The Worst check in my life, waited 15 min on the table and passed waiters and did not treat us the same way we came out, nor They realized when we went and the place was not full to say, inattention there honestly do not recommend it unless you want to spend a hard time …

Amazing! Best cocktails anywhere! Atmosphere super cool. Food absolutely delicious. Although this is a bit out west, it’s worth the drive! You won’t be disappointed!

I love this place, I’ve been here plenty of times and I every time I can’t wait to come back. My all Time favorites has got to be the Tostones with vaca frita and the Cuban fried rice. I am not a big fan of sea food so I always order the fired rice with chicken. I love the twist of the Cuban fried rice, it’s got everything a Spanish girl loves, eggs, mariquitas and platanitos. The croquetas are also delicious. Overall I think this is a wonderful trendy restaurant highly recommended

Still not impressed with FINKA. I ordered croquetas, the brusselsprouts from the appetizer menu, and the vaca frita on tostones. The tostones tasted old and were hard. The brusselsprouts were drowned in soy sauce making them excessively salty. Everything at this spot is over salted. This was the same problem I had with my food last time. So it’s showing itself to be consistent with its overuse of salt. It’s safe to say, I won’t ever be going back to FINKA. They’re super overrated!

Late Lunch on a Wednesday. For Appetizer; Para Picar, we had Mini Empanadas($ 6.00) & Vaca Tostones($ 8.00). Both were Delicious. I order soup of day,($ 5.00& I have forgotten what I had & did not impress my palate+ in the receipt only specified Soup Bowl). Wife order from The Wok the Cuban Fried Rice;($ 12.00) That she was delighted with this plate. I had The Korean Fried Chicken($ 10.00) To my taste it was not bad, but came the chicken with bone and I did not expect that. I usually like my chicken with out bone or Cartilage :-(( Now the service is excellent and well organize and from what the server told us,(first time we ate here) during the weekend get really busy. Good to know.

Update 1÷31÷16 Bumping up to four stars after a few more visits, and after trying a few more menu items. Sitting at the bar makes for a better experience as well IMHO, but I also feel I may have been too harsh with my first review due to really high expectations.

I had heard a number of good things about Finka from multiple sources for a while. Finally got a chance to check it out for myself yesterday afternoon and it did not disappoint. I went on a Saturday around 2PM. Initially my party of 6 was told that we would need to wait approximately 35 minutes. The hostess was great about keeping us in the loop by letting us know that the people at our table were already having dessert and our wait time would be less than originally anticipated. She checked in with us twice with updates and we were seated within 15 minutes of arrival. We were immediately served water and given complimentary chips for the table to munch on while perusing the extensive and impressive menu. Our waiter introduced himself right away, explained the concept behind their restaurant and the type of food they serve, and took our drink orders. As an appetizer, we ordered the fried pork belly and the vaca frita tostones. Each boasted a beautiful medley of delicious flavors. The vaca frita tostones was my favorite but both were equally delicious. It was difficult to choose a main dish because everything on the menu sounded so appealing and everything we saw the people around us eating looked and smelled amazing. Ultimately I ordered the Cuban fried rice and it made a fantastic impression on my taste buds and kept me fully satisfied for the rest of the day. I didn’t even have dinner last night because my taste buds and stomach were still happily raving about their scrumptious late lunch all the way until bedtime. Finka was certainly a treat and I will undoubtedly return multiple times to try the various things on their menu that caught my eye. They don’t take reservations on weekends so you may have to wait a while for a table depending on the time but rest assured that it will be worth the wait. Despite the crowds, service was quick and impeccable. I’m definitely looking forward to my next Finka experience.

I’ve been here many times yet, I’ve never reviewed. However, I’ve never came here during lunch time till now. Upon arrival, the restaurant was a lot emptier during lunch than the chaos of dinner, which is a good thing. Our waiter was very attentive and pleasant. As for the food, this time I had for appetizer Vaca Frita tostones and for entrèe we both had the churrasco which was extremely delicious. As for other times I’ve came here, I’ve loved the Mac and cheese and their pizzas. I’ve also had almost everything that’s «supposed» to be Asian or Korean. Such as, japchae, kimchee fried rice, bulgogi, & pork chop. I’m sure I’ve had other things but I cannot remember. However, let me just say none of these items are very authentically or remotely authentically Korean, nor do they taste anything close to being real Korean food. So if you’re looking for Korean food don’t go to finka. I do have to say, the drinks at this restaurant, especially the mojitos are always consistently delicious.

