I went to this place last night for dinner with a couple of friends and a few«new friends» that I had not met before. They picked the place, so I did not know what I was in for. I had checked out the menu on their web site and it seemed like a nice place. Boy, was I. .. RIGHT! The building is non de-script and we almost missed the entrance. When Sohan and I walked in, you would have never known that a quaint, homey, nicely decorated dinning room was inside. We were a party of 6, and the server re-arranged tables so that we had lots of room, and it felt like we had our own dining room. It is a «family-owned, family-like» restaurant, and there were 4 other«male couples» and two other«male-female» couples already dining. Everyone is welcome! ;-) The attire is casual, but you would not feel out of place wearing a suit and tie or cocktail dress. The menu is extensive and covers most all of the typical italian menu items. Some warm, «really smells good» bread was brought to the table. Seemed like it was a pressed pancetta, but I am not sure. I had a cup of pasta fagioli to start. It was nicely flavored and was just right to start. For my entrée I had the penne bella napoli(penne pasta, spinach, mushrooms, pine nuts, and sun-dried tomatoes, all tossed in a really great garlic infused olive oil. The portions are more than enough, and three of my friends didn’t finish theirs, and got take home boxes. Not me! It was so good, I wiped my plate clean with the bread! For desert I had a Mango Cheesecake that was a dense cheesecake with a nice mango topping, whipped cream and a strawberry. I also had a cappuccino, which was good. I am not a drinker, but they have a beer and wine license. The server was the chef’s wife and she was great. The service was timed perfectly. We waited for nothing. When we finished the anti-pasta and soup, the entrees followed within a minute or two. The food was piping hot and everyone complimented on how good it was. I will return and I would suggest that if you are looking for a quiet place for dinner, that has great Italian food, give this a try. I think you will like it. The owners also own the Village Café, I am told. So, I guess I will need to try that place out next!

This is a unique family owned restaurant. Food is fresh, presentation is excellent — portions are plenty. Friendly service. Restaurant has a new makeover — central location off Biscayne blvd

I went in for lunch at about 11:30 am and was pretty disappointed over all. I was greeted right away by the server and was seated right next to the door. I asked for another table and was told no. I realized later it was because he was setting up the dinning room for dinner service. Just a suggestion, if you advertise on your menu and your website that your lunch service is until 2:30 pm then leave the entire dinning room set up and available to your guest for lunch until then. First impressions was poor hospitality. Then his skills shined when he asked«are you ready yet» when he wanted my order. The food wasn’t much better than the service. I had the chicken carbonara & a cremé brulee. The chicken was dry and the pasta was overcooked and under seasoned and the sauce was bland. The cremé brulee wasn’t cooked through all the way. The middle looked like scrambled eggs, it was pretty gross actually. The light bulbs that were out and the missing light fixtures completely devalued and thing interesting about the décor. However I did enjoy The e cup of coffee and there was plenty of parking. There are so many other choices out there. I would never come back. With food and service like this its only a matter of months before they

Ok so I had only been here for breakfast, the omelets are very good, tasty, good portions at a good value. However, there was always this dwarf of a server who is an a** and mainly the reason why I don’t go anymore, if he is still there, do the right thing and don’t tip him, eventually he will get the message, talking to the manager won’t do much.

This is a neighborhood restaurant which excels in presentation, taste and service. The chicken and veal picata are excellent. And their baby green salad is superb. Try it. You will not be disappointed.

Revales is definitely a hidden gem on Biscayne Boulevard. Ever since discovering this place, we have been regulars at breakfast almost every weekend. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is excellent. The skirt steak eggs benedict is incredible. I am also a big fan of the crêpe Mexicana. You won’t go away hungry, and the prices are very reasonable. We went for lunch one day, and the breakfast is much better than the lunch.

This place is like one of the Best kept secrets in the Miami Shore area. its like a cozy mom and pops local Italian spot. The server is super nice and friendly and they aim to please. If you come during lunch its cars parked all across the street. We were first giving some Bread as appetizers and then i ordered the Shrimp and Salmon Salad, The Salad was blackened so also was the Shrimp, My Salad would have been better if they added a couple more shrimps to my plate but it was still nice. The Entrée also came with a Soup. Mine was the Lentil soup and he warmed me up i must say to prepare me for my salad. I heard the Dinner is even better so i look forward to trying out the Dinner menu next time i’m in town.

This place is great and they work very hard to do it right. The negative reviews look like set-ups to me, probably competitive restaurants. One of the problems with these open reviews is that competitors are able to trash someone without responsibility. Honestly, how anyone can criticize anything about this wonderful, value-driven, family-owned business is beyond me. Give them a shot. They have earned it.

