Great for vegan food it is really fresh, and very tasty. Little run down looks like someone’s house I was surprised that it was a restaurant when we pulled up. After tasting the food I didn’t care where I was eating at that point it was good !

In short: A hole in the wall where I would not go into the neighborhood alone unless it was day and I had a macho male companion,(a cute one would be nice… but no wimps!) with some extra cash to spill on creative, interesting vegan food.

5 stars for the food 1 star for the service Alhough we did not receieve a wam welcome after we spent 30 $/one way on a cab ride to get to Om Garden, I loved the food I ordered there. The server, standing behind the counter, hardly acknowledged that we had entered the restaurant. After finding our own menus, the server walked over and asked if we were«ready to order.» Was she too damn busy to allow us time settle in, look at the menu, and ask questions before we ordered? The raw cheese plate was my favorite item. It contained 3 types of cheeses — each one better than any other raw cheese I’ve ever had. The cheese plate was served with raw flax seed crackers which tasted fresh, clean, and delicious.((raw crackers aren’t always this good — those of you who have had bitter flaxseed crackers must know what I mean by them tasting«clean»)) On Garden has an amazing dessert menu which consists of raw items. Unfortunately, there was only one dessert item available the evening I stopped in. Why even have a dessert menu??? .created an insatiable craving. I heard word that this restaurant is moving over to SOBE, Good thing! The restaurant currently sits in a shit hole of a shit hole. Would I pay a cabbie 30 $/one way to visit this restaurant again? ABSOLUTELYNOT. Will I visit this restaurant once it has moved to the beach? Sure… It’s always good to have more vegan options on the beach…

I’ve waited and thought about what to write about this place. I’m severely torn as to what I want to say. Seriously. I have a thing that I would love for everyone to support local businesses and try good vegan fare without putting on their«ew…what is that??» face. Regardless of the fact that they happen to eat dead animals(I kiiid!).
My review basically reflects the horrible disappointment I felt when I walked into this place. I want to be very clear that I did not expect anything snazzy or spectacular. Just a simple little place with a few good options. The problem is that, more times than not, you can’t get past your first impression, and this is the case with my experience. The minute I walked through the door I was hit in the face with a dirty floor. Followed by being seated at a table with food splatterings on the wall. The entire place looked basically dirty. I don’t care if something is just run down, but dirty? Really? There’s a difference. Yet, hoping for the best, and hoping to make this a regular spot, I thought«Maybe they’re just having an off day…» and decided to eat here anyway. We sat down and it was hot, so she was nice enough to put a fan in front of our table without us having to ask for it. Unfortunately, it was covered in dust bunnies and when she turned it on, it pelted us with a few of those. The cook and lady that worked there were amiable enough. I told her I was really excited to try their food because of the lack of vegan restaurant options in Miami. After telling her we had moved from California, she proceeded to tell me about how EVERYONE who comes from LA and San Diego and San Fran to visit has told them about how this is THEBEST vegan food they have EVER had anywhere(with serious emphasis on the words in Caps). I couldn’t comment on the food yet because we hadn’t gotten our order, but thinking she was asking for my opinion, I told her that, although they had a nice menu, I found it a bit limited. She got immediately offended and told me that they have a lot on their menu and that everything takes SO much prep already. Um. Ok. You’re in the restaurant business. Prep is part of the game. Especially if you have raw stuff on the menu. Apparently I have been spoiled by the vegan places I’ve been to in Cali with their 4 page menus. I don’t know, but I wasn’t trying to offend the woman. And if you’re telling me that the food on your menu is better than any place in Cali(according to people who come here), then I’m expecting something spectacular. The food came and I had the Good Karma(menu description: Om black bean burger served on whole wheat pita with lettuce, tomato, sprouts, and guacamole with choice of potatoes or a side salad). It came on a piece of untoasted store bought bread instead of the whole wheat pita. It actually wasn’t too bad. My person had the falafel wrap, which was pretty standard. I really appreciate what they are trying to do with their farm to table organics and buying directly from the farms and trying to be ecologically sustainable, etc. I think that is great and, honestly, if they just cleaned a bit more, I’d have no issues about going back there. I was told they are planning on moving to the Beach around 20th in early July. Maybe they’ll put a little more pride into their cleanliness. As far as the prices, I think you have to keep in mind that Organics and many vegan ingredients are very expensive. Some have to be special ordered, which ups the price even more. That being said, I didn’t find it super ridiculous. I realize they have to make a profit and I didn’t feel like they were trying to gauge me. Also, saying this place is ‘tiny’ would be overstating the size. If you’re coming with more than 3 people, call ahead to see if there is anyone there.

