Got a bacon cheeseburger and added bbq and onion rings. Burger was super tasty and delicious, patty was a little small, but still good. Also got a small Oreo shake, yummy. First time here, enjoyed it, def would come back if I am in the area.

Clean place, right next to the freeway, and alright service. I ordered the cod fillet and had high hopes for the tartar sauce… I know, I know, who cares, right? Me. I do. Needless to say, the tartar sauce didn’t meet my expectations. The dhabiha is questionable. Eat at your own risk… or taqwa.

Wayback Burgers is a great place. I’ve only been there twice, but both times they had great service and great food and nice 50s music playing in the background. I got the Chipotle burger which is basically a burger with pepper jack cheese and tons of jalapenos, just the way I like them. If you’re looking for a good burger, you can’t go wrong going here.

Came here with family since we were craving halal burgers. Rodeo burger with onion rings and BBQ sauce was good, I liked it better than the sriracha chicken burger(also good). French fries and onion rings were good, chili cheese fries were ok. Burger is not that big, but with fries hits the spot. Staff was really nice. The milkshakes tasted awful, we couldn’t drink them. I think they use powder? Not sure if it was one bad experience or that’s the taste in general but it was awful.

Not good quality burger and pricy. Burger was too small and the taste was just ok. I would prefer some other burger place.

I gave this place 3 tries… And everytime it was the same disappointment. Milkshakes are horrible. The beef has no flavor, like it isn’t even seasoned. And the chicken is just as bad. I’m done. Maybe us Californians are just to spoiled by In N Out??? And everything else is mediocre?

Almost 8 bucks for just a Patty melt. It wasn’t worth it because when I picked up the bag it was light which told me there wasn’t much to it. My first bite tasted like french toast. Not sweet but«eggy». And the meat was nothing special. Overall, just a greasy burger that might have tasted better if it didn’t cost as much as a roast. The entire menu is expensive so you’ve been warned. There’s even a burger that costs $ 25.99. It has nine patties. I have no idea what it looks like but I would hope it would feed at least a family of hamsters.

Interesting concept. Clean place. Milk shake fills up. Burger and fries were just ok.

It will make you feel bad about yourself. Greasy, falling apart patty, taste more like butter than burger, dripping grease. Very depressing experience for me. I only almost finished the burger due to low self-esteem. The new red velvet milkshake sounded like a fun idea until just about 3 sips into it then it’s more like blah and you realize it goes terrible with a hamburger. Now I have to find something to eat to get this taste out of my mouth. This place reminds me of Chubby Burger in Fremont. Please try timeout for yourself. I don’t want to be the only one. And customer service was 100% though friendly staff. If they worked somewhere else I’d definitely like to eat there.

Tried their signature philly, rodeo and cheesy burgers. Loved philly and rodeo. Cheesy was nice but i didnt care for the buttered bun-it was too crunchy imo. We have tried their crispy chicken sandwich in the past. That was just ok, not knock your socks off good. Smaller than the burgers. Their chocolate milkshake was fairly good(you can’t go wrong with chocolate, can you?). I felt it was overpriced and the small was really toddler sized or something. The cheese fries are just fries with cheese you can make at home. Nothing special. Overall, their burgers taste good but alot of us felt that their portions were kinda small, esp for a burger place and the prices really high.

Honestly a little surprised of the interior. I’d definitely come back to try other things on the menu seeing that I wasn’t hungry when I went here so I only got the onion rings. Why you can’t put jalepenos and grilled onions on the onion rings for me is beyond belief. Wasted containers for the extra sides. So that’s a minus pt for me. Poor guy actually sounded terrified to say yes to adding the extra sides on my onion rings for me. But the onion rings weren’t 90% batter and 10% missing the onion so I was happy.

