Great food and great people! The friendliest management and servers that can be found in Cincinnati! Every time I stop in for a bite to eat I find myself leaving with a big grin and satisfied stomach! Save room for dessert! Some of the most creative and tasty cheesecakes I have ever had! What impresses me most is how warm and welcomed I feel from the management and the servers! Every time I’m in I ask to talk to the owners so that I can sing the praises of their restaurant and employees in person but I seem to always miss them. I hope this reaches them so they know what a wonderful establishment they have. I have rarely found a restaurant as well managed as MJ’s. More importantly I hope this reaches anyone in the area who wants to enjoy a delicious meal with a staff that makes you feel very special and welcomed!

I have been to MJs multiple times and every time has been a good experience. Tonight was a disaster. The food was excellent as always but our waitress was completely incompetent. We had a group of seven which I understand can be a challenge but we had to remind her about our drink orders more than once and when it came to splitting our bills, it all went down hill. Three times she had to come back and ask us who got what. I had a $ 10 certificate to use from my phone and at first try she said it was invalid. I showed her that I had just bought it earlier in the day and validated it for her. She went back downstairs to her manager and when she came back up to the table, she had not only validated the correct certificate but had also validated a $ 25 certificate for a restaurant in Kentucky. To make it worse, she had already charged my credit card for the amount before the discount. She offered to void it and recharge the card for the correct amount but since she had already gotten so many things wrong, we let it go. I was with a big group of friends and didn’t want to make a scene but I am sorely upset. I lost $ 35 in gift certificates and didn’t get anything for it.

Nice menu, really different choices. Bison can be very dry but the Bison Burger at MJ’s was very moist.

MJ’s on Main is a trainwreck. From the street, the restaurant looks relatively inviting, with a nice patio and a presentable sign. As soon as you walk in, though, things take a turn for the worse. Red flag number one: a sign that says«Sit wherever you like». This says to me that you’re dying for tables. There wasn’t even a server waiting to greet customers as they walk through the door. So my date and I sat down at a table on high barstools, and there was red flag number two: the table wasn’t nearly as structurally sound as it should have been. Our waters spilled over, not because of a hand that went the wrong way, but because the table moved freely. Red flag number three: the inside is ugly as sin. The walls are an off-putting shade of orange, and the chairs are all in rough shape. I saw on MJ’s sign that they had live music, which is astonishing to me. The place really isn’t set up to be a music venue. The restaurant tries to say music by having posters of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and Miles Davis on the walls, but they seem out of place. Our server(whose name I never learned) was pretty unprofessional. He talked like he didn’t care about his job, very passively and just impersonally. My date and I both ordered the pulled pork, and as soon as we said this, his eyes lit up, and he told us how good it was. They use a «homemade Maker’s Mark barbecue sauce», apparently, and they also smoke their pork for«11, 12, sometimes 13 hours.» He made it sound much more appetizing than it was. So my date and I sat and waited for our meal, and we saw food come out of the kitchen and go to other tables. I was excited, because the plates look excellent. Everything looks great. And that’s all there is to it. While everything looks great, the taste is sub-mediocre. The pork was dry and flavorless, the coleslaw that was with it was flavorless, and the fries, while better than everything else, were still plain and unremarkable. Our server came to see how we were doing, and I asked him how the pork was prepared. Red flag number four: he said«Umm, I’m pretty sure…» And I was disappointed. A good server knows how the food is prepared and how it’s supposed to taste. There should be no «pretty sure» about it. He should know. He described the cooking process, sort of, and he said the pork was slathered in that Maker’s barbecue. Just for the record, «slathered» is the wrong word. I asked for a side of the barbecue sauce, and he brought it out rather grumpily. I tried the sauce, and it tasted like someone put a little brown sugar in some ketchup and called it bourbon barbecue. I was extremely disappointed. And then there’s the low point of the evening. Our server came back again, and decided to tell my date how beautiful her hair was, and he proceeded to inspect with his hands. It was creepy and uncomfortable for both of us. After that, he decided to talk about his girlfriend and how he graduated marketing school and how he bought a foreclosed house and a bunch of things a server shouldn’t tell his customers, especially those he doesn’t know. MJ’s on Main is a disappointment at best, and a trainwreck at worst. While the plates and the exterior look nice, the inside and the food have serious problems. Even if the food was good, though, I still wouldn’t go back, simply because it bothers me that a restaurant would allow its servers to behave like they do. 1.5 stars.

MJ’s is a small local restaurant that has an extensive menu offering several appetizers, sandwiches, and entrees. Everything I’ve ordered has come out steaming hot and freshly prepared. The chef will even customize your dish somewhat; I add salmon to the Lemon Pasta, leave out the red pepper, and no problem! The salmon BLT is another great option; quite a large portion for the price. I think it is possible to eat healthy here — my husband ordered the trout with tomatoes, capers, rice and vegetables, and the butter sauce was not overwhelming. Almost as good as my Lemon Pasta: excellent blend of flavors and again, quite reasonably priced. Service is attentive and there are outside tables downstairs and upstairs. Milford is fortunate to have a home cooked local food-type establishment in their community!

