What a great experience! I thoroughly enjoyed dinning at GiGi, so much that I’m already planning my next visit. So I’ll start with the parking which is excellent for Midtown Miami, there’s a metered lot right behind the restaurant so fret not and strut those heels ladies! Be sure to give yourself extra time to savor the flavor of this gem if not, you may find yourself booted! Upon entering I was already sold, the ambiance is relaxed yet trendy, chic but a little grungy as well; seemed like the perfect place where everyone is welcomed! We decided to dine at the bar top which is great because you can see the chefs cook and prep your meal, I love it! The chefs were very interactive and didn’t mind answering my curious questions. Okay so on to the good stuff; the food and drink! Note: the bar only serves beer and wine. Now I’m usually a full bar kinda gal but with all the awesomeness coming from the kitchen, drinking was secondary that night! started with a glass of sauvignon blanc and my friend had a classic Stella — no issues there. We ordered the pork belly buns(good), crispy shrimp buns(really good), spicy edamame(my fav), wagyu dumplings(just okay), lamb chop lollipops(good) and the smokes gouda burger(excellent). Everything was good, fresh and original, I can’t say that enough. The staff was very helpful, never missing an opportunity to make sure my friend and I was satisfied! I’m not really a dessert person but since this is more of a small plates/tapas joint, my stomach didn’t mind. It’s said they’re known for the bread pudding but I’m a rebel so I went with the snickerdoodle cookie(hoping it’d be fresh) and a scoop of vanilla. Needless to say it was NOT a freshly bake cookie and the failed attempt to reheat it didn’t help much, but again with all the greatness going on, on the food like — who has time for cookies! Eat here and enjoy!

Food was good but overpriced. I would give this place more stars but I had a very negative experience with a waiter. He was absent for most of the time that my party and I were there and overall he seemed annoyed to be there when we requested the bill, dessert, etc.

Great spot for a late night snack. Small menu, fantastic service. Been there before but never tried their food until now. I loved the fact that they carry local beers on their drink menu. Our server was fantastic, funny and attentive. He started us off with 2 lucky Buddha beers. We ordered a watermelon based nigiri and edamame as appetizers. I personally loved the sushi, amazing combination of flavors and very refreshing, but it was a little bit too overpriced for only 5 small pieces. Pork buns and pico buns were next, they were soft and delicious, but could have used a little bit more spices on it. Finally we got the best part of the meal! Raspberry bread pudding! I enjoyed it so much I wanna go back just for the dessert! Won’t give a 5 star review because we were looking for sushi and Unilocal recommended this spot even though their sushi menu consisted of only 3 or 4 sushi rolls. I will be back for some delicious pudding.

Great food always. Tonight it was even more special because of the amazing service. Thanks Alex. You have a great personality. You represent Gigi in the best way. We thought you were the owner. They are lucky to have you there. Thanks again.

I have heard such great things about this place so I was super excited to be coming here for my first time… But unfortunately that was not quite how my experience went our server was very rushed, uninterested and when I asked about certain things on the menu he was not even aware that the items existed. Rarely checked on us and when asked for anything it seemed to be a bother it almost felt like he was doing us a favor… The only thing that saved this visit was the food the brussels were to die for and the chicken lollipops were excellent however the service definitely put a damper on my experience will think twice before returning.

This restaurant is my family’s favorite place to eat lunch on the weekends! The restaurant has large, long Windows that create a very light atmosphere and the waiters/waitresses are always at your service! The food is also AMAZING! I’ve only gone during lunch time and unless you order lots of different things, it’s not very filling. However, the flavor that each plate packs is commendable. I personally love pork bun and the corn bread with butter is to DIE for! This place is highly recommended!!!

I really like this place. Ok, not only is it open till the wee hours of the morning… It’s actually really good food. I haven’t tried a bad plate yet, but here are some of my must haves. The Duck fried rice is savory and sweet to perfection. I also recommend that you try all the buns because they are all delish. Did I mention the Cornbread… OOOOOO, MYYY. I always get the Brussel Sprouts because they pair well with any other plate and they are so good. If you are ever near GIGIS and it’s Sunday… Order the eggs Benedict you won’t regret it.. Leave room for dessert because they are all AMAZING but if you are stuffed, then just order the mini-cone at $ 1.00 each is like a mini love-goodness.

Love the vibe! We waited till 8 when the wait staff launched the nightly menu! We trusted our waiter to bring us food based upon his tastes! He surprised us with a wonderful spread!

