I was down in the Minden area for an appointment and I was a bit early, so I had some time to kill. What better way than to sip coffee and surf the Unilocal in Starbucks to kill a little time. I saw this Starbucks, but by the time I saw it the turn in off the highway was past me, so do a U-turn and turns out you need to go in the driveway way to the north of where the building is. Very confusing if you haven’t been here before and are driving by. The Starbucks is located way in the back of this weird little parking lot, past the Dairy Queen. OK, I find it and park. The inside is smaller than most Starbucks it seems like. The seating area is not all that big, but it’s not crowded, so seating is easy. It’s the same old Starbucks hard ass chairs they all have. I think that’s so you don’t sit here for too long! I order just fine, just simple house coffee and room for cream. I do wish they’d switch the house blend from that Pike’s coffee. The Wifi works fine and I can surf easy. This is just an OK, location, the layout is just one bug square with tables on one side and the coffee bar on the other. Oh, yeah, if you happen to come like I did, right after the local high school lets out, you’ll be flooded by high schoolers in the whole place all loud and girls giggling and the boys being there just cause that’s where the girls wanna be. Good thing I left soon after they all flooded in.

Are all Starbucks the same? No, they all have a unique personality, and this one is no exception. Beyond that, it’s very near where I spend an awful lot of time. I’ve checked in here 82 times, and the great choices and friendly smiles keep me coming back. No, not all Starbucks are the same.

Bad attitude from the manager, after I had to ask for the manager due to the Counter girls horrible attitude. Go anywhere else, they will appreciate your business. These people are COFFEENAZIS!

Customer service was good when my rewards cards rang up as having no free drink. But after leaving I noticed my drink tasted wrong. The sticker on my drink had the right drink name(white mocha soy). I’m just hoping it still soy because of my son’s milk allergy.(I breastfeed). We have a hard enough time as is without other people screwing up our orders.

Long waits in the drive thru with a modest 90% chance they get your order right and/or serve your drink at the appropriate temperature. Inconsistent service and unapologetic when a drink is returned for any reason. Sometimes nice, sometimes rude. Take your chances at Minden’s finest coffee house!

Probably the WORST Starbucks that we have ever been too. Not only did it take 10 minutes to get to the window, but another 4 to get our drinks. This has happened on 3 separate occasions. Being from northern California we have experienced a lot of Starbucks. All have great service and coffee, drinks. This one is always understaffed, the manager is rude, and drinks are never… NEVERCONSISTENT. Please either clean house and staff appropriately or close this location down! Gardnerville puts this Starbucks to shame

This review is very late and far overdue. About a month ago I went in and ordered a sugar free pumpkin spice latte. I did not know that starbucks doesn’t carry the pumpkin spice syrup in sugar free. The lady at the register looked at me like I was an idiot and asked me what sugar free pumpkin syrup was. I told her I thought I had gotten it at another starbucks. The cashier made it very clear to me that she was the manager and sugar free didn’t exist. Then she asked me what starbucks I had got the sugar free from and what the cashiers name was(of course I didn’t recall). Then the manager got really loud and almost acted excited that she was proving me wrong. I felt so uncomfortable and even a little belittled by her response. All she had to do was say«sorry miss we don’t carry sugar free yet, but perhaps soon we will.» That’s it, instead she was rude and offensive.

During this Holiday stay in Genoa, I’ve done the Tour de Starbucks. That includes the one in North Carson City, Gardnerville, and now Minden. Gayle and I have been to the Minden Outpost before, which is traffic-wise hidden behind the DQ next door. We came in today to catch a Wi-Fi signal related to my Son’s Homework assignment, to get some decent coffee, and to buy a NY Times and WSJ for later guest reading. This is an «A-OK» Starbucks that is a bit on the small side, both in terms of space and comfortable places to sit. This time around, the Locals sightings and overheard conversations were interesting and worth some extra time to hang around a bit longer.

Starbucks is Starbucks and I struggle to understand how they became so popular. I have been to this one once only to meet my aunt she picked the place and I brought in my own coffee from home. She got a chai which I tried and I regretted, tasted as I remembered, grossly over sugared. Don’t even mention the burnt motor oil they call coffee. Forget about it. There are great selections of small non-food chain coffee shops in town.

Customer service is unpredictable at best. Some days they are nice, attentive, competent. Other days they can be exceptionally rude, dismissive, condescending to customers [at worst]. Good internet [free]. Good drinks and foods, except they RUNOUTOF the protein boxes and some sandwiches before my lunch break daily. So if I want something I have to buy it at 8:00am. I wish they kept enough food there so that I could get it at my lunch. I love the tea here and the selection of products :)

The lady with the crazy hair didn’t smile, say please, or thank you. What a singularly unpleasant transaction. Unless you enjoy abuse, avoid this Starbucks. Go to Coffee on Main or – a few miles down the road – the Gardnerville Starbucks.

Starbucks is Starbucks and that is why I like it. The products are familiar and customizable. I drive by this one almost daily the layout is nice as is their patio area. The employees have always been friendly even if a few of them are a little off. My order has never been messed up at this location.

This is probably the worst starbucks I have ever been to or encountered. The employees are rude, they never get orders right and they take forever. Complaining to the manager has never helped. One time I went there with an order, the older red haired lady didnt get ANY of my order right and when I called her on it, all she did was stare at me. I was there for over 20 minutes just to get two drinks made correctly. Go to the Gardnerville Starbucks or the one by Panda Express, this one needs a complete do over.

Been here a few dozen times, and the employees are a bit«off». A lot of horsing around and totally ignoring the customers. Waited for 5 minutes at the drive-thru for someone to take my order and there was no one ahead of me! As the kid took my order. he was laughing at something going on inside the store. Very strange kids working here! I’ll head to Coffee on Main for now on!

I hope my little review can provide a different perspective for anyone considering this particular Starbucks. I’ve never encountered any weird behavior here, in fact the employees have always been extremely nice to me and my children: there are a couple employees who address me by name when I walk in, I have been offered complimentary items from the pastry case from time to time, and transactions have never been less than pleasant. The employees seem to like each other and their customers and always seem to be enjoying their job. The interior is roomy and pleasant, and there is a great outdoor seating area that is shaded and cool during the hot Carson Valley summers. There’s at least one table inside that is situated next to an electrical outlet if your laptop is dying. (The only problem I’ve ever had here is several times in the past they have run out of soy milk, but that hasn’t happened in a long time.) Love this place and my family and I will continue to stop here for our Starbucks fix.

I have found that the coffee is consistently bad at this Starbucks. Also, the inside is incredibly cold, so bring a coat. I agree that the general vibe here is quite strange.

Martin’s review is right on as far as my experience as well. I was sort of surprised myself by the weird behavior of the employees working here. I came here to order my usual drink sweetened iced green tea. When I entered, I immediately saw an older white haired woman working behind the counter cleaning. There was also a young man working the drive-thru with a headset. I approached the register and was ignored for a good 3 minutes. I was looked at but no smile, no «hello», no «hold on a second, I will be right there with you». But what bothered me the most about this experience was the major flirting going on between a young man who is probably 17 and a woman well over 55. This young man proceeded to poke and play with this older woman and give her kissy faces.(OMG please stop… sooooo gross!!) Finally the old lady helped me and the young man made my drink and I was on my way. Strange behavior at this location… Minden is a quiet boring town but it doesn’t excuse this behavior. Creeeeepy! Oh and if you come here, your drink will cost more. My drink was 13 cents more then what I pay at home in the Bay Area. It probably cost more to deliver to this location since its out in the middle of nowhere… so bring extra change with you when you order.
