A unique burger joint that delivers on flavor and consistency. Options are centered on the burgers(including vegetarian, turkey, and chicken burgers), but chicken strips and loaded french fries(with pulled pork) are also available. Full service bar with plenty of TVs and patio seating are available. If you have room, be sure to try the milkshakes(with or without booze). Grub burger is one of the best places to grab a burger and beer in town.

This place is always busy! I had a guacamole burger that was delicious — I love their fries! They have a nice aesthetically-pleasing setup with a bar in the center but it is classy. Love Grub!

My all time favorite burger joint. When this location first opened in pretty sure I got sick from their food so it took me a while to try this place again. But I went back and fell in love. My family is now a regular there. The Thai Peanut Burger is my absolute favorite. The service is pretty good, the atmosphere is great, food is great. I don’t know what else you want from a restaurant

Best burgers in Midland hands down. Have tried the salads and the burgers. Nothing is ever bad. It can get crowded, so pick a good time to go. Glad this is in town.

I enjoy their food quite well and I appreciate the atmosphere. The bar is nice but a little small for how crowded it can get. The bartenders aren’t the best and tend to have attitudes, however, I do like one named Edward, if he’s still around. I do enjoy coming here for a casual dinner every so often and a few drinks. I actually recommend the chicken strips over any of the burgers although I have tried them and they are tasty. The cheese fries are not disappointing either.

Tried the Ghost burger! With the inferno sauce! Man was it spicy or what. I love hot and spicy food… When I say spicy, I mean insanely spicy. And this inferno sauce was just that!!! When they call it the ice cream chaser — they do realllly mean it! Loved the flavor. Specially the grilled jalapeños on it make a huge difference! The meat was juicy — heard they grind their chuck right there in house. The sweet potato fries were delish. Was perfect paired with the hot burger! They have a variety of hand spun shakes. And the best part — they have spiked shakes too! Though I didn’t try them spiked, I am pretty sure to try one soon. The menu got me pretty intrigued. Like the Bourbon and caramel Did try a Salted Caramel shake. It sure was salty — but Something made it still tasty. Mm. Their cocktail menu was nothing less either. Have my eye on the Jalapeño Lemonade.

Food is mediocre with a huge range between who is cooking, the bar staff is completely incompetent(you can sit for 10 minutes without being greeted while they play on their phones or talk to their friends, can’t get simple orders correct, and with few exceptions are unfriendly), this place needs some decent management.

After reading previous reviews I made sure to order my burger well done. Now keep in mind when you order well done, your burger will shrink. The burgers weren’t bad, but needed more seasoning. Also, the mushrooms seems canned & not fresh.(Almost like their purchased in 5 gallon jugs) For a gourmet burger bar w/the bill we paid I expected a little more flavor & fresh ingredients. The onion rings they place on the burger aren’t fresh. Very hard, and pre prepped. Sweet potato fries were so yummy, & the onion rings ordered separately were fresh. The jack & Coke well let’s say for a busy Friday night, no reason coco-cola should be flat.(No carbonation what so ever) for a beer, jack & Coke, two burgers, sweet potato fries & onion rings, we paid about $ 40+. I may give this place another shot, but my burgers I cook at home are pretty darn phenomenal.

Super cute venue! Burgers are great as are the French fries. Menu offers PLENTY of variety and it’s hard to decide on just one thing! However, this place was a MESS! An absolute trainwreck after lunch on a Saturday. We arrived about 2:30−3 and it looked like a tornado had blown through here and nobody was doing anything to recover from it. Staff seemed short fused and uninterested. There were a couple notably intoxicated patrons at the bar continuing to be served, but that’s not my problem, right?

Ok. 14 months &30,000(?) calories later, this is still my favorite eating establishment anywhere this side of the Mississippi. I can easily talk myself into the 45 minute one-way drive to Grub in order to experience true burger nirvana. I have to get my «fix» here at least every 2 – 3 weeks, or I’ll be a crabby patty. So many great burgers, with some pretty tasty & imaginative Market(monthly special) burgers. I flip-flop often as to which is my favorite, they are all so damn good. Currently it’s their Blue Cheese Burger with caramelized onions(«You’re My Boy Blue»), but I’ve taken it to another level by adding bacon to it — see pic below. As awesome as their burgers are, their sweet potato fries and shakes(«ET» & «Kitchen Sink» especially) are on par with the burgers. TIPS: –Make sure your fries are fresh out of the fryer. –Lettuce/tomato/onion are complimentary, but you have to ask for them. –Make sure you ask for a free side of their Chipotle Ketchup. Can’t go wrong here. Service is usually excellent, and we’ve never waited more than 10 mins for our food. Keep it up Grub!!!

