Pleasantly surprised with this place. Decent service and food, even when it was during a busy brunch hour. Very small dining room, in a strip mall type thing, but interestingly decorated. Not out of this world, but definitely seemed like a sold place. Worth a try I’d say!

We love eating at this local restaurant. It offers a little bit of everything for anyone in the family. My husband and I enjoy the small restaurant atmosphere and a menu that isn’t overwhelming. We have had bunch several times and I loved the French toast and the eggs Benedict. The quiche special is also always good and my husband loved his seafood omelet. For dinner the steak sandwich is a must have with the homemade chips. With so many chains in the area we love coming and supporting this local gem. It has the feeling of being downtown without the headaches of parking. Come here if you want a great meal without breaking the budget. The staff is friendly and attentive and if you get there early snag a table by the door and you can watch the game while you eat!

Worst crab cake I have ever had. Falling apart, undercooked, under seasoned. The grits were watery and bland. Kids grilled cheese wasn’t even grilled, was just a cheese sandwich. I have never told a waitress to take the food and throw it away. I felt bad for her. The absolute worst meal I have had in years. I hope they can change because I always try and support local restaurants.

Enjoy the grill, food is always yummy. Service could use some help, went there on veterans day and they only had maybe 3 people doing the whole thing. It is pricey but it’s a pretty good portion of food. We will be back!

We ate here on a Saturday night before attending a performance at a high school nearby, and we only had about an hour to eat. We got to the restaurant around 5:30 and were seated right away. I had picked the restaurant based solely on the menu online — Southern food and it all sounded good — and we weren’t disappointed. I had the crab cakes with buttered walnut green beans and cheese grits. The grits were a little too chunky for my liking, but the green beans were out of this world(and anyone who knows me knows I’m really picky about how green beans are cooked). The crab cakes were great — crab meat, egg, mayo, and a little binder, no filler stuff! — and topped with diced tomatoes. Yummy! My sister-in-law had the gourmet grilled cheese with bacon and a side of homemade potato chips. When I asked her afterwards how it was, she said, «I cleaned my plate!» The wait staff was friendly and checked on us just the right amount of times. Our meal came out fast, and we were able to be in and out of the restaurant in under an hour. I saw the dessert menu as we were leaving and was sad we didn’t have time to try something. Both of us would definitely go back, so maybe next time!

Let me start by saying«Special» means«Rip-off» in this restaurant. I stopped by this place for the 1st time for lunch today mainly because of the positive ratings it got on Unilocal.Outside of the restaurant in the sidewalk, there was a blackboard showing today’s lunch special. I saw the«Bacon Jalapeño Cheddar Bistro Burger». It was what I ordered but it was not in the menu. Before I placed the order, I inquired about the price with my young server because it wasn’t written on the board. He said it would be the price of the 8oz burger in the menu. OK, order in and later the food arrived. Immediately I noticed the patty was very small so I asked my server what size of patty it was. He looked at it and said it was 4oz. He told me because it was the«bistro» burger that is why it was priced as 8oz but only came with 4oz patty. I then examined my burger really CLOSELY. Except for couple slices of jalapeño(and the petite patty of course), it was no difference than a regular BLT. I asked the young man again about what was«special» about this burger. He said it was the«specially daily topping». I was speechless and I am now kind of kicking myself for not taking a picture of the burger at the time. So just because they gave whatever BS names such as «special» «bistro» to their dish, they had no shame asking a customer to pay 4oz meat with 8oz price. Though very unhappy, I did not want to throw a fit because my server was polite(and shy) for the whole time. However, I definitely will not give them my business again.

The food and service are both good. It’s got a diner feel and many home made items(dessert, salad dressing). They have a nice variety of daily specials. Their breakfast menu has the«usual suspects» and they are all hot and tasty. My only complaint is that the restaurant is old and in need of an update. Some of the booths have tons of tape covering cracks and splits in the seats. I think the menu has been updated so if you haven’t been in a while it’s worth trying again.

I am rarely this happy when I leave a restaurant– and I never venture to try anything new! What a wonderful surprise. Great staff!!! Fried catfish sandwich just melted in my mouth and the crab cakes my husband had were so fresh… We will definitely be returning!

We just happened upon this place while looking for a place to eat near a sports field complex where our granddaughter was in a lacrosse tournament. Shawn seated us as we arrived at 6:00 on a Friday evening. We ordered drinks and our food. I had a grilled Reuben, prepared traditionally. It was delicious. My wife had a grilled veggie melt and it was also good. We went back for a light meal the next evening at 8:00. The place was packed and loud! About 20 lacrosse girls and their parents were in the back. Service was good, our server was Shannon. Food came out a bit slower because of the crowd but was good. The creamy chocolate drizzled dessert was delicious. It was a pleasant respite after sitting in the hot sun all afternoon.

Good food! Seemed a little understaffed. They might not have been aware of a big soccer tournament going on. Would recommend!

The wait time wasn’t too bad, but the wait space is horrible. We arrived at a busy time so it felt a little tight as we waited to be seated. Once we were seated the waiter came to take our drinks. It took him a while to return for our food order. Once we did, it was uphill from there. I ordered the seafood omelet and the bf ordered a sausage omelet and french toast. My order was very tasted like I was drinking from the sea with a bit of seasoning. It wasn’t too bad. I probably could’ve passed not the crabmeat and just had a shrimp omelet, but that’s me. Others might’ve enjoyed it a little more. The french toast was yummy and so was the sausage omelet. I took bites off the bf’s plate… greedy me. :) Overall, this was a decent dining experience. Another place to brunch when I want to stay South of the James for the day.

Very good food, homey, waitstaff was excellently attentive. The portiom was huge, a bit on the salty side, but I could see lots of regulars. I would defonitely suggest you try for brunch!

Awesome little place I visited for brunch on a Saturday morning! The server was cracking me up, and apparently he’s worked there for ages. There were also several elderly couples getting a bit rowdy, which is always fine entertainment if you ask me. I got a special they had that day– piña colada french toast. I also ordered a side of eggs and cheesy grits. Apparently my eyes were bigger than my stomach because I couldn’t eat it all, but I finished every bite of that french toast! The cheesy grits were definitely below average, and the eggs were standard over-easy eggs. Large mimosas for $ 5, all day, every day! What more could you ask for?! I’d say the service was my favorite part of the dining experience, but hey, good service can be hard to come by these days. I’ll be back!

Sean took care of me. Had two ICECOLDGLASSED Shock Tops which hit the spot after 2.5 hrs of soccer. Ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad which tasted fantastic. The salad came with light dressing per my request, good croutons, fantastically cooked chicken, and a little too much on the Parmesan cheese. I will be back after playing soccer.

Went in for a late dinner with my girlfriend. Being that it was late, there weren’t too many people in the restaurant. On special they had a sweet pepper chicken primavera that was decent, nothing special. I was starving though, so I ate the entire bowl. I might add, the portions are kind of small for what you’re paying. 14 or 15 $ and the dish came out in a bowl. Between a drink for myself, and a drink for the girlfriend and 2 entrees it was something like 45 $. Also… the vegetable medley was awkward. Strips of squash, zucchini, and chunked tomatoes. It smelt like the dish was holding a fish prior to being served — it was really odd. The bartender Colin was exceptional, though.
