Very very expensive. Especially given the fact that the place looks a little tacky and cheap. Didn’t like that fries or a salad, or anything for that matter did not come with a burger. Not even a few chips, prompting you into buying a side. Where the burger with a side should have been ~$ 13 max, now a burger with a side is over $ 20. Will not go there again.

Enjoyed their jazz night last night! My first time there. Loved their pulehu steak, mushroom, Brie, cranberry on flatbread! Mililani melon was yummy but strong for a lightweight like me. Sat outside on their comfy lanai. I’d suggest heat lamps for those who are not used to Mililani mauka’s cool nights. TV’s were nice! Clear and big! Only one bathroom for each sex so line up before you’re desperate. Good service, good music, good food, good, well behaved crowd, definitely more of my kind of crowd vs the Shack… I must go back!

What type of bar is open til 2:00am. And closes the kitchen at 955. Very disappointing.

For being the first time here, it was a great experience until we switched waitresses. Now service is crap. Got more empty bottles and glasses while our new waitress(Asian with glasses, don’t know her name cuz never introduced herself when taking over) talks only to one customer.

Hands down my favorite spot for steak and burgers. I love the staff and the beer selection rotates.

The food was okay. I had the garlic wings which didn’t have enough garlic or park for me, but was still pretty tasty. The worst part was the wait. We waited a good 45 minutes for our food and each of our items came out 10 minutes apart. Summary: ok food, not worth the wait.

Our server Chad was the best. Keeping our drinks full and making sure we were enjoying ourselves. The avocado bombs are a must try. If you don’t like sweet skip the mile high french toast… Although i enjoy sweet. If you go for brunch or just like mimosas they were the right amount of champagne/Oj combo. We sat outside which was perfect for Sunday brunch. Over ambiance was good. Will definitely be back to try more items off there menu.

All the way out in Mililani… Really good food from what i tried so far. Avocado bomb was tasty nice and crunchy«skin» needed just a little more lettuce for added crunch. Meat Loaf Loco Moco with garlic fried rice was really good, they crisp up the loaf(nice moist soft texture with crunchy crust) and the fried rice is very garlicky, mmmm garlic. The mushroom wuth brie flat bread was very nice, earthy mushrooms and nice creamy brie, with the cranberries just to send it over the top! Last of the foods but also very dwlicious was the simple, crunchy, thick cut, super garlic, and parmesan sprinkled, french fries… Mmmm. Then there is the like million beers on tap! I had Fat Tire, and am gonna über up there one time to taste the rest! The servers were great and very friendly, nice clean and cool(temp… It was a hot day) place.

Great concept and ideas, but fails at executing. Long wait for drinks even on a slow Monday night, server/owner mixed up drinks, huge quail egg size olives in martinis that taste like salty water, and over priced food that is nothing special. Despite all that… it truly is the only bar in Mililani for those older than 30 years old and not military like The Shack. I always have a great time at Taps and Apps-more so because of the company-but if another bar came along, Taps and Apps would definitely have to step up its A game.

Since my original review, we visited several times at night, and once for their new-ish brunch menu on a Sunday. I got the crab cake Benedict during brunch and it was good. It’s the same yummy crab cakes they serve during the day/night, on an English muffin and topped with hollandaise sauce. I wished it came with a serving of salad or something light on the side, but it was filling nonetheless. Service was very slow on a Sunday morning, as only one waiter was working the floor. Even with only a few tables full, he was forgetting small things like utensils, napkins, water… I saw they had a make your own Bloody Mary bar on the menu so I got excited! But when I asked what items I could add, he just said whatever you want! Okay, can you tell me what the items are? He said, «just tell me what you want and I’ll put them inside of the drink.» Lol alrighty then. Anyways, I ended up asking to make it spicy with bacon. But when we got the Bloody Mary, it tasted like dirty dish water and the bacon was practically raw. Pretty gross. He was kind enough to take it back and offer us something else to drink. I think we’ll stick to going during the evenings after work. Service can still be a little slow, depending on your server, but it’s still a cool place to chill so close to home.

Taps & Apps has such potential to be an amazing place. To caveat the 3 stars I’d give a 3.5 if I could, however it is nearer a 3 in my mind than a 4. It is the best place to grab a good beer and some food in the area; however, changing a few things could make it one of the best places to do so on the island. The food quality and portions are too low for how much they cost. The pizzas/flat breads used to be on the high side of reasonable but a few months past their price was increased. The value for what you get is low even when considering island prices. The beer costs are on the high side of reasonable though the taster glasses are pricey and not worth it. There are a few interesting choices but most of them can be found at Foodland. If there were a few more interesting selections it could do a lot for the place. There are a decent number of weekly events and daily specials that give more character to the place. The décor and location are very good with outdoor and indoor seating. They also fill growlers if you find something you really like and want to take home. To reiterate, this is the best place in the area but with a few changes it could be one of the best places for a beer on the island.

