As reflected in many reviews, the drinks are obviously watered down — if containing alcohol at all. And the bartender was extremely rude.

Was told a delivery would take 20 minutes. After more than 1 hour and 30 minutes and four phone calls, we still had not received the food. The person on the phone kept saying it was five minutes away, so we finally cancelled after over an hour and a half. Not bad food, but extremely poor service.

Oh Burrito Loco Bar & Grill, why, really, why do I keep coming back? Mostly because you are very close to Pagoda, and I am in love with your flip for a drink special on Sundays/Mondays.(this is a super fun«game» where you call heads or tails on a coin flip. And if you win, you get your drink for free) And, you have other great qualities still! Tucked in the back on the 2nd floor, there is a small dart board! And who doesn’t love darts?! There are also two beer pong tables — but beware playing on a Friday or Saturday night! It can get super busy and you will lose your ping pong balls for sure as they get roll around the sticky floor, weaving and hiding between people’s legs and feet before finally landing in a dark corner where it becomes invisible in the dim lighting. And by the time you actually hunt down the ball. it’s very gross and nobody wants to touch it except the most ardent, hard core beer pongist. Unfortunately, I haven’t really had the food. I vaguely recall eating a spicy wing, and stealing a few bites from a friend’s burrito. It was okay. But here is what really wins me over: 1) The atmosphere. It feels relaxed and casual. and fun. 2) Service. The bartenders are efficient — I’ve never had to wait more than 2 minutes to get service. 3) Price. Drinks are cheap — they have drink specials almost every night 4) Late night kitchen — there’s late night food for your drunk(er) friends 5) Darts :)

Came here after a Vikings game! Waitress was super friendly and attentive. I shared an appetizer of nachos which was extremely good and then had my own pork burrito that in terms of taste gives qdoba a run for its money in dinkytown. Meal came out a little slow but thats to be expected after a vikings game. overall satisfied and will come back!

The service is an absolute joke… Came here on a Sunday and the server was absolutely horrible. Worst service ever at an establishment in my life. The food was also cold, and the beer warm.(Probably because she took literally 25 minutes to bring us our beers) Take your business elsewhere!!!

HUBBY and I were in the mood for a night out in STINKYTOWN so we brought our DOG here for a game of LOBSTERGRAB and EXTRABIGASS B’RITOFRIES! We were FARTING and FITTINGIN with the other diners before long! Rest assured, the COLLEGEDIAPER smell is from the customers, NOT the kitchen!

Food was great. The system of serving they use is just like Chipotle. The food taste like food from a real Mexican food.

After a bit of a party visit to the Varsity Theater — it was time to grab something substantial to eat. Burrito Loco had been recommended by some locals. I ordered a custom Nachos — extra ground beef, extra con queso sauce, with fresh chopped jalapeños, lettuce, black beans, guacamole, sour cream, and their extra, extra hot Habanero sauce! Totally hit the spot! Yummy!!!

Sunday is normally my favorite day at this bar. but tonight the bar tender treated me like shit! It’s flip coin on Sundays and we got every drink right and she cut us off and kicked us out because of it. So long story short don’t go there if your a female. cause she will cut you off for no reason!

Just sat down for at least fifteen minutes with a group of three watching EVERY table around us getting served only to be completely ignored by three different servers. I had been here once before with no problems. Granted, we were upstairs and getting drinks from the bar ourselves but this was very frustrating. None of us had ever sat down at a restaurant/bar & grill and not been served before. Very off-putting and very disappointing experience.

The food was pretty decent, but what enhanced our experience tenfold was the service. The specials are incredible($ 3.50 for a drink and a chimichanga, $.39 wings, etc.) and I have rarely had better service. Brittney, our server, was inviting, friendly, and very helpful. She answered any questions we had about the food, offered suggestions, and even gave us guac for free. If every server was a little more like Brittney, it would be impossible to have a negative restaurant experience.

5 years later and I still have dreams of this place. I lived off of their burritos when I was in college. It was a short drive from my college when they had their location in uptown. It was so good that when family from out of town would come visit we would all hit up burrito loco for make ur own burritos and it would be enough food for even the largest of eaters. For me 1 burrito would last two meals. I wish they had chains! I no longer live in the area and your Moe’s or Chipolte are no way as good!

mmmm its 2 am and craving Chipotle burrito but they are closed grrrr!!! Might as well get the knock off version Burrito Loco! Love this place cheap. If the bar line is open I get my bowl! Buffalo chicken rice pinto beans pico de gallo seasoned sour cream cheese lettuce plus they give you chips and salsa on the side. Great Tex Mex place when you have the munchies late at night. They have selections of great taps too the only thing because I do come only on after hours the music is banging to the point I cant hear myself think but it is the U of M territory so what do I expect!

