Delicious and cheap tacos. I love the chicken tacos and shrimp tacos as well as chips and cheese and guacamole. You can also ask for refills on chips if you sit down to eat. Service is always friendly and quick. One of my favorite places in Minneapolis.

I love this place, me and my husband ordered from this for the first time tonight and we each got three tacos. My husband got three brisket taco he devored them so they were good. i got three different tacos(brisket taco, rusty taco, and beef fajita) I love brisket, so putting it in a taco wonderful. The rusty taco had great taste in every bite and adding the lime juice to the taco was enhancing, I loved the beef fajita it was not spice at all. We also ordered chips and guacamole. The chips weren’t to salty and the guacamole was fresh and you could tasted every ingredient. Love this place

Great taco restaurant in Northeast Minneapolis. I recommend the #10(Fried Chicken) and #11(Pull Barbeque Pork). The chips and guagamole are also excellent. Can’t beat the price and quality of these tacos.

The nachos are a complete ripoff don’t order them unless you wanna pay $ 6 for chips and a pile of cheese on top of tomatoes

Stumbled at the door step of this restaurant when i took the wrong bus and got lost. I asked the cashier what she recommended. She told me what the customers’ favorite was(fried chicken taco), and her favorites. She was really helpful and friendly. I decided to get the fried chicken taco, roasted pork taco, fish taco, and a side of chips with guac dip. As I grabbed my food, the cashier made sure I grabbed some hot sauce. She recommend their habanero sauce. The fried chicken taco and roasted pork taco was really good. Compacted with a good amount of flavor. I wasn’t feeling the fish taco. It lacked flavor, and had an unattractive fish aroma. The hot sauce brought a good heat to the tacos. The chips and guac dip was okay, nothing special. Overall, Rusty Tacos is a good place to eat at. Great environment, along with great service. The food may vary based on what you prefer. It might have been destiny that I stumbled upon here.

I really like the food, staff, and atmosphere at Rusty Taco — my only suggestion is they work to make it a bit cleaner in the dining area. I don’t doubt that the kitchen is clean, but it would help if they wiped down tables and chairs more often.

Excellent tacos! Highly recommend the baja shrimp taco. Casual dining experience… feels like a step up from a fast food restaurant(definitely healthier!) but a step down from a restaurant. Most authentic Mexican food I’ve had in Minneapolis so far!

Excellent tacos once again. Ordered 2 chorizo, egg and cheese and 1 #5 Brisket taco with onions and cheese =$ 8. Great deal for the amount of food. Love I can eat breakfast tacos for dinner. See you soon.

I like this place and come here about every other month. Cool vibe, quick service, good music, nice crowd. I’m enrolled in the Five Stars rewards program and got a free beer with my dinner tonight. Nice. The last couple times I’ve been here, the quality of food seems to have gone down little — hopefully I just hit off nights. My favorite taco is the #10 Fried Chicken Taco. Tonight, they were cold and dry(same as last visit). Might be time to seek out a new fav!!! I love the chicken nachos with queso cheese and black beans. Tonight’s came out with chorizo instead of chicken. I decided to keep it — was still ok, but chicken is better. Overall, still a fun spot to eat and have a beer.

Everything was really fresh. You order at the counter and the kitchen is open, which is always a plus. Great beer on draft and the salsa and queso were on point.

Good Tacos for the Midwest. My wife and I are from Austin, TX. So we have high standards for Tacos. If we compare these tacos to other tacos we’ve had from the Midwest, then they might have gotten 5 stars. But, having the infamous Torchy’s Tacos from Austin, TX as our standard for a good taco restaurant, Rusty’s should get 3 stars. We settled with 4 stars since we are in the midwest, but they aren’t as great as tacos can get. My wife had the #5. She enjoyed it for the most part. The brisket was dry – but again, we’re from Texas, so even for brisket we have high standards. She always got«The Democrat» at Torchy’s, and the #5 seemed the closest. She would probably get it again. I got a #1 and #5. I agree with my wife about the number 5 that the brisket was too dry for brisket. The #1 was good, but I probably wouldn’t get it again – I would try something new. The chips and guac were a good price. The guac had good flavor, but we didn’t like that there were random tomatoes in it – who puts tomatoes in their guac? No one from Austin, TX does that. We will probably get the guac again, which is awesome because my wife is picky about her guacamole. The salsa was good too, but not the best i’ve ever had. We’ll be back, hopefully with a more open mind and not comparing every bite to the delicious Torchy’s Tacos( ). Oh! We loved that they had parking since parking is hard to get for free in this part of town.

