Love this place! Their Mac and cheese is to DIEFOR, and you can’t beat their $ 5 burger deal on Mondays(among others! But we have only been there on Mondays). Their service can sometimes be just«eh,» but the food, prices and specials make up for it! Great place to watch the game – super accommodating.

Ducked in some family for a post Thanksgiving dance off to help burn some Turkey and fixin’s calories off and it was a fine time, here’s why: * Melissa and Michelle are VIPs up in there so we were treated appropriately * Alyssa(spelling?) was our server and did a fine job! * Friendly and helpful management * Green Tea shots, SCORE! * Cozy ‘lil dance floor where I cut that rug! * Nice mix of music for all tastes and ages! There were like 10 of us and I don’t think the bill, with tip, was over $ 250. Nice! Dancing and having fun with family is where its at during the Holidays! Cabeza OUT!

Been here a few times. Wings were better this time around. Beers are always cold and they refresh the pint glass each time which is a must for me. Going through what looks to be a pretty good sized remodel… But if your going to remodel walls you need to keep the cushions and tables in good shape. We took a booth in the corner but the cushion was an absolute mess. Crayons for my 5 year old and our waitress was very attentive. Like it is said below the bar seems to be the focus but not today. I want this place to work. Not much in the area if your looking for a pub feel with TV’s. We vacation down here at my Dad’s place. If you are tight on cash but want to go out they run a nightly option for around $ 5.00. You can get a good amount of food as well as beer for a fair price.

We like to stop in for a snack or drink before heading the movies. The drinks are good, friendly service, and the food we’ve tried has been pretty good too. I’m going to try the Chef Mike’s burger challenge over the summer. You get 20 minutes to eat a 1lb burger that’s overstuffed with toppings and a side of cheese fries. I knocked the review down a few notches due to cleanliness. The restrooms are showing wear & tear and need to be cleaned more often. I hope that’s not a reflection of the kitchen. Other than that, it’s a good place to stop if you’re in middletown.

Good drinks. Horrible service. Very weird place on a Friday. They ignore people sitting at the tables. Bartenders are good.

It’s an okay place, but not great. I found it entertaining how they serve you on dishes that look a lot more high-end than their food tastes. It says family restaurant, but the bar aspect is the more dominant atmosphere. I would prefer to take my kids elsewhere. I ordered a steak specifically because the description said«incredibly tender,» but was not impressed. The quality tasted similar to Denny’s strip steak served with their steak & eggs breakfast.

When it first opened had a decent clientele but it has since been replaced with something I can’t describe. It’s not a place you go to for an uplifting drinking atmosphere.

Like a previous poster it’s a strong 3.5 so I rounded up. If reviewing it just as a sports bar I’d consider giving it a 5. Most of the time the food is very good, every now and then the cook can mess it up, such as over cooking and drying out. Prices are average to slightly above. I’ve been multiple times and would certainly go again. Decent beer specials and it’s always cold

Went Monday for ½ price burger. Got mushroom swiss on pretzel roll with red potatoes instead of fries. Burger was average. Roll was hard ad dry. Red potatoes were dry over seasoned and not that great. Overall nice sports bar but I would not return for a burger. Might try a different menu item or come have a beer.

I’m very sorry that the original reviewer had such a bad experience, however even the best places mess up from time to time! Not saying that Tom Foolery’s is the best place, but I’ve been several times in the past and have always enjoyed my time there. The bar is a good 3.5 stars, so mathematically I had to round up to 4. I used to go every once in a while for free poker, and they always had good food and drink specials. I only went once as a regular patron in the dining room and a very good, very pleasant time. My dad and I went midday, so I think we were basically the only people there. Our server was very prompt but also very personable. She had this crazy psychic ability to sense that I was an alcoholic craving a midday drink, and recommended their new sweet tea vodka mixed drinks and even let me try a mini drink before I bought one! I am positive she would not have randomly recommended alcohol to someone during the day, so obviously she must have been psychic. or perhaps I looked hungover. As for food, we each ordered some type of seafood sandwich. Mine was the crab melt, basically a crab cake with sliced tomatoes and cheese that was served open faced and baked in an oven. It was really good, not the best thing ever, but I enjoyed it. This is not five star dining in NYC or LA kiddos, it’s a restaurant & bar in the middle of Middletown freaking Delaware. It is what it is, and it’s pretty good for what it is. It should be noted I haven’t been here in over a year, but I would definitely go back if I was in the area!

This place was a complete waste of time and money. I’m not sure what I expected from this place, but it sure wasn’t what I got. When my wife and I went to Tom Foolery’s it was in between lunch and dinner and the place was pretty dead, yet service was slow and servers seemed detatched and disinterested. When the food arrived my wife’s dish was cold and my dish was tasteless. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish(some chicken and rice plate with(?) mango(?) salsa), but my wife ordered artichoke spinach dip, one of her favorites, and I happen to know from working in a restaurant that it’s usually pre-made and all you do is throw it in a bowl and nuke it. That said, it shouldn’t ever be cold. Ever. My parents told me they stop here for a drink every now and again when they’re in Middletown and they seem to enjoy it, but I certainly didn’t, and I don’t care to waste any more of my money at this place. Just a terrible experience and atmosphere. Never again.
