Used a groupon. Food was fresh and we’ll presented. Steak hibachi was pretty good, not salty. However, nothing particularly special. Very reasonable portion sizes and prices. Service was prompt. Plenty of seating for larger groups. Metered parking out front. Bubble tea was a little too watery for my taste. A good, average restaurant if you’re craving hibachi.

The sushi here was good, along with the chicken and broccoli meal we ordered. I used to eat here when it was under a different management so I was a little nervous coming back, but I can say I was no let down and the service was good. I recommend for an intimate date.

I went here with my daughter, and we had a groupon. We found this place to have terrible habachi, the fried rice was white rice with one egg and soy sauce, veggies were skimpy and mostly onions. ice cream scoop so small you could barely see. The chef did not look clean and was very boring. The waitress when we first came in was rude and nasty, my daughter had to get her told then she changed her tune. To many nice habachi places in New Jersey this is one of the worst.

Had dinner here last night. Found a coupon on their website offering 15% off so decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. I had sushi appetizer and it was terrific. Fish was nice and fresh. I really enjoyed it. I ordered the sukiyaki as my main meal. It could have served 2 people, no problem. It was loaded with noodles, all sorts of mushrooms, glass noodles, and all sorts of vegetables. I ate about half and had them pack the rest. The soup ii was in wasn’t sweet. I don’t like sweet so this was perfect for me. My boyfriend had the negimaki bento box. It came with soup, salad, egg roll, tempura, rice, California rolls and, of course, negimaki. Incredible amount of food also. And he told me it was all delicious. We will make this a regular place for us.

This place is pretty good. They have a nice set up in the back with multiple areas for Hibachi or a nice secluded dining room for dinner. On Thursday’s they have half price sushi(and apps I believe) which is really a price you can’t beat. The sushi is good, service is OK. They rush you in and out and the service in the dining room seems kind of «blah». The man that we had for hibachi was a lot of fun. He had some different jokes and stuff that I haven’t heard at a hibachi yet(because usually they are all the same) and he was very personable. The hibachi is cheap considering the food you get. You get soup, salad, shrimp, fried rice or noodles, whatever you pick as your entrée, vegetables and ice cream at the end. The soup honestly tasted like dirty water so I didn’t eat mine but the ginger dressing on the salad is so good. All of the other food was great also, they give you big portions. The man that was busing the table and taking our ice cream order really rushed us through we didn’t really get what we ordered but I wasn’t that hungry for ice cream anyway. Overall, a good experience, nothing amazing but I would recommend trying it and I would go back in the future, probably only a Thursday in the dining room, but any other night for hibachi in the back.

We come here as a family. My wife only orders sushi, my children and I order hibachi. We have had birthday parties here for the kids in the private room. Hibachi is typical. Sushi is ok. Service is ok. You can find coupons on line. But, if you do not hand in your coupon before you order, they will not accept the coupon. We are convinced that with the coupon, you get less food.

Thankfully I did not pay when we came as I would have been even more disappointed. Ordered a couple of rolls for dinner along with miso soup. The soup was flavorless and bland. One of the rolls was a jalapeño roll and they ended up using canned jalapenos instead of fresh ones. The other was spicy tuna and it should have been called un-spicy tuna as it possibly the worst tuna roll I have ever had. I also tried my wife’s salmon hibachi which was equally disgusting. The salmon tasted like it was pre-frozen and none of her food had very good flavor. The restaurant itself us rather dumpy as well. They had hip/hop, top 40 music blaring, the front near the sushi bar is a mess and the toilets were overflowing in the men’s room. With so many good Japanese restaurants in the area I am surprised a crap hole like this stays in business. What a dismal meal.

Tasty hand rolls. I usually get the mango roll, sweet potato roll, avocado roll, oshinko or the vegetarian roll. They are all delicious and consistent in taste. Staff is very friendly. Best ice cream and tempura choices among many sushi places around the Millburn-Short hills area. Ambience is very well done, dim lit and family style with beautiful Japanese flavored interior. Great place for an early dinner. They’re also BYOB

Gross. Was told delivery time was 40 minutes. An hour and 15 later, my food arrived. Sushi was in same bag with hot edamame, so sushi was warm(ew). And to top it all off, it tasted sour. In. The. Trash.

