Just stopped in passing through. The sake Bloody Mary was good and the bartender was nice! I didn’t have any food but I would try it sometime. It also seemed new and clean and nice. An owner type guy came and asked me how everything was which I thought was nice.

Ordered a cheese pizza and received a cheese pizza. Had a LOT of sauce and little cheese. Good taste after I removed excess sauce. Would probably still recommend.

I’ve been going here for over 25 years, and since they moved into the building across the street from the old location, it’s gotten more popular, which sometimes increases the wait time, but it’s worth it. Just your good old style midwest pizza fresh and tasty.

Tasty pizza, but the place smells like… cleaning products? Carbones has what you’d call ‘North American’ style thin crust pizza. Lots of cheese, lots of toppings, nothing fancy, but satisfying and tasty. It’s also cut in to squares, which seems to be a midwest thing. I’ve eaten here a number of times and done takeout as well, and the pizza has always been enjoyable. I’d probably give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the smell in the place. The restaurant looks inviting, but as soon as you walk in you’re hit by the smell, not of pizza, but of… dirty dish water? Bleach? Something that is not food, and seems more like cleaning products. It makes me not want to be in the restaurant, so I’ve started doing takeout(when we can’t sit on the patio in the summer). Still enjoy the pizza, but they have to fix the smell issue inside.

We were new to the neighborhood and wanted some delivery and despite the lackluster reviews we decided to give it a try. We’re glad we did cause it was delicious! The thin crust was crispy upon delivery and the cheese was perfectly browned. Im in love with their hawaiian pizza. YUM

I’ve been to Carbone’s in Farmington MN and the pizza so reminded me of upstate NY where I’m from but here, the tortellini Alfredo — you can tell the veggies were frozen and the cheese sauce was made from a can. I’m not even being tough on them. It’s a great looking restaurant and bar. Right next to the golf course. The tenders are gorgeous and are good but the tortellini was –1 and disappointing to the point where I had to tell them. The antipasto was good but not fully Italian. Guess you can never beat home town NY Italian.

I’ve also had horrible experiences with their manager and owners during delivery. They messed up our order, when we called about it they were extremely rude and accused us of making a mistake. We asked for them to send the correct item and they refused because they were«too busy». Nobody apologized or made any attempt to help the situation, they seemed to prefer to get aggressive rather than try to help. Stay away if you want good customer service in the event of an issue, they could care less. They also like to delete any complaints about this type of behavior, I’ve seen many reports of similar situations where the owner and manager treat customers horribly but they seem to disappear after a while. Don’t worry though, the owner and manager are«comfortable with how they handle complaints».

Had to lower the rating after that microwaved Ziti thing they tried to pull off and charge $ 11 for.

My kids and I love coming to Carbones. The servers at the new location(which is absolutely beautiful, by the way) are SO fantastic with kids. They are funny, they engage my kids, and are just plain nice.

The tiny buff older bald server is amazing! The bounce in his step and friendly service is well worth the tip. I would definitely return. Great food!

I have been here a ton, and realized I have not yet written a review. I checked out the other reviews and frankly I am **SHOCKED** at those mediocre reviews.(And a one star review due to a typo on the menu, but then they STILL gave you the good deal? WEAK.) ANYWAY. Pizza. Always awesome. Very very good. GF options. And I recently heard the chicken is some of the best in the city. Need to try that next time. Sandwiches, all of it. Lots of choices. Beer. Local taps and tall boys and pitchers and happy hours and patios! Yes! AND, they moved across the street from the quaint old place to a newly remodeled place, about 40,000% bigger(that’s an estimate). Better parking lot. Bigger dining room. Bar space with six large TVs, garage door thing opening out to the patio. Great ambiance. And yep, with the huge expansion, they did hire a bunch of new people, so they had a few kinks to work out, but I think that is behind us and they are doing awesome. Really glad to have this place in our ‘hood. Check it out.

Love, love, love, Carbones!!! The new location is amazing. Sometimes it’s a long wait to get in. But it is completely worth the wait ! This is my favorite home town pizza ;) also voted one of the«best pizza» in mpls St. Paul magazine. They are very family oriented, as is evident at any holiday! They care about there neighbors and clients and I love to go there. I feel like I am home. Love the new salad choices. Excited to use the new patio. Cheers!!!

We came here to unwind after a game, saw a fantastic deal on their beer menu and bought 6 pitchers(BOGO) for $ 10 a piece on their menu. When we got our checks, it said $ 20. We asked the manager and he said it was a typo on the menu and didn’t want to comp us stating that the BOGO should have been a good enough deal. When he did finally comp us(20 minutes of waiting and an awkward convo later) he didn’t adjust the tax… Your menus are your responsibility. That said… our server was AWESOME. Carbones, you probably just lost hundreds of $$ worth of business — it’s a long softball season and we were thirsty.

I went here with some friends a little later at night. The happy hour was decent. Cheap apps and slices of pizza. Both were decent and satisfying. We had the pizza fries which I really liked. Cheese pizza was your regular thin crust melt-y goodness. It took a long time for us to get our drinks. So long that we had to remind our waitress. My partner has been here before and said she’s always bad. Disappointing. Atmosphere seemed ok and they recently moved so it’s an updated place.

I received some of the worst customer service from the Owner himself. We have only ordered from this location twice and have been overcharged both times. I was told that they could only put a credit on my account to be applied for my next order. I told the owner that I don’t want to order from them again and I want my card refunded. He told me that maybe he doesn’t want to credit my account. There were obviously more words exchanged and he finally told me that he would refund my card and that I need to trust him because he’s the owner. This place gets one star because the pizza is good — kudos to the cooks.

Very generic neighborhood joint. Decent Italianish comfort food. Not a lot of flavor in the sauce. New location looks a lot better. Fair prices. It seems like somewhere that pld people would eat. Nothing wrong with it and cheap but prett flavorless and unexciting.

I love this place and the new digs is even better with added items on the menu. I go here a lot with friends and family because it is quiet and get service right away. with the new digs I noticed it the place is packed it is harder to hear but I love the staff and food and I have been going here for 10 years. My favorite is the malts and chicken. I hope they add more desserts now and my favorite server is a gal — Shaun I think it’s spelled that way … — deb

I called and asked the nice man who answered if they deliver to 34th and Bloomington, he said they did. So I ordered. It came to 24 bucks for a large pizza. He confirmed my address and then said, «I’m sorry my driver just said he only delivers to 35th and Bloomington.» I thought he was joking, as I am literally three houses down from 35th. He said he was sorry and asked if I’d like to pick it up. I’m a bit baffled, if the driver had time to stand over the cashiers shoulder he is obviously not too busy to bend the route by three houses. I canceled my order. This was my first experience with this place. Bad business. I gave it two stars because the guy on the phone was polite. I’ll be sticking to Fat Lorenzo’s, it seems they have better reviews for a reason.

Solid, thin-crust pizza joint. I like the variety of toppings, and the sauce has a good spice to it. We order delivery from here regularly, and delivery is always prompt, and the pizza arrives hot. We’ve never eaten in, but if you do, they have a very small lot, so you may be parking across the street or on one of the residential streets nearby. One thing to note if you are calling-if you call during a peak time, rather than being put on hold, you listen to a recording telling you they are busy and asking you to hang up and call back, or order online. Kind of annoying