Most deserving of five stars is a restaurant like Finka. This place never fails to satisfy a craving. You absolutely cannot visit without having the Vaca Frita Tostones — they’re the best ever. The croquettas, lomo fried rice, Cuban fried rice and oxtail are all equally incredible as well. The Caipirinhas here are my absolute favorite. They don’t make them anywhere else as good as they are here. If you like brisket, order the Smoked Brisket; comes with boniato mash that makes you feel stupid for not thinking of eating boniato that way every time. For dessert, order the Guava Cheesecake and/or Nutella Pizza. You’re welcome. Also, beer selection is always on point. PS. Service is great and the wait isn’t too long if you go on a weekday.

Okay, I get it now. I’ve only been hearing from people for at least a year now about how I must go to FINKA, and that it’s totally worth the drive from North Miami. They were right. I ordered the Hit Me Baby One More Thyme and I tried my friend’s cocktail as well. Both were delicious. Even if I wasn’t hungry, I’d drive out there for the drinks alone. We ordered the mac & cheese, the kimchee fried rice with chicken, and the manchego pizza. The mac & cheese was definitely my favorite. It was creamy and topped with a really flavorful and not super greasy carne asada. The kimchee fried rice had just enough of a spicy kick to pack a punch, but not overpower the flavors of the dish. I’m not a huge pizza fan, but I love everything on this pizza– manchego cheese, chorizo, olives, pesto, and a fried egg. Yum! It was delicious. I was floored when the bill came. For what we ordered and the quality of the food, FINKA is a total bargain. A nice bonus was excellent service. Guys, I totally get it. FINKA is the ish and I can’t wait to go back.

Wow. Wow. My jaw dropped on several occaisions. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. I am extremely impressed by the quality and creativity of this food, and was equally so by our singular, upbeat Disney-loving server Jalneli(?) who knew exactly what to recommend. There in a group of five, I got to try some really great dishes, but my favorites were: the crab croquetas along with their tangy sauce, and the glazed brussel sprouts, as appetizers, among other things; the exquisitely crispy yet melty whole fish and the inexplicably creamy mashed potatos; the crisp Maui beer; and the deliciously gooey, dulce leche chocolate chip cookie a la mode. When you go, asked to be placed in the outside seating if it’s available: you feel like you are in an oasis, and are not in Miami anymore. Counting the days ’till I go back! Love, love, loved it.

I’ve been hearing about this place for a while and even attempted to go there a few times(in the middle of happy hour, NOT a good idea) but always left when told there was an hour wait. We finally made it there on Christmas day in the early evening and though it was crowded, and we were a large party, they seated us right away. We decided to share some appetizers and were not disappointed with our choices. The pork Bun was freaking amazing and we regretted not having gotten several of them to share. It comes with three large buns with the most incredible filling. They don’t look like the traditional pork buns but do NOT let that scare you off. I seriously want this recipe! We also shared some delicious brussel sprouts and some WOW croquetas! They claim the croquetas are the ones from Islas Canarias(the owners are related) but I think these were even better than the ones from Islas! The tostones with vaca frita were also delectable! I don’t remember what anyone else ate as their entrée because I was frankly enjoying MY entrée too much to care what anyone else had. The Angus Churrasco was perfectly cooked and SO tender and flavorful! The sweet potato mash, I honestly don’t even have words for how tasty that was. The green beans were good too but paled in comparison to everything else on my plate. Since it was my mom’s birthday, as well as Jesus’, we ordered a Nutella Pizza so we could sing Happy Birthday to her. Since, you know, you just CAN’T sing Happy Birthday without some kind of treat, no? It was a wonderful surprise. Most dessert Pizzas have a super sweet cookie«dough» but this one had a regular pizza crust which was perfect with the super sweet nutella and strawberries on top. The drizzle was also not super sweet, kind of a sweet sour cream? Delicious! Even though I am moving to SC, I will come back to this place again this side of heaven!