A bit dark in the back of the restaurant where most sit. Great prices on the sushi. I think most who come here are driven by price, not quality. I’m not huge on sushi. As long as it doesn’t smell, it generally tastes the same to me. My wife, who is particular about her sushi, says its okay, not great. But for the money, it’s the place to go if you want tuna or a California Roll.

So cheap! Best deals! Always order from here. The people who work there weren’t so friendly originally but now that we are regulars the owner is so nice to us! We miss having 50 percent off for dinner!

Great prices and very good food. Service and atmosphere is ok. Hibachi area is always packed. Sushi is always fresh and good quality. Check online or local papers as they usually have some coupons.

This place made me very angry!!! Wait until you hear this one!!! I was given a lunch menu and ordered the filet mignon(as you do at a sushi place). I sat down 10 minutes before the happy hour ended. According to the menu, I should’ve paid $ 12 for my meal($ 12 happy hour, $ 15 regular lunch price) They charged me $ 30. Triple the price!!! Not only did they not honor the happy hour price, but they gave me the dinner portion and charged me for a dinner portion. The dinner menu wasn’t even on the table!!! I had words with the manager and they wouldn’t lower the price for anything. I told them I would never come back and I’d write a review, thus, here I am. Truly disappointed in how they treated a once loyal costumer.

Good bang for the buck if you just want to order a bunch of rolls in. Standard mail are $ 3 – 4, and specialty rolls are $ 5 – 8. Not top shelf, but still very good. Service is somewhat slow and inattentive.

Good sushi at great prices. Good for large crowds and they have hibachi that looks good, but haven’t tried yet. Friendly quick staff.

Very casual Japanese restaurant located near a plethora of restaurants in downtown Millburn. Staff was friendly. I had the filet Mignon and asparagus appetizer which was super tasty. The meat was tender, asparagus cooked perfectly, all smothered in a sweet Teriyaki sauce. Entrée was chicken tempura. HUGE serving. I took half of it home. The chicken was super tender and cooked perfectly, although I would have liked a bit more flavor out of the sauce.

I noticed other negative reviews– so I thought I’d chime in. Definitely not worth your money or time. We took our daughter out for hibachi. The chef was friendly and did a nice presentation. We’d only ever taken her to one hibachi dinner– and it was a much more elaborate and enjoyable presentation. But this was ok. We arrives pretty early and it was still very quiet. The table we sat at was set for three people on each side– but no plates in front if where the chef is cooking. So we moved over and he shifted our plates. As the dinner wore on, they seemed really stressed out by our choice of seating– perhaps needing the space for other people? But it was far from crowded. They couldn’t get us out fast enough. The entire staff seemed«distressed». It honestly felt like they were all being held against their will!!! Right down to the manager yelling at our waiter. We had ordered something extra– but then changed our mind. I told the waiter«if it’s not too late– we’d like to cancel that. If it is too late– we’ll take it to go». That led to a lot of shouting alongside our table, ending with the manager faking a smile and saying it’s too late. Whatever. It should not have been a deal worth him shouting over. There was another woman helping run things that had a permanent angry, concerned look on her face. She seemed to be in a huge rush to get us out of there. And the food? Mediocre at best. Flavorless fried rice. Over cooked edamame. The beef negamaki was tasty! Probably packaged. :) So– scratch this a joint off the list mostly for the service. There must be other hibachi places nearby.

I’m also surprised at the negative reviews of this place. My review is only on the sushi side of the restaurant. There’s hibachi and sushi and with sushi being half priced, why not always come here??? The only negative I can come up with is the slight, dank smell inside. This may be because of the waterfall in the front of the foyer as you come in. That area smells damp and a little moldy, as water is constantly moving over rocks, glass and whatever else is there. It’s nice to look at but a little smelly. That smell, combined with old carpet, lingers just a little on the inside, as the sushi area is nearest to the door. Perhaps you wouldn’t notice the smell at all on the hibachi side? As for the sushi itself, it’s not the best I ever had, but it’s good. But did I mention it’s half price on some of the common rolls? I’ve never had a problem with the service, as some others stated here. The bathrooms are also clean and neat. I enjoy this place fine and I would recommend it. Another perk to this place is that there’s a Red Mango across the street, as Asians are not known for their desserts. Wolf down some sushi rolls and head across the street for dessert. Ah nice. What more can you ask for?
