I was in town for a trade show and looking for a place close to the Millennium. The menu had several options and I settled on the tuna sandwich and tomato basil soup. I was not disappointed. Both were fresh and very tasty. The service was pleasant and the price was very reasonable. I definitely recommend this place for brunch or lunch.

Macaroons were delicious, perfect for an afternoon snack. However, I was in town for a business trip and didn’t realize I was missing my corporate card until I was already at the airport. As this was the last place I used it, I called and the employee told me they had my card. I asked for it to be shipped to my work address and the employee said he’d have to talk to the manager. I called again after I was back at work and still no card had been sent. Seeing how the cashier did not hand back my card, nor did they notice this after we had sat at the café for a hour really, made this an inconvenience as I had to cancel my card after waiting 2 weeks for it to arrive.

I am trying to think that the cook had a bad day or never had a french food. I feel bad to give them 1star, because the service was ok. However the food is really bad…

Great vegetable crêpe, although it’s maybe served more like a cannelloni. But it was delicious, flavorful, and very healthy. The portions were generous, the crêpe came with a salad which was very good too. The service is very slow though, so don’t expect to be in and out quickly.

The food(had a sandwich and a latte) is decent. BUT — I waited 40 minutes for takeout and didn’t even end up receiving everything I ordered. Everything was complete chaos in there, and I was not the only one missing their lunch. Not even remotely worth it!

The 3 stars are for the food only, not the service! The spinach and cheese omelette was delicious, I knocked off 2 stars for service and here is why. We came in, weren’t offered menus do we grabbed them for s nearby table, we sat and looked them over once decided we had to sit there awkwardly waiting for them to ask us if we were ready. We ordered a sandwich to share and a side of bacon, bacon came out on the sandwich, since one of us is a vegetarian that didn’t work, so we asked to just get a second sandwich, the waitresses then awkwardly discussed the mistake right in front of us asking each other how to fix it, I made eye contact multiple times and was happy to explain that we just wanted one more sandwich. Then we were left to wait, no one said«your sandwich will be out in a second sorry about that» … We got nothing just sat and waited, the sandwich comes out and she hands it to us with no apology, not even acknowledging that they messed up until the bill came. Luckily they took it off of the receipt and said it was due to their mistake. We had to ask for our coffee to be refilled. It was like we weren’t even here. They didn’t ask us how the food was, nothing. While sitting here writing this one waitress tells the girls«do you think he notices that his sandwich is …(Mumbles) …And the other waitress responds«he’s eating it, it’s fine» idk what that’s about but doesn’t sound professional.

Went there this morning. There was only three of us. It took 15 minutes to be acknowledged by the waitstaff. We ordered three crepes and a croissant, and it took over an hour. In addition it took nearly 45 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge that it was taking a long time. Overall atrocious service. The food was good, however, one of my companion’s crepes had cold potatoes. Overall VERY unhappy with my experience. Would not go again, do not recommend. We were late to a meeting because of the speed of our service – no one has time for this on a weekday. Additionally, the waitress said she would give us a discount; the checks came and the discount was not applied. We were so late we didn’t bother.

Meal was fine, we ate in. You pay at the register at the end of the meal which is also where the carry out line is. Bad idea. Waited 15 minutes in line to pay. Made the experience not so pleasant. Three waitresses and no one pitched in to help. We won’t be back.

The bakery is very unassuming, tucked away in a building off of Nicollet. You enter and there’s soft music playing with folks from the neighborhood and people about to head to work both seated. There’s beautiful tiling for the back splash and a lot of warm brown tones. Their menu consists of baked goods, warm drinks and a small breakfast and lunch menu. Parties of 6 or more need to make reservations, but they offer to-go if you’re just swinging by. I ordered the spinach, egg and breakfast croissant with a small chai tea. The chai tea is smaller than what you get at caribou but still high quality. I waited about 5 – 7 minutes for my food before they put my items with utensils in a bag to carry. Unfortunately when I got to my office and opened the container, it was not my order. There was a gentleman also waiting for a to go order and he must have gotten my croissant. I was actually really bummed because he just had an egg and bacon sandwich. Taking the bacon off I was left with a fried egg and sauce on the croissant which was very buttery. The food was decent and you do get a side with it, so I ate all the fruit mix I ordered. They got my side right at least. For a place where there were only 6 people eating, waiting for food or leaving, my order should have been correct. I want to try this place for lunch but I’m concerned how overwhelmed they will be and what other mistakes could happen. I’ve wanted to try this place for a while so I’m glad I did. Not so sure if I’ll be back though. Total for what I ordered was $ 12.45.

FYI, the hours of operation on Unilocal are WRONG. They close at 6PM most days and 3PM on Sunday, just so you know.

This place is AMAZING! We walked here from the Walker to grab lunch, and the reviews are spot-on. I had the«prosciutto deja-vu» and Lauren had the«veggie crêpe». Both came with salads, and the vinaigrette on them was EXTRAORDINARY! We both tried each other’s food and we agreed that everything was delicious. We had three desserts between us that we both tried: the chocolate mousse, the chocalate tart, and a jam and toast-stick sample plate. They were all good, but we both agreed that the mousse and the sample plate were the best by far. We also found out that even the jams are made on-site by the chef. For this, our last meal out for our last weekend in Minneapolis, it really was a coup de grase. It almost leaves me wistful that we are leaving, but our careers await! So long, Minneapolis, and thanks for all the fish!