DISGUSTING!!! Where is the option for ZEROSTARS! Revales has got to be the worst food I have ever had in Miami. Quite honestly, it is a crime to call it Italian. I have no problem saying that I would rather eat a pasta dinner on an American Airlines flight! Every sauce was from a cheap quality can or a jar. If you are looking for something that tatses like a TV dinner then you will feel right at home. We ordered the Pesto Gnocchi which had a brown sauce not«Green» and the Jumbo Shrimp Penne which was dripping in cheap oil, pasta had been pre-cooked and the sauce was repugnant. I ate«ONE» Gnocchi(which was my dish) and sent back my Caesar Salad because the wilted leaves were smothered in a dressing that tasted rotten and from a cheap bottle. How in the world is this place still in business! Wake up Miami. Microwaved canned/bottled food is not cuisine! DISGUSTING!!!

After driving past this restaurant many times we decided to give it a try. Small, non descript, nothing to really pull you in. When you walk in it has a real family feel to it. Small, comfy, old world Italian décor. Our server greeted us instantly and took our drink order while telling us about the specials. Wow, they had so many specials that all sounded so appealing. I could not believe how large the menu was, from pasta dishes, to veal, chicken, steak, salads, enough to please anyone’s discerning taste. They first brought over some fresh foccacia type bread, oil and vinegar on the table. The bread was warm and delish! Our server was awesome, so friendly, fast and efficient, with a great personality. Now this guy looked like he enjoyed his job. When he came to take our order I noticed they did not have Eggplant Parm on the menu so I asked if they could make it. He said of course anything you would like. Score! A bit skeptical about if it would be good, hubby then ordered a chicken dish. Our food arrives and whew, our platters were huge, enough food for two days. Portions are very large here. First bite of my eggplant parm and I was so happy and satisfied, with a side of penne pasta and good sauce, yes, yes man this was a great meal. Hubby very much enjoyed his chicken dish as well. What a great surprise when you walk in with really no expectations and to get an excellent meal made my night. Now the prices are very reasonable. Most dishes are under $ 15 and go up for meat and veal dishes. The owner came to our table to see if we enjoyed his food. Yes the owner is also the chef and what a very nice guy. He made us feel very welcome and really cared about our experience. The wine list was just OK, wish they had a bigger selection. A must go to for a casual Italian excellent meal with great service. See you soon!

I did the $ 12 lunch special, and I ordered the chicken piccata, which was average. The sauce looked pre-made — similar in consistency to the sauce at a Chinese restaurant that accompanies the chicken & broccoli. The caesar salad, on the other hand, was superb. My only regret was that I did not order the caesar salad as my entire meal(yes, it was THAT good)! My guest ordered the chicken parmesan, which in my opinion was excellent. The chicken was well-breaded, and the flavor was full and the tomatoes seemed fresh in the sauce. Though, with the tomatoes they were serving on the house salad to her beforehand, I am not surprised. .. they were bright red, looked almost fake, and tasted fresh and sweet. The service was OK. I had to wait about 10 minutes to get a refill on my iced tea, so I walked up to the bar and asked for it myself. When that happened, the manager(or maybe the bartender) noticed what I was doing and took over as my server. From that moment forward, service was great.

Everytime I drive up Biscayne Blvd. this place is PACKED. So decided to try it on a Saturday afternoon. What a let down, I had the chicken parm, and my partner in crime had the chicken marsala. All the sauces tasted like it was store bought and the chicken tasted like those frozen for a million years breast found in your frozen section at a grocery store. Only thing that was decent were the desserts chocolate mousse, and the crème brûlée

This hole in the wall family-owned Italian venue squares off against Miami’s Italian’s best. And guess what? The prices are also very reasonable. I almost want to keep it secret since the selection on Biscayne is nothing to brag about but figured the family deserves the rave. We first visited for dinner. I tried their special that day, a seafood linguini in a white wine like sauce. There were plenty of mussels, shrimp, clams and not the little bitty ones. In addition, all was fresh and tasty as if it had jumped out of the sea and into our plate. The serving was also plentiful; My man had to finish off my dish. On our second visit I had the chicken parm perfectly breaded and the meat was tender and moist. It came with a small bowl of al dente pasta which I added some more parmesan(extra cheese is not necessary, I am just a cheesy person). The soft and long bread sticks with what seems to be toasted parm is also very tasty however save the space for your meal, you’ll be glad you did. We have made it our favorite new Italian spot on the Biscayne corridor.