I keep hearing about how this place was so expensive but honestly $ 8 for freshly made(not frozen) halal American burger sounds very reasonable to me. Now if you are a ‘Dollar Menu’ fan, maybe this place is just not for you. I was impressed by the quality and the taste of the burger and a clean restaurant. My son loved the food and the Pina Colada shake was a refreshing treat on a hot day too.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience! I got a single bacon cheeseburger customized with onion rings, bbq sauce, lettuce, tomato, and grilled onions! It only cost $ 5.49 too. There is a veggie burger option, chicken, fish, salad, and chili! Milkshakes are drinkable through a straw so that was good.

Got the fried pickle burger w/onion rings and a star spangled milkshake. Everything was bomb. Burger was good. Only gripe and the reason why this place is a 3 instead of a 4 is the price. I got 3 things and it cost me 15 dollas. The burger itself was 8.29…Onion rings bout 2 – 3 bux I can live wit that. Milk shake another 2 – 3 bux I can live wit that. Ok but a burger costin almost 9 bux?!! Not even red robin charges that much and they a straight up restaurant. This is kinda a fast food place so no reason why it should be that much. The burger was about the size of an in n out burger so its not as big as a restaurant burger. While it was good, I wouldnt say it was the best burger ive ever had nor was it worth the price tag. Overall, I enjoyed my meal but the prices are pretty ridiculous. My suggestion is to get the combo but u hafta get the signature burger so that the whole combo is 8.29 instead of jus the burger itself being 8.29…

Great burger joint. Nothing fancy. This is a straight up burger joint that serves fresh burger and doesn’t mess with it. Simply delicious. I loved the church milkshake .It takes the ordinary milkshakes to the next level. The cinnamon flavor gives an extra goodness to it.

Ok so at first this place was 2 stars. This was when it first opened. Now I find myself coming here 3 times a month. They must be doing something right! I usually get this cheesy burger(hold the butter) Chicken tenders Milkshake for kids Burgers are three stars Chicken tenders are 5 stars! I love the theme of the place, parking is a breeze and it’s right off the freeway which is a plus.

After hearing so much about this place and reading reviews, I decided to give it a try. First, it is easy to find the place. Somewhat clean and workers are friendly. Secondly, the menu is all about burgers, shakes, and fries. That’s good to have a focused menu than to be all over the place. Now the burgers. Definitely use fresh ingredients. The burger size is small and expensive for what it’s worth. I love burgers and this burger just didn’t make it to my standards. The meat patty didn’t seem like it was fit for the burger. They could probably use that meat and make good philly cheese steak sandwiches instead. I feel like the mushrooms should be sautéed, that way it added some flavors to the meat. It wasn’t the best nor the worst burger. It’s mediocre burger spot. Next, the shakes. I asked for a neapolitan shake. The cashier didn’t even know what that was. I had to tell him to mix vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate together. However, he did warn me that it wouldn’t be great. I should have listened to him and stuck to the regular drinks. Overall, the workers are nice. it’s expensive for small burger that isn’t even tasty. The shakes are not the best. You want shakes go to in n out. I guess the hype was just really about having first halal fast food joint in the bay area.

I was really excited to try this new halal burger joint but was terribly disappointed. It’s located right next to the Starbucks off 880. Parking here is limited so park at the business park if it’s the weekend. I came here with friends on a Saturday for dinner around 5pm. The place was pretty full and there wasn’t really a line. They sure offer a mixed bag of items on their menu from burgers to chicken tenders to fish burgers. They also have fries, house made chips, and Irish nachos. I think the best thing they serve are there freshly made milkshakes. I ordered the single cheeseburger while Ken L. ordered the rodeo burger that had onion rings inside. He made it a combo and added fries and an Oreo cookies and cream milkshake. The burgers were not that great considering all the hype I’ve heard about this place. The patty was on the dry and bland side and the presentation just reminded me of a burger king whopper. Very disappointing. The fries were not memorable and the only redeeming thing was the milkshake. It wasn’t too watery and had a nice thick consistency. I don’t know if I will be back. For the price we paid, I could have gone to Smashburger and ate something I would have really enjoyed. Note: Their bathroom is connected to Starbucks by the same hallway. Strange.

