I stepped into this coffee shop and felt like I had been transformed to Havana! The staff are extremely friendly. They make all of the pastries on site. So sad to see this place has closed down!

During my trip to Miami last week, I wanted to specifically get all the Cuban while I could. For breakfast one morning, we found Havana Coffee & Tea Company through Unilocal and made a visit. Ordered(3) Café Con Leche and(3) breakfast sandwiches for my girls and I. First off, very cute spot/location and great service. The Café Con Leche was delicious and had me opt for Café Con Leche for the remainder of my trip(I am craving it so bad as I write from San Francisco). Breakfast sandwiches were delicious as well. Fun place!

This review is solely for the iced café con leche(I regret not trying their pastries!) I’m not a regular coffee drinker but I wanted to try out their infamous Cuban coffee while I was in Miami. The café con leche had the«just right» amount of milk mixed into it, and the coffee wasn’t as overpowering as other coffees that I’ve tried. There are several different types of coffee(or tea). All of the drinks come in three sizes(small, medium, large) and you have the option of drinking it hot or iced. There’s plenty of seating inside as well.

Looking to kill some time between checking into our Air Bnb after flying in. Super cute and quaint with an authentic Cuban feel to it. Cortadito is perfectly sweet with the right about of coffee. The beef empanadas are spicy and filling with a crunchy crust. If I lived here, this would be my go to spot!

I was very excited to go here after reading the reviews and seeing the photos. Upon walking in, the ambiance was just as described on the reviews. Everything changed once I walked to the counter. I was craving an empanada or a light snack. All they had was a shelf with a few pastry selections aired out for any fly to sit on. They didn’t have chicken empanadas and when asked for a media noche, the woman said the chef was out. –_– I finally decided to just order a hazelnut coffee since it looked so appetizing on the pic. It was very bitter when I tasted it. I had to add more milk and hazelnut to satisfy my crave. It was served in a paper cup with no lid. They were out! Very disappointed! After walking out I realized I should have known this place was not going to be good when the cashier was not Cuban or non-Hispanic. Will definitely not go there again.

Awesome atmosphere and good espresso. Who I believe was the manager talked to us about how he worked on his blends and was helpful to my friend in when to come back to acquire a Cuban style roasted bag of beans when we came back from our cruise.

Love this place. The coffee ufffff. Wow. Café con Leche fantastic. All their beverages are fantastic! I love their medianoche sandwiches. Cuban sandwiches so good too. I truly haven’t had anything bad here. The staff is so friendly. The décor is kinda hipster and laid back. Very cool if you like that. Definitely stop in here. Starbucks who??? Not even in the same league.

I love this little spot! It’s very private and great for a happy hour with a few close friends. The ropa vieja sandwich is really yummy! And they have good selection of wine. The customer service is awesome as well. I love this little spot, very good ambiance.

Very cute place to relax and have a good café con leche and Empanadas. You instantly walk into a Cuban decorated café with a piano and salsa music– My kind of café! The pastry selection wasn’t as big as I was hoping it to be but maybe that’s because I showed up at 10:30. However the flavor of that spinach and cheese Empanada was my favorite so far here! I should’ve grabbed two! Coffee was delicious. Needless to say, it’s a good find for downtown Miami.

Closed down unexpectedly and then re-opened under new ownership. Same name, not the same place :(coffee was ok, pastries were mediocre.

TL;DR — Left feeling cheated and ripped off. Ok. I get that tourists are basically walking wallets with targets on their heads… but seriously… The posted business hours starts at 7am. We show up and its just the owner. She says her staff isn’t here yet so we should come back in 3o min. We come back and she reluctantly allows us in without hesitating to emphasize how she would have to serve herself. We sit down and she asks us what we want without even handing us any menus. We ordered 3 café con leches, three empanadas and two Cuban sandwiches. Total came out to around $ 40 in the end. Seriously? We had basically no/slow service since she was alone. We were offered no silverware. It was awkward and quiet. Whatever. But what really made the whole thing awkward was that she insisted we pay cash and that she didn’t include tax or anything… but we weren’t even given menus before ordering. She kinda just pressured us into ordering a lot without knowing what we were really going to pay/get. Boo. Definitely not a cheap place to eat, but for the prices they charge, its on the same level as any café in LA or SF(but the food isn’t nearly as local/fresh).

This is my daily fix when I“m on my two weeks off per month. I usually go for a walk/jog down to museum park than head to flager to get myself an iced soy latte with flavoring of choice that day: they have caramel, pumpkin spice, butterscotch, vanilla, cinnamon bun, coconut to name a few. They put about three shots of espresso in a medium iced latter for 3.75 $. Really refreshing, healthy and a nice energy boost in the morning. They also have alot of baked desserts, and snacks. I have tried a pastelito with guava and cheese which was flaky and sweet goodness. I have not tried their sandwiches or empanadas but they look great. They also have a every changing meat/cheese + wine platter, reasonably priced i haven’t tried yet. Usually quiet in the morning, but full of lunch patrons around noon. Love this place, and friendly service, cute indoors, and charming music! outdoor seating as well, in downtown miami.

