I still go there and they’re still as great as ever. In addition to their services being superb they’re such lovely people. Can’t recommend them enough.

DO NOT USE THIS CLEANER! They’re dishonest and ruined 3 very expensive items I brought in. They also altered my items without my permission. I just moved to Miami and found them on Unilocal and thought I can trust them. I’ve used them 3 times and the 1^st time everything was fine and the 2^nd time they ruined a Michael Kors cashmere sweater that cost over $ 1,000.00. It’s a super cashmere sweater that never pills and looks brand new for many years. When I got it back it was raggedy looking. I mentioned it to the owner’s daughter when I dropped some more clothes off and she said that her mom usually washes them by hand, which explains why it looked like it was rubbed roughly. I requested for dry cleaning though. I didn’t make a big fuss about it since I figure I won’t need it in Miami; however, it should not have been washed by hand when I requested for dry cleaning. But this last trip made me furious. I brought in 2 pairs of Armani leggings that cost $ 380.00 each. THEY RUINED THEM. Both were stretched out by over an inch in the waist when I got them back. The leggings are made of thick jersey that does not stretch out of shape. I took them back to see if they can do something. The wife asked me to try them on and when she saw how much the waist had stretched out, she offered to «fix» them (they do alteration there too). I said no because I already had them tailored and I do not trust them. I said no. So she said they’ll clean them again hoping they’ll shrink back. I was hoping the waist would shrink back with another cleaning. Today I picked up my leggings and when I got them home and looked at them closely, realized they had altered the waist without my permission! I can’t believe they feel it’s ok to deceit a customer in such a manner. I sell high end women’s designer clothes so I am very aware of every thread and deatil on clothes. The alteration was done very poorly and I can see where she had opened the waist band and sewn it back unevenly. The fabric on the waist band is stretched out of shape from her poor quality of work. The wife called me back and apologized and admitted she had done the alterations without my permission. She said she used poor judgement. This is the worst cleaner. In the end she offered to pay for my alteration bill to get them fixed but she has damaged the fabric. I asked her why she didn’t tell me she had altered them when I picked them up and she had no answer. Both the husband and wife were there and not a word about the alteration. They were obviously hoping I wouldn’t notice. I’m disgusted by this experience.

I ran into this dry cleaner for an emergency dry cleaning of my suit. They did it the same day and refused to accept any more money than it cost. I just wanted to tip them but was nice to see they were just very happy to help. I assume he was the owner but he was a very kind and gentle man.

What impressed me the most is how friendly they are! So many times people don’t have the time to greet you or even look at you — so it was a nice change of pace to walk into a business and be greeted kindly! I dropped off a handful of items and required some alterations — all done great. I will definitely be back.

They did a good job on the alterations I brought in. The price was very good compared with other stores in the area, and service was friendly and attentive. Now that I know where it is located, I’ll be returning. It is easier to access it when driving on 27^th Ave/​Dixie Hwy; on 203^rd St. you can miss it easily.

Way more expensive then Chicago. Wasn’t done when I was told it would be. But prices were obscene compared to what I was used too. Next time I will pack more carefully to avoid the need.

I am from Los Angeles, and I was going to get married in Fort Lauderdale I called a day before flying into Florida and I requested a quote to dry clean my wifes dress the owner was very honest with me he told me he couldn’t give me a quote over the phone he needed to see the dress but he did say it would be from 40 – 80 I believe. Before getting there I thought I would be charged $ 80. I got there and I think the owners are a couple very very nice people! the owner remembered my phone call, he looked over the dress and he told me it would be $ 50 if I thought it was a fair price and I told him yes! I was excited I wasn’t getting ripped off, my aunt who previously owned a dry cleaning business here in L. A had told me she was sure any dry cleaners would try to charge me a crazy amount, but Excel Dry Cleaners and Alterations charged me a very very fair price. When I picked up the dress the owner gave me instructions on how to handle the dress, very nice people I would highly recommend them!

Best dry cleaners in town! I recently moved to South Florida and was in need of a reputable dry cleaner because I’m in suits all day. I went there after reading the reviews and they are spot on. The service is great, my suits are always perfectly cleaned and pressed. I’ve also had some alterations done and she’s done a great job.
And, as everyone has said, the couple that owns the place are just lovely people. Picking up my dry cleaning used to be a chore but now I’m glad to stop in and say hello to them. They’re awesome people :)

As mentioned by others, the mom and pop feel of the store has kept me going back. They know your name after a few trips and will make sure your laundry needs are met.

As others said the owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. I love how they remember our names even though we don’t go there daily. Their prices are almost half what these other places charge. I am extremely picky about my clothes and have had some unsatisfactory experience with other places and am shocked that these other places can get away with charging double.
They have a 2 – 3 day turnaround so if you are in need of getting your stuff the same day or overnight you may try someplace else.