Cuban food with twist. The only restaurant in that area of Miami. Stand alone building in a small strip mall where the Publix is. Nice size restaurant with a patio area and full bar with some stools to have a few drinks while you wait for your table. I have seen alot of People complain about the wait but no one is forcing you to wait. You have no one to blame but yourself for waiting. It’s not the restaurants fault for having a wait time. With that being said. I have some beers at the bar as well as some mixed drinks. I have had the lime mojitos which they make veryvgood here. I have been here several times and my favorite dishes to start off with are the mac and three cheese with carne asada, kimchee shoestring fries, croquetas, and the vaca frita tostones. The three cheese mac is so cheesy and the carne asada is tender and juicy. Then I have had the ham croqueta pizza, ox tail with risotto, Cuban fried rice, lomo saltado fried rice, and the Cuban Bibimbap Bowl. The ox tail is so flavorful and tender, the ham croqueta I didn’t think it would have worked until I tasted it and it was Delicious, and the Cuban Bibimpap Bowl a little bit of everything. It has in it white rice, vaca frita, carrots, zucchini, black beans, maduros, bean sprouts, kimchee, and a fried egg. Mix it up really good so every bite has a little of all those delicious ingredients. The staff have been friendly and professional with me and my guests.

DOGET: tostone with vaca frita and wagu ribs DON’T GET: watermelon juice The food here is amazing! Everything is so delicious, especially the tostones and wagu ribs. Even the chips they give you(instead of bread) is good. The watermelon juice is a bit overpriced and there’s nothing special about it. It would probably be cheaper to just eat some watermelon. Unfortunately the wagu ribs are a daily special so if they have them, get them!

West Kendall was definitely lacking something cool. I am so glad that FINKA decided to pioneer the emergence of all of the trendy new brick and mortars to hit this neighborhood. The best part is that FINKA combines all of my favorite kinds of foods. It is pretty genius how the chefs at FINKA were able to marry the flavors of Cuba, Korea, and Peru together so perfectly. You want vaca frita in your japchae? You got it. Maduros in your fried rice? You got it. It just all works so well. FINKA gets extremely crowded around dinner time and they do not take reservations, so make sure to arrive early. They have a great happy hour menu anyway, so it’s worth it to come early and enjoy your time there. The cozy, hip atmosphere makes it the perfect place to grab a bite or many drinks with your friends. I suggest the Basil-lando, which is a delicious take on the mojito. If you have a large party, you can split a fountain for only $ 70. You will not regret it. I have been here a few times and am thoroughly impressed by the food. The black bean hummus is one of my favorite things in the world. I really love how they cut the richness of the beans with the refreshing pico de gallo. I am also a huge fan of the Cuban Bimbimbap Bowl, but then again, you can’t go wrong with whatever you get here. All of the food is made fresh, with plenty of love. What gives FINKA the five stars is the service. The servers are all extremely helpful. They are happy to be at work and it definitely shows. Most of the servers eat at FINKA on their days off. You can find them perusing the bar or having dinner with friends. It really shows how great the food and service are when the servers treat themselves to their own workplace. There is a beautiful sense of family at FINKA – evident in the food, service, and atmosphere. If you’re in Miami, this is a definite MUST!

Just came back from my first time at FINKA and overall I was very impressed. Food 5⁄5 My friend and I shared — Tostones with pork on top(holy crap, so good) — Kimchee fries(good but I could only handle a few bites… TOO many flavors fighting for the limelight) — Cuban fried rice(I could eat this every day… Fried egg on top, pineapple chunks… YUM) — Brisket with sweet potato mash(not impressed at all… I ordered this and was disappointed :(the brisket was nothing special, no interesting spices or flavors to it… The mash was«alright» I could’ve made better mash at home) Drinks 4⁄5 — I had the«remedy» I’m no lightweight but it was EXTREMELY strong, all I tasted was vodka… I didn’t taste the raspberry or anything else that was supposed to be in there. — my friend had the«hit me baby one more thyme» YUMMMM, so freaking refreshing! Service 1⁄5 — Our waiter was so slow… he literally took around 35 – 40 minutes from bringing us water to taking our appetizer order… just stood around looking dazed and annoyed… We couldn’t believe how horrible he was at his job… he permanently looked annoyed at having to do even the simplest thing. Music 5⁄5 They played Return of the Mack, cmon now… 5 million stars for that