And the hunt continues. By this I mean attempting to find a decent Italian restaurant in Miami not located in a massive resort-hotel. That being said, I’ll describe what I felt to be an underwhelming and altogether mediocre dining experience. The room itself is alright, a nice comfortable small dining room, capable of seating around 40 – 60 at first glance. Upon seating, my party of three were presented with menus, one lunch, one dinner and one brunch menu. Seeing as how we were there to enjoy dinner, I had to ask two separate times to replace the irrelevant menus. It might also be worth mentioning that steak is not spelled«stake» as it was on their menu description of a skirt steak. This was our introduction to what Pesce-Elliot from the Miami Herald«a neighborhood gem.» Service: Competent, but no necessarily friendly, let alone warm. As there were only 4 other tables filled in the restaurant(half-occupancy), apparently the members of the front of the house were bored as they lounged and gabbed behind the bar. Upon leaving there was no goodbye or acknowledgement. It was about 8:30, and as we walked to our car in the only available parking lot, the kitchen door was wide open and a steward was hosing off rubber kitchen mats in the parking lot. To be fair, they were slightly better than the average Miami front of the house staff. My main gripe is not with them. Food: First off, the accoutrement on the table. Mediocre olive oil and balsamic, not that I’m expecting excellent cold press and aged vinegar, but if you’re going to buy budget product, at least put them in a nice glass or ceramic bottle. The salt was iodized table salt, I didn’t know restaurant with tables and stemmed glassware still used that stuff. Then came the bread, which looked like a housemade focaccia, because I certainly hope a professional baker knows how to proof bread and allow it to rise during baking. It was dense and under seasoned. We started with a bruschetta with fagioli and an antipasto plate. The beans on the bruschetta(thin grilled pieces of their mediocre focaccia) had been poured straight out of a can and tossed with old tomato concasse. The antipasto platter had dry pre-sliced prosciutto de parma, a decent soppressata but everything else was garbage. Canned artichoke hearts with no seasoning, oil, acidic flavor, no nuthin’. In fact, I think some of the liquid from the can was still on the plate. Mediocre, dry«fresh» mozzarella(not buffalo, but keep in mind this is not an expensive restaurant) topped by a previously refrigerated tomato slice doused in balsamic. Also squatting on the plate was a pile of some sort of soggy pepper compote. We had come for pasta, and ordered accordingly. We ordered a gnocchi with tomatoes, penne napoli and bucatini amatriciana. After 25 minutes of waiting after our a appetizers were cleared, a waiter arrived with three(much to their credit) steaming hot plates of our pasta. These mammoth piles of starch would make a Cheesecake Factory devotee turn and run for the hills. I for one am put off when served an insurmountable task under the guise of food, and this was no exception. I poked and prodded my amatriciana, tasted some mediocre pre-sliced Hormel tasting bacon and and the undercooked(not al dente, but undercooked) bucatini and gave up, a little relieved. One of our party had the penne, served with anemic sun-dried tomatoes, soggy spinach and what seemed to be pre-sauteed(as in pre-that day) mushrooms. The real shame of this dish was the puddle that it was sitting in, a greasy mixture of what seemed to be butter that didn’t quite emulsify into a mystery liquid(my bet is pasta water or chicken stock). Like everything else, it was under-seasoned. The gnocchi was a pleasant surprise. If it wasn’t fresh, house-made, then it was an excellent bought product cooked properly in a light vodka rose sauce. We all ended up picking off of this plate as the other two were as previously described. And that was that. We were polite, paid our bill, quite reasonable to say the least, and left. Look, if other Miami eateries such as Casa Toscana or Café Prima Pasta are places you enjoy, than Revales’ mediocre flavor bereft pile o’ food is right up your alley. I’m just a cranky chef who seems to expect more from his local«neighborhood gems».

A friend has been raving about this place and we finally went. Awesome food, low prices, decent service. The veal parm I had was just perfect. The breading was light and the meat was tender. Not greasy. The kind of meal that makes you feel good inside. Comfort food. The fettuccine alfredo side was good, too. Pasta very tasty, made me suspect it was homemade but I’m not certain. This place is a nice little family hole in the wall(in a good way) that seems to serve quality food at good prices. Our service suffered a little bit towards the end. It was a Monday night and the visible staff seemed a little bored and distracted. I’ll definitely end up back here soon at which point I’ll make sure to update.

After driving by this place for what seemed to be like an eternity, last week I finally decided to give it a try. Inside you find a small dining room that reminded me a bit of Casa Toscana. There’s also another room with more tables adjacent to it. I looked over the menu for a few minutes and decided on the Pollo Piccata which is pan seared chicken with lemon, capers in a white wine sauce served with mashed potatoes and julienne vegetables. The entrée came with salad or cup soup and I was in the mood for soup. I could have either white bean or pasta figoli. Feeling adventurous I went with the white bean. They also brought some fresh bread to the table which was good. At first when my dish came out I had to question wether it was chicken or fish, but after I actually tasted it there was no question. The lemon/white wine/capers gave it a nice flavor that I normally didn’t associate with chicken. I enjoyed my meal and was satisfied with the soup/entrée combination so I had no inclination to order dessert. The price of $ 10 was very reasonable for this kind of meal. Sometimes you can’t even get an entrée for $ 10. There were some other items on their lunch menu like pizzas and paninis which I am very curious about, but that will have to be another day and another adventure.