MJ’s on Main was not exactly what I was expecting. They don’t really have any«healthy» items, and they don’t have options for vegans what-so-ever(besides a few sides). I think I was just disappointed because I had called a few weeks ago to see if they did have food I could eat and they said they did! Nope. BUT, my friends did enjoy what food they got, so that’s a plus. The seating was nice and the ambiance is more upscale; good for a date or night out with friends! Service wasn’t too par, but wasn’t terrible either. I’m glad I came but do not plan on revisiting!

Stopped here with my mother before a concert at Riverbend. Prices were very reasonable. Food was quick and tasty and our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Drink menu looked super fun. Looking forward to coming back with someone else driving so I can enjoy some beverages

Three of us stopped for supper. Excellent! The Phatt Melt & Grilled Cuban were outstanding. Our friend from FL said best Cuban ever had. Our small dog allowed on patio. Even brought a water bowl.

I live close by and come here a lot. Service is friendly, quick and food has always been good. Some nights they have live easy listening music. Great for a seat at the bar or a date night. The Bison Burgers, Ahi Tuna rolls and Toasted Ravioli are my favorite.

I’ve been here a couple times, the food is pretty good and the staff are pretty nice. The reason for the 3 stars is that I don’t really like the layout or the vibe of the restaurant. They also ID’d me 4 times while I was there, I felt extremely annoyed.

My husband and I popped in here one night during Cincy Beer Week. The food was really great! Try the dates that are stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon. They are simply amazing!!!

Good place for drinks and appetizers. They have live music downstairs on the weekends and it gets too loud to talk if you’re in the bar area. I suggest sitting upstairs. They have good service and decent parking.

Had appetizers and drinks last Sat. 4 of us shared the fried ravioli, Cajun egg rolls, stuffed mushrooms and fried pickles. Plenty to share. My husband had the club-it was huge. Live bands on Sat. evening-we will come back.

We’ve tried this place twice. The menu looks impressive with so many choices of food. The taste was not so impressive. I went in with intentions of getting Caribbean jerk shrimp tacos, but the special was a smoked ham flatbread sandwich with sundried tomato, artichoke hearts, gouda and dijon with a side of white chicken chili. This sandwich is cold and the bread was terribly hard. Flatbreads are loaded with cheese, which leads to a mouthful of oil. Creole cajun bleu flatbread was a mouthful of salt and oil. Alouette & artichoke dip is wonderful. It takes 20 minutes to cook, but its worth the wait. The white bean chicken chili is also great. Phat Tuesday jambalaya is really tasty and includes a bunch of good meats. The drunken pig carnita tacos were tasteless, good thing it came with chipotle sauce to give it some sort of flavor. The mixed drinks are weak. I couldn’t taste a bit of alcohol. The servers rotate so we never dealt with the same person. The menu really is written to drum up your expectations, but the food is a let down.

Great food, attentive and friendly servers and bartenders!!! Nice rotation of beers on tap and a huge selection of bottled beer. Great place to stop with friends or family! One of the few places my son repeatedly asks to stop for dinner.

I came here with my parents and boyfriend while I was at home for Thanksgiving. The place was decorated for Christmas and there were a fair number of people inside. They have two levels of seating options — I’d go for the upstairs if you’re wanting a sit down restaurant feel and downstairs if you’re looking for more of the bar scene. We ordered three appetizers — the samosas, artichoke dip, and hummus. All of them were pretty good, but the samosas were my favorite. They had a Sweetwater tap takeover that night, so we enjoyed a flight of their different Sweetwater brews. For dinner, the boyfriend and I split the brisket tacos, and while they were good, they weren’t great. They could definitely step up the flavor a bit, and I found myself adding more and more salsa to try and make it a little more interesting. Downtown Milford is definitely growing with new places to eat at, and this one deserves a visit if you’re out and about.

We hadn’t been here in awhile due to family circumstances, but when the 3 of us ate here last night we were pleasantly surprised to find many new menu items that were great additions. This is a locally owned restaurant, not a chain. The chef uses locally sourced ingredients when possible, such as the locally made pasta in the Wild Mushroom Mezzaluna that I ordered. It was very tasty and I ate it all even though it meant I then had no room for dessert. My husband had the Caribbean Jerk Shrimp Tacos which were very good. They came with homemade salsa that was excellent and plenty for the chips that came with it, in fact he had to ask for more chips to finish up the salsa. He also enjoyed a couple of the local beers offered. Our adult daughter ordered the Blackened Tilapia Tacos, which she really enjoyed and she would order again. She and her Dad are excellent cooks who appreciate good food. Our server was very good and she earned a 20% tip. She was friendly too.

I cannot believe all the good reviews! I didn’t have my phone on me(and therefore, Unilocal) when we stopped here so thankfully I wasn’t expecting much to start with. I’m not sure but I suspect this place must be a chain. The graphic and the menu seem that way to start, and then the food confirms it. I got the shrimp tacos which came out doused in a mayo sauce with little else but some limp shredded iceberg lettuce on top. The mango sauce that came in a little cup was cloyingly sweet. When you get good fish/seafood tacos they’re so good and crunchy/refreshing, but these were just drenched in sauce and not fresh tasting at all. The chips and salsa that came with it was a joke. I think we counted 9 chips and a Ketchup-cup-sized amount of salsa. Good for about 2 chips. My boyfriend got the steak gyro. He’s normally extremely agreeable but even he had a disappointed face and then said the steak tasted like the frozen kind he gets at Kroger sometimes and the pita didn’t taste good. Still came to a 35 dollar tab. No thanks.
