My favorites are the Lady in Red roll and the Y.O.K roll. This sushi spot is second to none.

My favorite is the Lucy roll, however, anything that is ordered is totally DELICIOUS! I highly recommend.

By far the best sushi in a 20 mile radius, Vic the owner is always there and always makes you feel at home.

I bought some sushi today but sadly on the last sushi roll I almost swallowed a piece of pointy metal staple and it made me cringe. This isn’t the first time I get sushi there but I may not go back for awhile,

Very nice place. Made to order sushi. Friendly staff. The place needs some updates. But good over all.

Time after time this place is a solid choice, especially for the area. The service is always good the twenty or so times I’ve been here.

Best sushi spot I’ve been too. I go there regular and I’m always treated good and everything I order comes out greAt. I have no complaints.

This is a great local spot, their Tom Kha Kai soup is on point. I’ve never had a bad meal there and it is not over priced.

Decent for the area. Not disappointing but not out of this world. They do get extra points for having«help yourself» bottles is eel sauce and spicy mayo. It’s a little expensive for the quality. Overall good.

Hands down, best panang curry chicken in town! I love everything about this little hole in the wall. They have plenty of seating — sushi bar, regular tables and booth like, privacy tables with small tvs. It’s super cool! All their sushi is always incredibly fresh; one of my favorite sushi dishes is their tuna tar tar. It’s served with avocado, spaghetti carrots and some kind of heavenly sauce. I ate here last night and haven’t stopped thinking about that curry though! If you haven’t eaten here, go now because you won’t regret it!

Good sushi. I have had lunch here at least 8 times. Their Thai ice tea is delicious, although they add a lot of ice. Their shrimp Panang is also great. The only problem is that every time I order sushi to go, they forget to put soy sauce in the bag. They put teriyaki sauce instead! I guess they get confused because they kinda look the same, but happens EVERY time. I gave up. I just stopped ordering to go. If I can’t sit and eat I just don’t go.

I’d have to agree with a number of Unilocalers. This place does have good food for the area, but when compared to locations further away it would probably come in at average or below. We were greeted by very friendly servers, but they were casually dressed in jeans and sweat shirts. It kind of threw me off. I’m all for casual spots, but with dine in restaurants(that aren’t diners) I would prefer a cleaner look from the staff(then again maybe I came on an off day). We ordered miso soup(it was tasty, but very dark), sushi rolls(good), dipped food in spicy mayo(a little too sweet, but at least they used the correct japanese mayo to make it!), and udon noodles(average, but it wasn’t a soup like I expected). All in all, would I go again? Yes. And I would recommend it to people in the area. But would I recommend people making a special trip just to try the food? Probably not.

I’ve come here with my boyfriend several times because it’s close to out home and reasonably priced. However, the customer service is poor. They tend to the large groups first even if you arrived before them and will often forget to bring you the beverages. They take long to take your order and leave you forgotten. I get the impression that they’ll do good the first times and stop paying attention to you when it gets busy. Although the food is good, I’m not going to give my money to people that don’t value their customers.

I went here with a friend because she recommended this sushi place. She told me they were originally from New York and relocated to Miami. We went to lunch here on a Friday and it was quiet empty. We immediately got a seat. This place is more like a latino/asian fusion since it has not just Japanese food. It had Vietnamese and Thai as well. My friend ordered a baked salad and 3 musketeers roll. I ordered the pad thai, tamago, sake(salmon) and ikura. The baked salad had tuna poke, seaweed salad in a bed of carrots and of course the baked part which is baked fish underneath a mayo mixture with hot sauce which is where I think the latino fusion comes in. They even had the sauce at the table as well which I believe is not typical for a sushi restaurant. The pad thai was tasty however I thought the portion was small for the price. And the sushi I ordered a la carte, I am use to to getting two pieces each at a sushi joint. However, I only got one each. So I thought it was expensive for what it is. Overall, I thought the sushi was just ok. The rice had the right amount of mixture of vinegar, sugar and salt. But the fish didn’t taste as fresh and the tamago was a bit dense. If you like fushion with different Asian cultures, this is the place to go. It just isn’t my cup of tea and I prefer more of an authentic taste.

Best sushi… not like the chains nearby. Rice was just the right tenderness and the fish was fresh! The first taste of miso soup blew my mind. The taste was exquisitely defined but not overbearing.

