HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Can you give zero stars? Just had a pedicure at Q Nails today. He cut nails too short, then filed too close, pulled my cuticles several times that I had to pull my foot away, scrubbed so long in places I had to pull foot away. Maybe if he hadn’t been WATCHING SO MUCH TV while doing his job I would not be in so much pain. Now I’m going to put a bandaid on my pinky toe. Instead of going here, why don’t you find a way to inflict pain on yourself that doesn’t cost $ 30?

Truth: I have crappy nails. Thin and brittle — and I was always a nail biter, which didn’t help. So in February of 2007 (wow — that long ago? Time flies), I stopped into Q Nails — where my sister got hers done.
Now, I’d had my nails done regularly elsewhere, way back in the days of plastic tips and silk wraps. But it had been a long time, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I didn’t know whether to get acrylics or gels or what. (Keep in mind that I had NO nails going in, so something major needed to happen.) The owner (Bob) suggested acrylics — more durable and less expensive than gel — so I said, «Hook me up.» I walked out of there feeling like I had someone else’s hands — which sounds gross, but it was a good thing.
So, yeah — almost 9 years, and Bob’s still doing my nails every two weeks. The staff is very friendly (they all know who I am when I call for an appointment), the salon is clean, and they do a great job. As long as I live in Madison, I’ll be a customer of Q Nails.

Nail techs aim to please! I went in for a basic pedi and polish. The customer who arrived just before me wanted a multi color design on each nail. When I left an hour after arriving, the gentleman was still trying to give her what he thought she desired.
This was my first time at this type of salon-​is it normal to get intricate designs on every nail for a mere $ 30? To me, Q is an «express» place and expectations should be average. Multicolored designs on every nail (all 20) belong elsewhere, IMHO.
Beyond this continuous chatter that became grating, the atmosphere was appropriate for the price point. You’re looking at women getting their mani or pedi and they are looking at you. Don’t expect serenity and peaceful bliss for $ 30. Perhaps though customers could be seated with a seat between rather than all three of the pedi people in a row.
Staff were well groomed and dressed. They were friendly and didn’t make chatter just to fill dead air. There was a cute cultural education moment where we learned home visit nail techs were a business back home for them but that we don’t have it here! Or do we?! I semi seriously said they could start one but that people like coming to the shop for the massage chairs!
Inside of Q is clean as is the outside. This strip mall is well maintained. If you can deal with tight parking spaces, you’ll find enough open just outside the door.
In conclusion, everything related to staff, store, and service was five-​star! I will be back!

Amazing experience! I am always apprehensive about pedis because of how rough nail salons can be. They were very gentle on my toes and had a great color selection. They were very friendly as well! I won’t go anywhere else from now on!

I had tried MANY other nail salons in madison, and Q Nails is by far my favorite. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable, they remembered my name after my first appointment, and I’ve been going back ever since :)

I have been going to Q Nails for several years and must say this is the BEST nail salon in Madison. I have James do my nails and he is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. Every technician in the salon is professional and knows their technique to the T. I highly recommend this salon. They are friendly, accommodating and know what is best for their clients. I have previously been to other nail salons in Madison, but by far… this is the BEST PLACE!