So disappointing! Went on a trek to downtown Miami to find this place and was so not worth it. We were visiting from DC area and wanted a good veg place so I looked on to find Om Garden. I was excited to try it. We found the place in a not-so-great hood area in Miami and I was surprised of the looks of it based on the reviews. The place was a tiny little hole in the wall with a total of 5 tables and a counter area. The menu was cute but the prices were unbelievable…$ 15 for a plate of fried rice. AREYOUSERIOUS? The menu was interesting but not anything that hasn’t been done before. We ordered and it took 30 minutes to get our food… which is fine but the chef/owner was chatting with his regulars the whole time. We found it rude and unprofessional. I feel sorry for the residents of Miami — there are so many great vegetarian places in DC that actually give a damn about service.

This was a great place to take a vegan friend for her birthday. Not so great for my non-vegetarian friends who complained afterwards. The menu consists of appetizers, raw entrees, heated entrees, pizzas, desserts and smoothies. All the prices are hiked up more than your usual lunch spot. Everything tasted healthy but looked a little«different». But was definitely worth it despite appearances. The portabella mushroom burger was good, the side potatoes were okay. But the sweet potatoes that I tried from my friend’s plate, I would recommend instead. The burgers instead use only one slice of bread, healthier I suppose? The portions weren’t the largest but surprisingly filling(it’s the fiber!). They also offer triple filtered water for an extra $ 1. We decided to take the plunge and try the lavender blueberry cheesecake but unfortunately, it was a little too unusual for the four of us: a combo of fake cheese and flowery lavendar? This is the type of place you will either love it or hate it. It seems like the middle of nowhere and too unusual for some but for others scouting out healthy/vegan places, this is it.

If I could hire a personal chef like the one at Om Garden, I think I’d be happily vegan for the rest of my days. Unfortunately, when left to my own devices, I can’t imagine creating these delicious concoctions. I stopped in the other Saturday, looking for a healthy & delicious afternoon meal, and following the wise advise of fellow Unilocalers. The place is tiny with a capital T, but cute. Off-putting location, but hell, parking is free! Gotta love that. I had the Awakening pizza, and the name tells no lies! Wow. It consists of black bean hummus, tofu, onions, red pepper, avocado and corn, topped with cilantro and a cashew sour cream. It was heavenly. I’d never miss the regular milk products or breads in a million years. I wanted to try a dessert, appetizer, smoothie, etc., but frankly, the prices are steep! The pizza wasn’t too bad at $ 13, but smoothies for $ 10+ apiece? I know organic, vegan food is pricey, but that’s a little out of my price range. Like Lanie R., I loved it, but it’s not very practical for me on a regular basis. Service was a little odd — the girl was nice enough, but I never once saw her smile. Maybe it’s just her way. Regardless, I’ll be back to Om Garden, to try the plethora of other menu options that sounded oh-so-good. If only I had an unlimited budget, it would be so much easier to save the planet and stay animal-product free!

the food is 4 star material. and i am not even deducting a star because the place is exoensive(i know organic food is expensive, as are most of the ingredients on their menu) i just wasnt crazy about the cramped space or how dirty everything seemed. i loved the food though, the pizza was very good the gingerale felt very expensive for something that tasted like juiced ginger with a little seltzer water. my husband ordered the rainbow roll which was ok but the sauce on the side was kind of flavorless. i will def. be back as there are very few vegan options in miami and the food really was very good, i just wish the place felt a little more hygenic. OMG! the milky way dessert was FANTASTIC!!! i would def. order a whole pie for my next dinner party or something. tasted fresh and healthy but def. hit the dessert/sweet tooth spot.

Made me come back for more… So I stopped by this little corner spot on the way to a spin class. I was early for the class and figured it would be a great place for a quick shot of wheatgrass providing some added energy. I walked in and hopped on a stool at the counter. Right away I was asked what I wanted and 5 minutes later I was granted my wish. As I sipped my potion I browsed through their menu. I already knew they were a vegetarian restaurant and had it book marked«to try». As I read my stomach growled more and more loudly. Instantly I was faced with the decision — «do I go spin?» or «should I eat?». The menu was intriguing and stimulating my salivary glands. It was a struggle but I found a remedy. I’ll just come right back after my spin class. I am so happy I came back! I ordered the portobello on wheat wrap sandwich with a side salad that has to be one of the best portobello sandwiches I have ever eaten. And their organic salad didn’t fall too far behind. I’m still impressed with the tangy flavors and freshness of the food! The only reason I am giving them a 4 and not a 5 star rating is because it was a little pricey and not a practical option for me as an every/any day meal. Their orange juice is $ 8.00 and I am used to paying no more than $ 3.95, even when made with organic fruits.

