I asked for my caretaker during my surgical stay to pick up some food from this restaurant. I wish I took a picture but I was too tired and lazy to. This restaurant had tasty seasoned chicken, their black beans were good but the plantains were burnt. It was absolutely horrible. I will try another location when I’m in Miami some other time but I would not recommend their plantains from here.

I just had my first Pollo Tropical experience. I am pleased with the results. For about seven bucks, I was able to get away with a quarter chicken, rice, beans, bread, and a drink. At first I was a little sad because each item only occupied a couple of cubic inches. Especially the beans-not a lot of those. Then again I just watched a sizable group of people throw out all of their rice, so I can see why PT might not want to load it on. The item that really did it right for me was the sauce bar. I count ten sauces. Ten sauces. Ten sauces. That’s a winning number! Also the chicken was good. Grilled chicken always is. It was gratifying to peer into the grill in area and see 50 – 100 dead birds sizzling away. Very primal; well done. I shall return to one of their Orlando locations.

Pleasant change for fast food. Grilled meats and wonderful sauces. The Tropichop was filling.

You can’t get a more reasonable, healthy and delicious meal in Miami. Hands down the best value for the money in town.

I went there tonight after not having been there for ages. They have the Lite Citrus Salad and ¼ Chicken on the menu but nowhere can you see that there’s not a possibility to chose your preferred kind of meat. The cashier tells me, very politely at all times, that it can only be served with white meat. I, of course was confident this was an easy fix and ask for the manager, guess what! She didn’t even turn around to look at me and waving her head says: ‘nothing can be changed’. Forget about the customers, since when is this good for business?

Three and a half stars? Are you kidding? I’m leaving one just to decrease its stars! This is not a restaurant! Let’s stop supporting nonorganic chicken! Chlorine is bad for you! All these toxic chemicals are killing you! These fast food places fry your food in the worst oil ever… The beans are canned nothing in there is good for you… Stop the obesity, diabetes and save the planet! These irresponsible ppl is destroying rivers and forrests to have their huge chicken farms all caged and tortured!!!

Avoid the Caribbean Chicken Soup. This was just plain SWILL! $ 3.59? Not worth 9 cents! It was mostly water with 5 pieces of yuca(I guess) and maybe enough shredded chicken to fill 2 spoonfuls. What an example of FALSEADVERTISING! I made the mistake of trying this soup instead of going with what I usually order. I’ll never make that mistake again.

My favorite place to get some filling fast food for a cheap price. A small tropichop alone is enough to keep me satisfied for lunch or dinner. My only gripes about the place is that sometimes the wait can be pretty long even in the drive thru especially when everyone is trying to get their dinner for the night. The service here is decent but there have been times even after repeating an order that you don’t get exactly what you wanted.

Im from California, and in Cali there is Pollo loco, but this place tops it by far. The food is bomb here, it reminds me of a delicious home cooked meal, just like Mama would make it. I recomend this place it is a great place to eat, service is fast, people are nice. Thank you Miami for the great experience. By the way the place is clean and atmosphere is awesome!

8 employees all standing around with a line that moves like lava. Poor management. How do they make money? Good food tho

I like it a lot. Always good food– made fresh and given with unlimited toppings. I love their salsa bar and every time I go, I think I become a little bit crazier, trying to grab some of everything. They offer so much variety and everything looks so good– that you could try something new every time and you probably wouldn’t ever get bored. The service is nice though they could afford to learn better English. The food comes out pretty quick given that it’s made when ordered. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable and it’s always a bit busy with a variety of different people coming in to order. Everything is clean and stocked well. I’m from California and minus the fact this place is a bit bigger, it’s almost an exact replica of our place called El Pollo Loco. I’m craving it right now. Another plus is that it’s much healthier than most places and the chicken is white meat. Do try the plantains– they are heavenly.

Came to Pollo Tropical on lunch today around 1 pm. The parking lot was chaos as the line for the drive thru blocks the normal parking. Inside the restaurant is spacious with tons of seating and some outdoor seating. I ordered the trio with the ¼ chicken, pork and ribs with the rice & beans and the yucca with garlic oil. Everything was just mediocre except the yucca which I would never get again. I do recommend the spicy poyo poyo sauce. It took about 10 minutes to get our food. Between Pollo Tropical and Pollo Campero, Pollo Campero wins hands down everytime.

