The best sushi spot in Miami. Excellent food, excellent service, casual, fast. Love this place!

Of all the sushi I’ve tried, this little hole in the wall will always be my favorite. My family has been going to The Sushi Bar for over 6 years already. I recently took my boyfriend and after swearing to never like sushi, he can’t stay away from here for over a week! Jason is the heart of the Sushi Bar. Ask him to surprise you with a Roll and he will not disappoint! My favorite rolls are the Coco, Pomy, and Alex 2 Rolls.

My co-workers and I have tried every roll that’s on the wall and never have been disappointed. Amazing!!!

I’ve been to this restaurant numerous times and don’t let its size fool you. The rolls are phenomenal. If it’s you’re first time try the SQUINTS rolls. It’s a personal favorite and a must! Everything on the white boards are delicious. Honestly some of the best sushi in town!

Really excellent sushi. Very fresh and delicious. I always order the tuna tar tar it’s great. And when I want to change it up their fried rice is yummy.

Their rolls are amazing. Check out the board to try something new. I love the Caliente roll & my husband always gets the Mickey roll. The fried rice, noodles, and teriyaki are great too. It’s best for takeout and Jason & Tony are so nice.

Rather underwhelmed with this place in spite of the raving reviews. This place is rather hidden, in the inside corner of the plaza, I didn’t even know this place is around in spite of having been to the supermarket, Jamaican place and Italian restaurant in the plaza. First off, I like small restaurants, but hole-in-the-wall does not equal dirt and grime. Especially when we are talking about sushi. On that note, maybe it’s for the best that they don’t offer many rolls with raw fish. Most are fried shrimp, cooked fish and the like, which is not my favorite. The taste of the sushi is just so-so, nothing to wow my tastebuds. True, the sushi is inexpensive, but really, good sushi is not cheap. All in all, won’t be back.

This place has the BEST sushi, it is a hole in the wall making it a HIDDENGEM! I have been coming here since 2007, the rolls are delicious and the service is awesome, they really treat you like one of their own. I will continue to come here for all my sushi cravings :)

Absolutely loved this place! It might look like a hole in the wall especially since it’s soooo hidden. The customer service it’s excellent, very informative and friendly. They don’t have much seating arrangements, but they are quick to make the food plus they have take out as well. If you are going for the 1st time you must try their specialty rolls: Michelle, Pomy, and Chahi. Those were my first-timer rolls and they really captured my attention to come right back. If you love sushi it’s a must go place. Next I want to try their fried rice & chicken teriyaki that I read is just as delicious as their rolls. Can’t wait! My friends and I left very satisfied and happy.

My boo and I arrived here on a Saturday evening after some shopping to give it a try. We were close to home but we were both too hungry to cook so we decided to give this place a chance. When we looked inside the bar from the outside it was pretty crowded. So not sure what to do I went inside the Jamaican place next door to grab some patties for the both us. Then my boo called as he saw 2 seats available at the bar. We go in and it is small. We sat towards the end near the empty fish tank and waited for a few minutes before being served. We ordered some hot tea and the Kani Su to start. Then we ordered some of their rolls. Looking around the bar it felt a little grimy. Didn’t feel clean. Then I noticed a chef or two making the rolls with their bar hands. What the heck? This must be a happening spot as it looked like a lot of college kids here. When it gets crowded it is pretty difficult to get comfortable at the bar. Looking at the tables below, you can barely walk through the isle. The prices were reasonable but the ambiance was not the greatest. The food just ok. Not sure if we will be giving this place a try again if in the area.

I live a few minutes from this place and just discovered it. It’s a tiny hole in the wall, but it’s the best sushi I’ve ever had. Since its so small, I wouldn’t dine-in. Call at least an hour before you want your sushi ready because its one young guy hand rolling all the sushi. Amazing sushi.

So freaking good! The fish is so fresh, everything is so delicious. Huge variety of fish: white fish, yellowtail, crab. The menu is huge, but definitely take your time to read through everything. It will be worth your initial effort. Seating is a bit tight, but during down time is a great time to go so you can seat yourself easily. Price point is right there what one would normally pay for a roll of sushi. Definitely a must for quality sushi.

As good as the food is, it’s not worth waiting an hour to get sushi. You can get sushi all over Miami. I’ve been waiting for my food for 45 minutes and people who were here before us just got their food. AND the service doesn’t help.