I came here for the first time yesterday night and wow this place really surprised me! But then again, the hole in the walls are always the best! I was with a big group and we ordered a few appetizers like a tuna salad, tuna & chips and some sort of fish tataki. Some of these dish names I may have gotten wrong, but OHMYGOD all of these were SOOOOGOOD! I was literally in seafood heaven. Wow! I ordered the Double Rainbow roll and it has got to be the best rainbow roll I’ve ever had in any sushi restaurant. The rice was at a perfect consistency for sushi, fish was fresh and overall just very delicious! My glass of water was never left empty. Staff was extremely nice & welcoming. Really amazing experience & I will definitely be coming back again! :D

We have a few sushi restaurants in the area. Sushi Lico is the best of the bunch. That’s not to say it’s perfect, far from. Just the best around here. The restaurant itself is located in a pretty grungy shopping center that has the worst parking of any shopping center I’ve ever been in. Ok, get past the parking lot and the über shady people in the shopping center(think Kendall ghetto), and you have to contend with the dim lighting and dated décor of the restaurant itself. The menu is diverse enough that everyone should be able to find something. The food itself is pretty good. The usual suspects are acceptable and things like the Lucy roll stand out. Take the same ingredients, food, preparation and presentation and put it in another location with a better staff and bam, you have five stars. Ahh… The staff. They don’t answer the phone, at times fail to acknowledge customers, are slow to respond and just lack attention to detail and customer service. So why do we keep coming back? Like I said, the food is all that and then some…

This is definitely a hole in the wall, authentic Japanese/Thai restaurant! There’s only about 9 tables, some of which you can arrange together for big parties. Evidently, the owners of Sushi Lico happen to be family with the owners of Ruson Japanese a Steak house! And boy… Were my boyfriend and I in for a treat. Tonight, we were in the mood for strictly sushi, so we started off with a sushi appetizer called Tiger Eyes and three rolls as our entrees. Tiger eyes is a rice-less roll made with squid, asparagus, and salmon, all of which are baked in the oven. The salmon is rolled up into tender squid with a small piece of asparagus in the middle to create the«eye» image. Genius! These rolls are small and just enough to open up your appetite! Absolutely delicious but after two pieces, the fishy taste of the squid + salmon together became too overwhelming for me, personally. My boyfriend on the other hand happily devoured the rest though haha. Order this wayyy ahead of time though because it takes a while to bake the squid The Spicy Lobster is a MUSTHAVE! If you’re on a budget, this is half the price of the original lobster roll and it’s so good that you’ll have to finish the last bite, as much as your stomach is exploding! The lobster tail is lightly tempura’d and rolled into rice with avocado and spicy mayo drizzled over.

Sushi Lico… I really wanted to love you! My husband and I arrived around 9pm on a Thursday night. I was super excited since I had bookmarked this place a few days ago and had created a list with the top recommendations I read on Unilocal. We loveeeeee sushi and go once a week to our favorite spot which I still have not found any to outrank it, Bonsai! Yes it’s pricey but the décor, service and flavor is yet to be beaten. Any how back to Sushi Lico. When you arrive it’s literally a run down shopping center and the restaurant sign seems to be broken because it’s not lit and was hard to find. The place inside is outdated and in desperate need of remodeling. The seating setup, colors, everything screams run! We try to ignore it since reviews were good on Unilocal and decided to proceed to order our meals since we were starving! When you walk in the waitress from across the restaurant«screams» «sit any where you want!» We were taken back but whatever… After sitting for what it felt like eternity we were greeted by Neesey, our waitress which seem to be needing some classes on her profession which includes hospitality, multitasking and knowing the menu! Even before she can leave to give us time to review the menu, I asked for a Lucy Roll /JR2 roll combo which is called the Patty I believe. It’s supposedly 6 pieces of each roll. In addition we ordered the E-haneee roll(which my husband was eager to try since it brings steak on top) and I was in the mood for baked seafood so I the waitress suggested the Dynamite roll. Food prep was quick, rolls arrived in about 10 mins. They were good not out of this world but just good. Better than others but not the best. The e-haneee lacked flavor. Meat was sliced so thin you couldn’t taste it. The dynamite was not something I would order again. Our favorites if we had to choose was Lucy and JR2. I found Lucy tasteful and my husband really liked the JR2 creaminess. This is why it gets 2 stars. Only for these 2 rolls! However they were incomplete as we were missing a roll. We got 5 on one and 6 on the other. The waitress had told us it brings 6 each. After we finished our meal, again waitress was in outer space. So much so that another waitress noticed we cleaned the table and stacked the plates and came by to see if we wanted dessert. Our waitress never came to see how we were doing or to refill our obviously emptied cups! Same new waitress brought the bill as ours never returned and was seen chatting it up with the cooks, upon arriving it was different prices than what the menu reflected… so people beware! As I informed the waitress and she replied that they increased prices but haven’t been able to order new menus!!! WTF??? Not a big deal for us as it was only $ 1 or $ 2 more each item but it’s the principle! It’s misleading and feel bad for someone that wouldn’t be able take a increased bill. She irritatingly said without us asking that she will adjust the bill to reflect menu prices but that she was doing us a favor. Honey! I am doing you a favor by not reporting you as this is trickery and unprofessional practice! Don’t think we would be returning and I really wanted to love this place :(