What do you do when an almost-tropical-storm-Erika makes for a blustery Sunday? Head downtown to this great joint! It was our first time here and we absolutely loved it. My husband ordered a large café con leche and said it was one of the best he ever had. He also raved about the Cuban toast(repeatedly dunked, as true Cubans do, in the coffee) and most of all the chicken empanada(also one of the best he’s ever had). Me? I ordered a tea called«coconut flan,» and you know how some teas smell like one thing but taste like another? Well, this one was awesome all-around. I also enjoyed their veggie sandwich, which is really a Panini. It came with a delicious orange-colored sauce; I’m not sure what was in it but it was dee-lish. BTW, the same sauce also came with the chicken empanada. They have amazing cakes as well; we ordered one of the chocolate ones to go. We will have it tonight while the wind continues to blow. This was definitely a great way to spend a few hours on a windy, rainy Sunday! One more thing: on the first Thursday of every month, they have a comedy night at 8PM. We’re going to check out the next one on 9⁄3.

Super yummy breakfast sandwich that filled us up for hours. Eggs, ham and cheese on a Cuban bun, pressed. Very tasty along with a café con leche. Great and friendly service. Thanks!

This was one of the shops I booked marked on Unilocal for when I was in Miami. I had a café con leche while I rested from walking around and used their wifi. I then had an iced tea to go and both of my drinks were very tasty. Having just had lunch I did not sample any of their treats but they certainly looked good. Seating was comfortable and I would return the next time I’m in Miami.

Customer service here is brilliant. So nice, informative & welcoming! Not something I am extremely used to in Miami so it was a lovely experience. The lovely lady who helped me with the tea was so extremely knowledgeable and helpful as they have a wall full of green and black teas. Coconut green tea! You can get some tea to make at home too so I grabbed the Coconut Pineapple and Coconut Apple. So delicious and refreshing. I had a fresh ham and cheese empanada for my breakfast and it was cooked perfectly. The outside was crispy and flaky and not greasy at all. It was a great way to start my day. The ambiance is lovely as well and they have a good amount of seating in the front so stay and relax. Bonus: Free wifi so you can get some work done while you enjoy this lovely spot.

So happy I needed to find a spot to work downtown and was led to Havana Coffee & Tea Company by Unilocal(this site really does rock). It ended up being a great place to grab coffee, breakfast and plop down for an hour or two. Not only do they have a wide array of coffee options, you can also get your tea on here! In need of a little more caffeine than tea leaves could offer me this particular morning(I’m working on it), I went with a cortadito. What’s really cool is that you can even flavor your cortadito. I was boring and just got it au natural, but would maybe branch out next time(MAYBE). Now, they have so many interesting pastelitos including dulce de leche, coconut and apple, but I couldn’t resist the tortilla de chorizo. It was a bit more eggy(edging on quiche consistency) than authentic Spanish tortilla, but I still enjoyed. Taking a peek at the rest of their menu, I saw they also offer more substantial Cuban dishes and sandwiches for lunch and even dinner, which makes sense why they have a wine and beer bar in the back for happy hour and beyond. It’s downtown so parking isn’t going to be your friend but if you’re lucky to find a Pay by Phone spot nearby, definitely take advantage! I look forward to returning to Havana Coffee & Tea Company when I can. Definitely a cool spot to have around the area.

I can’t imagine having a better start to my day. The café is very laid back, with a charming Cuban ambiance, and delivers exceptional service & food. The menu is short and sweet, with a well-rounded variety of Cuban inspired breakfast & lunch options. I had the Chorizo Spanish Omelette with a Cortadito and a Dulce de Leche Pastelito. My boyfriend ordered the same thing, except his Pastelito was Cherry flavoured and he got a Café de Leche instead of a Cortadito. All of the food was absolutely fantastic and served in very reasonable portions. Although we’re only visiting Miami for a week, we will definitely be back before we leave!

Talk about a hidden gem! Downtown Miami has a bad rep, but I’d like to think there are little treasures waiting to be discovered. maybe it’s the little bit of pretentious New Yorker in me that has an insatiable desire for staying«local», but after waling by Havana a few times I finally found the perfect chance to try it out on Friday night. Business in the front, party in the back– don’t be fooled by the coffee shop entrance, there is more to this place just a little further in the back. An elegant wine bar stands in the back nestled in between pastelitios of all varieties and handwritten signs and exposed brick. Excuse me while I wipe the drool off the keyboard. Oh and that Krack pie? Pretty close to Momofoko Milk Bar’s own. Butter REALNESS. Must try!
