Steak ‘n Shake

I don’t know what happen to this place this used to be one of my favorites place to eat. The worst service ever. Stay away!

Food wise, not bad. It’s a typical diner place with burgers, fries and delicious shakes but terrible service. I keep coming back because I genuinely enjoy the food but the service is always incredibly slow. Not a good place for a quick bite. It’s definitely not-​so-​fast «fast food».

Normally we LOVE this place. We come every weekend. Kids eat free on the weekend so we do a lot of breakfasts here. Betty is our usual server and she is fantastic — unfortunately today is the first time I have been less than impressed here and it is 100% the fault of the server. I’m not going to allow her poor behavior and etiquette to sway my review but steer clear of «Rosario» if given a choice.

Burgers taste great, and they have the best shakes. However, the French fries are always cold and have to get sent back, and the shakes take forever to get to the table-​they usually arrive after you’re done with your food.

I never tried the food because we had to leave. The place is full of juveniles laughing loudly. The police was called to one particular obnoxious juvenile. Thats when we left. This place has too many teenagers and they need a security guard at the door. I will never come back.

The food is good but every time i go to eat they take forever to give me my food and I see they are not busy. They are just talking to each other while I am waiting to order. Customer service was not at its best.

Please, stay away from this restaurant. The quality of your burger will be s**t. Ive gone through the drive through and the service is very incompetent and you will regret you bought food there.

Fast food, very cheap and pretty good burgers. They have a burger with avocado and one with a fried egg. Their shakes are unbelievable! Great parking too. Wish there were more in our area. The closest one is 15 miles from us. Great place for kids and families to stop in for a quick bite!

Aweful customer service, DO NOT EAT HERE! First thing that we were told was the wait time for the food was at least 30 – 45 minutes, which it was fine with us since we did not have any other open ²⁴⁄₇ restaurant. When we got finally got seated we preferred a booth, but the server refused to seat us in one and laughed at us with her pal and the cook. I was so embarrased that we lost our appetite and walked out from this place. Not a nice experience at all, now i understand why this place has a poor rating. I did not see any manager on site to bring this to their attention, maybe that’s why employees feel free to make fun of their own customers, from who their paycheck comes from. No matter if I am starving again, I won’t visit this place not ever again.

In one phrase: terrible service. Took us an hour to get seated, and then another 30 minutes for the waiter to ask us what we wanted to drink. On multiple occasions, the waiters act as if you’re not even there. Food is reasonably priced with meals averaging $ 4 – 6 dollars. I’ve been here many times because I live in the area and it’s gotten to the point where I just do drive-​through to avoid the service and having to tip terrible waiters. This is not a place where you would want to eat with friends, or even have a date. For the food, all burgers a worth the value. The fries are skinny but always come out cold.

We arrived at 11:00am and all we have received is our water after we order or food… and is now 11:30 and we still don’t have silver wear… We waited so long to get our food! The worst service ever

This was the spot back when i was in high school. Now a days i visit it occasionally on days I don’t mind waiting for service. It is true service at this location really isn’t the greatest but its a bunch of high school kids working so what to expect? Usually when you walk in you will stand by the «wait to be seated» sign for well over 5 – 10 min before some one acknowledges you. Then when you are finally sat there will be another 10 – 15 min wait for your order to be taken. So overall expect to at least lose anywhere between 20 – 30 min in just getting settled. Then the wait for the food depends how packed they are but usually another 30 min. If you order a shake add an extra 20 min. Lol unfortunately this is the reality of coming to this Steak N Shake.
As far as the food (if you haven’t died waiting) lol it is pretty good. The burgers aren’t huge so you might want to double up. I really like their little thin fries. And of course the shakes are pretty official.

I don’t understand why it takes a half hour every time and I’m always asked to park in the front and wait… it’s ridiculous!

Horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE SERVICE. The waitress was inattentive. We never received our drinks and didn’t even have napkins or utensils. There was only two other tables besides ours and two waitresses on the floor. Even so, we were neglected and did not even receive the bare minimum necessary for a meal. The waitress was too busy sitting down and flirting with the other patrons than to pay us the slightest mind or give us common human courtesy. The food was mediocre at best We will never return to this particular restaurant or any other steak and shake elsewhere.
If i could rate this less than one star i would. It deserves zero stars, and thats being generous. Save yourself the headache and never go to this institution.

Considering the fact that there are not many Steak and Shake restaurants around you would think they would have truly trained employees that actually like their job! Why would anyone on earth serve an «ICE“cream sundae with a few large chunks of freezer burned ice cream? Common sense people!!! After going through the drive through, which defeats the purpose because they asked us to pull up to a parking space and they will bring out our ice cream dessert order (15 minutes later) no lie. To encounter this once we got home! Don’t recommend this Steak and Shake, especially the one on Kendall Drive and 157^th Ave.

Cheaper than McDonnals, better quality than McDonnals. Very large shake varieties. Service there is great but they always tend to be understaffed so they can be a little slow but still attentive. Their fries are my weakness.
*the drive thru does take a pretty long time, but you have to remember that you’re getting what you pay for (it’s worth the wait)*

Worst experience ever
I ordered a Mint Oreo shake and Cajun fries
I ended up waiting 35 + minutes and when they brought the shake it was the wrong one and then they forgot the fries. I then asked for my money back and I get coupons. In other words Garbage service and not willing to work with customer!!!

If there’s something I hate is bad service. I had been sitting for 10 minutes. I was there with my family and was going to the movies. Well we got skipped twice because the servers took care of others that had gotten there after us. So then finally I had to wave down someone and complain for someone to take care of us.
We finally got our food after I reminded the waiter of our food and our rush. Well I know that the food was sitting for a while cuz it was warm not hot.
So they brought that but forgot our shakes. So then the waiter took off to bring that. The whole experience took forever. Even to pay it took forever.
Got there at 7:30 left at 8:50. Mind you the movie was at 8:45.
Never going there again.
Thank God for previews because we made just when the last one was playing.

ill be honest, i used to love Steak N Shake. but this place has deteriorated over the years. The restaurant was a disgusting pig sty. We had a family of 7 sitting next to us (5 kids). They left soom after we ordered byt the mess they left behind stayed there during our entire meal. Now, i dont know about you but i dont want to eat surrounded by other peoples left overs and spilled sauces/​condiments.
Little by little, people would finish and leave. leaving behind piles of direty dishes with absolutely no bus service to speak.
It will be awhile before i return.
Regardless of how good those damn Frisco Melts are!

Not somewhere I go out of my way to visit but enjoyable if I’m in the area and in the mood for a nice shake. Food isn’t bad, fries a bit greasy but the burgers are ok. They have a $ 4 menu which makes it affordable for a last minute bite. Their breakfast menu is decent and affordable. Eggs and sausage actually taste better than in other establishments. Service is good if you eat there but it can sometimes be on the slow side.
