I went here a couple months ago and was told they didn’t have any chicken! Your name has CHICKEN in it, how do you not have any chicken! Anyways thought that it was maybe just a fluke it was like 7 pm? So i went back on Saturday at 4pm ordered the $ 20 fillup, which is 8 pieces of chicken 2 large mashed potatoes 1 gravy and 4 biscuits. Got to the window and was told they only have 2 pieces of original chicken both wings! Not off to a good start again, was told that they could do the other 6 grilled, which I’m not a fan of, but my girlfriend said that was fine. I reluctantly paid and then was told they don’t have biscutes! WHAT! What do you mean you don’t have biscuits! Why let me pay then. Anyways I Got the food minus the biscutes and now i see why they only had grilled chicken, it was so dried out it was inedible. Never again, I’m done with KFC expecially this one.

This restaurant regularly runs out of stock and the employees were rude and disrespectful. Avoid it like the plague.

I would give a zero if I can. The place is awful! The staffs don’t know what they are doing. Once i ordered a $ 5 fill up and all they had to do is to put the chicken, the biscuit, the cookie, and the mashed potato into a box and the server doesn’t even know how to do it. She just stood around and waited. What was she waiting for? It’s not like they fry the chicken after people order… Disappointment. So I usually drive a bit further and go to the LaPorte KFC.

This place is awful!!! Once I walked in the door the odor was not of chicken, it was the overwhelming stench of the bathrooms. The staff did not have pleasant hygiene either. I visited a KFC in Portage it was a complete 180 of this particular establishment. In my opinion, KFC in Michigan City should be shut down by the Health Department and burnt to the ground! I’m sure they have plenty of grease to accomplish this!

It was about 11:45am on Friday August 3rd2012 on our trip home from Grand Rapids and we had the sudden urge for KFC. We had a few more miles before we would be crossing the Illinois border and figured we’d stop before we hit heavy Chicago traffic. We looked through our«The Next Exit» book to see what restaurants at which exits we were approaching. Heading West on I-94 towards Chicago, the first KFC we would hit was apparently at exit 34B(going North onto Franklin Blvd in Michigan City. We arrived at 12:05pm and there was already a line at the drive-thru. We decided to go inside to place our order. As we got out of the car we noticed what we thought was a KFC manager unloading his car with a big box. It looked like a box of uncooked chicken. What kind of chicken restaurant runs out of chicken at 12 noon? We decided to go inside to place our order. It was a 95 degree day and the restaurant air conditioner was not working. Amazingly, there were patrons dining and enduring the uncomfortably hot, humid restaurant. As I was waiting in line, other customers walked in behind me and decided to turn around and leave. In fact, a girl that was waiting in line in her car at the drive-thru decided to come inside. She looked at the length of the waiting line and the condition of the store and walked out. In all of the fifty states that my wife and I have travelled to, I have never been to a KFC that’s been been so poorly run! As I walked in, the garbage can next to the front door was already overflowing full. Had they not emptied the garbage can since yesterday? I walked into the store and immediately noticed my shoes making«sticky noises». The floors were greasy as well. The floors were disgusting throughout the restaurant making me think that food/drink on the floor was NOT just recently spilled but in fact dirty from the previous day. The other issues I had with this particular restaurant were: there was a «wait» for biscuits(at 12 noon??), No ice in the self-serve soda pop dispenser(again… at 12 noon???) No small lids and only three large lids for the soda pop cups. I must say that the counter girl(Kathy?) was very courteous and friendly but slow and not at the top of her game. The food was hot and fresh but the general cleanliness and overall organization was incredibly subpar. My suggestion is to skip this KFC location and try another.
