Look, the lady at this place is a little rough around the edges… but honestly the pizza is so good that she could slap me across the face and I would still come back for more of this delicious pizza!!! Sometimes you just need to roll with it and laugh a little, it’s not like she calls you out of your name or anything… relax people. With that said, the pizza and the price for what you get is top notch! Pizza so good it will have you facing withdrawals!

Love this place! We always get the Uncle Sam for Super Bowl, has been a tradition for 5 years or so. Also, their lunch deal is great, 2 slices(1 topping) and a drink for a couple bucks. No complaints, and especially not with the boss lady, she’s great! For each of my Super Bowl orders, I’ve done them well in advance(Monday or Tuesday prior), and come in at the time we set up and it is always ready to go. Will continue to visit this place for Sundays and the occasional lunch deal.

This place is located in a small plaza and is also small itself. Walk inside and the eating area has some tables and chairs and old school video arcade games. The menu is simple, and along the left side wall you can see the various sizes they make their pizzas! A lot to choose from, esp if you want to feed a large amount of people. I have only tried an xtra large pizza. be careful though they do slice their pizza with large slices. I have tried pepperoni and combo, and both are good! The crust is a bit on the doughy side, but maybe because it is a hole in the wall and so close to my house, I love the pizza. Better than round table and dominos and pizza hut and little cesars. The middle aged couple that run the place are very straight forward not nice but also not really rude, but you don’t have to put up with them for a long time, just order pay your price and get your pizza. It is extremely good when its fresh out the oven! prices are great too. craving some as I write this review!

This place has some awesome unique pizza toppings. They have a couple of more pizza sizes passed large, unlike a lot of pizza places. I ordered the x large with 3 toppings. Came out to be $ 28.72 plus tax & everything. Pizza came out 30 mins later. All i can say about this place is their customer service that didn’t give the last 2 stars. The employees are a bit rude and seem like they aren’t enjoying their job, which reflects their work ethics. Overall pizza was very delicious, but a little greasy. Service was the only big downside from me giving them all 5 stars.

This is the place to go if you just want to buy one pizza for a large sum of people. The Uncle Sam is 26 inches in diameter! That’s the largest pizza size I’ve ever seen. Taste wise, it’s pretty good, but I still prefer Costco pizza. With Costco’s pizza, I can’t resist their crust, but here, it’s kinda meh. The actual pizza part is pretty good tho. There’s a huge variety of meats to choose from, probably like 10 different kinds. I don’t think I’ve seen any other pizza place that offers chorizo as a topping so that’s pretty neat about this place. Also, their pizza are super cheesy like oozing as you try to pull of a piece of pizza.

Picked up an «Uncle Sam» for a friend and it fed a crowd and then some. The combo we had cost $ 32. The box barely fit through the door, luckily I had my seats down and there was enough room for it! If you order this size, make sure you can transport it! They had cut it into squares for serving, which was perfect. Don’t be put off by the lady who answers the phone. :)

If you like pizza and like a lot of it then Pizza Box is the place to go… I have been going there since the original owner Sam was at the counter taking your orders. it was so successful that he opened up a second Pizza Box on Umbarger, across the street and down the block a little from the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. I used to stop and park my big rig and walk in and order one or two slices and eat them there or in the cab of my tractor. Most times I could only finish one and eat the other one after work. That one closed down but the original still remains to this day. I moved to Salida and then to Modesto, and I would bring one home in the trunk because it wouldn’t fit in the car. I used to get a King Kong and would feed 2 adults + 7 teenagers and it would be gone. One slice for about $ 2 will fill you up. My kids and other people that have had it with me also love it and a lot of people I know go there. Then they created the Uncle Sam and it would not fit going through the front door of my house and always had to go in the trunk because it wouldn’t fit in the car and it will actually cover your entire stove top. People would freak out when they saw the size of the Uncle Sam and ask me where the heck did I get a pizza that big! Gotta try this place. it’s a small place and sometimes you can find a place to sit down or just put it in the trunk of your car and bring it home and enjoy. Just had a slice today and couldn’t finish it and ate it when I got home later… Their prices are lower than eating at Round Table or Mountain Mikes etc. my kids are in their thirties now and they still miss the place because they moved quite a distance away…

Call ahead. The pizza dough is crispy when toasted day after and the cheese has a creamier taste Thad other pizzas.

$ 7.50 lunch special for two single topping slices and a can of soda. Slices are huge so it’s a sizable lunch. Crust was very good. Sauce and cheese pretty average, but pretty good overall. It’s a tiny little place so take out is probably the best option, especially on a hot day as they have no AC apparently.

They have magneficent pizza. The king kong makes a statement whene you bring it in the room because it is so large. You can’t pick it up in a small car it will not fit about four feet wide. The prices are good and it always tastests great. See if you could get a smile I have never seen one from them. They would have fove stars if they were not so slow and wete more plesant to the customers.

