Aside from hot bartender there were no women on this side of this odd bar connected to another bar on the other side which is called Dukes. That side had many more people and few women ventured to scooters and from judging and looking at the bro’ crowd I could see why. the dudes in here were both drunk and dumb and rude. The place seemed pretty shabby and the lone bartender was overworked providing fair service. This bar seemed a dump and I didn’t bother with Dukes as it was likely the same

Why are you even thinking of going here? You know better than that. You’re better than that. This bar has both rude staff and skunky beer. Save yourself by not going here.

This is a great place to go if pure looking for cheap drinks and a welcoming atmosphere! The inside is pretty spacious and there are tons of things to do! Three beer pong tables, pop-a-shot, darts, bar dice. The list goes on! And with dollar drinks every day, it makes going out super affordable!

Not from Milwaukee and ended up here on a night out. Fell in love with Ashley the bartender and now I’m wallowing in my sorrows because she never called :(

Easily up there with the Harp as the best bar on water street. Christine is an amazing bartender and always makes sure everyone is having a great time. The drink specials are always better than anywhere else. This place is amazing.

Good drink specials but bartenders always seem to be drunk and pay most attention to their friends. I get that it is a bar but there are people puking in the bathrooms quite a bit here. If I want that I’ll go to Wrigley Field.

This place is super bi-polar. I’ve been here a handfull of times, and each time the crowd is totally different. You’ve got bros playing pong, old people chatting in the corner, sports nuts watching the game. It’s weird. But the drinks are cheap, and except for St Patty’s Day it’s never been too hard to get a table or bar service. I wouldn’t spend my whole night here, but to start off happy hour it’s not too bad.

Doesn’t quite have the ambiance of the adjoining bar Duke’s, nor does it have the holy grail of drinking($ 10 bottomless mug), but it does have aggressive drink specials and that awesome $ 1 happy hour. Scooter’s is a typical Water Street bar to me. It doesn’t have a lot of personality, but it makes up for it with the previously mentioned drink specials. I was just there last night and $ 1 Miller lite, High Life, MGD, or Coors Light bottles is a definite steal. They have free popcorn which is a plus as well. A guy offered me a few bucks to switch tables with him so his girlfriend could use the power outlet on the wall(Don’t mind if I do, thanks for the free beers). Only spent around $ 10 + got reasonably intoxicated = a good night. They got the basic bar setup. A reasonably long bar with maybe 7 or 8 tables to sit at. A beer pong table, pool table, darts, and a few video games are also inside. They have a cover that slides over the pool table that can also become a beer pong table too. This place can get pretty busy and loud on the weekends which makes it difficult to find a place to hangout if you cant get a table. You kind of end up in what I call the«bathroom runway». Where everyone walks over you in their attempt to get to the bathroom right by the bar. With the busyness, comes a long wait to get a drink. I think Scooter’s should have 3 bartenders on those nights instead of just 2. Just takes too damn long. A pretty good bar with KILLER drink specials. If you want quantity over quality, Scooter’s(along with Duke’s) is the place for you.

I’ve been here twice and enjoyed myself each time. They have killer specials each day of the week, advertised boldly inside. A pool table, beer pong, darts, ESPN… this is a bar-bar, as I like to call them, and a chill place to hang with conversation that doesn’t need to be yelled over bad music.

Not being from Milwaukee, I’ve somewhat quickly ascertained that *most* bars in the Water Street area aren’t my normal cup of tea, Scooters being no exception. BUT, I will say their staff was incredibly, almost anomalously nice — even though they were two deep at the bar. And, their happy hour prices seem pretty competitive. I’m huge on treating customers like real people… or at least like you care whether they come back… so this earns this place a third star(though really, I’d prob give it a 2.5 if i could). As for the rest of the place: it’s a somewhat dark, somewhat smokey, rather loud sports bar… with people playing beer pong.

Find the good in any situation, and make your life better as a result. Scooter’s is not my cup of tea. It’s not my cup of Miller Lite, either. Nor is it my cup of generic Red Bull and Jagermister. In fact, there’s really nothing(on a personal) level about this place that I’d enjoy. It’s just not my style.(See also: it’s a Water Street bar) That being said, despite the fact that Scooter’s embodies most everything that I don’t care for in a bar, the staff is fantastic. Fantastic. Hence the two stars. If it weren’t for them, it’d most certainly be one. Maybe one and a half. The manager, bartenders, bar back, door guy… everyone. While they may not be the kind of bar that I would choose to patronize, my experience at Scooter’s was made positive due to the staff’s kindness and attention. They were great. We’re all unique snowflakes. Just because I don’t like something doesn’t mean it’s wrong. While I oftentimes can be picky about the restaurants and bars I frequent, it doesn’t mean that I’m always right. There’s a danger in thinking yourself and your tastes infallible, and while I still don’t like Scooter’s or Water Street as a general rule of thumb, it doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the good things about those places that I may not like. I tip my Irish novelty hat to you, Scooter’s staff.

Scooters Pub is in half of the location that once housed Mel’s on Water. Scotters has the larger section of the old Mel’s(Dukes has the smaller eastern section) and with the larger footprint keeps more of the feel of the old Mel’s. On a Friday or Saturday night you should expect a large crowd, a smoky bar, crowded billiards tables and if you’re lucky an open table/booth to sit at. Scooters tends to run aggressive happy hour specials and normally has an item or to for around $ 1 during the week.