Driving by this little Asian/latin type fusion joint, you wonder why it always looks so packed. The inside has wayyyy more seats than you expect and despite its super consistent flow of late night people, it suits me well for my late night dinner breaks in between gigs! Especially when Rudy is serving me, who can wrap up your meal within 20 min. He’s the master at getting you in and out of Gigis with a happy stomach if you’re on a time crunch! Impeccable fast service even in the middle of a full house. Their steamed buns never disappoint, my usual! I like the brisket the most, the buns are super stuffed with juicy pulled beef, just two is enough to fill you up. Corn bread makes a great snack or appetizer, sweetly glazed on the crust and served with sweet honey butter mm mm! And if you’re feeling like treating yourself to something really fancy… DOTHERIBS! Huge pieces, full of meat, and seasoned soooooo gooood! It’s peppery, kinda like a blackened or smoked taste. Best ribs I’ve had anywhere, I like this flavor best compared to the normal BBQ ribs. The dessert bar is also awesome, I like their ginormous cookies most, although the Krispy treats don’t disappoint too. I always get them to go since they’re easy to bring to work. On a diet and it’s killing you inside just looking at them? It’s ok… No need to feel like you’re missing out if you skip their dessert bar cause they always give you a cute, complimentary little ice cream cone with your check! Hits the spot when you have a big sweet tooth.

Vacationing in South Florida, I was advised by a friend to try out Gigis as a «fourthmeal» option. Having spent the entire day throwing back endless beer flights only to wash them down with a few Old Fashioneds, I decided to take his advice. We apparently stopped in before the rush hit, as we found seating quickly and were ordering withing a couple of minutes. We tried the Brussels, Cornbread, multiple Buns(Pork, Brisket & Scallop), and raw Cobia. Simply put, everything was amazing. The addition of cauliflower to the brussels was interesting, but mixed with the soy and bacon it was just another element of flavor. The buns were all fantastic, with the Brisket being a table favorite(I personally loved the Scallop). Cornbread was crunchy on the edges and not overly dense, and the honey bacon butter was sinfully good. The Cobia went so quickly that I honestly cannot remember what it was served with. I do know that it was delicious. Our server was great, especially since he was dealing with four drunk people who were overly enjoying a rare night out. I’m very happy we went off my friend’s recommendation, and have already extended that recommendation

Been here over 7 to 8 times and the food is pretty consistent always great flavors. Try sitting by the bar so you can see the amazing dishes that go out. Food wise I give it a 5 stars but some dishes are just over price for what they are. The steak chow fun is one of our favorite. The pork buns are really good, and the lamb lollipop. Dishes like the cobia are flavourful but very small. I love the simple industrial design but it’s very loud. Love that it’s open until late.

Tappas is the name of the game at this cute little spot in Miami’s art district. The indoor space is open but the concrete walls keep the noise level high — our party of 3 opted for outdoor seating. We had a nice table under a tree and close to the(not too busy) street. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. Gigi has a rotating selection of house made, fruit infused sparkling water. I’ve heard that the pineapple is superb but it was not on the menu today, so we chose a very refreshing limeade. I usually prefer my «ade“s to be sweet, but this was very middle of the road. Not tart, not sweet — just bubbly and refreshing. We ordered the cornbread, the Brussel sprout /cauliflower /bacon dish and the pork and brisket buns. All choices were delicious — the corn bread is a must for anyone dining here. It is sweet and savory with a hint of bacon. The pork/brisket buns come on a Korean style pillowy bao bun and are topped with fresh pico and cilantro. Make sure to ask for their house sauces — the bbq is great on the brisket buns! At the end of our meal we were treated to small chocolate ice cream cones dipped in Carmel — what a way to send your diners home with a smile! This is a great spot to grab a lite bite with friends and enjoy dining outdoors. Highly recommended!

Here are all the things that went wrong during our last visit: 1. We were a party of 4. I asked the hostess if she would seat us so we could start ordering appetizers while we wait for our two friends. Her answer was NO. I tell her we are going to order appetizers while we wait. She tells me no again because the servers«bitch her out» if she sits a party without everyone being there. 2. They seat us at a table in the walkway between the entrance and general seating area. I asked to be moved to the general seating are because my friend is pregnant and didn’t want to be bumped by ppl walking by. The hostess does but rolls her eyes in the process. 3. My friend goes to sit down at our new table and immediately gets up. She tells the hostess the seat is sticky. Instead of just cleaning the chair or grabbing an empty one behind her, the hostess proceeds to touch the chair and tell us its not sticky. After she«confirms» its sticky, she proceeds to wipe down the chair. 4. Before the hostess could walk away, I had to give her my side plate because it was dirty. This restaurant used to be my favorite part of coming back home. I remember when this place was amazing and the service was top notch. Unfortunately, i think this place was sold to new owners because its not the same. The quality of food and service has really declined in my opinion.

