Was there on a Sunday afternoon. Line was out the door, not surprising since space is limited inside. Regardless, I was excited and took this as a sign of a great food experience to follow. I was quite disappointed. I had the tacos al pastor; the pork was over cooked, the tortillas were flaky, and the flavors bland. Also had the coyo guacamole, again flavors lacking, avocado very little tomato or cilantro. Maybe they were running out of ingredients for their dishes? Service was pretty quick for the amount of people and seating plentiful outside.

Came here late night brought here by a friend. The food was pretty good very interesting place then there is a man that is standing in front of a door which leads you to a bar. Drinks were completely overpriced which is a damn shame. I got two drinks which both costed $ 60. Then if you go across the street you could have probably gotten 4 drinks. Totally not worth it but it was an interesting experience. I would never go back to that bar again. But the food is a yes again sometime

I would say I like the concept and the allure of Coyo but both times I’ve been the tacos weren’t that good. Not much flavor or seasoning and the hand made tortillas were nothing out of this world. One thing that I did enjoy was the guacamole and chips. Now only if they could get more seating for the masses that flock to this place.

This was our last stop this evening. My friend asked me if I was hungry. I wasn’t really. I just wanted another place to Unilocal. He pointed in the direction of Coyo Taco. Asking me if I had ever eaten there. «Nope…never even heard of it,» I replied. From the street, it’s a very inviting place. Not only because it stands-out amidst an endless sea of warehouses. Not because of their name largely displayed in brilliant lights in the center, either. What you see here in Wynwood these days, were old warehouses requiring minimal alterations for what is happening here today. These fairly large courtyards in the front of these businesses, at one point, were the parking area for the original businesses. Sometimes, just a small reception area leading you to the front door. Wynwood was never a «neighborhood» people moved to. It was always a warehouse district with some of Miami’s original older homes scattered about, that, nobody in their right mind wanted to move into. and that, is what greets you here. An open courtyard with communal picnic tables. Inside, more communal picnic tables. To your left, the food being prepared for you is visible no matter where you sit. You place your order at the registers you are lead to. Menus are provided on the wall, right there, before you order. It’s a simple process, but, I really don’t want to know what it’s like on a busy Wynwood night. The whole process is taking place in a very confined small area in the immediate entrance of the dining room. You are given a number, you place that on your table of choice, and, wait for your food. Simple… very simple. My friend suggested I try their Chicken Quesadillas. Sounded light enough. I was, after all, not even hungry. I couldn’t even finish it. Folks, these are not your«Denny’s Quesadillas.» Where you are served a thin Quesadillas with what appears to be «cheese» nuked in between. Glueing the two tortilla slices together, permanently. In a metal baking tray, you are brought four pre-cut slices. Obviously, from the same two round tortillas. Topped with all the delicious goodies our friends in Méjico would love. Inside the tortillas, plenty of chicken and more goodies. It was like eating a pizza. A small side of sour cream is provided. You’re going to need utensils to eat this marvelous American culinary invention. I saw their tacos from afar. This ain’t Taco Bell folks. I’ll have one of those next time. They look DELICIOUS and nicely loaded. I need to come back here, just for this Quesadilla. I was at an unrelated Event last night just down the street and was going to stop here, but, it was raining last night. This business is very loud. Something or another that they have a club in the back. I wasn’t feeling it and very glad my friend forgot to give me the tour. I don’t know about you, but, Hipsters and«Thug Life» music just don’t sound right. Which, was the apparent theme on this night. As the music intensified, more Hipsters kept showing-up. Sorry…I just wasn’t feeling it on this night. On another night in the future, maybe. But not on this night… I just couldn’t.

Great tacos, great back room ambiance where you can enjoy happy hour with friends, good music and great cocktail. Happy hour prices are welcome and the margaritas are very good. Bartenders are rad too.

Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, churros, margaritas, beer, a small club/lounge in the back. Yeah, Coyo basically has it all. This time around I checked out Coyo earlier than I usually do. This spot closes at around 3am. I came to grab a quick bite with some friends. I ordered my favorite taco from Coyo, shrimp tacos! I wish I would’ve taken a picture of it but I couldn’t wait to eat it as soon I ordered it, sorry Unilocal fam! Just trust me on this one. My friend order the«pollo»(chicken) tacos which always tend to break in pieces for some reason. But I’ve come here plenty of times I can get vouch for almost every item on the menu, all good! Quesadillas are my go to quick meals wherever I go and the ones here won’t disappoint you, chicken or steak! Cheese if you’re a vegetarian. As we finished eating our tacos my friend and I heard the music in the back lounge/club playing. It was around 10pm so we said why not grab a beer and enjoy some tunes for a bit before we head home. We went straight to the back. The lounge is really dark and has 1 bar which is pretty big for the space itself. Grabbed a few beers and let the DJ kill his set. The music they play is an open format for the most part. The lounge was pretty empty compared to how it gets on the weekends but it’s great vibe to hang out and have some beers. P. S. The lounge in the back is smoke friendly ;]

Great taco place that is unpretentious and so yummy. It seems that tacos are taking Miami by storm; taco shops have been sprouting like wild flowers. Be warned — not all are created equal. Coyo is one of the better ones and worth the consistently long line. Guacamole Bowl is amazing! This is mostly because the COYO guacamole is amazing. I turned the chicken Pastor taco into a guacamole and was so happy. The roasted pineapple complemented the guacamole and green rice perfectly(I passed on the beans). The factor that kind of weirded me out was that my dish was served in metal … dog bowl(??). This was funny but I would prefer if the dishes felt a little more conventionally. Tacos are small but an order is quite filling. Do not make the mistake of forgetting that 2 tacos come in an order. We did and ended up with six tacos when what we really wanted was just three — oh well! More for eating — lol. When it comes to actually eating a taco, I’m a beef girl. That means carne asada and alambre. Although next time I want to add the pollo al carbon too. It doesn’t matter what you get — its all so yummy. However, not sure if I would prefer to come here or to Tacos and Tattoos. Both have long lines and great food — are either really worth the wait? Coyo lost a star because the day I went the credit card machine was down so they were only accepting cash. I left the line in order to go get cash at Midtown. I come back and find out that indeed the credit card machine was down, but the cashier did not want to go through the hassle of manually typing in each credit card number. By the time I got back management had fixed the cashier but this was a serious annoyance. Anyways, if I were you, make sure you have cash!

I have frequented Coyo Taco on many different occasions. Whether it be lunch, dinner or late-night, after hours eating, this place always hits the spot. I have tried the various tacos, quesadillas and guacamole that is offered on the menu and I cannot say that any of it has disappointed me. Food tastes fresh and comes out quickly, regardless of how full this location may be and it is generally always filled to capacity.

This review is based on the tequila bar. Its cozy and dark and had a full bar, not only tequila. They loose a star for having to go thru Coyo to enjoy it. The music is a hit or miss and it gets packed so come early if you want to sit down at one of the couches.

I have to say how great Coyo staff are. The bar is super dope. The freezer works, bottled or on draught it is icy cold. Small place, big line. Right next to me, somebody elbows me. They finally leave.

I’m not sure how Coyo has an overall rating of 3.5 stars, very surprising actually. It is probably has something to do with Miami’s complete lack of Mexican food. We went this afternoon and I ordered the carne asada tacos along with the Cochinita pibil. The tacos were not warm, not room temperature, they were actually cold. Disgraceful. To Coyo’s credit, they remade the order very quickly. Unfortunately they still lacked any real flavor. Their homemade salsas are not good, first time I have ever reached for a bottled salsa over a restaurants homemade product. Very sad.