The indoor seating can at best be described as cramped. This place had potential with the raw food, I had been craving some and came here on a recommendation. Should have Unilocaled first! All the food I ordered was just«okay». I was flabbergasted when I received the check. I spent $ 27 on just myself for a meal which was just absurd. The price did not match the atmosphere or *most importantly* the tastiness of the food. I’ve had very healthy/raw food that is tasty so I know this isn’t an impossible feat here. The staff were nice, but impatient. That was very off-putting. The end result: I don’t think I’ll return.

Om is a place I meant to go to, but always put off. That was my first mistake. In terms of Miami prices, it is industry standard, and considering the often organic ingredients, it is a deal(~10 $ for entrees). We ordered the café con(hemp) leche, house ice tea, and pesto based pizza. The thin crispy crust was perfect on the pizza, with a delicious not-overly greasy pesto base, and fresh fresh fresh veggies. It had wonderful kalamata olives and basil. This is truly a gem in miami’s health-wasteland. Everything seems done fresh too! The place is nice and relaxing with pleasing not overly done up décor. My only complaint is the music, which is your typical hippie faux-fusion music I personally can’t stand. But it was an ipod on random so it was a mixed bag.

OM Garden could very well be my very favorite vegetarian restaurant in Miami… except there’s a big BUT… Prices are expensive. I mean a soup, meal & a drink go way over $ 25 after taxes/tip and it never fills me up(and not because I’m a fat ass, in fact I’ve been vegetarian since 1996). It’s tough when I go with my girlfriend and we spend $ 50 on an ok lunch. Yeah it’s healthy but there’s plenty of healthy options in most restaurants right? And $ 25 a head is not that bad when you think of a nice dinner except this place is not that kind of vibe. It’s a tiny little restaurant that fits 10 – 12 people at most. Which is my other problem, it’s hard to find a place to sit specially if you have a late lunch/dinner. The food itself is OK which is why I finally decided to give this place 3 stars. Nothing really stood out as a «must have again» even after eating here a few times. Bottom line: When I’m craving something healthy, there’s plenty of better food options in Miami that cost a lot less and if you want to go vegan, try Sublime in Ft. Lauderdale — 5 Stars all the way.

I’m so glad Maria recommended it to me! its really hard to find places that would cater to vegetarians, let alone vegans, but Om Garden caters to all! I saw quite the variety of people who surprisingly enough were regulars and not necessarily veggies, they just enjoyed having a healthy meal once in a while. The place is kinda small, so I’m glad we went there for an early dinner(around 6:00ish…for Spanish ppl that’s early.) We started off with the Chakra Cheese appetizer which entailed a variety of nut cheeses served with raw crackers, walnuts, figs, berries and apricots drizzled with a balsamic syrup. The consistency of the ‘cheeses’ was dip-like, but the nutty flavors gave it a delicious cheesy aftertaste! As an entrée I had their famous Rainbow Roll(pictured here) and my friend had the Mediterranean plate, and the both were surprisingly fulfilling! Finally for dessert, we shared a slice of their homemade pie which I could not believe was completely vegan, it tasted like cheesecake! The great thing about the meal is that you don’t walk out full or bloated, but completely energized! Definitely a must-try, even if you aren’t a vegetarian, the food is full of flavor and its definitely worth it!(speaking of worth it, for an all vegan, healthy, vegetarian place the prices are perfectly reasonable)

Do not get here late! It sucks when you have to choose from a limited menu since they make what they can sell everyday. Everything is good on the menu but it is a bit overpriced. Staff is pleasant and very personable. I guess you pay for the rare find.

Coming from the Bay Area where there is a chain of Café Gratitudes — I am always happy when I can find a vegan/raw restaurant outside the area. And after partying a few days in SoBe — this place is a great detox. The restaurant is in a residential area and is set up like a little corner diner(very cute). I went in for dinner and a little early for Miami standard a little before 7PM. Everyone was very nice and friendly as I had the whole place to myself. I ordered the OM Plate with the broccoli, tabouli(both good) and the wakame(ehh). I ate half and also ordered the Rainbow Roll — this is REALLY good and the dipping sauce is sweet and creamy. Around 8PM the place started to get really packed as several people came in for dinner or picked up food to go. It was really nice to see the locals interact at this place. Advice: If you are new to raw food try the cooked entrees like the Om Rice — it’s a safe bet and it smelled amazing! I also found out that they just extended their counter to be able to serve more people. I will definitely come in whenever I am in town.

