Stopped in for a late supper. Had some great lamb kabob which we shared. The owner spent time visiting with us and it is obvious he takes great pride in the restaurant. Time waiting for our order was what i would expect. Great coffee wish they did breakfast. Plan to visit again when I’m in town.

Very well priced but pretty average food. Ordered a mixed kabob plate with chicken, lamb, and gyro meat. They were cooked well but flavor was average. Great sauces to accompany the meat. Wish I had tried the pizza as it looked delicious and seems to be their specialty.

They are doing some new interior decorating right now so it is very loud, stay away. Also, the guy who took my order was not helpful or attentive at all. I’ve been coming here for years and it just seems to go downhill more each year. I once saw a cook lick his hands twice while making a gyro. Sad, because they gyros used to be pretty decent. Go to Wally’s in Dinkytown instead, atmosphere is nicer, service is better, food portions and cleanliness are MUCH better.

Is Crescent Moon feminine? I don’t know, but I feel like I can try on masculinity here. Came here today, on this rainy afternoon, with some guys. And what did we do? Order the house special football pizza. Large. Pink-shirt wearing guy at the counter is a singer in a touring band, which gave him some credibility when he said that the small was for one person, medium for two, and large for three. We were three(healthy/fit adults), and we had three slices leftover. Crescent Moon has cokes to match your vibe. One got a coke that said BRO and the other one got a coke that said FRIEND. So uncannily accurate. Nice with the details, CM. And yes, everything else here is good(kourma, kebab, combos, etc). I like this location a little more than the Central Ave one, but I can’t tell you why.

Afghan Beef pizza was my favorite. Just a great unique taste. Their green dipping sauce could be used on anything.

Not bad. Not good. That’s all I have to say. The gyro was mediocre. Nearly every other place that sells a gyro in this area is better. My jaw after eating the meat on the kabob platter nearly needed reconstructive surgery. The football pizza is indeed delicious and the sole reason why this place didn’t get 2 stars.

Although I have not tried anything else on the menu, the pizza is delicious, cheap & my go to for pizza take out in the neighborhood.

You: «Do you want pizza?» Me: «No.» You: «Do you want pizza now?» Me: «No.» You: «Do you want Crescent Moon Pizza?» Me: «Yes!» Yep. That is the conversation we will have if you ask me if I want pizza. But Crescent Moon Pizza, you deserve five stars because I like yo pizza and pizza usually bores my taste buds. I had the Small House Special Football Pizza with Afghani beef, onions, and green peppers. The Afghani beef tasted like sausages and the onions and green peppers gave the pizza an added crunch. It was gooood. Hmmm and that green sauce. Eating pizza will no longer be the same without green sauce. I’m not sure if it was because I was really hungry or because it was really good but I ate more than half of the pizza. That rarely happens as I’m usually the one to say deuces after two slices. On the other hand, these Football Pizzas are pretty thin. The Football Pizzas come in small, medium, and large sizes and the Traditional Round Pizzas only come in extra large. I will be back. Most likely between the hours of 11am — 3pm, Monday — Thursdays for a 12″ pizza for $ 5. Yus.

I live close to here so it’s very convenient when to grab to go food when I don’t feel like cooking. The food is very good, and the green sauce is amazing! My only complaint is that it is a bit over priced, and the pizza in the oven at the counter always looks very unappealing.

Small place that feels a little like a deli except instead of salads and sandwiches, you can get pizza and gyros. Overall, my experience was okay. The gyro was unfortunately weak. Dry bread and meat, and difficult to eat, which made it impossible to finish. At the counter, there was pizza sitting on a heating oven which made it seem like I was about to get something from a concession stand. However, when we ordered it came from the back and it was surprisingly delicious and the sole reason I’m boosting this place up to 3 stars. I would describe it as cheesy pita bread with some unique middle-eastern flair. Good to try but nothing exceptional.

Great take out pita based Afghani beef pizza with green sauce. The«spicy» pizza could be a bit more spicy.

In the rough and tumble world of pizza joints near campus(which come and go almost yearly) Crescent Moon has managed to make a go of it by combining a flat bread crust that is similar to pizza, some traditional pizza toppings and some Middle Eastern style toppings. I don’t know whether it’s the shape, reminiscent of an American football, the generous portion size or the unique combination of flavors, but Crescent Moon pizza has found a winning combination.

I had the traditional Gyro and fries and it was so good! The location is great for students at the U and the staff was very nice. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the menu has a good variety. I will definitely be a returning customer.

Ever wonder what a football pizza taste like? Well it’s way better than traditional shaped pizza, and not only because of its shape! The toppings and flavors of the Middle East makes this pizza one of a kind that I go back for over and over again. Oh, and you MUST try it with their house made green sauce.

Two words — Football Pizza I don’t care about football but I care a lot about pizza. Pizza is a part of my staple diet. Crescent Moon’s veggie football pizza is nothing like the typical pizzas you would get from a franchised pizza joint. The taste is different and different good. The green chutney(mint sauce) that comes with the pizza is what you get at Indian restaurants. I think the chutney just adds to the deliciousness of their pizza. A large size pizza can serve 2 – 3 adults but let me tell you I have eaten several large football pizzas all by myself in the last couple of years.

The pizza was good. It was oval like a football. We tried the afghan beef with onions, green pepper and black olives. The crust stood out the most about what makes this pizza unique. This Crescent Moon is on the corner of Como and 15th. Its in that slot that never seems to keep a business more than a year or so, so kudos for them already being here for 3. I guess I just missed what all the rave reviews are about. It wasn’t bad, but there are a lot of good and unique pizza spots in the Twin Cities. Perhaps its the non-pizza items. There were quite a variety. The cashier was friendly. The place wasn’t too busy for a Friday afternoon. Get the bottled soda. The fountain soda was pretty flat and flavorless.

This is one of my favorite places. It’s family run, and they are a sweet, friendly staff. Portion sizes are generous, and they’re green cilantro sauce, which is tangy and spicy, is famous and is a great addition to their pizza and Middle Eastern/Afghan dishes. I’ve tried all their pizzas, which are delicious and some of their sandwiches and dishes. The pizza’s crush is perfect: not too thin nor too thick, good amount of tomato sauce, and generous toppings. Besides the pizza, their spinach and chicken kabobs are my favorites as well. There is something about that chicken kabob; I am addicted to it! I think anything you get here will make you happy. I’ve never been disappointed! Their food isn’t spicy but is very savory and flavorful. If you want it spicy, they have plenty of sauces to spice your food up! The Como location has lunch specials and plenty of seating. Not a hole in the wall but not overly fancy either. The other location is on Central Ave. Good place for friends, family, dates, etc. Their meat is halal! They also have teas and coffees and desserts!

We stopped buy on a Sunday for lunch and got a couple of different things. The Afghani pies where great, especially when paired with the green sauce and the sour cream I liked the spinach better than the cheese one as the cheese one falls into the block of cheese category when it cools down. I’d say Afghani pies are great for a snack or a small lunch. Then we got a side of eggplant and a side of lamb kebab. The eggplant was great. I love eggplants and these were done to perfection, roasted until sweet and melting. The lamb kebab was a meal in itself: it comes on pita bread and is accompanied by salad and the famous and the awesome green sauce and sour cream. The meat was cooked to perfection and it tasted great: it was roasted to perfect crispy and juicy without lapsing into charry and overdone. BTW if you are not for huge lunches I would stick with the side rather than go for the full plate. Very happy! Will be back and try the pizza!
