I’ve been coming to this magnificent hole in the wall for about 5 years now, and it’s never missed a beat. The food is traditional, deliciously consistent, and by far one of my favorite go-to breakfast spots. Best empanadas, café con leche, and breva con arequipe I’ve ever had. This family-owned gem is definitely a place to feel at home, and eat like home… and I’m not even Colombian! ;) Go figure.

Been here a few times. Cafesito and colombian pastries. I am not sure that I would recommend it for actual meal(based on look of dishes), but haven’t tried it yet, so cannot comment. I really like their colombian coffee and the tequenos. Their empanadas are not the best, but ok to eat.

Worst place ever ive been to several colombian places and most of them are affordable and the food is good the service is always bad, extremely bad. I gave a chance to this place and i end up paying 45 dlrs for a soda 1 bandeja paisa and two desserts. Sorry But for that price i can have even a drink or two in a nice restaurant not to mention better food. Really dont know what are they thinking. NEVERGOINGBACKAGAIN!

Went for a traditional breakfast, but they didn’t have their calentado which is refried rice with red beans and a steak. Very disappointed. As you can tell on my reviews I love latin food and crave for latin breakfasts as it reminds me of childhood :(. Another time I took my family for dinner, the food was alright, however, very pricey for a small place hidden in a shopping center.

Recently discovered wandering by Kendall area I found this little gem in the Colombian Food restaurants in Miami. The Location is simple but clean and nice. We went during lunch time, they have lunch /day specials with very affordable prices. They have 2 soups of the day which you can repeat as many times as you want(only the soup) and your choice of main course or entrée in the menu, we also ordered natural blackberry juice, one with water the other with milk and both of them were delicious! We ordered Chuletica Valluna(Described as small deep fried breaded lean pork steak, served with white rice and fries, it was very good and surprisingly big portion. There is a wide menu with all the typical goods of the Colombian food. I have to come back and try other dishes of the menu. Waitresses are very nice and friendly as most of the Colombian people in the restaurant business. service was fast and courteous.

We used to be regulars and even ordered the«cantina» for a while. Good food and great prices. I would have given it 4 stars but my mom’s Colombian cooking kicks this places ass! Bandeja paisa really good.

So, hubby came home from work on Valentine’s Day and suggested we go out to eat so I wouldn’t have to cook. I, for one, did NOT want to sit outside of a restaurant and wait for an hour or more to get seated on such a busy night so I suggested we try a small«timbiriche» type restaurant and for some reason, I thought of Sabor A Café. We had only been there once many years ago when it opened at this strip mall and I knew that it had moved a few stores down to a smaller location. We get there and are seated immediately, SCORE! I ordered the bandeja paisa and hubby ordered the lomo de puerco with maduros, rice and soup. The soup came right away and it was delicious! The flavor was on point and it had tons of chicken and veggies and noodles, not to mention it was a good amount of soup. Next came my bandeja paisa and it was so good. The rice and red beans were perfect. The steak was thin but perfectly cooked(I am a picky steak eater:), the maduros were sweet and crunchy on the edges like I like them, the egg seemed poached instead of fried and the chicharrones were the best ever! Even the arepa, which in most restaurants looks(and tastes) like a hockey pock was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. My hubby got his lomo soon after I got my plate and it was also delicious! The lomo was perfectly cooked, the rice was fluffy and his maduros were also perfect! I look forward to checking out other things on the menu and am considering signing up for the cantina for a week or two!

Complete disappointment. We went for something simple to take home, coffee and empanadas. When I got in the car I bit into an empanada and all there was was potato. Normally it’s potato with meat, but I was like«where’s the beef?» Checked another and it was the same. The coffee was way too light, it was like milk with sugar and a drop of coffee for color. I took the empanadas back. The woman at the counter said that’s how they were and didn’t offer me anything — credit — money back — nothing. Pretty poor service for someone in a service related industry. Save your time and money and go to Panaderia 20 de Julio down the road — that’s what I had to do.

Average colombian fare with no frills… with a very home-made feel to it.

I come here all the time for their Cantina weekly service. Good food at a very good price! Also, the owners and staff are super friendly too! They remember all customers by name … A rarity in Miami! Service is excellent, customer driven for sure!

Came here for lunch with my coworkers… what a great place. The restaurant is clean and the staff has got to be the friendliest that I have encountered in a restaurant in a very very long time! Our lunch included all you can eat soup. On this day they had chicken and plantain… both amazing… but the plantain was my favorite. I also had the chicken breast with white rice and Colombian red beans… the chicken was a little dry but tasty… We have all decided it will be our once a week cheat place to go to.

Loved the restaurant, We have traveled to Colombia and always miss the soups Apart from the little potatoes missing the Ajiaco it was amazing. The Sancocho was just right with lots of meat Service was lovely and friendly Will go back on my travels to Kendal

I have been coming here for years. It’s much smaller then what they use to have a few doors down but the lunch is awesome. I always leave very happy;)

My Family owns a restaurant chain in Colombia so I have lived eating Colombian restaurant food my entire life. Every time I try a Colombian restaurant in the states I check every aspect of the organization. So far, this is the restaurant where you can get the best Colombian Food in Miami, Yes, it is a small place in the middle of a shopping center, outside is not inviting, the inside is not out of the extraordinary but it has decent service and the food is phenomenal.

My mom had been bugging me about coming here so I finally indulged her and took her for lunch last Wednesday. The place is in a strip mall, dumpy on the outside but not too dumpy looking on the inside. We got there super early and were the only ones there for the first 15 minutes. When we sat down, I decide to glance at my Unilocal app to see if anyone had reviewed it, and of course I see the lone 1 star review and see that Emily ate the same thing I ordered. Of course, I was like OHNO and my expectations dropped dramatically! But I guess I was lucky enough to go on an «on» day. The bandeja paisa for 10 bucks was really a steal. It included unlimited soup and salad, a huge steak(it says carne asada on the menu but it’s really a palomilla), a fried egg, red beans, rice, maduros, an arepa, and a huge chicharron. The steak and the chicharron were great, the soup was okay once I added salt, the beans were good and I don’t like arepas so I didn’t eat it. My mom liked her food as well. The service was also pretty spot-on. I will probably come back for lunch.

We were at this restaurant last night and had a fantastic meal. The grilled grouper was prepared perfectly, and the Vacio A La Parrilla(skirt steak) was very tender. I understand they have a weekday buffet which we can’t wait to return to. Service was great… very attentive. We will return!

By far, one of the WORST restaurants I’ve ever been to. I had the Bandeja Paisa at the recommendation of my friend, who is Colombian, and everything was horrible. The steak was rock hard. The rice was horrible. I guess the egg was ok. The service was good. They were attentive and helpful. That’s the only positive thing I could say about the dinner.