I am elated that we are starting to see more vegan restaurants«sprouting» up — especially one with such yummy raw food options. While I don’t know if I will ever be able to go fully raw, I am aiming to go as raw as possible.(you can read some of the reasons why on their website under«about us» and then«why living food».) If you are new to raw and vegan foods, it is good to get recommendations as to what might be to your taste rather than just order something off the menu because it has«pizza» or «tacos» in the name. Often the names of the food can be quite misleading to a newbie. Don’t be shy to ask the friendly staff for suggestions — that’s what they are there for! So far my favorites are the Chakra Cheese Plate, the Rainbow Roll and the Peace Pizza. The Key(to the Heart) Lime Tart was good too, but I have to admit it felt odd to eat a dessert made mostly of avocado! Yes, it is pricey. Most prepared raw foods fall on the expensive side due to the fact that they require lengthy preparation times. I don’t mind supporting a business that offers a way for me to eat great tasting food in its healthiest form. I like to think of it as a way for me to vote with my $$$ — the more support they have the more likely we will see similar businesses in South Florida.

I am admittedly not on the whole Vegan band wagon tip. I just like food that taste good and if its healthy then thats a bonus. OM Garden is a pricey but satisfying way to get a little of both. Being that is right around the corner from not only Sanctuary 7 where they teach Pilates and Spinning, there is a Yoga Studio and private personal training place all within walking distance. So if you have just worked out and any of these places and built up an appetite then this is a natural choice. I have been twice now both times after workout. Once with the Unilocal gang and another time with a «gym date » . Both times service was excellent and attentive. I choose the«PEACEPIZZA«both time and it was full of veggies and nuts and stuff that sounded more appropriate for salad or granola bar but really tasted good with the drink I had called Radiant — mix of Orange juice and Ginger drink — very spicy and sweet — i have yet to finish a glass yet but I will one day . There are also a selection of deserts that I made my «gym date«eat so I could get her opinion. The fake chocolate brownie is very creamy and good. Over all this a perfect place for after the gym but not a dinner out on Saturday night unless you are doing a hippie thing… lol

If you’re a meatetarian — STOPREADINGNOW — this is not the place for you. Tons of healthy vegetarian food options — yum!!! I came here with Emilio, my mom and three awesome Unilocalers Denise F., Shawn P. and Maria A. after a great Saturday morning spinning class. The place is a little café, just down the street from Sanctuary 7, so you go from getting fit to eating healthy in just a matter of a few steps. They have a pretty good selection of healthy foods, and even raw foods — which are gaining popularity around Miami. Still not sure I’d go for the raw trend, I tried the tropical pizza with extra pineapples — oh so good! I shared it, but it comes with only four slices, so if you’re hungry its is large enough but small enough to eat alone. A few others on the table ordered pizzas too, all which looked delicious, and Denise ordered a falafel sandwich that came in pita bread that looked super filling and very very good. I’ll have to try that one next time I go. Em ordered the glow drink, which is pineapple & orange juice, and the waitress said she threw in a little extra something when she brought it. I don’t know what that extra something was, but the drink was green! I wouldn’t have expected the marriage of a yellow pineapple and an orange orange to turn out a green liquid baby but hey, it was really good!!! It was very very refreshing. Though I will say this, $ 9 for a 16oz cup of juice is a little pricey in my book. But when you think that many people exist on a liquid diet nowadays, and that that juice may have well been their meal, then it’s technically priced as a meal would be — still, I’d say, if you’re ordering a plate of food, then offer a discount on the drinks. Be prepared, if you order food, a drink, and dessert it can run you well over $ 30. However, if you’re into healthy food(which I love) it is definitely a great little quaint space you should check out. As for after the meal — about two hours later I was a little hungry, but still full and satisfied from the pizza. I could get used to eating like this!

I went for a post spinning brunch. The place is small but the menu isn’t as there will be plenty of healthy fare for anyone from the first timer to the raw-ficionado. We were a party of six and they put together three tables for us. I started with some orange-pineapple juice which was darker and smoother than I’d expected but extremely good and worth a return visit if only for the juice and smoothies. I had a vegan pizza made with cashew cheese and chips, black olives, guacamole, etc. and it was filling but light and delicious. The food was clean and satisfying. Around the corner from Sanctuary 7 and very close to Brickell this is a great lunch spot for those looking to keep it lean this summer.

I had two things here: the rainbow roll and the peace pizza. The rainbow roll didn’t really fill me up and it was just okay. The peace pizza, however, was bigger and filled me up — and it was tasty. Basically, it’s a hit or a miss, but if you follow the suggestions of the staff, you’ll be pretty safe — and I haven’t had anything inedible here. The staff are friendly and there’s a good neighborhood vibe that makes this feel really like a neighborhood joint that you could imagine yourself walking to at any time of the day(although it’s not open that late). I wouldn’t mind returning.