The food was pretty good hence the 3 stars but the service… oh boy were they horribly unorganized and under staffed. It took forever just to order and not because there was a line… it just took a long time to convey what we were ordering and for the staff person to get it recorded. Yikes. The Croque Monsieur was ok and the fruit salad tasted like Dole Fruit cocktail. But the macarons were perfect!

When this restaurant first opened it was amazing. I would go there for lunch 1 – 2 times a week and I’m not even the type of person that goes out to lunch often. The hot ham is my favorite sandwich on the menu with roast beef revolution being a close 2nd. The desserts were always outstanding as well, especially«the nun». I’m not sure if the restaurant is under new management or if it’s just had a huge turnover for employees and none if the originals are there but the quality has gone so far downhill that I dint know what’s worse, the food or the service. I hope they can bring this lovely little gem to it’s original glory.

I got a few macarons and a chocolate almond croissant. The macaron flavors weren’t labeled, so the server let me try them in an attempt to determine what flavors they were. To be honest, they all tasted on the creamy side, so I couldn’t really tell the difference. They were also cold and a bit soggy. Macarons need to have that crispy shell! Additionally, I also got the pistachio and strawberry macaron. I could taste the flavor of those a bit better — those flavors also tend to be stronger. I also kept these in my bag to let them thaw and they actually tasted much better after thawing(or maybe they were from a different batch). They did have that crispy shell with a little bit of chewiness in the center. The almond croissant wasn’t too sweet, which I definitely appreciated. Could have been a little bit fluffier and more buttery, but overall pretty good.

Was out of town for a convention and found out this place was around the corner from my hotel. Gave them a try one morning and was very pleased with everything. The food was well prepared and delicious Good service and the pastries are amazing. Had to go back another day. If you’re ever in the downtown area of Minneapolis, MN this is a must try spot, you won’t be disappointed.

The Croquet Monsieur is a grill sandwich with a topping of cheese. As compared to the Madam version that has eggs inside. It was delicious. Croissant is as good as they get. As for the rest of the services or foods, it is kind of meh. The coffee is reasonable, the fruit bowl was syrupy. I think the quiches are good, but we did not try. At the south end of Nicollet Mall, it is kind of a hidden gem.

Came here the morning after volunteering at a charity benefit all day yesterday. Woke up and decided to get some breakfast outside of the hotel restaurant. I hopped on Unilocal and found this place it was maybe a 5 minute walk from the Hilton Minneapolis Downtown, looks close to the Double Tree downtown. There is a lovely Presbyterian art museum just up the road from this bistro. Super cute atmosphere, very reasonably priced and friendly staff. I ordered Le Parisien and it was amazing so flavourful and was a great mixture of textures between the nice crisp baguette bread and the warm melted swim and sliced ham to the hard boiled egg, lettuce and tomato. Coffee is very fresh and full of body. A 16 oz coffee just black is 2 $! There are cute little fact cards on every table about the French and their contributions. I plan to come back in the winter when I’m 21 and try their French wines.

After my engagement evening at the W my fiancé and I decided we needed some breakfast. We didn’t want to travel far and we didn’t want to spend much. We ended up at the French Corner Bistro because their breakfast crepes sounded great. Well sadly breakfast ends rather early and I did not see any notice of that when I looked. Despite that their lunch menu still looked good. At first their seating doesn’t seem to make sense. There are numbers and menus on the tables and no signage saying what to do. A group of us(we came in at the same time as a family) wander up to the counter assuming you order at the counter then sit. Nope, turns out if you want to dine in you sit. The attitude they had telling us made it seem like that was a no brainer. There were no signs saying that though. I ended up getting a simple sandwich and my fiancé got the salmon crêpe. My sandwich was ok, but not worth the price. The salmon crêpe looked hearty, but the fish wasn’t great from what my fiancé told me. I was sad because their breakfast crepes sounded exactly like what I wanted and I ended up with a just ok sandwich. The service also didn’t seem to sparkle or be happy with life. They went through the motions but it looked pained. Would come back for breakfast, but wouldn’t jump at the opportunity. 63⁄100

One of the best kept secrets in downtown when it comes to lunch places. My croque Monsieur sandwich had a nice amount of melted cheese and was quite large and came with a side salad so I was pleasantly surprised since it was only about $ 7! Most downtown skyway places charge a lot more for a sandwich that’s half the size. I was stuffed to the brim but still made room for their crème brûlée! All the desserts displayed looked great so it was a tough choice. Their apple croissants are damn good too! We had quick service and got seated right away at around 12:30 and it was busier when we left about 40 minutes later. If you don’t mind walking all the way down Nicollet mall past target then this is the best French place to have an awesome lunch! The server recommended the lunch crepes so perhaps I’ll try that next time!