This is a solid place for dinner and drinks in Mililani. They have a decent beer selection with several local brews, and occasional tap takeovers. Food is good, if a little over priced. You can’t go wrong ordering a flatbread. There’s not much entrée choice for vegetarians, unfortunately, and almost anything you can get will be deep fried. Garlic fries are a newer addition to the menu, and pretty tasty. Specials can be hit or miss, and the Taco Tuesday specials are wicked overpriced. Service is always friendly, if not always super prompt. We’ve had to remind servers for water when it’s busy, but we have never been forgotten entirely. The staff are really good when the restaurant isn’t packed. Lest it seem I’m focusing only on the negative, I really do like this place. They still have some kinks to work out, but it’s a good choice for lunch or dinner when you’re in Mililani.

Every now and then we want to grab some great beer and fancy pub grinds without driving into town, so we head in the opposite direction and go to Taps & Apps in Mililani. Located in Mililani Mauka, we’ve been at Taps & Apps several times over the past five months, we always grab a seat at the bar as it lets us chat with the bartender and the service is always great. Latest experience was pretty consistent with our past visits. mind you that we normally are with the before 6 pm crowd so it’s usually not packed when we arrive. Food: Ordered a Fat Tire draft and a dark beer flight for the wife, the T&A Pub Salad, Crab Cakes, and Garlic Cheese Bread. Love that you can get Fat Tire locally now, been one of my favs when visiting the mainland! The Pub Salad arrives, strange that menu said served a pickled egg and bacon.hmmm.no pickled egg and no bacon. Had to flag down the bartender, she quickly corrected the situation by going to the kitchen and having them serve us two slices of bacon and a hard boiled egg on a separate plate. Seeing how those are two big flavor components to the dish, you’d think they wouldn’t forget it. then again.how many people order salad in a bar so I’ll let it go. Crab cakes were okay, cheese bread was very cheesy and I mean verrry cheesy! After finishing my beer, I notice a taptail called the Pickled Irish. Shot of Jameson with a pickle juice back. alrighty then had to try it. I do like pickles but that pickle juice has a pucker factor of 10. Bartender said they make their own, they don’t just pour out the left over juice from a jar of Clausens. Service: I’ve seen other reviews complaining about the service, if it’s just a few of you I’d sit at the bar. We’ve done that every time and have never had a service problem, in fact it’s always been outstanding! You can also chat with the knowledgeable bartenders and get their opinions on what’s on tap. Atmosphere: Nice large pub, hip, lots of tables, lots of parking outside. We enjoy it. but again we do visit early(when the sun is still up). Not sure how it gets later on in the evening. we’re long gone by the time 8 pm rolls around. Value: Tap prices are decent, sampler is good value if you want to try a few before committing. The food prices are a bit on the pricey side, $ 15 — $ 17 for a burger seems a tad high to me. Overall: Lots of beer choices, decent bar menu, inventive cocktails, friendly bartenders will keep us returning occasionally in the future, especially if we don’t feel like making the drive into town!

Okay so this place is located in Mililani Mauka area — where McDonald’s and Long’s is. Not the most familiar with the area — your best bet is to GPS it and let them guide you there. Or… I’ll be your guide. Drinks are on you! :) Anyway, it’s in dark corner of the shopping center. Relatively good size inside. There is tabletop seating, bar seating, and patio seating. Seat yourself at any open seat. Came here on a Friday night on a whim with a friend. They weren’t too busy and we found seats at the bar relatively quickly. Lots of beer on tap and lots of apps to choose from(trust me, the lightbulb finally went off when I finally put two and two together). I have to say, though, the food was a little on the pricier side. Probably could find the same stuff in town for a little cheaper. But that’s not the point here. This place is convenient for all those west siders who don’t want to drive to town! It’s really laid back, the service was great. The crowd was chill. It was a good, low-key Friday night. Older crowd. So if you’re ever feeling a lazy and don’t want to get too dressed up and head into all that traffic, this is a great place to stop by. As for the food, I ordered their steak, medium temperature. It came out a cooked a little longer than I’d like it to be. Very fatty piece of meat, which I know some people like. Seasoning was acceptable. I also ordered their garlic fries. I tasted the french fry, but not the garlic. But… It was nice and crispy, which I liked. Overall, it was a good experience. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, but if I were in the area and wanted to grab a drink, I wouldn’t mind coming back. Enjoy!

UPDATE: We recently revisited Taps and Apps in Mililani Mauka and had a much better experience. We ordered a flight and the charcuterie pizza, which was delicious. The cheese was soft and creamy and the meats were fresh. It was served on a wooden board which gave it a nice rustic touch. As long as you are not visiting during«red zone» hours(i.e. late at night when they may be slow and decide to close) you will have a good experience. Nice option for beers and cocktails in Mililani. I’m glad I gave them a second chance.