Enjoyed the ghost burger and sweet potato waffle fries… wow! Great flavor. A bit pricey, but I think its a great treat: on a date, special occations, or if you have a nice salary. Industrial chic interior, great music, and a bar if you want to sit and have drink with your meal. I would definitely come back again.

Every time I’m in Midland on business I make sure to stop at least once at the Grub. The burgers are very good, fresh, and there are lots of great options that go way beyond just a burger and fries. They have a nice tap craft beer selection and the vibe is trendy but laid back.

I visited Grub Burger for the first time today with my husband. The burgers are big and high quality. Although our fried food(giant onion rings) was a bit too well done for us, the rest was just as promised. I appreciate that it has a full bar and you can order ‘spiked’ milkshakes. We will definitely be back in the future.

A slick and fun eatery in Midland. I like to make a stop here whenever I’m in town. When you walk into Grub you are greeted by a large bar area, but the ordering area is down a bit. Counter service is fine by me, and you can eye the bar patron’s libations enviously as you wait your turn to order. Options are plentiful at Grub. The greek burger is a ground chicken patty with olives and feta. Try the Texas luau for some sweet and spicy goodness. Certainly the ingredients are fun and adventurous(particularly by Midland standards). I think everything could be bumped up a bit in the salt/seasoning category, but that’s easily fixed at the table. Sides are decent. My most recent visit garnered mixed results with the sweet potato fries: some were perfect, some were nearly raw. My dining partner’s side salad looked good. I haven’t had the gumption to order or run the prerequisite 3 miles to offset the calories of one of the milkshakes, but they look and sound amazing. Beers on tap are solid and feature some local-ish brews! Once you order, everything is brought to your table post-haste. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and there was plenty of seating. Given the counter service, the broad menu and the seat-yourself arrangement, it seems like this would be a grand place for families.

My standards for Grub Burger are high because I’ve eaten at the Lafayette, LA branch a few times. I would say the Midland Grub is not on par. The service is excellent, but the food was just okay for the price. I paid $ 20 for a burger and a shake. I love the atmosphere of Grub Burger, where you order first and sit. You don’t have to wait for long, and there is plentiful seating. I ordered a Luau burger which has jalapenos, pineapple and pulled pork. The jalapenos were long strips that were difficult to eat, the pineapples were chopped up into small pieces so I didn’t taste it much(womp), and the pulled pork was a bit bland. Make sure you ask for extra sauce because there wasn’t enough. In addition, I got the salted caramel milkshake which was tasty. My friend’s daughter got the mint chocolate chip milkshake which was better! The portion is humongous– I always can’t finish my full burger and the same went for my friend. We also got an order of chicken tenders, which had great flaky crispy texture, but the flavoring was just not there. The BBQ sauce that came with it also lacked a certain sweetness and was very smokey. All in all, I was excited to come here because I was thinking of my past Grub Burger experience, but it let me down a bit.

Ok I went back to try the beef burgers. I got the lockhart, but man the onion rings on that burger was so damn hard! Not sure why they were so hard, being fried too long? Oil needed be changed out? Also, got sweet potatoe fries that weren’t too burnt and they were now waffle cut fries from last time I went. My burger was good, if I go back I want to try their ghost burger. Their milk shakes look delicious. The extra star is for their fast service today.

Grub Burger Bar is a welcome addition to the Permian Basin restaurant scene. The food and drinks are outstanding. The restaurant has the atmosphere of a nice sports bar. The interior is spacious and clean, and there are several TV screens scattered around the room. My girlfriend and I ordered the Lockhart Legend(bacon, cheddar cheese, Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce, onion rings) and the You’re My Boy Blue Burger(bleu cheese, caramelized onions, arugula, tomato) along with two orders of fries, a Big Bend Terlingua Golden Ale, and the Tipsy Worms and Dirt cocktail. The burgers were cooked to a perfect medium. They were juicy and well seasoned. The bun was a fresh baked roll, and all of the toppings on the burger were very flavorful. I thought both burgers were great, but the Lockhart Legend was my favorite because of the sweet and tangy Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce which perfectly complemented the savoriness of the bacon. I’m not generally a fan of skinny fries because they seem to be all batter and very little potato. However, I really enjoyed the skinny fries at Grub Burger. They were crispy and well seasoned. I really like that they have local beers on tap. It’s cool to see craft beers coming to West Texas. I enjoyed the golden ale and I hope to try more beers from Big Bend Brewery. The Tipsy Worms and Dirt drink was awesome too. You couldn’t taste any of the alcohol but it was definitely there. The only downside to Grub Burger is the price. Our meals came out to $ 36. $ 18 per person is a bit steep for a burger, fries, and a beer, especially at a counter service restaurant. Both of us really enjoyed our lunch at Grub Burger, and I would highly recommend it for lunch or dinner.