Wayback burgers why did you disappoint me *sigh*. I had a few people mention this place to me, I saw it on the internet and drove past it. Seeing as though this was a chain and it was new in the area, I decided to give it a try. Before trying them out I kept seeing that this place uses Halal beef because the owner/manager is Muslim, I did a little investigating and according to my findings this a big deal for an American fast food place to be using Halal beef and great for the Bay Area. Myself and my father came on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 — 2:00 and this place was extremely crowded, the line was almost to the door. Almost every table was filled up, there were tons of workers on the line trying to crank those burgers out but I think that was their downfall. Although they had many people working it really did not help, the line was taking forever. The menu was interesting, they some interesting types of burgers but their prices were a little high for a new burger chain. A double cheeseburger was $ 7.19 while a single cheeseburger was $ 5.49. We both ordered Wayback Classic Cheeseburgers(2 patties), small fries and drinks. The food took about 30 minutes to come out to us, really, that’s entirely too long after we already waited about 20 minutes in line to order our food. The burgers were a huge let down while the patties were juicy and handmade they were extremely bland and tasteless, they were lacking seasoning and any type of flavor. No type of sauce or condiment could have helped save this burger at all. The fries were ok nothing spectacular, I did ask for their special Wayback gold sauce to dip my fries in but they failed to put it in the bag but they sure did charge me for it. The only thing I do regret is not ordering a shake because they are hand dipped. I probably won’t be going back to this place any time soon if ever because I was just not impressed with the meal.

First of all, welcome to NorCal, Wayback Burgers! I hope you enjoy it here. Yay! It’s Halal! I’m so happy I can bring my friends here who have dietary restrictions. :) Location: Near the entrance to 880 off of Dixon Landing Road. It shares a location next to that drive-through Starbucks. Parking: Came in during their grand opening lunch rush and was able to find a spot pretty easily. Line: Not too bad. Waited in line for 5 minutes and ordered. I think the cashier was the owner of this place. He was really friendly. Wait time: 5 minutes for our Oreo mud pie shake and 10 more minutes for the burgers. Seating: Plenty of tables everywhere. Service: They were really friendly and observant. For, dine in, they take your name and hunt you down by calling your name. After you’re done, you bus the table yourself and put the metal baskets on top of the garbage can. Price: I think the prices are comparable to Smash Burger(A little pricier).($ 7.19 for your standard double patty burger, $ 4.79 for a single, $ 8.99 for a triple) Signature burgers range from $ 7.59−8.99). They also have a triple triple burger for $ 18.99 and it’s 9 patties and 9 slices of cheese! Whoa! Signature sides(chili cheese fries, Irish nachos, chicken tenders, and onion rings) range from $ 4.99– $ 5.99. Regular french fries are $ 2.29 for a half portion, 3.49 for a full. Extra dipping sauces are $ 0.50 each Food: — Oreo Mud Pie shake: Amazing. Comes served in a stainless steel milkshake cup. Thick but not too thick that you hurt yourself trying to drink it through your straw. Good consistency. Probably will be my go-to milkshake. — Wayback Classic. Double patties and nothing too fancy. Yum. The patty was nice and juicy. I think they hand-form the patties too. The patty was obviously the hero of the meal, which is how it should be. — Southwest Chipotle Burger. They gave me a ton of jalapenos! I’m not complaining though. A little too much sauce though. It was nice and tasty. The bun however, is pretty normal. but it didn’t disintegrate-which is nice. — Regular fries: Natural cut fries. I am a fan. It was nice and crispy and not greasy at all. — Onion rings; Nice and sizable. I forgot to ask for dipping suace though. D’oh! Obviously not beer-battered, but still good! TL;DR: I’ll be back to try more things for sure. Burgers need a little work to look a bit prettier, but it tastes good. Shake is a must-try.
