What sets this place apart is the obviously careful selection of wines and the knowledgeable staff who purvey them. You won’t find any of the standard brands but, if you have the same experience I’ve had, you will chance upon some tasty unknowns. They also happen to occupy a cool spot right near downtown, making their Thursday wine tastings a worthwhile stop on your way home from work. They carry a limited selection of local beers too.

My husband and I have purchased several bottles of wine at Henry & Son since they opened, and all have been excellent. The shop space is beautiful, and we even attended a wine tasting with Bill Summerville last weekend — educational and delicious! The prices are reasonable, the volume of bottles to choose from is not overwhelming and the staff is super friendly.
