This is our favorite place for breakfast on the weekends. They serve breakfast all day, so weird it’s still an option when we don’t figure out what we want until closer to noon. The food is great, portions are huge, staff is friendly but not overbearing or annoying. There is a wait some days, but it’s worth it. They’re quick with our order and we haven’t ever gotten something worthy of less than 4*. Oh, and the kids pancakes come out like Mickey Mouse :)

We really like this place for breakfast. the omelette was amazingly fluffy and taste terrific! The service was excellent, everyone was friendly. It’s kind of like stepping back in time and feels real comfortable! We will be going back to try lunch and dinner for sure!

Wow real talk this place is LIT. Like I’m a huge fan of diners, and I have to say critiquing them is one of my areas of expertise, but I have nothing bad to say about this place(oops wait actually I do but I’ll save it for the end). Insane amount of food and super reasonable. I always get the«Everything» on their breakfast menu, it’s prob the best(idk what to really call it) egg scramble I’ve ever had, and I’ve for sure had upwards of a million. I mean it’s so good I don’t even bother looking at the rest of the menu because I’ve already experienced ultimate perfection. It’s got bacon, ham, sausage(savage af), bell peppers, onions, cheese and hashbrowns all mixed together. Like you don’t even have to bother mixing up all your food because they already did it for you!!! I don’t normally fux with corned beef hash but I tried that too and it was fire. Service is pretty fast and they’re super nice. We don’t even ever have to wait too long to get seated even tho the place is pretty smallish. The ONE thing I was not super happy with was the orange juice :’(it wasn’t fresh squeezed and u already know I only get down w/the 100% fresh squeezed kush &OJ. That’s okay though, I ain’t trippin I just know not to order that again. Everything else was perfect so I’m not even taking a star off for it. If I could come here like every Sunday morning, that would be the life. Prolly get fat tho

Pros: — large portions, great value — 18oz mimosas for $ 5 — great gravy on the chicken fried steak Cons: — poor service — expeditor issues Honestly, this place could have been 4 stars if their service was up to par. The front of the house seems to lack solid leadership. The hostess, who I think is the owner, seems to be out of her element. She’s not very accommodating, and she was slow to acknowledge us; plus, there’s hardly any room to wait despite the constant lines outside. We were told the wait for two would be 15 – 20 minutes, but the actual wait time was 40 minutes, which to me, showed her inexperience or just annoyed me that we had to wait twice as long as expected. We finally got our seats but waited another 10 minutes for our server to take our order. The servers seem very busy, but they only do one thing per round, so they take an order and put in the order, which slows down the whole flow. Also the expeditor or server messed up since I got my food and we had to wait another 5 minutes for my friend’s food. The actual food is fairly decent. I got the Chicken Fried Steaks with scrambled eggs, toast, and a pancake(instead of hash browns) along with an 18oz mimosa. They’re fairly flexible with substitutions, so that was a plus. The steak was decent – pounded tender and nicely seasoned breading, but the gravy was on point. It was comforting, hearty, and delicious enough to eat on its own. I think there were bits of bacon or ham mixed in with the gravy to add bits of extra flavor and texture – very much appreciated. Everything else was decent but nothing noteworthy – just great diner, comfort food. The mimosas were a great touch. $ 5 for 18oz of what tastes like college all over again – lots of cheap champagne mixed with some OJ. Would recommend drinking out of the mason jar itself instead of the straw; not sure why, but it tastes a lot better that way. Bottom Line: A great diner food-wise, terrible diner atmosphere-wise

I’m a regular customer here. I’m very satisfied with the food here. I’ve ordered things off the lunch menu and breakfast menu. My vote goes out to the philly cheese steak sandwich, spaghetti and meatballs, club sandwich and pretty much everything on the breakfast menu

Though a fan of diners. there was just an odd, out of place feeling I get whenever I step inside of Mil’s. The gf likes the food here, but as far as diner food is concerned. I guess my expectations are usually higher. They make good, decent food that is pretty much… mediocre at best. The service is nice, and the people there are pretty laid back. Nice neighborhood joint for those too lazy to cook up something up yourself, I suppose.

