Not the most authentic Sichuan food, but still above average. Pros: Healthy oil and fresh ingredients, which is rare in other Sichuan restaurant. A few special Sichuan dishes you won’t be able to get anywhere else. Cons: Tastes a little bland for the most picky tongue.

If only I could give them minus one … the food there cannot be farther away from authentic Sichuan, and you don’t need to be from China to know it. When I ask chef how comes there is no chili in Burning Noodle(宜宾燃面) — then what’s burning at all — the chef replied ‘because you Americans don’t like spicy food’. That accusation is false. Not every Sichuan dish needs to be spicy, but then they do not show an adequate appreciation of their ingredients, much less to make any taste out of. When I finally get to pay my $ 21 check with $ 30, the waitress asked ‘can I keep the change’. I do not think it’s a legitimate question in any restaurant. FYI, the minimum for credit card is $ 40.

We ordered the spicy pig feet, 水煮鱼,什锦冒菜 and 冰粉。 I love the pig feet and 冰粉! pig feet is super tender and chewy, bing fen is just like the street food that I had in chengdu. As for the rest of the dishes, have to say I tried better ones. The flavor doesn’t seem to be blended in. The fish is a little big plain.

Really great place for Sichuan food. The food is soo authentic that I thought I was back home. For those of you who don’t love here, you are definitely not REAL fan of authentic Sichuan food.

New location new review. Let it be gentle. In case you’re using navigation, instead of turning right into the bigger plaza. Turn left to the smaller plaza instead. So anyway, this place is 100% Chinese as you can get. Luckily if your Chinese is horribad or nonexistent. the menu is has number short list. The translation is relatively accurate. And the waitresses are pretty friendly, know what to help you with and what not. So lets get to the food. It’s actually not that bad. Other than the fact is still tuned down for the general public. The steamed mapo tofu was delightful, rich layer of spices. Gives a decent kick and the it actually have peppercorn! Amazed. The noodles are pretty good. Thick and carries a bouncy texture. However, it barely gave enough of spicy kick compared to the tofu and the next item. The spicy fish is yeah, actually spicy enough to get us off guard. Equally on par with the tofu and goes super well with the noodles. The appetizer was OK, Shanghai dumpling was OK, the gyaoza with the chili sauce was good. Wanted to get the rabbit and the intestines but don’t want to unappetize my white friends. Price tag is def affordable, has parking, would come again/10

I am a fan of sichuan spicy food in general. Thought this place would give golden garlic some competition. Coupled beef — 3 stars. It was just ok. Spicy boiled fish — 4 stars. It was 5 in taste but there was way more tofu than fish. Spicy beef stew noodles 4 stars. It was 5 in taste but again very little meat. Minced tofu with chicken 3 stars — one of the few things on the menu that I could order for my kids but they didn’t like it. Taste was ok. A bit oily and no chicken taste at all. Chicken noodle soup — 4 stars. pretty good taste, hardly any meat. Stir Fry beans — 4 stars. pretty common. very oily. No there’s no fried rice on the menu either. No smiling waiters. We got squeezed on to a 4 person table when we had 3 kids and the place was ½ empty the whole time! So I guess if we REALLY need a spicy noodle fix then I will order to go because literally there was nothing for me to order for my kids.

It’s always nice to see a brand new«Grand Opening» banner hanging in your neighborhood. And I happened to run across this banner the other day right at lunchtime and right at the peak of my hunger! I’m a Szechwan fanatic, so I was all in. I took the recommendation of the young waiter who pointed me to: +BURNINGNOODLE(4⁄5) — When he brought out this bowl of heaping noodles, my first thought was that there was no way I was going to eat all of it. Big bowl of noodles! All the mix-in toppings were sitting neatly separated on the top of the noodles(ground pork, peanuts etc). It’s a nice presentation, but the down side is that you have to mix everything together by yourself. It’s kind of hard to do because the noodles are sort of stuck together, and the bowl isn’t really large enough to move the noodles around. AND… you only have a pair of lame, plastic chopsticks to get the job done. I asked for a fork and I got the job done. So, as far as the taste goes, the noodles were a bit too starchy. At first, I felt the dish was too salty, but the saltiness grew on me and I was good with it as I took more bites. The spice level was disappointing. Not enough heat at all! If you’re going to name a dish«Burning Noodle», you better be prepared to deliver the heat. Despite the negatives I’ve listed here about the noodles, I still loved this dish. In fact I ordered it on my second visit. +SPICYBEEFSOUP(5⁄5) — My wife’s dish but I loved it so much, I ate probably half of hers — plus all of mine! The waiter said this was probably the most popular dish and I can see why. The broth is this ridiculously simple broth with a salty kick to it. I liked everything floating in the broth except the beef! I honestly couldn’t find any piece of solid beef, all tendon and pieces that looked more like beef parts, but not beef. Strange. But they had napa cabbage in there, tofu, and some other tasty morsels. But that broth was so tasty and addictive. I asked the waiter if next time I could substitute the beef with another protein and he said yes, that he could replace the beef with either ground pork or shrimp. That’s good to know, because that’s exactly what I plan to do next time. There are some other things on the menu that I’m looking forward to trying next time, the Fried Chicken, the Twice Cooked Pork and more. My wife took issue with the cleanliness of the place. For me, it was OK but she’s a bit pickier. She notices when the tables aren’t wiped properly and when the water glasses are stained. I notice too I guess, but I tend to overlook it if the food is worth coming for. She wouldn’t rest her arms on the table because she felt a sticky residue. After she mentioned it, I noticed it too. So if you’re a stickler about places being squeaky clean, this one might fall short for you, but I’m pretty sure you’ll be happy with the food, especially if you’re into Szechwan-style food.