I have been coming here since the 1990’s as a teen! Slices still fantastic and the Chinese lady is still back there cooking and handling business! Pizza so good I wrote about it in my food blog. You can read more in detail at

Protip: always call in ahead for your order. My favorite thing to get? Mushroom and pepperoni, the larger the better so I can have more delicious goodness to stuff in my mouth. The crust is delicious and bready and perfectly cooked and the sauce to cheese ratio is pretty good. I really want pizza now and it has to be from this place.

It always smells terrible in there and the place is dirty as F*** I got a slice and it tasted like a old wet towel. And the lady put the greasy pizza in a THINPAPERBAG. there was grease all over my floor mat

Pizza Box, you have been a near and dear friend of mine since the early 90’s. Dealing with all of us as annoying teens and how we come back to this day as adults, still a great place for an awesome slice! Keep it up Pizza Box, you are great and every time I am back up in Nor Cal — I will be seeing you! Cheers!

Pizza Box, I can’t believe you’ve been around for so long and I am just discovering you. I’ve seen you so many times, when I’ve come to Liou’s Kitchen, but I always disregarded you as that scary looking pizza place with the broken arcade games. Oh, how I wish I hadn’t judged the book by the cover, and given you a fair chance earlier. Your pizza is so good. So good!!! (Full Disclosure: Pizza Box caters our church lunches every other week. We love their pizzas… when we actually order enough to feed the whole congregation. And when we don’t order enough… we love it even more, as we look longingly at those who were served pizza before we ran out.)

Look people, this is a dam good pizza. It’s basically my favorite pizza place out there. I always just get the pepperoni and every time I get it its delicious. No matter what size you get the flavor is the same. If your a service snob or think your king of the world and people in the service industry need to kiss your ass then don’t come here. But if you just want dam good pizza then you WILLNOTBEDISAPPOINTED!

Amazing pizza. Probably the best pizza I’ve ever had. Should be 5 stars but knock off one for the horrible, horrendous customer service. The owners are so rude it’s comical. Every time I call to place an order I laugh because they are so rude and always hang up on you. Also if they say 30 minutes, expect it to be an hour. Every time I go to pick up, it’s like they forgot about my order. But I tell you what. The minute I take a bite out of that cheesy, doughy deliciousness, all of those feelings melt away… mmm!

I have never seen a pizza so big in my life. We got the King Kong, shared among about 12 of us. My friend kept saying we could have gotten the Uncle Sam, and I must say I have to agree. The cashier said King Kong feeds 8 – 12, but with our group, we could have done the Uncle Sam. Anyway, we got half combo(mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, sausage, olives) and half Hawaiian(ham and pineapple). The pizza itself wasn’t amazing, but the appeal of this place is clearly the sizes of the pizza. The pizza was good enough though; I think the squares were cut too small and they were pretty difficult to pick up. Plus the bottom crust was a bit soggy, so the toppings tended to slip off. This is a pretty cool place to go if you’re looking to share a huge pizza with some friends. The King Kong came out to be $ 44, which isn’t too bad for the size of the pizza. The size of the place is really small, given that I think most people would come here to eat gigantic pizzas, which means a lot of people would show up. Or do most people get to-go? The place is really small, and we basically took over the whole shop. Half of our party had to stand, and there weren’t really enough chairs either. Anyhow, I’ll be back if I ever have a need for huge pizzas; otherwise, I’d probably rather just go grab a Costco pizza!

My husband placed an order via phone and ordered the Uncle Sam size pizza for five people. We didn’t need to order the size since there was way too much pizza, but my husband wanted to try it out. You could easily feed 8 people with this size pizza. We had half combo and half vegetarian. Combo had sausages that were perfectly round. Vegetarian included mushroom, jalapeño, tomato, pineapples, peppers, garlic, and onions. Pizza was topped with fresh tomatoes. Crust was soft and fluffy. Overall, it was good and would be ordered again.

Hubs and I have gone to The Pizza Box a lot. Living practically across the street gives ample opportunity to explore the pure thin crust awesomeness that is –as we lovingly refer to it — The Box. The crust has great flavor, the sauce is always perfect-I’m a stickler for the sauce. Gotta be right, or it ain’t gonna happen. Love the pepperoni. I don’t like it so thick it curls, or too spicy my face is on fire. Its perfect with the yummy cheese! The sausage is crumbly perfection-those little balls of sage-y love are heavenly. The shrooms… FRESH! And they cover everything-YES!!! how it should be! Ambiance isn’t a deal-I’m there to pick up a pizza. The tables aren’t there for you to have a five-star restaurant experience, they are there so ya don’t have to stand while your waiting. The asian lady that catches so much flack from the 1-star raters…? She calls my Hubs«honey» when he calls in an order… so maybe its YOU and your piss-poor attitude. Ever think it really IS all about you? Hm. Points to ponder. But I digress… Great pizza, call it in, go grab it and enjoy it. THAT is some damn fine pizza.