I had really high expectations coming in to Finka… sometimes I dread high expectation places bc many times the expectations aren’t met, but gladly Finka lived up to their reputation. Very nice atmosphere, very awesome, and most importantly… the food was spot on! Ordered: — Islas Canarias Croquetas(Ham) — I’ve never had these so these were a must. I’m not a huge croqueta fan but I thoroughly enjoyed these. Highly recommend you try these if you come to Finka. –Smoked Brisket with Spanish Boniato Mash, a Bourbon Reduction, and Scallions. Damn this was good… This is about as good as it gets, this is a safe option for anyone to order at Finka. 5 put of 5 –Islas Canarias Ham Croquetas Pizza with Mozzarella, Swiss Cheese, a Maple Bacon Sauce, Lime Zest, and Cilantro. Never seen croquetas on a pizza before. Awesome combination. Swiss and mozzarella on the pizza with the croquetas was amazing. This is another safe option that just about anyone would enjoy. 5 out of 5.
–Tostones Topped With Vaca Frita, Pico de Gallo, Chicharron Crumble, Cilantro Aioli. These were a little more basic, but they were executed very well. The vaca frita was the star of the dish… they’re able to pack so much flavor into their meat! –Kimchee Shoestring Fries, Vaca Frita, Spicy Mayo, Queso Blanco, Pico de Gallo. Salty and greasy, this is an awesome starter to start with. Again the flavors that you find here are flavors that just about everyone will enjoy. 5 out of 5. –Lomo Saltado Fried Rice, Eggs, Tomato & Onion, and Aji Amarillo. I loved this one too lol. I literally enjoyed every dish that came out of the kitchen that day. Lomo saltado was on point. Strong flavors from the beef and rice and awesome texture from the shoestrings laid on top of everything. 5 out of 5. — Bread pudding: I believe the bread pudding of the day was guava. It came with a scoop of ice cream. I’m a huge fan of bread pudding, and Finka executed well. — Cookie and ice cream: This was more basic, done well, but basic.

Went to Finka for lunch to celebrate a coworkers college graduation. I was plesantly surprised to see how nice this place was since it wasn’t in the heart of Brickell or the Gables. After getting seated we were given some home made potato chips to munch on while we perused the menu. It was our first time there so we were given a brief history of the restaurant’s origin & were tipped off to some off menu favorites by our server. We all ordered a bit of everything & shared with each other as it arrived. There really wasn’t anything bad, it all was pretty flavorful. For the most part, I found everything to be properly portioned with exception to the Tostones as they were a bit smaller than what I’m used to eating at restaurants. My favorite dish was the Bacon Mac & Cheese. I shared with my coworkers & everyone agreed it was their favorite dish. For dessert, we ordered a caramel chocolate chip banana cake with ice cream & a Compota pudding. Everyone enjoyed both but I found myself going back to the compota more than the banana cake. You really can’t go wrong with anything here. If you haven’t eaten at Finka yet I recommend giving it a try.

This gastropub came highly recommended by friends of mine and I gotta say I wasn’t disappointed! What struck me as I entered the restaurant was the bar. Lighted candles were clustered around the«U» shaped bar with fresh cut flowers bouquets. The soft glow of the candle light really created a very cozy, romantic atmosphere. The hostesses greeted us warmly and escorted our party to our table. The wait staff was very attentive. The back-waiters were on point clearing used dishes, refilling our water glasses, providing more home-made potato chips for our table and ensuring our dining experience was a comfortable one. Our server was cordial and knowledgeable about the menu and he graciously took his time to go over the menu with us as it was our first time dining here. We knew we wanted to try the Vaca Frita con Tostones appetiser right away whilst we decided on what to drink and our main course. The appetiser came out very quickly. Four amuse bouche size palate pleasures quickly vanished from our plate and ignited our palate for what is to come. My dinner partners ordered four of the popular entrées from the menu and they surely didn’t disappoint us. The KFC(Korean Fried Chicken) was a crunchy, sweet and spicy half-chicken sized portion served with a cornbread muffin with a schmear of butter. The Churrasco was succulent and juicy. Even though it was requested to be served at a med-well temperature it was more medium. The fried rice was good, it kinda reminded me of a similar dish that I’ve had in Indonesia with a classic sunny side up egg. My mouth was watering for the unique combination of Braised Oxtails with Risotto. Very delicious, a bit salty though but still over all good! We ended our dining experience with a simple warm banana bread à la môde. I gotta say I was pleased with seeing the FOH staff had such great camaraderie and working in such unison and having fun with the job. You don’t see that much nowadays when you dine out. Next time you’re in this different of the neighbourhood, check it out.