Matt our waiter was fantastic! He’s smooth with his words and was very attentive. Ask for Matt as a waiter and you’ll go home happy. I’ve never seen so many beautiful people eating at a restaurant all at once! If you’re in the Wynwood/Midtown area I highly recommend Gigi. The food was phenomenal. I had the Duck Fried Rice and it was delicious. I also tried a few of their bun items and they’re all great. The place is spacious and the bathrooms are clean. I really like the glass window walls. You get to see who’s walking around when you’re eating. This place closes late. I believe they close at 5AM on Saturdays going into Sunday. Great spot to have a late dinner or maybe even«fourth meal» after a few alcoholic drinks(don’t settle for Taco Bell). I basically ended up here with some friends after a long night of drinking. We needed food since we had the beer munchies. There is a parking lot but make sure you pay for parking if not you will get booted. I saw a Ford Ranger driving around looking to boot vehicles(Premier Booting Services Inc.). I think Gigi shares the parking lot with Bardot(lounge next door). Always a great experience at Gigi. Great service and great food. Thanks Gigi for being open so late and always having a table available no matter how busy the night can be.

I’ve been to Gigi a few times, mainly to come back for their scallop buns on their dinner menu. I was so excited to find that they also added them to their lunch menu. Thank you! Their spicy tuna bowl is a great size for the money and I absolutely love their cornbread. I’d also highly recommend the shroom buns. The reason I gave Gigi four stars is because of the customer service. I’ve eaten outside each time, so I am not sure if that is why(still not an excuse) but I always have to wait about 15 minutes for water and then longer for someone to take my order. The kitchen staff is quick because I do get my food very quickly. However I’ve had to chase down the server each time to do my check and always make sure I give them my card on the spot to eliminate any more wait time.

A friend and I decided to go to Churchills to support friends’ band at the metal concert festival last night. However, we were hungry and my friend wanted bar food close to Churchills. Though Gigi doesn’t really have the kind of bar food she meant, I suggested it anyways because I’ve dined there before and thought the food was pretty good. We carpooled and I showed her where to park. The lot behind Gigi and Bardot used to be $ 3 flat rate or free sometimes but now it’s metered. I couldn’t believe the meter was charging $ 5 for one hour. That’s so crazy. We paid for it anyways using the self pay machine and it took forever to accept the transaction. There was a guy watching the lot but he wasn’t wearing any signage or shirts that indicated he works there, we thought he was a creeper. After displaying the parking receipt on my friend’s car dashboard, we went inside Gigi. The hostess said there’s no wait for the bar so we went with the bar. She was nice. Our waiter barely said anything to us, didn’t introduce himself. He was more attentive towards the other customers. I had to explain the menu to my friend because the waiter was busy doing something else and attending other people or just pacing around. We ordered the junmai sake for two, cornbread, and duck fried rice. When the waiter poured the sake carafe in the two little glasses, he spilled a little bit pouring sake into one of the glasses. He pushed the glass towards my friend and there was a streak of sake on the table, he didn’t apologize but we let it go. The sake was good, cold and smooth, not too dry. It was fun watching the staff prepare some of the foods. As the couple sitting next to us were leaving, the same waiter told them to wait and handed them two little ice cream cones. The lady asked her husband/boyfriend or whoever he was, «Did you order this?» He said no. So it was free for them. Later, one of the staff handed us the cornbread with the honey bacon butter, which was amazing. My friend loved it. Then we got the duck fried rice to share. It was good but pretty salty in my opinion. I liked the combination of all the ingredients. After finishing our food, waiter asked us if we wanted any dessert, we said no thank you, that we were full. He handed us the check and someone else processed the payments. We tipped 20% even though the waiter’s service was not the best. I assumed maybe he’d give us some ice cream cones too and I was given free cones years ago as well when I dined there, but he didn’t. So maybe he didn’t like us. Anyhow, food was pretty good, a bit overpriced, but service was okay, probably wouldn’t eat there for another few years again.

Was a little early for an event so we decided to stop in for a quick bite. Cool and modern restaurant with exposed concrete throughout. And an open kitchen for guests to see their food being prepared. On our visit we tried the Shrimp Soba Noodle, Duck Confit buns, and BBQ Brisket buns. –the Shrimp Soba Noodle was the perfect choice for a hot and muggy evening. The dish was light and served cold. It had a good mix of sweet and sour. Good portion size for sharing.(lime, sweet chili sauce, pickled cucumber, mung beans) –the duck confit comes with 2 buns, served open and unlike traditional asian buns. The buns were light and fluffy, the duck was moist.(grape onion marmalade, feta cheese, almonds) –the BBQ Brisket also comes with 2 buns and open like a sandwich. Good flavors but I personally could eat 3 – 4 buns alone.(Beef, caramelized onions, cheddar, tomato, spicy aioli) Cool and open restaurant… good service.. food was good but was a little pricey. 2 buns were $ 9 and I thought it was weird to charge people $ 1 for water when it wasn’t bottle.