We hadn’t been back here in awhile so we were pleased that they had updated the menu and added more cocktails. I really liked the taps and apps Mule. I also felt the food has really improved. We ordered the Italiano flat bread, fried veggies, hapa nachos, crab cakes, calamari, and southern fried chicken sandwich. Everything was good but the calamari and the sandwich were especially delicious. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and the bread pudding. The bread pudding had a fried outside and had so much potential to be amazing but it turned out really bland. It really needs to be sweeter. As for service, we first sat at the bar to wait for a table. I asked a waitress if she could give us a heads up if a table was finishing up and she wouldn’t help us. So we had to watch for a table to open up and nearly knocked people over trying to secure it. I didn’t like that we had to close out our tab at the bar because our food order was on that tab. After we sat at the table and got a new server, we felt the service was lacking. It makes sense since we pretty much paid for our meal and tip already and were only ordering dessert and more drinks through her. Needless to say our service was pretty lacking which reminds me the other time we came here our group had changed tables and the servers were actually arguing about it which made us really uncomfortable.

I’m not exactly sure how much of the menu has changed(seeing as last night was the first time I’ve been to Taps and Apps), but the waitress did mention they put out a new menu about a month ago… and it makes me wonder how the old menu was to only be rated 3 stars. As far as drinks go, I was there for the food, so I can’t comment on the drinks. We ordered the mushroom and brie artisan pizza, house fries, T&A pub salad, and southern fried chicken sandwich. Let me say… I have been craving their mushroom and brie pizza ever since last night. Hahaha. I usually hate sweet with savory(the pizza has dried cranberries on it), and I am also not a huge fan of arugula(which is piled on top of the pizza)…but it surprisingly all worked together amazingly. Kudos to our waitress for recommending it. :) Other than that, their house cut fries are some of the yummiest I have eaten, and the mix of greens they use for their salad is super fresh and crisp. Luckily, we went around 5 on a Thursday night, so parking wasn’t bad… but I could definitely see how it could be very difficult finding a parking spot seeing as there are a few other eating places nearby. Bottom line… I am definitely going back for more of their delicious food.

I must update my review from the very first time I went. This place has stepped it up a little. Parking now has gotten really crowded being there are other places that has opened up since Taps & Apps opened. Your surrounding areas go from Wing Stop, Taco Del Mar, Verizon, Longs, Tesoros, Dominos, L&L, Super Cuts, Subway & Sugar Coated. All thats missing is a grocery store, LOL… Now that this place has been around for several months it has made its changes n people has made establishments there as a chill place to hang out. This time around the food was AMAZING n they even got a couple of new items on the menu. The atmosphere is really laid back n relaxing. They even have their outside deck open if u wanted to sit out there n eat. The customer service was great:)) && thats a plus for a bar. Overall my experience this time around was great n Ill be going back:))

It was a late night Sunday, 11:45pm to be exact. Me and my friend wanted to get a night cap for the day, we went to BWW only because I knew they would be open and they had booze, however horrible service, so we left. Hoorah! for Unilocal to rescue us! Saw that Taps and Apps were open until 2AM, and I always wanted to try this place, but never really had the chance. They are located in Mililiani Mauka, next to Wing Stop. The parking lot was pretty empty with only 3 cars, so we thought they were closed. To our surprise they were open. However, there were only like 2 people drinking. The bartender was super cool and just told us to sit anywhere. I looked over the menu and the bartender said the kitchen was closed so only drinks we could order. I just had a revelation… LOL I thought ‘apps’ were like a place to play games, but ‘apps’ is appetizers! LOL, so they only strictly sell that. They all sounded so good, so i will be back soon. The drinks we ordered were pretty good on tap, and cheap. The drink prices range from 5 – 30 $ 3 stars because they should give bar snacks for the late nighters like myself haha, and because I have yet to try the rest of their menu. The venue was an ok size, and I could see this place being packed and hot on a regular day time. I hope I can come back and try the rest of the menu and give them a better rating. Until next time Taps and Apps!

Location/Parking: They are located in The Gateway Center of Mililani Mauka next to Navy Federal and Wing Stop. The shopping center is big but the parking next to the bar is minimal. Ambiance: It’s a chill bar with ample seating on the bar, 10 tables and seating outside. There is a large screen TV at the bar. They also make their own beer. You can purchase a growler and fill it up. Drinks: They are known for their selection of beer. They have a total of 36 beers on tap which is awesome for beer lovers! They have a flight drink special where you pick 4 drinks to try. They also make mixed drinks and they have a Bloody Mary bar in the mornings. I tried the Mililani Melon and I highly recommend it. I like sweet fun drinks and I’m glad they had mixed drinks here. Food: We enjoyed ALL the food and we ordered half the menu. Lol. Our favorite was the Irish nachos. It was so unique! It had Irish cheese, purple sauerkraut, corn beef brisket and homemade kettle chips. We also tried the farmer salad, lamb scotch egg, pupu steak, wings and the French fries. We tried to order oysters but it was unavailable that night. Prices: The flight of beer was $ 16 which is a steal considering 1 glass of beer is around $ 5-$ 10. The appetizers are pricey and the portion is small. Most of the appetizers cost around $ 12-$ 16. Overall, I’m glad I tried out this place. My party of four enjoyed the variety of beers, mixed drink selection, unique appetizers and chill vibes of this place. We will be back again in the future.