When I dine in a diner, I need my waitress to call me sweetie. I was not disappointed at Mil’s Diner. Two eggs over easy, an enormous amount of hash browns(crispy on top, soft underneath), half of an avocado and sourdough toast. And large orange juice for $ 10.88! Holy smokes. Granted, I doubt it’s organic, but it’s a good amount of good diner food, at a very reasonable price, served with a «sweetie» and a smile. The man next to me got, «good job,» because he cleaned his plate. I was hoping to get the same accolades, but it was too much food for me to finish!

Only been here once, but was very impressed with the food quality and customer service. I am confident I will be coming back more often and definitely will recommend this place to others. Skip Denny’s or IHOP, and enjoy a real breakfast/diner. Specials every day of the week as well as daily lunch specials. Food tastes great and is actually seasoned to enjoy. Servers and waitstaff are very friendly and will never ignore you when walking by. Every employee here smiles too! :)

Good service. Never had to ask for coffee refills! My corn beef hash hit the spot on a cool rainy morning, and the portions were generous. Seemed like the help knew some of their customers, which means they get return business, which speaks well of them.

Caught up with a friend in the Bay Area… What a difference a year makes in your life. This is a bit of personal reflection but when you think nothing will ever happen to you again… Somehow it will. Went to have some breakfast here where portions are huge and they serve the largest mimosas ever. Corned beef hash was amazing here… Also got the onion rings. The minestrone wasn’t that great but it was fresh. Packed during the holiday season as it reflects how great it is. Had no idea about this place as its in a strip mall.

Was craving some breakfast, so I decided to try this diner based upon Unilocal reviews The service was slow… I get it, the place is packed, but you should at least acknowledge someone or say hi. I had to flag down my waitress to place my order. Maybe she was having a bad day… she seemed fairly unpleasant. I sat at the bar, which is in front of the kitchen window and all I heard from her were complaints and some sarcastic remarks at her co-workers…felt bad for them. Enough ranting… onto the food itself. I got the eggs Benedict. Most certainly not the best I had. While it was definitely edible, nothing stood out about it. It came with Hash browns and half a canned peach on a lettuce… interesting I suppose. The hash browns were good, not too oily or dry or burnt to a crisp. I’ll give this place another shot due to the high number of positive reviews. On the plus side I’m glad this small mom & pop’s diner has been around…

First time here. The diner is small but the food and service is great! Friendly staff! I got the Belgium waffle with strawberries and added bacon and eggs. Very satisfied with what I ordered. Also orders a mimosa. It’s so cute how it’s presented in a mason jar with strawberries and an orange. Definitely will be coming back!

This was a great place to eat breakfast today! We walked in around 10:20am and put our name on the list. I asked the wait time and was told 18 – 20 minutes, not bad at all. We waited inside and 2 counter seats opened up and we made our move. We sat at the counter and were quickly asked if we wanted something to drink from a very nice middle aged gentleman. 2 waters please and the husband asked if the coffee was any good. A quick chuckle and discussion about that and the husband said he would try it. The coffee never arrived but I’ll get back to that. Our waitress(Teri) came over, made sure our drink order was taken and proceeded to take our food order. I ordered a mimosa because of her suggestion and was not disappointed. Our food came out after an average wait. Everything was perfect. Teri was extremely pleasant, she has a great personality. We took the check to be rang up. Eleni asked how was everything, I told her great but that my husband ordered a coffee that never came. It was no big deal but she asked so I was honest. After she rung us up she got my husband some coffee to go, at no charge. That was a classy move and I let her know that I appreciated it. Teri and Eleni are 2 essential employees to keep this place at the level they are operating at. Thanks again, we will be back.

My husband and I come here all the time now. We love the staff, service and food. Their weekday specials are a lot better than the weekend ones but it’s still a steal! We always make it a point to invite our family when they are coming from out of town.

American diners are more like a gastronomic institutions that has established itself through time among generations of loyal customers. Diners such as Mil’s have served its purposed on fulfilling the hunger of its patrons and be a place where«everybody knows your name» — or seems like it. Mil’s diner can and should be cultural heritage of Milpitas as having garnered the prestige of being the city’s best breakfast nook, joint, place one can ever hope for. It not as big as Denny’s, Black Bear or IHOP but it’s incomparable in terms of the cozy feel and the scrumptious food brought to your table. That cant be beat. What’s good about this place is that their reasonably priced food and big servings makes you want to feel full and come back over and over. Their omelet of the day was fluffy and huge. Their bacon crisps to perfection and their hash is more than enough. You get to choose what type of bread you would want with your plate and the coffee is ever flowing until you ask them to stop. The strip steak was tender and tasty, perfect til the very last bite. What more can I say, come and try it out. Have a breakfast of champions!