The name of this place is Sichuan Gourmet. The name it’s listed under is on the ABC application for their LLC. Got the special pepper sauce noodles with three meats. Beef tendon, ground pork and a loaf that is a cross between Laberkase and spam(guess each culture has something similar). Wasn’t too spicy but had a good kick. They give you a to. Of noodles which have a good texture. A good deal for the price. Employees are friendly unlike the cranky service you normally get at places like this. There’s been a plethora of new Sichuan/hunan noodle places and this is a good addition to the scene

Place is not too big, servers seem to be inexperience(they mistakenly brought us water when we asked for tea), but they are very friendly and pleasant. Food is very authentic, not a lot of choices but mostly well cooked and flavored. Beef noodle soup — I was hesitant to order this because earlier review was saying it’s too oily, but when asked for recommendations I was pointed to this one so I decided to give it a try. It was very flavorful, a little on the oily side but overall the experience was quite pleasant. Amount of beef is decent, and there is huge amount of noodle. «Buring» noodle — My friend’s favorite dish. I only tasted a little bit because I was too full and we over ordered. My friend managed to gobble down most of it. The flavor is right and authentic. Steamed beef with rice flour — I normally wouldn’t order this dish in other Chinese places, because they are usually quite oily. But I order this one as they told me it’s one of the most popular dishes. and to my surprise it turned out to be pretty good. The potato and yam at the bottom goes very well with the beef on top. It’s quite a decent amount with the price. It was a lot of food for the 2 of us, and the bill came out to be $ 38. But we ordered way more than we could handle, it’s probably enough for 4 people. Definitely a come back.

Some people do not like the taste, I think they are probably not from Sichuan, they just can’t take it. I personally think the flavors are quite authentic. And I think they are trying very hard to improve the food as well as the service. They just opened for a few days so I will definitely give it another try.

I think they have been open 1 – 2 weeks ago. Look for vinyl banner sign wafting in the wind(as of this writing) This restaurant took the spot of Nam Giao Vietnamese Restaurant(near the former Goodwill) we went there at 1220 for a take out order of wonton soup only and it was busy with numerous guests. The staff was a little overwhelmed, we waited about 25 minutes for our soup. The order tickets were laid on counter and the wind gust blew them around. Now to the won ton soup, It was piping hot and I really like the broth flavor, it wasn’t salty or over soy sauced, but it was not filled close to top, it was about 90% full. I like that so I can season to my liking. The won tons felt and tasted homemade. Very flexible and not stiff like Gyoza skin(some places their won tons are very stiff, thick and pasty) the meat filling was soft and seasoned well. I didn’t find any vegetables like a carrot, bok choy etc. I actually had to put sliced green onions, so next time I’ll just ask for extra green onions(I love green onions in my asian style soups or stews) Lil note: The take out menu was actually on card stock(full page, double sided). Nice touch as it stands out from my drawer full of paper menus :) so overall, they were a lot disorganized. Very long way time for a take out soup order(at least 25 minutes). Soup was hot BUT it was broth and wontons, no veggies floating. I actually put my own green onion and a dash of sesame oil and soy sauce. NOTE: Not sure if this is same restaurant, as I saw a restaurant with same name in Sunnyvale.

This is a new place and a lot of people were talking about it. So a few if us came to check it out. The food was just OK. The noodle doesn’t look to be handmade, the taste is average, nothing to write home about. What is really poor is the service. We went as a party of 5. To start, no chopsticks were provided, even after one noodle was served! The waitresses were very new and inexperienced. Then, they completely forgot about our order and left us waiting for 30 minutes before we had to ask them about it. Then the waitress said they would start making it… I ordered the cold noodles, and when the noodle got here, it was hot! They messed up on a cold noodle dish! It took way to long for them to remake the noodle I ended up cancelling the dish… A very very poor dining experience.