Rusty Taco NEVER disappoints, unless you don’t like cilantro. then you might have some issues! It’s a casual sit-down and take-out spot for modern tacos. My personal favorites are the Baja Shrimp taco, the Rusty Taco, the Fried Chicken Taco, and the BBQ Brisket Taco. The meats are all well seasoned and cooked to perfection, and their pineapple salsa in the Rusty Taco is not to be missed. They are very good at creating their own sauces and salsas. Everything is extremely flavorful and their«crazy-hot» salsa definitely has a habanero kick, though I’d kick it up a bit more if I were them. However, I do feel their quality has declined slightly in the last couple years, maybe I’ve been going at bad times. Other than that, it’s a very solid choice in Northeast.

I am a sucker for Mexican food. I love tacos. I love corn tortillas. I love guac. I love fried chicken and shrimp too. So, I like this place a lot. It’s not authentic Mexican nor is it a formal restaurant. It’s a «get food and go» place. The food hits the spot. Somewhat light(depending on what you order) and all parts delicious. I’ve been to the St. Paul location and the NE location. I prefer the NE location(more room, better service, easier parking), but Rusty Taco is always good. The food truck also delivers a punch at lunch time on the streets or at food festivals. I’m a sucker for the fried chicken taco, the fried shrimp taco, and the guac. Those three are my go-tos here. So good. It’s not a typical dining experience. This is informal, so I would compare to a Chipotle like dining experience. But tastier? :)

First time here and visiting from out of town. I ordered two tacos and nachos. The tacos were cold all around from the cold corn tortilla and the cold meat. Hopefully I do not get sick. The nachos I just opened up and guess what: ITSALLCOLD. The hot sauce, is good(habanero).

Taco truck at Mpls Auto Show. $ 8 for two tiny, unremarkable tacos. Rip off. Tortilla was not good. Pico was saving grace. First and last experience with Rusty Taco.

Boring, mostly flavorless taco from the truck at the auto show. Edible, but if you like spice or flavor in your food, skip it.

Rusty taco is a great quick meal spot. My boy is obsessed with it, primarily because he doesn’t like the food I eat and I live within 5 minutes walking distance. I’m happy there are 2 vegetarian options and 2 seafood options. I love love the mushroom one, I don’t know what it is, but it is super freaking good. The boy who has tried more of the menu loves both the BBQ Pork and Fried Chicken. I think it is great that there is a fair amount of toppings and the lime always gives it some extra umph. I only wish that two corn tortillas were used and this is for two reasons. Some of the tacos make the corn tortilla really slimly and it breaks apart easily. To prevent this you have to eat it as fast as possible, which granted they are small and this is easy to do, but I like to eat slower, probably more my problem than others. Anyways, it would be slightly more filling and worth the price. Corn tortillas are not expensive and I can get cheaper tacos at authentic places for cheaper and they have 2 corn. That being said, the tacos here are really good as previously stated, obviously given by the four stars! All the hot sauces are great, especially the actually spicy one, it really ramps up the taco. I love hot sauces and when one is spicy enough I always gotta give a shout out. This one also has a great taste on top of the spice. Definitely a cheap go to.

This place reminds me of being in Southern California and I love it. They have a large garage door that acts as a window and can be opened when the weather is nice. Most of the tacos are $ 2.50 with a couple being $ 3.00. We split 5 tacos for two people and it was the perfect amount. The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual, you order at the counter then pick up your food. Our ranking of tacos(best to worst): Fried Chicken, BBQ Pork, Shrimp, Brisket, pulled pork. The margarita was okay and was relatively inexpensive($ 4) but it did have a lot of ice in the cup so you get what you pay for. If you want a little escape to someplace warmer this can be a good option.

Not sure how long this restaurant has been around, but I have been dying to try it out. Today was the day –when I drove by with an empty belly! The guy at the counter was pretty helpful will pointing out the favorites and what to pair them with. He stated most people order 2 – 3 tacos and a side. The chalkboard menu and descriptions are all up on the wall to see. At $ 2 – 3 per taco, this cheap meals deserves to add on a local brew as well. I put in an order for #12 black bean, #8 Baja shrimp tacos with a side of chips & guacamole. The tacos were good, but just missing a little something, so be sure to put on the habanero sauce and house salsa! The #12 was tasty, but completely fell apart after my first bite. So, I decided to ditch the tortilla and eat the mixture with my chips and guacamole. The guacamoles was a pretty heaping serving for $ 0.75. The space was bright, clean, colorful and conducive for a meal on your own or groups. I will definitely be back since a decent, quick meal for a reasonable price is hard to come by these days. Also, if you are a deal saver like me, be sure to register for the Rusty Taco Rewards program. You get deals and bonuses just for eating!