Flame broiled chicken, Ribs that fall off bone, slathered in cilantro mayo sauce and BBQ guava sauce. Get’s me hungry just thinking about it. Served up with rice and black beans, we NEED the Trop here on the West Coast! In the mean time, all I can do is dream

Service can be a bit slow, but I find that this location does a better job of restocking their utensils and sauces than the Biscayne location, which sometimes had crusty sauces(especially the garlic cilantro sauce… yes, I know, gross). The drive-thru attendants have always been friendly and chatty, they act like they enjoy their job, though I am sure they don’t, as we all know it’s an ungrateful job. Whenever I am looking for a quick, easy, cheap meal, Pollo Tropical is my go-to place. Certainly healthier than McDonald’s and other food options and right on my way down south when I am going to visit family!

My girlfriend, my friends and I flew into Miami last Friday night and checked into our hotel while waiting for another friend to arrive by car. It was 11:30pm by the time our friend arrived and we were starving since our flight didn’t include a meal. Luckily Pollo Tropical was right across the street and open for another half an hour. Unfortunately they basically ran out of everything but chicken around this time. Also by the time we made it across the street(in pouring rain, f*ck Miami weather) and decided what we wanted, they told us we had to take everything to go because they were going to close. So we just brought everything back across the street and ate in the hotel lobby. My girlfriend and I ordered the ½ Chicken Platter. For our sides we had the Caesar Salad and the Yuca with garlic Sauce. The chicken was really tasty and juicy. Amazingly even the breast meat was juicy. My girlfriend basically ate the entire salad and she hates eating vegetables so that’s saying something. I ate the yucca but I have to say, the texture was very unappealing. It was all slimy. My friends(another couple) ordered the Whole Grilled Chicken family Meal. They’re insane! Somehow they actually managed to finish ¾ of the chicken, the 4 rolls, a side of black beans and 2 tubs of rice. That is nuts I tell you! Nuts! I’m the type of person that loves condiments. Pollo Tropical does not disappoint when it comes to condiments. They have a pretty wide selection here. My favorites were definitely the Cilantro Garlic and the Curry Mustard. I found myself shredding the chicken meat just to dip in all the sauces.

My emails and tweets have gone unanswered so here is what I have sent to them: My girlfriend and I visited [this] location on 2710 S. Dixie Highway on Wednesday 5⁄15 at 11:30PM and had issues with the service at the drivethru. We ordered a whole chicken meal and wanted to add a side of two chicken breasts to the order. We were RUDELY told that the restaurant doesn’t have ANY separate chicken breasts. We found this very strange, seeing as we were ordering and receiving a whole chicken meal that automatically comes with two chicken breasts, so it seemed impossible that the restaurant could have NO separate chicken breasts to add to that meal. Instead, we ordered a side ¼ chicken, WHICHALSOHASCHICKENBREAST??? How is it that the restaurant could not have just cut these into separate chicken breasts? And the least the guy at the intercom could have done was not be rude. So, moving on from that we decided to get our sides. Beans, rice, and plantains, except, oh no, again, we were RUDELY told that the restaurant DIDNOTHAVEANYMOREPLANTAINS. Unfortunately, your restaurant was the only option open to us after a long night of performing and we needed to eat food or else we would have left after being treated like a nuisance. We were given the distinct feeling that we were bothering a restaurant that is trying to close early. There is no excuse for a restaurant that serves chicken to run out of chicken or plantains or anything for that matter. Weirdly, your Twitter feed told another customer that exact same thing on THEEXACTSAMEDAY that we had our issue. Ridiculous. We will not be coming to this location any longer. I have included a link to the tweet where your account said it was unacceptable.

I wanna give the OWNER of Pollo Tropical a 1 star for not expanding this chain so that I can eat this store’s food in my hometown whenever I want. Pollo Tropical is completely and utterly delicious! The variety of their menu is what pleases me most: several meat options, a plethora of delicious sides, great desserts/smoothies…oh my lands this is some good eating! «Yea yea, but what about the cost» you ask? Okay, yes, you may have to tack on an extra dollar or two more than your usual value meal price but in exchange you lose the bland taste & full, yet unfulfilled feeling character of your average fast food meal. I’m talking a SATISFIED full that surely had me patting my fat belly with a pleased as spiked punch look on my face. If you’re staying in South Beach, this location seems to be the most convenient because you can walk up a few blocks to catch the bus to this location and/or shell out about $ 11 for a cab ride if you’re too full & fat feeling to be waiting for the bus on the way back.
