The way Hardware Stores used to be! Wood floor and friendly service. Ask any question and the owner will guide you on what you need(even if they don’t carry it) and tips on fixing things. It’s a small store so you can’t get everything here but for daily household products and fix-its this is perfect. They’ll mix paint, make keys have a nice selection of items that are easy to find. If you can’t find it just ask for a quick answer, this is not the case at the Big Box place a mile away!

I definitely would recommend that you go out of your way to get to Oaks Hardware. A few weeks ago, some jerkwagon decided it was a fine idea to attempt to rip the basket off the back of my scooter. It was a lose-lose situation — the basket didn’t fully detach itself from my scooter, so the thief didn’t get a basket, and I was left with a janky basket. BUMMER. After locating a replacement on Craigslist, I remembered that I would need to stop in to a hardware store to get some, well, hardware, for attaching the new equipment. Oaks Hardware was the only hardware store within a five mile radius at the moment, so away I went. The gentleman behind the counter(Pat?) went above and beyond the call of duty. Not only did he recommend a great solution for attaching the new milk crate, he helped me remove the busted basket. It was on there so tight that he had to use screwdrivers, pliers, a drill, and eventually, a saw! Seriously, I can’t say enough good things about this place. Bring cash if you can, support local businesses!

An old school hole in the wall hardware store. It’s close to my house to very convenient if I just need an odd part or tool. I went here to make copies of keys once. I can’t remember the exact price but it was a fair price for the work. Mostly a few old timers that run the joint but they’re some nice guys and very helpful. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here but if you live close it’s a nice convenient stop — and it’s always nice to support local businesses.