My opinion about this place is quite divided. I went there to have a drink with a friend. Loved the drink, loved the ambiance. Good times. Then I went another day to eat a burrito with a friend, and honestly, it was just average. I am a big Chipotle fan so as far as burritos are concerned, I guess I will stick with that for the time being.

Great food. Great drink specials. It can get pretty busy from time to time, but is definitely a more conversational college bar, if there really is one to begin with. Free popcorn and every once in a while there is a lobster claw game that’s a dollar per play. If you want to see an entire bar focus on something other than a TV screen at any point in your life, this is your opportunity. This is typically the location that is at the start of the«Dinkytown Loop», so most people show up around 10pm and take off by 11:30p or midnight. The one drawback that the bar has is mediocre service, especially from the bar staff.

Amazing Specials every single day of the week! Burrito loco is a small local mexican restaurant in Dinkytown located on the U of M campus. The downstairs reminds me of your standard Chipotle restaurant but much less modern. featuring build your own burritos. They also have tacos, and other mexican themed specialty items on the menu. Their burritos are large, and taste pretty good. However, I don’t think they top Chipotle. Crammed upstairs is a full bar complete with TVs, beer pong tables, arcade games, darts, free popcorn, and full service. This is what brings me in so often, not so much the burritos. It’s a very popular bar for U of M students and can fill up every night of the week with college students due to all of their daily food and drink specials. One of my favorite specials is Monday which is buy a mug of beer and get a free chimichanga. Their chimichangas are essentially deep fried burritos slathered in some delicious, mouth-watering, mexican sauce. They are humongous and taste amazing. That along with a full mug of beer make it pretty hard to stick with beer for the rest of the night with a bursting belly. Luckily Monday is flip-for-drinks night. Both Monday’s & Sunday’s are my favorite nights to go as they feature the flip-for-drinks special. You can order anything from behind the bar and flip a coin for a free drink. If you make the right call, the drink is on the house, otherwise you pay full price. You can flip for almost every drink they make from their cheapest tap beer to top shelf liquors, even margaritas and long island ice teas! You can’t flip for pitchers, or fish bowls though. Great spot to go if you’re looking for some great specials. If you are in the mood for just the food, they also offer delivery if you live in the area!

Food was fine. Staff seemed overwhelmed and confused. I wasn’t here for Happy Hour, but the deals look crazy! Typical college bar, but as someone not in college it’s a bit frustrating.

2 for 1 beers on Saturday night, what a deal! The burritos are big a full of good stuff, but the chips were pretty stale. That was the only real bummer! Good selection of local and national beers, cheap margaritas, and it a killer location in Dinky Town. Found parking right outside even on a Saturday night before a b-ball game! Staff was super nice and the restrooms were super clean. I dug it and would go back, but would hope they improve the chips and salsa a bit!

This review is not as accurate as it could be because we only got drinks… The Loco is a college bar. End of story. Loads of carbs. 2−4−1 beer specials. Trivia that blasts the ear drum. Bouncers who wear ear pieces. I was a little out of place given the fact that I am no longer in my early twenties, but they do what they do very well. The crowd was fun and energetic. The people doing trivia upstairs seemed to be having a great time. And they didn’t mind a couple of old fuddy duddys sitting at one of the side tables.

I am terribly picky when it comes to my meat and portion size of things and burritos are always a very scary food item for me; eating blindly past the tortilla. I had heard that Burrito Loco was a natural and local spin off to Chipotle so if you liked big burritos and good drink specials then you’d be a fan. The rumors were true. It was a dark and dreary Minnesota fall day and I wanted something I didn’t have to cook so I figured I would try the burrito delivery(which took an amazing 16 minutes!) The burritos were in fact HUGE like the major chains but were successfully wrapped and no spill! The innards were tasty, fresh, hot and just as they should be(though it could always use more cheese) and the mild sauce was nice and … mild. The chips were average chips but they did come free with my order and free is always nice. Nothing awesome or amazing, just good and tasty and two burritos only cost $ 14.56 total so I guess I’m a fan!

What can I say? This place is a such a staple for that week day drink special! They have a great wing special on Wedesdays and of course, the biggest burritos in the world. The downstairs is not 21+ but if you want to go upstairs it is. They have Karaōke which is super fun and free popcorn! Basically, a great place to be with friends and it is a college bar, don’t expect cleanliness or anything like that. Prices are good and most of the waitresses are pretty awesome. If you go in for your birthday, they will even give you 3 free drinks. A college staple and I will def be visiting again!
