For years I was hovering around a 4 – 6 handicap despite lessons and practicing til I had blisters. Last spring I finally decided to get custom fit for new clubs. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner! Within 3 months I lowered my handicap to scratch. I didn’t think I could enjoy golf any more than I did before getting fit but it has made a world of difference.
I worked with Thomas Elsberry at the Minneapolis location and did the Tour Van fitting process.
Bottom line: If you are serious about improving your game, properly custom fit clubs can make a huge difference and 2^nd Swing is the BEST place I’ve found in the Minnesota area.
P. S. I had «quickie» fittings from manufacturer reps and at local retail stores but none were able to nail the head/shaft combos that 2^nd Swing did and it’s made a HUGE difference.

I bought a Ping Rapture V2 driver ($ 129.00) from them online. The price was fair but driver came in with Pink paint on the shaft and on the bottom of the club head. It looks like the previous owner had tried to detail his club with a pink marker. The only problem I have with this is that the actual photos that where shown online did not show any of the pink paint. I was able to rub off all the pink with paint remover but it took me 30 minutes to complete the task. If I had seen the pink in a photo I most likely would not have purchased the driver as I would not have known if it would have come off. My comment is that if they have a club with not original materials on it, they should show you in the photos. I learned a very valuable lesson from this. Bottom line is the club works fine.

I don’t have a problem with what they offered when I traded my clubs in through their website, but when I got the check it was about 10% less than their offer. Not a big deal in terms of actual dollars as it wasn’t a huge transaction, but clearly their business ethics are not what they should be.
Won’t be doing business with them again.

I dealt with 2^nd Swing through their website
. Their selection for me as a left handed golfer was decent and their prices were very competitive.
I was on the search for a new 3 wood and in particular an R11. I found one in 9.5 mint condition (under the used clubs sector). It is very reassuring when buying a 2^nd hand club that all the pictures ARE NOT STOCK PHOTOS though rather the actual photo of the club your looking to purchase and you are able to zoom… very important when searching for a 2^nd hand club.
The club was $ 154, so shipping was included, only disappointment was that no head cover or Taylor Made adjustment tool was included. I was called the day of placing the order and was able to get these thrown in for only $ 9.99 extra (approx $ 40 value).
When the club came, it was packed well and my 9.5 mint condition 3 wood, was still in plastic, never been hit, BRAND NEW!!! I couldn’t be happier and will most defiantly use 2^nd Swing again!!!
Check it out people, a somewhat untapped golfing gold mine!!!

I admit I made a bit of an impulse buy here in getting new clubs for myself. The guys here were helpful in getting me set up, sized, and swinging.
Unfortunately, it felt a bit rushed and when I checked out the prices for my used clubs online… well, let’s just say I GREATLY overpaid at 2^nd Swing’s retail store on Hennepin.
I’ve since learned the wonders of eBay, used swaps, and even talking with golf pro shops at your favorite courses. It’s likely a better way to go for prices.

Talk to your local on course Pro Shop and you’ll do just as well or better. As for trading in used clubs, my experience has been that they’ve offered me very little for name brand clubs in very nice condition — to the point that I simply made a donation to the Goodwill and took the write off on my taxes. Just not my kind of place.

I don’t golf or know much about golf but there is this fellow I have spawned that is a golf fanatic (36 holes a day, three days a week). We visited this store. They were friendly and knowledgeable and the prices seemed reasonable.
I have no doubt we will be in this store again.