Okay I was not impressed at all! I kept hearing people say how good the sushi was so I gave it a try. I dont care how good your sushi is, if your restaurant is not clean, I am never coming back! There is residue everywhere! I don’t like eating on a sushi bar where I have a dust infested fan blowing on my food. The sushi bar had splashes of food and sauces that we’re who knows how old. Yuck just yuck! I ordered chicken teriyaki and the chicken had that hard rubbery texture when chicken has been over frozen. I asked for an alternative and they did me the favor of lowering the price of the plate. Maybe a dollar or two whopteedoo. Anyways, the sushi was good but I wouldn’t venture into ordering anything else.

This spot is the best sushi spot in Miami! Seriously, I’m not even exaggerating. I love sushi, and I’ve gone to a lot of(expensive) sushi restaurants, but there’s just something about this place. First of all, it’s TINY! I think only about 15 – 20 people fit in here at a time. The good news is that the service is pretty fast since you’re literally sitting at the bar. You get to see how the sushi is being made, why is one of my favorite parts. You’ll have your order made and ready to eat pretty fast. Now the food… WOW! They have your classic sushi that you’ll find in any other place, which is good for people that aren’t took crazy about weird food/combos. The best prt about this spot is the sushi board. Here you’ll find all the crazy sushi rolls that other people have created & have become customer favorites… Have you ever tried a sushi roll with guava? Well, you’re gonna have to now! Serious, don’t even bother trying any of the classics. You can get that anywhere else. They also can create basically anything you want. You just tell them what you like(or don’t like) and let them surprise you, if you’re into that kind of stuff.

My favorite sushi spot! Yes, it is SUPERSMALL, but you can always take-out. They also have the Alex #2 roll which is my favorite! The sexy mama is also delicious! Jason is great and if you aren’t sure of what you want he will help you out.

Alex #2 please! This place really is a hidden gem. The best rolls in town. Seriously. who in Miami eats sushi and hasn’t heard of an Alex #2?! Definitely not a place to go in a group because it only seats about 10 people comfortably in the whole place… but you can order for take out and eat it with your friends elsewhere. Oh, and don’t forget the fantastic service — everyone here is really nice. Jason in particular always remembers us and what we order, and always has a smile.

I loooooove their sushi. They have the typical sushi everyone has, but they also have very creative rolls(think cilantro, mahi, guava, fresh mango, etc). The creative rolls vary and are listed in the restaurant, so instead of ordering on the phone, I suggest going there & placing the order in person in order to not miss out on something different & delicious. Also, I really like the size of their rolls. They aren’t over-sized, so they fit perfectly in my mouth :) I would give them 5 stars based on food alone. The only problems I have there are #1 it’s so tiny in there that you really need to get your order to go and #2 they close early(9pm) & are totally closed on Sun(I understand it’s family day, but it makes it harder to go since I work Mon-Sat).

Ok let me be clear. This is a hole in the wall and i did not waltz in here expecting a 5 star dining experience. But I expected some sort of proper service and attention. The food was 3 stars at best but the service was a serious 1. Just bad. We ordered the roxy, Orlando and sunset roll and a vegetable tempura appetizer. The first thing that came out was the roxy which was spicy tuna with tuna on top. The rice was not cooked well and it was incredibly bland. Next came out the vegetable tempura which was such a joke. They give you the little shavings from the vegetables only!!! They give this to you across the street at Kampai in addition to real vegetables for the same damn price! The sunset roll was not much better. Bland all the way. Then the Orlando was possibly the only redeeming roll but nothing great or even remotely good. To make matters worse I had to ask for them to bring me soy sauce plates, I had to ask for them to give me ginger and I had to ask for them to clear the giant stack of plates and dirty napkins on my little 2 person table. Oh, and I was never asked if I would like my iced tea refilled which was bone dry. We didn’t even bother finishing the Orlando roll. Paid, left a deserving tip and walked over to the Jamaican restaurant next door and got us delicious Jamaican patties. How on earth anyone can say this is great or even good sushi is astounding. There is nothing good about this place. I love a diamond in the ruff. Trust me. But this is a huge let down by any standards— especially by fellow Unilocalers. If you’re thinking of coming here do yourself a favor and either go to Jamaica Kitchen next door or across the street to Kampai for much better food.
