It was alright. The beef brisket was the dryest I ever tasted. I will only go back for the beer and wings.

a over-sized boring country bar in downtown Milwaukee. The food was horrendous and took forever to come out. The beer was over-priced for generic big brand beer and the place seemed dirty despite it being slow night. Only good thing about this bar is its location in an area where one can quickly find other bars.

Need to preface this by saying that I’ve never, ever been a county music fan per say however I had a great time and there were tons of good vibes at this place. Didn’t make it during the day(to try any of the food) but came at night where it comes alive. Live country music blaring, tons of great scenery, a mechanical bull, inexpensive drinks, and whole bunch of people just having a good time. Country Bar + Live Music and super friendly bartenders(you’ll see what I mean) = good time. That is, if you’re open to listening to country music(when you usually don’t). Speak shout out to Traci/Dagger for the hospitality.

We had the Groupon and came in for lunch. We had tge chicken, brisket, pulled pork, and sausage for our four meats. All were moist and delicious! Sauce was in squeeze bottles on the side. Our sides were mac and cheese, haystack onion rings, and baked beans. Also delicious! With two free beers, this was a great deal. They only serve ribs after 5 so we will have yo come back!

Picked up on a groupon for the sampler platter,(4 meats, 3 sides, corn bread muffins, and 2 beers. We had lunch & took home a ton of extra for later. I was very happy with the meats(except wiings were not included) but the smoked chicken, BBQ ribs, and beef brisket was so tender & awesome. Great sides, coleslaw, onion ring strips, and beans great taste. Corn bread muffins also good! Nice bar, table area, and view of water st.

They couldn’t care less about customer service. We had a group of 20 people near the projector screen for the Wisconsin game. Game was at 630, the bar had a band scheduled to play at 10. Before the game they moved a cart on wheels, with two speakers on it, directly in front of our table blocking the tv. we asked if they could move it over 8 feet so the tv wasnt blocked. The waitress told us the manager said they aren’t allowed to move anything. Really? You can’t move a cart on wheels over 8 feet so you aren’t blocking the screen from your paying customers? Especially when you moved it there right before the game?

The vibe of this place is really cool! Out waitress was nice a little slow on bringing drinks but nice! We were seated upstairs where it was not only a wobbly table with folding chairs but you also can’t order tap bear upstairs! A few people on out party were unhappy about that. I had the Mac and cheese dinner and it wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t say it was good either! I think I would go hang out here again just not sure I would do it for dinner!

The food is great and on Wednesday they have $ 1 burgers, even though you pay per topping like .50 or 1.00. its still good burgers. Mac n cheese is wonderful also. and they have a mechanical bull you can ride… Go with a group of people and ride the bull. Id recommend it.

Great BBQ food and service! I enjoyed their wings, cup of chili and ribs. I wasn’t impressed with their brisket. Next time, I’ll have to experience their other items. The sandwiches appear very tasty as well. Live bands provide great entertainment as well.

A bunch of friends took us here for NYE. It’s your typical college dive bar with a whole lot of trashy people. Since the place is under ‘music venue’ category I have to say the sound system was absolutely horrendous. I didn’t get to try the bull so no comments on that.

This place is pretty cool. I was visiting from Oregon, and heard about the mechanical bull! I rode it twice, the first time was awful and the second time was so much better! It’s a pretty cool bar. I am not the biggest fan of country stuff, but it was fun for what it was! I would return I here!

Decent venue. Good vibe. Probably the saving grace of this joint. Pulled pork was decent with a wide variety of sauces. I also had the side of Mac and cheese– I couldn’t even finish it. More like buttered noodles. Sad, considering I am a Mac and cheese fanatic. My friend had the pulled pork with coleslaw and couldn’t finish it. And he eats about anything… Others in our party had the wings and said they were«good». Our waitress had a poor attitude and was not friendly. Sucks for her tip.

So over this bar, city and county. While fun in college, the bar kicks me out today for standing at the bar with a glass of water and«taking up space» with my water while a bar tender walks on the bar and tries to force liquor down patrons throats. I refuse and have another patron, angry at me for refusing, pours a beer on me and get kicked out. So done with Red Rock, MPD, and Milwaukee county for that matter.

An Sunday afternoon, the bar was almost empty. We had a large from of more then 6 or 7 if i remember correctly. We were sat and given drinks right away. We all ordered our food and there was something on the menu for everyone. We ordered a 4 meat platter, chicken tenders, onion rings, nachos and a chicken breast sandwich. The bill was a little less then 70 bucks i believe. The bull was not available to be ridden by anyone less then 18. My daughter couldnt ride and we pretty bummed. But the food made up for it for sure. We(adults) had some Jack Daniels fire shots(3). There were pretty tasty. I would love to go back to Red Rock during the day before it turns into a bar on Water Street.

If you’re a Country music fan and like going to a place where you can hear that all night long and have a great time and maybe ride a bull, this is the place. The music is awesome(if you’re a Country fan like I am). The drinks are made well. The staff is friendly and very quick — I haven’t had to wait long for a drink. The atmosphere is one of the best. It’s just a very fun place to be

This is an average bar to get a few drinks at before moving on to something more enjoyable. Waitstaff have ranged from good to obviously unhappy with having to deal with customers. Food has been on the low end of edible. I’ve eaten mac and cheese, burgers, and wings here, and have yet to have any distinct memory of taste from any of my meals. They do have a riding bull if you really want to tie one on, but unless you’re there for country music and beer, I’d steer clear.

My wife and I tried this place out last night, as I had gotten a Groupon. Groupon was for a sampler(3 meats, 2 sides, 2 desserts or 2 beers. We got the brisket, ribs, chicken, mac&cheese, fries & beers. Food. 2⁄5. All of the meats were severely overcooked, and really lacked much flavor. The sides had good flavor(especially the fries!), but the noodles on the M&C were super overcooked & mushy. Ambiance. 1.5÷5. Not impressed at all. Live music stage in the back that was just setting up when we left. Service. 3⁄5. Waitress checked on us multiple times even after we had gotten our food, which was much appreciated. All in all, though — we won’t be going back… even with a Groupon.

I’ve had a bookmark to review Red Rock for a while, mostly because I don’t have strong feelings on this place either way. I’ve only really been here on Monday evenings for Quizmaster Trivia — which, based on other reviews, is entirely different than visiting late at night or on the weekends. For instance, service staff generally seems to be fully-clothed on Mondays at 8 pm – other reviews would suggest this is not the case during other times. In my experience, the food is actually pretty good. Personally, I love the mac ‘n’ cheese. Their pulled pork sandwich and burgers are also pretty good. Beer selection is fine — lots of typical domestic options, along with some more specialized brews. For dessert, I admit I’ve indulged a few times in the fried Oreos and fried Pop Tarts. The novelty is worthwhile because those treats are freaking delicious. Prices are pretty comparable to other parts of Water Street, with different specials available each night. Staff are friendly and keep service moving, which is great during events like trivia that last a finite amount of time. In sum, I think Red Rock is pretty decent for a quieter weeknight or for dinner. It sounds like this place is «very Water Street» on weekends — which is why you won’t find me there then. All in all, A-OK.
