U-Pick Kendall

Although only open December thru the end of May, this UPick has some good things going for it.
Its nice to have an undeveloped farm area in Kendall.
They grow beautiful Snapdragons and Sunflowers. Perfect for last minute gifts instead of the same old boring supermarket bouquets.
It’s also fun to come strawberry picking with the Chillens without having to drive South to Homestead.
They have plenty of produce in the shed but sadly theu don’t grow 90% of those items themselves. Some don’t even come from local farms. Just like the supermarkets here I supposet. Bummer.
During off season the little shed is closed but another vendor will park out front and sell goods like cold coconuts.

I love u-​pick. There is one closer to home, came to this one, as I was in the area.
Always a great experience. Fruits are very fresh and tasteful.
Only thing is that they don’t take cc :/​I wish they would get the app, to make it easier on us cc users.

The best veggies i have had in Miami. Zucchinis, tomatoes, eggplant, squash, parsley, onion white and red, strawberries, bell peppers, were AMAZING, tasting like real fruit and veggies!
I made a ratstouille and i could actually taste all different veggies. When cooked fully veggies stayed a bit crunchy which is rare!
A must!

Came here early February and didn’t find one good strawberry :/
When you do in the right day (or season) its a pretty cool activity. They don’t accept credit cards so make sure to take cash.

Hadn’t been here in years! Took my son this week with a group of moms/​kids and we had lots of fun picking strawberries. I did hear they use lots of fertilizers but nowadays I don’t know what’s even good or bad (or safe) anymore. Overall experience was nice. Kids had a great time and that’s what matters. We are going back this weekend as my husband wants to check it out. I might pick out some flowers this time around. They also had tomatoes.

I love this place. I went here a lot when I was a little kid and its still in business. I come here a lot with my little sister to pick strawberries and other things as the season changes.

I believe that all they grow here is snapdragon flowers and tomatoes or strawberries at a time. BUT they Do bring in fresh produce from local farms daily, of course changing seasonally. They’ll sell things like onions, peppers, avocadoes, tomatoes, mangoes, lychees and so much more.
So yeah… it’s not a real farm that grows everything they sell BUT I enjoy pretending that it was all grown right outside the shed I’m grabbing them from. :) it beats going to publix were most of the produce might not even be from the U.S.

Fresh vegetables hereeeeeeeeeee!!! Eggplant, tomatoes, corn, green beans, peppers, sunflowers, cilantro, brocoli, swiss chard, kale, dill, papaya, strawberries and more are sold here!!! come and look at what this local U-​Pick offers!!! Vegetables are super fresh! Last week, got some peppers, tomatoes and kale — these products taste different when you compare it to supermarket produce… it does!

I’m a juicer so their greens are beautiful. Huge bunches of kale, mustard greens. I also bought a lovely head of romaine, a bunch of cilantro and the DILL was so wonderful. My two year old and I picked some strawberries and a few flowers, which I’m looking at now on my mantle. Cute sunflowers. However, if she wasn’t with me, I would have just bought the really good looking strawberries up at the stand. Ours were lighter in color and by Sunday afternoon, there weren’t many to pick. I picked up some fantastic looking heirloom tomatoes, vidalia onions … and two pounds of yellow colored grape tomatoes. I noticed many over ripe peppers which I didn’t buy, thought they looked interesting for cooking though … sounds like from another reviewer that she got one that was rotten inside. Glad I passed.
Otherwise, honestly, their greens and tomatoes and herbs are awesome. WAY WAY better than the quality of shipped in produce from Whole Foods.

Awesome! For city folks who want to take their critters out for the day, pick stuff up off the ground, and convince themselves of delusions of grander… oh and really cool people explained how my strawberries were not poisonous cause I’m used to plastic wrap. So lets play Instant Farmer now… HELLO.

I stopped after seeing a few dozen people mulling throw the field on a Sunday afternoon. There are 2 stands selling produce directly for the less adventurous types. For those who want to pick their own, there’s a nice open field to walk through. Strawberries, tomatoes, sunflowers, peppers, herbs, and I’m sure other items were all growing and available.
I took my 2-​year old, and she had a bunch of fun wondering through, so this is definitely family friendly. After picking finding some über-​ripe strawberries, bright green peppers, and a couple of nice tomatoes, I also picked up a couple of Vadalia onions at the stand. $ 8 for everything meant that not only are the goods fresh, but cost effective too. Great place to stroll around in the open-​air and find some ingredients for dinner.

Great place to pick up some local produce. The strawberries were delicious & sweet. They are $ 2.50 a lb if you pick them or $ 2.75 a lb if they are ready picked at the counter. There’s also now more produce than before, from oranges to avocados & tomatoes to sunflowers.
The ladies working the counter are also very sweet. Support your local farms & stop by!

Great place to take your family and friends to pick strawberries and vegetables! Also if you need fresh ingredients for recipes this is the place to get them. Plus you support your local Farmers!

Farmville in suburbia — total fun!
«I remember when all this was farms,» is a familiar refrain from longtime Miamians. Thankfully, one can be smack dab in suburbia to experience that still-​present past.
Rows upon rows of tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, and more are available for picking. There’s even flowers that can be freshly plucked. For those who don’t want to play farmer (or go to the grocery store), their stands sell pre-​picked items, like huge vidalia onions.
Add friendly service and prices far cheaper than retail and you have a fun way to spend a few hours. Go enjoy it before the persistent rumors of this farm’s demise become sadly true.

This brings back childhood memories. If I am looking for ultra fresh produce, I come here. Excellent people and even better quality products. Picking out your fruits is fun too!

Very affordable organic products. Instead of buying strawberries at Publix, or paying $ 16 (Yes, $ 16, I bought some last week) at the Coconut Grove Farmer’s Market, we ended up paying $ 20 for 6lbs of berries, three avocados, a handful of basil, 1lb of tomatoes, and a handful of chives! You can’t beat that deal.
The lady at the front is very kind and helpful. She even gave us a jam recipe.
The reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is because their cherry tomatoes were not that great, most of them were split or on the ground. Maybe it wasn’t tomato season?

This place was pretty cool. It’s a fairly large plot of farmland with multiple sections – flowers and herbs in the front, tomatoes and peppers in the middle and strawberries in the back. They have even more stuff that’s already picked and Claudia mentioned all of that in her review.
I got some strawberries ($ 2.50) and tomatoes ($ 1.25/lb). It was a little difficult to find ripe ones (they were likely impacted by the frost and just growing back) and there was a family of five that divided and conquered (quite literally – they decimated the strawberries). The strawberries aren’t the mammoth ones that are about the size of three strawberries, but they’re very tasty.
As far as the picking goes, basically, don’t try to be all good-​neighbor-​ish and pick where you see other groups of people. Go far away from everyone else to increase your chances of finding the goods, at least when it comes to strawberries. There are tons and tons of ripe and green tomatoes and herbs, so no worries there.
The flowers are beautiful and very affordable and the cilantro is well recovered now. There’s tons of it. As far as herbs go, there’s cilantro, purple and green basil (give the green about 4 weeks – the frost took it all out), dill, flat leaf parsley, green onions, and chives. As far as peppers, there are red and green bell peppers, jalapeño, and cayenne, and maybe one more.
I highly recommend going here for the prices. Where else can you get strawberries for $ 2.50/lb ?? Even Sam’s is $ 6.98 for 2lbs and that’s better than the grocery store already.
Tip: Bring shoes with good cushion because walking in the irrigation ditches stinks with flat sneakers
I was still there at 5:30 and people were still coming in, but I hear it closes officially at 5. They likely just stay open as long as people are still coming in.