This is my new favorite brunch place! We came here at 11:30am on a Sunday, which, in retrospect, was probably a terrible decision. The line was totally out the door. But, we were seated within ten minutes! No joke — I checked my phone and it said 11:40am on the dot when we sat down. Grant it, we only had two people, but that’s still pretty impressive. Go for the Mimosa — 18oz for only $ 4.95 is a great deal. But make sure to wait for your food to arrive before you start drinking! If you’re here on a weekend, keep an eye out for the Weekend Specials menu. They gave us a regular menu and we accidentally missed the Weekend Specials, which were on one of those card-holder things on the table. Luckily, our waitress was super gracious in allowing us to re-order. I tried the Make Your Own Omelette(weekend special) with Italian sausage, avocado, spinach, and feta. $ 10.45 seemed a little more on the expensive side until I saw the thing. BIGGESTOMELETTE I HAVEEVERSEENINMYLIFE. Worth the $ 10.45 and then some. Add on the fact that I got toast and pancakes on the side, and I was about ready to roll out of the restaurant. Their pancakes are also huge. I feel like I ate at a restaurant for giants. Again, our waitress was gracious, awesome, and super nice. She even gave me an extra pancake to compensate for the wait(I didn’t feel any sort of wait because the omelette was just enormous, but I’m not about to turn down a free, giant pancake). Delicious brunch at a very pleasant place.

We tried this place while on family vacation. We found reviews online and decided to try it. We were very impressed. The only thing that disappointed were the pancakes. Not because they were bad but because it wasn’t anything stand out. We also ordered steak and eggs, and chicken fried steak. Both were absolutely delicious. Service was a little slow. You could tell the kitchen was running behind. But unlike some of my past experiences, they handled the situation very well. They apologized and brought us all a slice of watermelons while waiting. What a nice surprise coming from a small restaurant. We are so happy we stumbled upon this gem.

C’mon, who doesn’t love a place that serves a fully grown adult male a stack of pancakes in the shape of Mickey Mouse?(We didn’t request them that way by the way, that’s just how they made them, which made it that much better.) We got an omelet and the blueberry pancakes. Both were delicious, especially the blueberry pancakes. The blueberry topping was served hot and I think they may have given me an entire can’s worth of whipped cream on top. It was more food than we could eat, but for a great price. Some reviews have said the service isn’t great. Not true. We experienced great service. We were checked on repeatedly and service was prompt and courteous. We will be back. Seriously. Mickey Mouse pancakes. AND copious amounts of whipped cream. These are my kind of people.

I wish I could give it a better rating, but I give this place a 1.5÷5. I went here with a group of 6 other friends to grab some brunch. The parking lot was huge and we ended up getting a booth which was nice. I ordered a bowl of Broccoli cheese soup($ 6 after tax and tip) while the rest of my friends ordered heartier meals. I got my soup fast, but the rest of my friends waited about 35 minutes which wasn’t cool. The waitress came by every 10 min. to apologize for the long wait which was nice, but wow we waited a long time. We waitied longer than families of 5 who were seated 5 – 10 min. after us… As for the bowl of soup, it was meh. I’d rather go to Quiznos or somewhere else for broccoli cheese. It was thick, like clumpy thick. Unless you’re into that I do not recommend this. I’m not saying to water it down, but it should be thick, creamy, smooth, and hot. On the plus side, the bowl I got was massive. Way bigger than I expected. So much that I couldn’t finish it. Or maybe it’s because I just did not like the soup… Once the other food arrived the table became quiet since everyone scarfed everything down due to our rumbling tummies. The servings were enormous! Some of us could not finish because there was just too much. The service was definitely slow. Like very slow. But thankfully the staff was very nice and apologetic and our waitress gave us a complimentary waffle which I heard tasted really good! Even though I noticed this place has won«Best Diner in Milpitas» for many years, I most likely will not be coming back. I’d rather go to Baldie’s Café since it’s closer to me, service is faster, and the food is delicious!
