So I think we’ve officially gone to this Starbucks for the last time. We’ve had so many poor experiences here, remained kind and given the staff numerous opportunity to make up for previous bad service that they have finally proven to us that they just don’t care about customers. Customers are the driving force behind any business and maybe a family of seven is not a big loss in the grand scheme of things, even though I feel we spend a lot of money on coffee from shops weekly, but we’re done. Rudeness by staff, lying to me(I.e. told me they could not tell me when they might have pumpkin spice due to «a national shortage» — AREYOUKIDDINGME?!), and not honoring coupons that they give out are the categories each experience fit into and they really should be ashamed. I love Starbucks. I know this is not the typical culture of Starbucks overall, which is why we’ve gone back so many times. As a previous employee, I laughed when I was told Dunkin Donuts was Starbucks biggest competitor in meetings(being from Central Florida and living in the Midwest — and working for the company in both regions– before relocating to New England, Starbucks is king). Now I understand. There are too many other options for this service in my area and I’m sure those businesses will enjoy our patronage; our weekly 10 coffee vendor beverages average patronage.

This place is getting worse by the day. They keep hiring new baristas and to be honest they can’t get anything right. They have major attitude of you ask them to remake the drink. I grabbed my coffee and dump it in the trash can couple of times now. So the next few times I walked in and when I didn’t see the only 2 girls who now how to make a decent drink I turned around and left. It’s a shame. I drive few extra miles out of my way now and go to Barnes and nobles Starbucks to get my coffee. Sorry Jill, you are awesome but your crew is not!

Good place to get good coffee. I am a fan of their new cold brew coffee. The staff is helpful and quick at this Starbucks which also is a plus. I like that Starbucks sources its beans carefully, as compared to many other coffee chains. I am still a local coffee shop lover, but Starbucks does a great job.

All these reviews are correct on the not so friendly staff(except a very few of the ladies) and the in and out service. Every guy employee in there don’t look up or acknowledge you. They just make a drink and move on. Having coming from San Diego my standards are high. I thought that starbucks employee are suppose to be interactive and friendly but maybe I was misinformed by all the other starbucks out there. Usually don’t have a problem with my drinks and if I do, it will be after I left and not worth going back but that isn’t much. What put me over the top was after talking with them about their community board and what was aloud to be put up, within a day of putting it up they took it down. For someone who spends at least a few hundred dollars easy at starbucks every month I had it. Just rude. I go to starbucks 6 – 7 times a week and sometimes twice in one day.(Most of my visits at this one) So I am no longer spending my money at this Starbucks. I have no problem going to another Starbucks. I called corporate too and informed them. Corporate was very understanding about it and agreed with me that my flyer on my non profit was not supposed to be removed. If anyone has a problem with a Starbucks, corporate has always been understanding. Great customer service! This starbucks needs to be re-trained. Those 2 ladies in that store are the only 2 keeping it alive.

I’d have to say that this is your average Starbucks. We were here twice and there was a lot of people here which is probably a good sign. The service was friendly but nothing over the top. The parking lot was pretty full and a little tricky to get a spot.

This s-bucks is average size but has what you’d expect, there is a good size outdoor patio area that is great when the weather cooperates. Friendly baristas that seem to be well trained, make great coffees and keep the store in top notch shape. Always a good start to any day when greeted by happy folks that are standing by to hand you your morning libation. The baristas at this location are 5 star and always happy to see customers. Whether you’re looking for bag coffee, travel cups or tea you’ll find it here; there is a wide selection of Starbucks paraphernalia on hand to suit most needs. Want a morning biscuit? Plenty of pastries in a clean well lit display to choose from. I gave this locale four stars in comparison to other S-bucks as far as indoor seating, outdoor seating and general location.

This Starbucks is in a great location, but holy guacamole I can not stand this parking lot. If you were to come to Starbucks and park by the shop it can be rather difficult to get out of the parking lot without almost getting hit. The inside of the shop has recently been redone and looks much more modern, clean, and there are even bar stool like seats by the baristas while you watch, wait or possibly chat with them. I lived in California for a while and always loved to sit in this spot and chat with the barista here and there. When I was my normal friendly self with the am barista they seemed rather surprised that I was sitting there and chatting. Depending on who is working the service and drinks are never the same. For being a coffee shop this place truly lacks atmosphere, personality and a reason to choose it over another coffee shop.

My absolute favorite Starbucks location. I stop in here everyday, and usually at a different time each day because I am a student. Everyone that works here is super awesome, and has my drink memorized– they even know to make it hot or iced depending on the weather. That’s an A++ in my book. They recently underwent a huge remodel, and while it looks awesome, part of me misses the old look. Love that they have more seating now though, makes it easier when meeting up with friends.

I have been living in the Newport/Middletown area for about a year now and I have been a regular at this Starbucks. I usually stop by to study and use the free wi-fi. I like this Starbuck for the space and the convenient location. The service isn’t spectacular but the barristas do a good job with the drinks. At times, I find myself missing my old Starbucks back in San Diego — they new my drink choices by heart and they all new my name, making me feel like a part of the community — Not gonna get that here but it is still a great place to study and have a cup of coffee.

It’s a standard Starbucks… the AM employees are usually a lot friendlier than the PM employees, but I’ve never experienced the staff to be unfriendly. They get the lines through pretty quickly in the morning, but it’s slower at night. The one reason I like this location is that it’s quieter than the Newport one. I meet friends here to catch up and can always find a seat. Plus, they have outdoor seating. Other than that, the bathroom is usually clean and they always get my order right. Nothing particularly special about this Starbucks, but nothing awful either.

As someone that grew up in Seattle I have missed the true Starbucks experience. I had a 9AM meeting in Middletown and wanted to get some work done before as well as pick up coffee for the meeting so I asked Siri and she directed me here. The place was very clean, the coffee was prompt, would have been nice if they would have called out my order when it was done and the clientele was animated. It was very enjoyable to sit in the window work and people watch.

I agree with the other reviewers. This Starbucks does not keep up with company standards. When you first walk in the store smells bad, the shelves are not properly stocked, the employees are plentiful but slow. After waiting in line and hearing other people order it’s easy to see that the employees are unfriendly and/or appear to be burnt out. Very disappointing store. Very drab coffee. My husband and I went there twice at different times to see if a change in shift would alter the experience we had. Unfortunately, although the store was full of customers, the service was just as bland, the store still had a horrible smell, and the feeling was not there.

There isn’t a whole lot of good things to mention about this Starbucks location. I don’t feel like the baristas as a whole there are very nice. They just take your order and make it as quickly as possible(sometimes well and sometimes not so well). I’ve never once had anyone ask me how my day was going or even go so far as suggesting their favorite drinks or small talk. As a former barista myself(at Starbucks and other places) and fan of coffeehouses in general, I really do treasure the little conversations and recommendations that I’d get from a barista. Instead, this Starbucks feels more like an impersonal experience without even a smile. Starbucks is Starbucks in the end: recipes don’t change and for the most part you’ll get what you pay for but if I was given a choice, I wouldn’t come to this location. I basically only come here because it’s convenient.
