a barfly but I don’t want to eat with them! We sat a table near the Windows… farthest point from the bar and there was bar flies flying all around us. When we sat down the waiter gave us a beer menu… when we order our beers they no longer carried it. I was looking forward to trying their homemade chips and blue cheese fondu… they no longer have it. We ordered the beef sliders. There was 2 for $ 12 and they were cold. The Bang Bang shrimp were good. The wings were wings & the onion rings were onion rings. When we got the bill we were shocked the beers were $ 9 a piece. They added 18% gratuity even though there was only 3 of us. The service was terrible. Don’t waste your time or money!

Whoooooooo! Their rent must be ridiculous or they got greedy because the prices have gone thru the roof for this place. A little shrimp appetizer is damn near $ 14, LOL !!! Two little, tiny crab cakes appetizers are $ 16 !!! They were about the size of a half dollar with less then a nickels worth of sauce smeared on the side of the plate. A turkey club is $ 14…its turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato on toast. I have never in my life paid more than $ 9 anywhere for that sandwich!!. It used to be $ 12 and that was a little much but again, they have really tagged on some $$$ to simplistic food!!! If your local there are a ton of places to go eat that are amazing and half the price. Most of them right around the corner(Pollos Y Jarras, Little Lotus Sushi, Jar & Fork, etc…) If your company is paying then by all means have at it!!! Otherwise let the tourists coming out of the hotel get ripped off.

This place is located on the street level of the YVE Hotel on Biscayne Blvd. We came in at 9:30 pm on a Tuesday night and were seated right away. The place was pretty empty, except the bar, which we assume was filled with hotel guests. Our waitress was friendly and quick. We had the roasted half chicken and the Philly sandwich. Both were delicious. The chicken, which included a breast, was juicy and flavorful. The Philly was served on buttered and grilled bread, and was packed with thinly sliced roast beef and a tasty spread of caramelized onions. It was already terrific, but a side of au jus really took it to another level.

This restaurant is located inside the hotel. It was my go to spot when I was in Miami a few weeks ago. I’ve been here twice and I absolutely enjoyed the food. My absolute favorite dish is the Ahi Tuna Steak Sandwich. It tasted really juicy, well flavored, and the toasted bun made it a perfect component. Not only was the food good but the service was superb. The bartender and the waiters were extremely polite and attentive. I will definitely be back if I do decide to visit Miami again. P.s thanks Manny for the discount :)

Are you kidding me, the food here was GREAT! Came here on a Living Social deal… and it was fabulous… the food was amazing. Great Mahi entrée and a huge, huge Salmon dish. Large portions, well prepared, and really reasonably priced. The server was really, really efficient. The only thing I would suggest. dim the lights. Its as bright as an operating room. What a pleasant surprise…

Update: at the end of our meal, our waiter comped four drinks = $ 40. Adding 2 stars. This place is eh. The food is ok and the service is horrible(except for our bartender, who tried to make up for the waiter’s slack). He forgot our drinks(I had to go up to the bar to get it finally) and it took forever to get our food. My boyfriend had to find him and ask him what was going on. I mean, I’ve been a server — at least update people that the kitchen is running slow. Not impressed by this place. First time, last time. I think I’m going to ask that the tip go to our bartender, not our waiter.

As you enter the hotel this restaurant sits in, you immediately see Biscayne Tavern. From all that walking around Miami(especially if you parked quite a distance), at least be relieved the place isn’t hard to find. We were seated by the wall of TV flat screens(6 in total, 3 of which were playing the Heat game currently going on across the street) and welcomed by our server who, with our eyes closed, sounded like the actor Joseph Gordon Levitt. He explained the menu pretty well and during our time there, he was pretty attentive. So A on customer service. The food, on the other hand, gets a B. Not bad, but could be better. The pork belly sliders were OK. Enough flavor, but the pork belly itself felt a little overcooked to the point I had to chew a little more than usual. Perhaps it’s because the slices were thin, so it’s easy for it to keep cooking right after they were removed off the pan. Handmade potato chips and cheese dip were OK as well. The chips really needed the dip, so I can’t say I had enjoyed eating them alone. Though, I did like the thickness and there was enough crisp(I’m not fond of potato chips that are too thin), but the chips may have needed a little more salt. The cheese dip started out good, but because they used pure cheese, the dip easily cooled down and it got a little more difficult to dip. Oh, so that explains why the chips are thick. The shrimp dynamite was very good! I believe it’s the only thing we actually enjoyed on the menu. My boyfriend wasn’t too fond of the sauciness, but that was easily fixed by eating it with the bed of shredded lettuce that was at the bottom. It was as if this was just as good as a salad, because there was A LOT of lettuce at the bottom. No worries, we were not cheated, because there was a lot of shrimp on top as well. I actually enjoyed it, and I was able to appreciate it more with a cold glass of beer. If I ever come back, I’ll order the shrimp dynamite again. If you ever go here, that delight is a MUST and it’s worth it!

TOURISTTRAP The food is overpriced and sounds better in the descriptions than what you get back. I thought it would be great based on prices alone(writing this off as business, so high price ok) but I would rather go to Applebees than here. Biggest scam: $ 8 for three thin individual asparagus spears. EDIT: biggest scam is they add their own gratuity hoping you don’t notice

This was my second visit to the Biscayne Tavern. Both times I have dined here, it was before a Heat game. For this kind of experience this was a great place because the price of parking was less expensive than if I had parked in a lot for the game, and the restaurant was only a short walking distance to the arena. My first time here my visit rated as a four, but I felt the experience was a three on this occasion. I was a bit let down this time with the beer menu. I guess my memory was wrong, but I had imagined Biscayne Tavern having an even larger beer menu. My entire reason for coming here was to enjoy the beer options. However, maybe I should take some of the blame because to the majority of beer lovers, Biscayne Tavern will be wonderful for them as they really do have a decent amount of selections and a large assortment from Dogfish to Funky Buddha to Goose Island. I have been fortunate enough to have tried thousands of beers so when I go to a beer bar I hope and expect to find brews that I have never tried before. Biscayne Tavern offers a pretty good happy hour special with discounts on many of its appetizers and half price on wines and beers. On my first visit I loved everything I ate. This time I was a bit disappointed with the calamari. Not only was the flavor average, but it is served in a bucket and seemingly overflowing. But after only a few bites you discover that only 10% of the bucket has calamari while the rest is just stuffed with lettuce. The meatloaf and blue cheese potatoes were delicious! The atmosphere here is great! You can look out and people watch those walking by in downtown Miami. There are tons of televisions everywhere always showing sports games. The bar stools are much more comfortable than your average bar chair. They have huge chalkboards with humorous beer quotes such as «I only drink beer on days that end in Y».

How is it that I only just discovered this place? Walking distance from the metro mover and right in front of the trolly stop, there us no need to drive if you are from the area. If you are a commuter and want to hang downtown, watch the game(any game), there is valet and street parking. The Biscayne Burger was delicious; I got it with a side of sweet potatoes fries. The price is downtown Miami prices, so a bit pricey. But appetizers and drinks are reasonable. The atmosphere is casual and the service was friendly. It is downstairs from the hotel, so you can meet friendly people to talk to, without having someone try pick you up– that is always a challenge in Miami. I am going to check it out again during happy hour. It will be nice to have my very own neighborhood Cheers.