Flew into town at the last minute for a funeral, and needed some pants hemmed in an emergency. They went above and beyond to help me out, and make a tough day more bearable. Highly recommend them!

This place and the (husband and wife) owners are absolutely wonderful! They’re friendly, eager to please, and honest about their prices. I had two items dry cleaned and when I picked them up, the wife knew me by name! When I told them that Unilocal’s reviews referred me to their business they were ecstatic and I thought I could only do them justice by providing other with a review to portray their excellent service. Their prices were affordable, their demeanors are genuinely kind and friendly and I’ll be coming back. They even offered me a lollipop on my way out!
Also, my GPS didn’t direct me correctly to their address. For those who are also lost without their GPS, they’re on the corner of West Dixie and 203^rd St. In a pinkish beige plaza with a car shop and a café. If you go through the light at 203^rd street, and make your first left you’ll be there!

The service is wonderful. The husband and wife that own and run the business are so warm, friendly and efficient. I’ve received alterations and dry cleaning services here and my clothes have always been on time and look great. They don’t accept credit or debit cards under $ 20 worth of service, but twice they’ve given me my clothes and allowed me to come back to pay. I highly recommend their service.

I’ve had issues after issues with cleaners in the North Dade/​Broward county area and I’ve FINALLY found a place that knows their stuff. I have spent a lot of money on quality garments and am not opposed to paying for quality service. This cleaners completely took me by surprise. Included in my first try with this shop was a shirt with a button that wasn’t missing but rather had been cracked by my last cleaners. While it was a nuisance, I didn’t care to mention or even expect them to address it… After picking up my clothes, it seems they replaced the button without my even asking.
I had only tried them once and they immediately knew my name when I came to pick up my cleaning. These shop owners are not simply looking to become a neighborhood cleaner, they actually care about what they do and the people they serve. We talked about family, the economy, politics, etc. This is the kind of small business that should be supported and allowed to thrive.
I’m happy to have found this cleaners and am relieved to have a place that is not only reasonable in price, they do a great job and it’s become a friendly place to visit rather than just a weekly run to the cleaners.

What a refreshing experience. Just having moved to the area from Chicago, we were looking for a reliable and affordable dry cleaning establishment to use on a recurring basis. After searching through many different listings with people having problems with service or prices, we decided upon Excel. This place satisfied both requirements and couldn’t have been a better experience.
The husband and wife owners were extremely personable and attentive. From what I recall speaking with them, they have been in the business for 25 or so years but just opened this location 2 or 3 years ago. They waited patiently as I had quite a few clothes to process, many with tricky stains and such to deal with. They gave me the option of quick turnaround, though I let it go about 4 days since I had the time to wait.
When I returned to retreive the clothes, the owners immediately greeted me by name. By name! I had only been there once and they remembered as soon as I walked in the door. How often has that happened to you with your dry cleaners? Another customer was in the store and obviously had a great relationship with the owners, talking as if they were good friends. Overall, a very warm feeling for what is usually a very mundane experience elsewhere.
As for the other important piece of the puzzle — the clothes — all of the stains were removed, all were perfectly pressed, they even found a personal item in my suit and wrapped it in a bag and stapled it to the receipt. Talk about someone who really cares about what they are doing! I will be a loyal customer for as long as I live here.
Prices were very reasonable compared to other locations in the area. Of course pretty much everywhere in town I looked up was more expensive than I had experienced in downtown Chicago (strange), but the quality of service here as well as the friendly atmosphere more than makes up for it. Let me reiterate — the prices are very reasonable here.
The location is convenient if you are heading west on Ives Dairy or south on Dixie Highway since it is right on the corner of both. However, returning from the north/​west side I had some trouble getting there efficiently since that particular intersection does not allow great access from the west on Ives Dairy. Heading further south on Dixie takes you much further south than you want to go if you normally take Ives Dairy to US1 south. I’m sure I will figure it out eventually…
Oh, and if you are searching for this on google maps, they have the correct location listed even though the street view picture doesn’t show the actual store as being in existence yet.

As soon as I walked in to Excel Cleaners for the first time, you get a great vibe from the place. The owners are super nice and attentive. I gave them a practically impossible alteration task and they made it happen.
I wish we had more local shops with this ‘can do’ attitude!
I will definitely be back here for all my dry cleaning needs.

You know those mom n’ pop shops where you walk in and they remember you, are happy to see you, and do quality work? That’s Excel Cleaners. The owners run the place and it shows. Quality work and AMAZING customer service. I drive by 3 other cleaners just to get my clothes done here.

The type of place where the staff remembers your name and exactly what you dropped off. The service is fantastic and the cleaning itself is done well. No complaints!
Note: They’re closed on Saturdays after 4 and on Sundays.