Love it! This is my first time here and at first I was a little overwhelmed when considering all the yummy-looking items on the menu, but one of the servers recommended the Quinoa taco. To. Die. For. And the Octopus tacos were amazing, as well! The octopus was seasoned better than a lot of these neighboring restaurants who serve grilled octopus as an entrée. I’m so excited to revisit this spot so I can try some of their other menu items. As far as seating goes, it’s a small place and from the looks of it, it gets quite packed. I recommend finding a table as soon as you walk in and have another person hold it down while you order the food. Definitely recommend it. The most authentic Mexican tacos in Miami that’s for sure.

Super busy and trendy taco spot in the Wynwood neighbourhood in Miami. You go inside to order and a porter brings the food around to you a few minutes later, wherever you end up. I ordered the grilled fish tacos along with an order of guac/chips to split with bae. Both very tasty. He got a couple of pork/meat variety tacos, which he said were good. Seating is slightly hard to come by as it is very limited. Please don’t be the person who sits holding a seat for someone for over 30 minutes while others have to stand and eat. Don’t be that guy. Yeah, I am talking to YOU. Anyway, the food was pretty good, not sure if I would return due to the crapshoot likelihood of finding a place to sit and enjoy my meal.

It’s pretty good… for Miami. It’s hard to call it Mexican food though, coming from Los Angeles when you know that they don’t use black beans at Mexican restaurants and tacos usually are $ 1.50 each on average not $ 4. However, it is Miami which is not very close to Mexico. So they don’t have Tapatio, but they have Valentina hot sauce which is still legit, except that the bottles seem like they’re mostly full since they are hardly used. Instead of Spanish rice that’s usually red from the tomatoes, they have arroz verde. Another guy sitting across from me who was from Kentucky also asked why it was green. I guessed it may have been from blended cilantro that they must have used to cook with the rice. It is definitely a hipster joint and I heard their bar in the back is pretty cool at night. They play hip-hop which is cool, but then in between they played a rock song which made it seem like they had their iTunes on shuffle. I would appreciated the consistency in their music genre. However, I can’t complain about the tacos, their carnitas de pato was pretty good and so was the arroz verde along with my black refried beans. I also ordered the chia limon which was also on the sweeter side than what I’m used to. For agua fresca, I’m used to the juice not needing as much sugar but there’s just seemed to sweet. The person that took my order corrected me and said«chia lime?» To be honest, I don’t know why, she did since it says«chia limon» on the menu and I read it exactly as it was written. Meh, I’ve had better, but I’ll still give it 3 stars because you can’t expect authentic Mexican food in Miami, at least say«Mexican fusion», since it seemed more like that. I mean, really? They don’t use quinoa in Mexico.

I came in here with low expectations since I find most«trendy» Mexican spots over deliver on presentation and under deliver on flavor. I found this plan fantastic!!! Honestly some of the best tacos I have had in a long time. I ordered and shared the pulpo(octopus), pescado, and the alambre and all were great but I must say the alambre taco I will be dreaming about for years! Dive spot in cool wyndwood area. Alcohol section is not great but love everything else about the cool vibe. P. s if you want to feel extra cool(cause I did) push through the back door that says«employees only» and you will come across a hidden bar/lounge in the back.

This is a good place in the heart of Wynwood to get some street style tacos! They’re open late and also have different events on some nights. The tacos and burritos are all very good. The tacos are made with fresh corn tortillas and the meat of choose. The burritos are made with whatever taco you like, but burrito style. The food overall is good, especially if you’re in the area and wanting tacos. The only downfall of this place is the seating. Although they have added more seating outside and shade, it’s still very difficult to get a seat. The lines can get long, especially on weekend nights, but that’s a given… For you’re in the area, it’s worth the try!

I was in Wynwood to watch a movie and we went out for drinks afterwards, Wood Tavern was packed because of their Back to The Future event. Coyo Taco was immensely packed for a Wednesday night. I was not aware that they served alcohol or that they had a small club inside. It was easy to find parking, service was quick. After you order they provide you with a number and bring the food to your table. If you’re going with a big group like we did, I recommend you get one of your friends to save your seats. It is usually always busy when I have walked by. We ordered margaritas and shrimp tacos, which are a MUSTTRY! They play all kinds of music and I love that it is a casual, nonchalant environment. The food is great and the wait for your food is not long.

After walking around Wynwood, I actually worked up an appetite even though we just had lunch at Alter a few hours ago. And I thought taco would really hit the spot after walking around and drinking beer all day. Not sure what to order from their menu, I just picked a few tacos I had at other places. Maybe because we are in Wynwood, I find their tacos a bit pricey. People seems to like their food because this place was packed when we were there around 4pm. I like their open kitchen because you clearly see how your food is prepared in front of you. The kitchen seemed very clean which is always a good sign to me. They have a very good organized system delivering food out fairly quickly. I guess the tacos I ordered were just okay because I dont remember what I had, nor how they tasted. But the next time if I were in the area beer hopping, this would still be the place I’d hit before going home.

I love tacos. Like, a lot. So, when I was in Miami, I was definitely excited to stop by Coyo Taco in Wynwood for my fix. Most times, if you think of a quick-serve taco place, you might be thinking of that Bell spot where everything is, well, gross. Hate me now if you love it, but you’re doing tacos all wrong. In fact, I don’t even know why we’re discussing this. So, I’ll continue. Let’s imagine a place that serves up Mexican street food, where the ingredients are handcrafted, locally sourced, 100% natural, and the meats are naturally raised and humanely treated. Too good to be true? Perhaps, but it exists at Coyo Taco. And, did I mention it’s all served up quickly and super affordably priced? Well, I just did. I ordered a couple things, and started with their Elote De Calle(corn on the cob, chipotle aioli, cotija). I absolutely love Mexican street corn, and this was really delicious. You really can’t go wrong with a fresh ear of corn, grilled, and smothered with all the goodness of chipotle aioli and cotija cheese. It’s science. The only thing I will say, is that I only noticed after I ordered, that they offer Esquite, which is off the cob. Because, let’s be real, there’s no glamorous way to eat a huge thing of corn on the cob coated in aioli and cheese. Then, I had the Pulpo Tacos(hand pressed flour tortillas, charred octopus, salsa veracruzana, pickled jalapeños). I’ve had my fair share of octopus at some more upscale restaurants, and for only $ 9, these are a strong competitor. I always appreciate a stuffed-to-the-gills taco, but, you’ll need to bust out the fork and knife at some point for these guys. The flavors are all outstanding here, everything is fresh and each ingredient pops. The charred octopus is tender, and had that great smokiness and slight char on the outside. They were amazing.

I remember the masses swearing by Coyo when they first opened, so I was little surprised when I finally checked in and noticed the overall rating wasn’t 4 or 5 stars. Turns out, the overall rating of 3.5 stars is definitely more like it, as nothing really blew me away. On the long haul of a beer crawl around Wynwood we decided to refuel with some tacos at Coyo. The tacos come two to an order for ~$ 9 which is pretty steep, but didn’t deter us. And since we couldn’t mix and match the two tacos, we each tried to pick something different and share that way. After placing our order at the counter our food was then brought out to us. Pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon, so despite finding enough room at the tall table, there weren’t enough chairs and some had to stand and eat. I think I tried — **The Shrimp — eh, nothing special. **The Duck — I had no idea there was such a thing as too much duck, but this is it. **The Octopus — VERY spicy sauce, but perfectly cooked. Probably my favorite. **The Pork Shoulder — my second favorite. Lot’s of flavor in the meat. **Chips — with about 7 different salsas to choose from, you need to go ahead and order some chips. **Sangria — despite it being a beer crawl we ended up trying the sangria. Too sweet and no alcohol. Can’t say Coyo Taco is near the top of my list for tacos in the area, but I’d give it another go if I was nearby and someone else in the group selected it.
